Reviews of Sainsbury's
S. S.
Okay shop, has some good bits, but overall most items overpriced. There are plenty of smaller and better shops to use. Because shop is so big it's hard to find what you need in short period of time. I wasn't impressed with the selection of products.
C. P.
Nice wide aisles made it easy on the scooter with a pull along trolley. Helpful staff. Good selection of gluten free items and protein powders. Used the scan and shop option and that worked well.
B. P.
I am a bit partial to this supermarket, its HUGE, it literally has everything. I go in for groceries and come out with new bedding, towels, pyjamas, a dog treat jar shaped like a dog and a Toblerone... Never had an issue with staff or not having what I need. Prices are pretty standard too.
G. P.
Standard supermarket. Plenty of space down the aisles. Nice clothing section. Argos at the back. Bakery and deli counters could do with a freshen up. Parking is shocking at peak times. Always go to the 1st floor for easier parking/increased likelihood of getting a space.
M. O.
Overall happy with the place. If you go in the morning you have better chances to find whatever you need. Lots of different products at quite competitive prices and the more expensive ones are really worth it, as in bio or organic type at least. Also if you shop by smartshop either by handheld scanner or the app installed on your phone you get weekly customized prices for the items that you regularly purchase from there and not only. Not to mention the Nectar Reward scheme that makes it even more excited to shop in there as you gather points and exchange them for Ebay, Argos or lots others...I find myself preferring Ebay vouchers the most. Also the staff are really helpful whenever I can't find a product or whatever other help I need they always go their way in providing the help. So yeah, thumbs up and keep it going Sainsbury's !!
J. M.
Very pleased with my shopping experience, so quiet and not busy. Got in had time to look around, got everything I needed and staff at checkout was very friendly, checking I did find everything and if I didn't she could get someone to get it... Didn't even need to queue, as I got to checkout the customer Infront was just passing as I was loading and I want rushed the checkout lady made polite conversation while she waited for me to finish and she did not start scanning until I had opened my bags ready to pack even though there was now another customer loading their shopping on the belt.
T. I.
I am not often visiting it but like doing shopping there.
Really good choice of grocery and fresh products.
And big parking so you will always find a free place to park your car.
S. W.
Much the same as any other big supermarket, except that they have a fantastic range of craft beers and that's why they are getting 5 stars.
Cheers to that 🍺
P. K.
This is one of Sainsbury's larger stores extended in the last few years. Car parking at ground and first floor levels. Good range of standard supermarket fare notwithstanding some gaps at present (September 2021). In house Argos store. Good range of TU clothing and accessories for men, women and children. Household items including bedding, kitchen ware, ornaments, stationery, electrical goods, and more give a wide selection of items and prices. Excellent cafe on the first floor offering a wide choice of drinks, snacks and menu items. Able to get breakfasts, brunches, lunches and later afternoon items. Can be busy on days before local sports teams (Northampton Saints rugby and Northampton Town football) have home matches very close to the store. Even visiting fans and match officials have been seen enjoying the fare :-) Staff throughout the Store are welcoming and helpful. In the main part, you can use Smartscan, Self scanning or cashier checkouts as your mood or needs take you. Overall, a good example of a modern supermarket meeting a wide range of needs.
J. M.
Like it for the Habitat range and convenience of Argos being inside as well. Don't like the car park much but fairly average experience for a large supermarket.
J. H.
Very friendly and polite staff. I've visited a few times now and I'm never disappointed by their efforts.
T. M.
There is lots of parking, a convenient argos section and the self-service checkouts are easy to use. Good Christmas range of products too.
S. B.
Very big shop, has clothing, that I haven't seen in Sainsburys before, good grocery section with a coffee shop upstairs.
T.
Used the scan and go app. Quick in and out, very efficient. Staff are friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable. Well stocked supermarket
d. l.
The shop is spacious, with abundant and varieties of groceries supply. Love this shop. Enjoy the one-stop shopping.
N. L.
Decent Sainsbury's great location, the road layout outside can be quite confusing to out-of-towners, especially with the roadworks just outside. But other than that, not bad.
s. s.
Apart from products and service I like Sainsbury (sixfield) because of the location as Next , M&S , boots are near by. So I don't miss it even if it is closed at Grosvenor mall.
D. H.
This was the queue at 1115. I am about half way from when I started queuing, took 20 mins to get in the store. Minority of customers wearing masks. If you don't want people to have to keep back tracking need much better info about what's in which aisle. I got most of what I wanted but won't be rushing back. Same with all large supermarkets I expect.
S. b.
Very nice, easy parking but as always, quite expensive.
A. S.
They have aquavia, the cheapest natural alkaline water in the UK I think🥰 I also found pampers discount 🥰 Happy trip to Sainsbury's 🥰
A. H.
This is about a delivery I have just had to my home. I saw the Sainsbury's van on my driveway so went outside to unpack the items, only to discover that Colin the driver had already unpacked the trays into the bags I had ready. He was so very helpful and polite and cheerful. I cannot praise this Colin enough. I wish all delivery drivers were like him.
M. W.
Nearly always a pleasure, but why have you taken away the butchers and Deli counters?
D. H.
Still felt very Covid safe, hand gel everywhere and cleanser for trolley and basket handles, everyone wearing masks still
A. P.
Excellent store, well supplied, and cared for by a good team.
C. D.
Easy to park, not too busy, had what I wanted to buy and no wait to be served!
P. M.
Has petrol!!!!. Everything in one place. Good parking although cafe could be cheaper especially as bottled drinks are about 50p cheaper in store.
A. D.
Big store with loads of variety. I won't lie, I mainly go for the great selection of spirits that they have!
M.
Plenty of parking. Large store good selections
E. S.
Not cheap by any means , plenty of vegan choices and to get the stuff you can't get from Aldi .
C. B.
Parking is perfect here, bigger spaces and with the higher level plenty of them. Shop was quite but I guess time of the day that was expected. Only grabbed a few items but all items were there and the shelves looked full enough
V. L.
Raw meat shelves dirty, staff seemed helpful
J. N.
It is pretty much a decent store. It is cleaner than most, and has a good range of gluten free products, meat, veg and dairy. Products are a little pricey compared to other supermarkets. Staff could be a little more friendlier in my opinion...
B. T.
Its Sainsbury's and it sells stuff not much more I can add. Aldi cheaper but I just familiar with this store layout.
J. B.
Visited the recycling centre to drop off and do my bit for the environment. Well done Sainsbury's for having this facility 👍
P. W.
Quite quiet. Staff very helpful. Small problem with pump number3 when filling the car. All seemed well, but the pump failed to communicate with the till in the kiosk, it took 2 attempts from both tills before it would register my purchase. The staff were very pleasant...
K. P.
Very busy business and more development going ons but quick & efficient service. Short refuelling times + in and out in time at all _ KG1PRODUCTION...
R. K.
I always park on the top floor of the car park as there is a bit more space. The store entrance is a bit chaotic but once in the store it’s well laid out and a much better experience than Tesco. The I store Argos is convenient
a. g.
Nicely spaced out, easy to navigate always a til, be it self check out or manned, available. Easy shopping
M. P.
I visited sainsbury for diesel for my car and the service was good . Did not go into the store.
D. C.
Really big Sainsburys, great children's clothes range and a very handy Argos within.
T. K.
Superb store, well stocked and replenished, staff are first class and go that extra mile to help. Restaurant is very popular, very clean and tidy, overall a well managed store that is a credit to its family name, and the management team locally.
J. C.
A large store selling a vast array of items - not only groceries and household items but also clothing, books and electrical items. This branch also has an Argos store which is very convenient. The measures implemented during the pandemic for the safety of customers and staff makes you feel confident to shop there. My only bug bear is that for the past 6 months or so the store has been carrying out repairs on their carpark . This has meant accessing and parking is very often a nightmare- I’m disabled and have blue badges , trying to park close to the store entrance at the moment is often impossible and consequently I have been shopping elsewhere.
R. G.
Very helpful staff, went in there for some sushi ginger and one of the ladies at the entrance helped and showed us to the right Isle. Saturday evening visit and it was not busy. Plenty of parking spaces. At the entrance in the parking there is a monitor that tells you how long you can stay which is helpful :)
M. P.
Very good quality very organised staff and plenty of parking
M. D.
I love shopping in sainsburys the staff are so friendly . The quality of goods is brilliant
R. 2.
It's a supermarket. However, I think they shouldn't try to compete with Aldi and their likes, as the quality will go downhill.
D.
Big and spacious. Everything you could need
K. D.
A large and spacial store that has other shops like Timpsons on site. It also had an educational facility for children as well.
It sells the usual groceries and other household goods like cleaning products in addition to clothing, toys, home decor and more sold here too.
There is a petrol station located here as well to top up too.
r. b.
Massive store! Great customer service a d well stocked.
S. G.
Standard for a sainsburys. Includes clothing, home, travel, newsagents and pharmacy sections. Handheld scanners and self service checkouts. Has an argos, key cutters, and tutoring onsite. Parking is good quality, although currently undergoing work. Has a petrol station and a cafe, as well as both lifts and an escalator. Public toilets are available.
S.
Lovely shopping in Sainsbury as always. No queues.
K. B.
Phoned and asked for medicine to be left at C.S. to help me out. What a fabulous team of worker’s and staff. Thank you guys and gals you’re the best….
I. C.
Although there are plenty of items to choose from, the fruits and vegetables department wasn't to full and the prices are the most expensive I've encountered until now.
The lady on the till was really lovely and kind 🥰, she deserves a 5* for customer service (an old lady with glasses and grey hair 😍).
Lots of flowers and colourful plants🪴
C. S.
I got a fantastic biker jacket I love TU clothes
G. D.
Great store. Large enough to have a decent selection of less common ingredients. Best time to go is late evening. Less crowded, staff are great - friendly and helpful. Only negative is what seems to be a downward trend on best before dates. Seems products don't last as long as they used to, or the supply chain is slower. Not just Sainsbury's, seems all the major supermarkets are doing it.
S. W.
Huge shop with plenty of choice. Parking as a bit crammed but typical for the time of day. Lots of friendly staff willing to help. Fresh Bakery section is always a win
K. P.
Sainsbury six fields best supermarket in
Northampton staff lovely and friendly
C. “. p.
This is a lovely store, the fruit and veg are nice and fresh and a really good selection of food and the prices are not that bad either. Has a café which always looks nice and clean, but must admit not used it this year.
T. M.
The team are wonderful. Stock availability on 'price drop' lines not so much. On most weekly visits my regular purchases are often denied me because their on offer and there is no stock available. Doubly frustrating as I am both denied the saving and the item. I often have to buy a more expensive alternative. Sainsbury should increase the shelf space and the stock quantity. Can this be a cynical attempt to bait me or are they just poor at predicting sales increases of 'price drop items?
k. b.
Brilliant! Bigger store than Market Harborough. Shelves full helpful friendly staff. Customer Service desk girls eager to please. Thank you, I will visit you again, travel further to do so on your past performance! Well done you!
C. H.
Well stocked store. Good parking.
M.
Coffee area a disaster understaffed 12.30pm sunday no sunday roast run out!!!!!!
N.
Nice and helpful and cheap and meat look good 👍
B. W.
Haven't shoped here for years I'd be definitely going again
K. L.
Expensive and the fruit and veg go off within a day of purchase
G. A.
Competitive prices and relatively cheap in contrast to popular opinion
m. J. (.
Seriously as Supermarkets go a good place to shop.i went day before Christmas Eve. In the height of covid restrictions. Friendly staff at 6am!! and yes looked happy. Well done to them and to the Manager that runs this store.
S. M.
Helpful and friendly staff and not long cues at the check out.
j. m.
Everything you need and a nice cafe plus petrol station
B. S.
I was able to but my favourite Chedar cheese here. Also selling beautiful blue orchids.
L. H.
I came in to buy some flowers for my Nans birthday, the gent that helped me was lovely and helped me pick some beautiful flowers out...staff in here are always lovely...just a bit pricey on some items though.
M. L.
Well laid out supermarket with the added bonus of a Argos inside, good covid measures in place, plenty of choice in the store and some keen pricing, easy to park
D. J.
Quite quiet every time I go. Lots of variety happy they stock Don Simon lemon and raspberry bottle juice.
S. H.
Great shop helpful staff always Great service
D. S.
Friendly, approachable staff. Always handgel and sanitiser at the front entrance for hands/trolleys/baskets. People are quite good at keeping their distance. Solid dividers between till points. Stock levels can be hit and miss, but what isn't these days with the current affairs we all face.
T.
Always good, quality products at good value. Staff are smashing.
Better when the work on the car park is complete as always dark under the mezzanine (!?).
S.
Well layed out Sainsburys
J. B.
The store isn't a particularly nice Sainsbury's to shop in - much better before the expansion a few years back. It does have a good range of products/produce, including clothes & homewares, & probably the best range of organic in town.
There's only about 1/3 of the car park available at the moment because the awful mezzanine is being repaired. Traffic in rush hour is best avoided.
Easier to go to Wellingborough if you live on the other side of town.
L. P.
I have become aware in the past 2 weeks that Sainsbury's has put there price up very dramatic I buy the same almost every week and it's gone up by £6 I know that don't sound like alot but it's two extra meals so it's something to think abt
s. m.
The ladies clothing range in Sainsbury's is excellent better than Tesco as they have more items for the plus size customer. Fantastic. Store was clean and the assistant on the till was excellent. Parking was a bit of a problem untill the refurbishment are completed.
A. H.
Last minute valentine's shopping, joined by a dozen other last minute sado's
P. J.
No one way system like Tesco but it didn't seem to matter. The aisles are wider which meant keeping two metres apart was pretty easy. I didn't get stressed out being in there and could have shopped for longer quite happily. As it was I got what I needed and headed for the tills. Overall a more pleasant experience than I imagined.
N. F.
if you want tea bags and milk a weekend shop
bit of take away food spot on good booze selection
j. c.
Great supermarket all under one roof including argos.
Fuel at the petrol station is the cheapest around, the only problem is they are still fixing their carpark and the road outside gets very busy at peak times.
I. S.
Car parking was horrendous but I did manage to find a space (it was Saturday so a busy time). I bought a pair of trousers in the sale plus groceries. When I got home found there was a tear in the trousers which I sewed up. I returned a t - shirt to Sainsbury's the other week because the sleeve had some sort of mud on it (even the staff couldn't decide on what it was). What's happening to your clothes Sainsbury's? Definitely not as good as they were!
K. P.
Wide range of products, but expensive as all the Sainsbury's
T. T.
The young lady who served us was lovely and helped make the experience a whole lot more pleasant... I wish I got her name so i could thank her on here but all I remember is she had just passed her driving test in July. If this gets to you... Many thanks... You just got Sainsburys two new permanent customers.
J. H.
My delivery was cancelled today due to the driver being ill. I had a telephone call asking if I could collect it. I went to customer services and it took half hour before my order appeared. The man who brought it was very nice but he got my name wrong and there was no till receipt but anyway he took it to our car. Do I get my delivery charge refunded? Shame about this as the delivery service has been great up until now
D. W.
Huge carpark and nice staff. In store bakery is very good. Camenbert cheese is a good price
s. m.
Large supermarket. They are rebuilding the 1st story parking at the moment, but doing it in stages so you can still park. Didnt queue but we were counted in and store wasn't crowded. Most customers wearing masks so felt safe.
T. V. L. M.
Went in for breakfast. No beans and the staff cannot go and get some from the store they have to wait fir a delivery!! Tables all clean but the cutlery was disgusting. I rejected 3 knives and 2 forks until I found one I could use......after I washed it. Either need a new dish washer or better cleaning product. I noticed other customers also "self cleaning" cutlery. The breakfast was actually very good.
A. S.
Always pleasant shopping in Sainsbury's...nice wide aisles no pushing and shoving around anything reduced. Their food is good quality too. Good parking experience under cover on the lower deck and not too far to walk from your car. Well done!
I. S.
We have started to do the shops online since the pandemic COVID 19 starts, but sometimes maybe you forget something and just need to pas by, they have very good products, the quality is very good and the prices are adequate. It's a really nice store for all your needs.
R. K.
Love there gluten free and gluten free vegan
Range.
M. T. N.
Big superstore, 2 floors worth of sainsburys goodness. And parking is huge bit like ikea Hi five
S. W.
A much improved shopping experience since the past renovations took place with plenty of parking and a much wider choice of goods.
I'm sure whatever you are looking for you are sure to find it here, with great choices of fresh food on offer and an array of other outlets contained within the store, a shoppers paradise with the added bonus of a filling station onsite.
The only drawback and not necessarily Sainsbury's fault is the traffic problem at times trying to get in and out.
J. S.
No empty shelfs good selection of goods
t. b.
A great selection of food although it can be hard to find some vegetarian foods as they are mixed in with meat products.
Overall though the range of products is goo across the board with some minor items missing that are advertised as stocked in sainsbury's such as Rock Rose Gin
J. D.
Store was far too over crowded. Traffic light system still not introduced. Product is great but so overpriced in comparison to other supermarkets.
g. w.
Great prices has it said on the placards. 😊
L. W.
A great supermarket, that's big, with a lot of choice. First time I've been here since lock down. I didn't have to queue to get in. When you go in, there is a sanatising station with hand gel and spray to clean trolleys. One way system in operation - just follow the arrows and you'll be fine. Good selection of food and drink, plus many non food items. Tu clothing for all ages. Instore Argos, which is very convenient. Lovely instore bakery. There is a cafe, but due to the current situation, this remains closed. Pricing is good and the quality of Sainsbury goods is superior to that of the German discounters, that love to use a union flag. Large car park that's free to use, with time limits, and has disabled and parent parking available. It would be good for a sanatising station when you leave the shop, so you can gel your hands, but at the moment there isn't one. Shopping is made easier, safer and quicker by using the Sainsbury scan and go app on my mobile.
E. W.
Good prices , easy to shop
B.
Understandably during covid it is going to be longer and more stressful maneouvering through the aisles, keeping a 2 metre distance is nearly impossible and it doesn't help that staff are willing to barge past without a care in the world. Good place to shop with good deals
J. H.
I shop here regularly. There's generally a good selection but poor stock control. They frequently run out out pre-prepared food, particularly if they have issued a nectar coupon for them. Don't trust the opening hours published on Google as the staff don't update it when they elect to close earlier. I've tried the delivery service. Friendly delivery but far too many missing items and items with short use by date.
E. K.
Wide aisle, good variety of products, Cafe,
And has a Argos Department in store,
Also has a good Homeware and Clothing and not forgetting they have toilets.
H. R.
Loads of parking, lot's under cover. Big store with a great range and Argos in store too. Update: Major work going on meaning most of downstairs car park out of use, have to try upstairs.
G. J.
Standard Sainsbury's store plenty of parking with easy access on 2 levels. Friendly, helpful staff. Standard store layout with a decent restaurant on the first floor offering a good range of meals & light snacks, can be a bit slow with hot drinks but not to bad.
z. G. (.
Clean and tidy , everyone is friendly and they will kindly help you with a smile on their face. They have Argos inside the shop and helps a lot. Travel money , exchange, and everything you need at your hand . I would highly recommend.
Thanks
J. H.
This Sainsbury's is pretty sizeable however it can be a little hard to find some produce. They have adapted to covid guidance really well.
D.
I was exhausted towards the end of my shopping. I asked for help with going through the till. The lovely young lady (with glasses and who had a stroke at birth) helped me unpacking the trolley and repacking it and taking it out to the car and put everything in the boot. She was fabulous. Thanks to other staff who were all helpful as well.
S. H.
I've noticed they have become much more competitive with their pricing and have a great range of items. Always floor staff nearby if you need help finding something. Always pleasant to shop there.
J. C.
Thanks to Darren and his colleagues who were fantastic with assisting my family with a medical issue in store yesterday, very grateful. You guys couldn’t do enough for us.
S. G.
Strange click and collect that they've implemented during the covid 19 pandemic at the front of the car park. Using a van as the base and they appear to have a large amount of members using the service at the same time slot (or we all came at once) making queuing interesting.
As usual good service regardless and can't fault the products.
K. J.
OK but very over priced.
B. A.
This morning about 11:00 somebody allowed the level one car park to be used. The customers upstairs came down the walkway completely avoiding the queue downstairs. For some unexplained reason they were allowed to enter the store waiting a fraction of the time the customers downstairs were having to wait. This was very poor and I trust it doesn’t happen again.
E. G.
Go here all the time, and staff are very helpful and this shop has all the family essentials!
Y. A.
Obviously due to its size you get a much better range than in the town centre. But I particularly like their extensive range of beauty brands that you don't tend to find in other supermarkets or even drugstore's such as Beauty Kitchen.
S. G.
Big supermarket with plenty of choice. Park on the upper levels if you like to imagine what a poorly constructed building might feel like with wobbly floors and that sense that the whole place could come tumbling down around your ears.
Other than that, the supermarket is actually not too bad. It has an Argos, a hot counter and a bakery. Great selection of fruit and veg and meats, fantastic collection of clothing and homewares and an even better selection of processed foods. Checkouts are a bit scabby and could do with some more motivated staff but I guess you're not going to be very motivated if your employers rake in millions nationally daily and only pay you buttons.
G. C.
Nice big store. Upstairs carpark is to be desired, its ike driving over a cobbled street although I think they are ripping it to down to fix. Also trollies everywhere making it hard to park in their already limited carpark.
D. T.
Shop was fine but checkout staff seemed miserable and disinterested
J. H.
Clean well stocked store
C. M.
The staff are so helpful, I had cycled here only to realise I had left my bike lock at home, so I asked a staff member outside if I could keep it with me while I shop, which they were fine with. On top of that though the security guard found me inside and offered to keep it behind his podium whilst I shopped, which made things a lot easier for me. Great service over all thank you
S. C.
Decent store. Plenty or carparking spaces also public toilets on site.. Shelfs are well stocked and if you time it right can pick up food at a 3rd of the price. Staff are helpful and they have a chemist, argos and Maths & English tuition centre in store. This store sells clothes (TU brand) and has a home and ware department. Decent store 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
p. L.
Great shop, with great parking
K. G.
Love the tu clothing range good value..Great sizing il definitely be back for more.
E. D.
Staff not bothered with lockdown rules standing around in the isles talking, online shoppers not bothered about social distanceing nobody would know we are in a national lockdown
S. A.
Don't care about masks or social distancing as no one challenged for not doing either. Too reliant on self service, not enough staff.
C. H.
It's convenient and with argos inside its makes things easier for me when I book things online
h. e.
Good big store with all you could need and more. Large free car park, clean and well organised inside. I don’t shop in here as much as I used to as on the other side of town, but if your looking for a big good supermarket this is a good choice. Somethings are a bit more expensive though the Sainsbury’s own products are good value and of good quality.
G.
Top tip always lots of parking on roof and take the escalator down to the store. Other than that staff helpful and friendly
D. F.
Frequent out of stocks compared to some supermarkets
M. A.
Controlled entry and exit, kept extremely clean, numerous tills open so easy checkout
B. G.
Very good gluten free section although was the only supermarket I've been to that recognised the sun flower bracelet one of the ladies on the till offered to get help getting my shopping to the car
A. P.
Air conditioning a little bit cool in the cafe
T. M.
I work in retail myself so I know the difficulties faced in the shop this is why I have given it for stars the man on chilled when I went in at about 9: 40 p. M. Was a complete legend so with the Checkout staff if I was to rent it out of 10 it who'd be a solid 8 very chuffed with my late night visit wasn't too busy as in I think there were five people in the shop staff brilliant and exceptionally helpful
d. e.
Crowded parking small but usable
A. H.
Pricy for certain items and wouldn't call their produce the best. Fresh baked goods are often over baked. Nice fresh cakes though - if you are in a position to eat them. Horribly teasing for a Type 1 diabetic.
Good selection of household goods, and the quality of their clothing is very good too.
S. T.
Helpful staff, good range of vegan products
a. b.
Nicely laid out shop, meat and fish is always fresh, we have found veggies to be decent too in terms of choice and quality.
D. B.
not too busy and stock on the shelves
G. B.
Went early as it opened to exchange trousers for a different size and buy more clothes but fitting room was closed .. why? If the shop is open then it should function fully. Nice store otherwise.
J. B.
Bharti assisted me, as I was asking about where different items were. Her patience and helpfulness was amazing!
E. W.
Very clean no hassle wide aisles for disabled. In like Aldi where it's all very fast moving.Just a shame no Sainsbury's in Daventry. Have to rely on someone to take me 🙄
H. M.
Always love this store, has a massive variety, has loads of discounted items would recommend this shop to anyone
b. f.
Plenty of parking space and not too busy.
T. O.
The parking space is very limited . The Sainsbury's itself is great . Lots of vegan products and all the vegetables are fresh
C. G.
Great and easy to park.
D. A.
Beautiful place. Good quality food they sell at reasonable prices
C.
Amazing selection in the shop with very unique items, just wish rules were better enforced.
E. S.
Staff on Tuesday evening putting away all that delivery were surprisingly cheerful and happy to help, has everyone gotten the Christmas cheer?
Didn't catch their names but 2 colleagues that helped me find lemon juice and the two women on the self checkouts were lovely and happy
M. W.
Good variety of food and other things
c. l.
Really busy store, not exactly covid friendly when compared with Rugby. Reasonably well stocked and organised store though.
S. t.
The fruits section is my favourite. It is detailed with a variety of species of different fruits
J. F.
Nice and big and lots of choice. Also lovely and friendly staff and conveniently has argos in store. Also they always have clothes on sale with great prices.
n. f.
Big shop not too busy
R. S.
I really want to give 5 stars however with most of the craft bread finished before 12pm I cannot really do that. Good variety of products , shelves a bit messy at places.
A. P.
This Sainsbury's is consistently well-stocked and has a huge variety of products available. Staff are friendly, and the store is pretty well laid out.
J. C.
Love the smell of the fresh veg section.
Layout is confusing and viscerally threatening
Toilets smell like asparagus urine.
I cried over my ex in your toilets and considered if anything was worth it.
I'm still kicking though.
S. A.
I shop here most weeks. Sometimes, the smart shop doesn't work which is a pain because I love using it. Also, the escalators are out of order a lot. Just before Christmas, they were out of order for over 2 weeks! Other than that, a good shop.
r. r.
Sainsburys Lamb, not sure you can beat the price and quality....their website gives you great ideas of how to cook too. Experience certainly teaches you to trust in them for nice meat.. the shop is light... easy to find items, the staff are always helpful and it's just a reliable store with great quality food. Atmosphere is pleasant...wide aisles and a really pleasant shopping experience
S. M.
Very helpful staff reserved me the last of what I needed until I could pick it up.
C. W.
Good quality merchandise but looks like some items are no longer available such as crusty rolls which I get every week, WHY !!!! also why is there no variety in tins of salmon. Unfortunately Asda will be getting more trade from me
D. P.
I had the unfortunate experience to find out that the meat does not match the weight what it says on the packaging, it's always less. Ex: the stir fry meat it says on the pack 300g but in reality it was 260g and it wasn't just one incident. Also, the same situation with packed fruits.
M. T.
Yummy hot breakfast which was brought to us quickly. Bit of a wait to have the order taken. Two members of staff (one making drinks and the other serving) would improve waiting times.
J. S.
This Sainsburys has the cheapest fuel and one of the widest range of groceries, clothing and household items to be found for miles around. My go-to place for regular shopping.
One negative: the multistory carpark can feel threatening late in the evening. Young people gather with their cars to socialise.
E. M.
A very large supermarket (for this town) with long, wide aisles. Takes a bit longer to shop in, but it's not really an issue. You just have to learn where things are and the shopping goes quicker. It welcomes the use of the self-scanners, unlike some other supermarkets which treats it (ie you) with suspicion. It also sells clothes, which is always a nice distraction, some toys, a Timpson, a Learning Resources centre, an Argos and a cafe (with no music, which is great for sound-sensitive children) on the first floor, where you will find additional outdoor car parking as well. You can use a lift to and from the café or the (slightly hidden) staircase by the kiosk/travel exchange/customer services. The travelators are on opposite end to the café, but easily accessible from the main entrance.
I have found the staff friendly, and it has become my first point of call for grocery shopping, despite having another, large supermarket nearby. There are, apparently, other Sainsbury's that are even bigger with a larger selection of clothing, but there's no space for that here unless they recreate the upstairs part. Also be aware that on a Sunday afternoon, they close the car ramp up to the upstairs parking area to prepare for the 4 pm closing hour. It makes the ground-level parking a bit manic, shall we say.
K. L.
Huge store. Love the homeware and clothes section. Lots of choice.
v. p.
Friendly and helpfull staff, big store. When the shop is busy, parking is a bit of an issue as part of it is beeing renovated
S. S.
Very large store with much to offer from fresh deli to hot coffee.
S. H.
An amazing shopping experience. Service is ok most of the time, food quality is pretty good, better than other large rivals, and prices are not too high. Cafe could do with shorter queues and more trays.
S. J.
Well stocked, scan and shop brilliant as always
C. A.
Although it was my last resort yet I loved it as I got what I had roamed all day for in duston. Mum was happy with the things I got there🥰🥰🥰🥰
F.
They have smart shopping, which saves a lot of time!
Very helpful staff.
It gets busy on weekends, but there is 2 level car car park. There is always a parking spot.
P. M. I.
Excellent safety measures in place happy to help staff throughout the store lots of smiley happy people everywhere recommend
I. D.
The young girl on checkout looked as though she didn't want to be there. Didn't great us and tipped a pizza upside down after scanning the bottom (so the right way up). We shop though only when we really have to these days not by choice.
P. H.
We always shop here as staff are brill and got in store whatever we need.
Just disappointed with employment dept. For slow delivery of contract for my wife, after successful interview and therefore had to mis training day and then told not required.
P. L.
Used their argos facility inside. Very easy. Thanks
G. R.
Car park is awful. only one door in and out if you like crashing your trolley into other trolleys whilst fighting to get in a shop then this is for you. Foe those brave enough to use the upper car park you are rewarded by an endlessly broken escalator. 3 months and counting. Was a great shop after refit has gone down hill no maintenance and that car multi storey thing is the worst rickety leaky peace of s#@te ever made who signed that off! Finally all non free range chicken breasts are inedible.
J. W.
Big Sainsbury's...very cold all around the homewares ,clothing & Xmas stuff tonight ,I mean really cold !
Otherwise an uneventful Sainsbury's shop & a short queue at the till which is what you want !
D. C.
A very good place to shop, the layout is very simple to follow but it still a bit pricey on normal everyday items. Clothing has got a lot better and better sizes if not in store online.
L. T.
Only came for clothing...but there was a fantastic range. Very impressed. Parking was tricky due to building work and very busy.
J.
Love Sainsbury's. My favourite supermarket
P. P.
This is the only major Sainsbury store in Northampton now the Grosvenor Centre branch has closed and is located in the Sixfields area of the town just of the ring road
P. F.
Nicely organised. Not too much queuing
L. B.
Nothing particularly special about this Sainsbury's! There is an Argos inside and a few other services. Make sure to check out the world foods isle: tinned goods, spices, and pulses are better value than own-brand stuff.
Artisan bread gets marked down around 18:30, maybe earlier. The plant-based fridge section is pretty good as well - they expanded it recently.
A. O.
Sainsbury had a great reputations. I dreamt enjoy shopping for clothing and household items, never mind the food.Great quality fruit vegetables and flowers. The bread and pastries often made in store. With Valerie pasterries cakes for luxury afternoon tea. Free parking, in store cafe and garage. Click and collect works well and delivered food usually had good used by dates.
d. O.
Love sainsbury's and tu.
k. k.
We are so glad that we have store close by that stays open till late. You can always pop in very early or late hours to do last minute shopping. Nice and tidy store always.
P. A.
Great place to shop. It's got most things you need also sells electrical n clothes. Around good shop. Close to town for busses n taxi too..
i. L.
Lovely store and very clean
C. W.
Was a quick visit as only wanted a few things and got what I wanted
J. d. P.
I like this Sainsbury’s. It’s spacious but not too big and the restaurant is decent. Nice added extra is the Argos which is handy for the odd item
E. D.
Good wheelchair access and parking ease of shopping if you need help the staff are more than happy too . Good disabled toilets and separate baby changing room .there is a timpsons on site and a maths room for children and on site is a petrol station
A. N.
This is a very large Sainsbury's store in Northampton with almost very wide range of products available. It also has a Lloyds Pharmacy and clothes section in this store. There is a decent size roofed car park for customers. Opposite/next it also has petrol station.
R. M.
Parking was easy, shop was not too busy, but some stock was a little low
S. M.
Shop inside is clean, well stocked and the staff are very helpful.
Would've been 5* but the parking bays are extremely narrow and the roundabout outside is very congested.
P. C.
Spacious, tidy and orderly with pleasant, polite and helpful staff. A very positive shopping experience.
b. c.
Wider aisles than some competitors makes it easier to navigate though deep lower shelving means to hard to reach many items. Can be draughty and colder near the checkout area, especially by the higher number checkouts.
A. D.
A wonderful place to shop everything is well laid out and food variety is extensive and fresh produce is excellent covid requirements are stringently observed
S. H.
Was shopping today in your Sixfeilds Northampton store ...
After doing my shopping I packed the car up went to leave and the car wouldn't start ..
After trying to push and bump start the car a member of your staff who was managing the cue ...came over asked if I need some help .
When I said my car isnt starting as the battery is flat....hecwhent and got his own car from the car park so I could jump start mine with jumps leads via his 😁
I didnt unfortunately get his name ...
But I'd like to pass on my thanks and appreciation to him again ..plus let his Store Manager know what great customer service his member of staff gave me especially in these current times ... well done team 🥇🥇🥇😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
C. M.
Massive store with pretty much anything you can imagine, from clothes to electronics to kitchenware to food. Some good deals a lot of the time. Very competitive prices.
M. M.
Very polite and helpful staff, quite good choice of products, large car park.
C. C.
After hearing in the news there were issues, I popped in after a few years absent. I was impressed and will be popping in more often. You can always find a space in the car park too
L. f.
Hi great supermarket but slightly on the dear side
R. P.
Quality items plenty of choice and pleasant staff with easy parking minimal queues at cashier's go ahead top up those nectar points!!!
I. B.
Very big and good place. You will find everything you will need. 👌 Different shops and varieties.
C. U.
Great store. You can get everything here . Some things you can definitely get cheaper elsewhere but still a great store. Good quality mens clothes.
S. L.
Efficient click and collect service been a life saver for elderly in laws during the pandemic.
J. W.
Really well stocked store and had everything in that we needed.
D. C. B.
Very large shop, great selection, a little pricey, the car park looks like it is an airport terminal. Very dingy, but large car park. There is also a "while-you-shop" car washing service.
T. B.
Always easy whether I need a lot or just a few bits, staff are friendly and they sell pretty much anything, especially now with argos inside the store, can find absolutely anything I need!
E. C.
Weekly shop some vouchers don't work as they stock different types of same things and not the ones you can use voucher for. Sometimes short dates on fresh produce
L. H.
Fantastic choice considering the problems supermarkets are having.
J. S.
Does what it says on the box!!!
Staff on the tills are very happy, chatty and tidy
N. H.
Well lit and spacious modern supermarket. Could of done with better signage for the various concessions within. Looking for Lloyds Pharmacy and only found it by chance
J. K.
Great place to shop, little expensive but good quality.
m. c.
Went to Sainsbury's at Six Fields Northampton. Very large Store with plenty of parking..sells clothes also. Cafe on first floor
g. b.
Clean tidy and most items available
M.
First supermarket I ever took my husband to that he 'quite likes' 🤣
A. a. C. A. U.
Easy access to petrol station
I.
Large store on 2 levels, escalator and lift to first floor shops and upper floor carpark. Friendly staff, clean store, normally well stocked plus this store has an Argos.
G. R.
Car parking offers narrow spaces and high risk to customers entering and leaving parking area.Constant harisment from foreigners selling car washing in car park area. Sainsburys need to consider whether is adding value to their store image
.
T. V. G.
Great shopping experience even in these crazy times, safe clean and plenty on offee
L. D.
Didn't shop today but cafe is great, very busy but plenty of pleasant staff, food looked good and the strawberry pavlova looked fab.
T. W.
Car park always seems to be busy. A lot of self service tills and only one basket trap which can be a pain. Cafe is good
S. W.
A great place to shop, loads of choice and always well stocked. Plenty of parking too. Staff are always friendly.
J. L.
Parking has leaks in the roof so you get soaked by accumulated rain water. Would appreciate if they look at this.
B. G.
A great supermarket incorporating Argos as well so items an be collected with ease. With fresh produce and a chemist on site and two storey parking and a cafe'.
C. C.
Its ok, shopping trolley area is like something out of a post apocalyptic film though.
R. H.
Store has a good open layout not much you can't find when you need it especially with the argos in store now too.
P. R.
It ok but busy at times
M. J.
MASSIVE superstore on 2 levels with a restaurant and some health services upstairs. Also downstairs you have an Argos, a timpsons and an education centre for children where they can join maths or English sessions for a fee. Definitely a supermarket where you can do much more than just your shopping.
P. S.
Too few staff on the check outs, which lead to excessive waiting time at the self service tills. Not good if you only pop in for a couple of items
D. T.
I really like this sainsburys. They always have a good choice of proucts. The car park is plenty big enough and there are a good amount of parent and child spaces which is nice to see.
L. F.
Great shop for food, clothes and an in house Argos also has a restaurant.
H. S.
We when purely to look at the clothing. Tu clothing very good quality. 25% at the moment so worth a visit. Spend £25 and got loads.
F.
Good social distancing due to large isles. Staff always friendly.
P. N.
I like shopping at Sainsbury's as I always get exactly what I want without the need to go to other supermarkets to finish weekly shop. Sainsbury's is the only supermarket I can purchase Spenda which is important for me as a diabetic as this is only alternative I can use
B.
Has an argos store inside so it's easy for pick up items and shop at same time.
A. S.
Good quality store. Pretty much all items you would expect without being too large. Clean, well managed and maintained.
s. m.
Excellent quality this shop
G. D.
Due to silly people over buying and stock piling goods the shelves in sainsburys at six fields northampton looked like a war zone the poor staff have to take the brunt of this from people who cant get what they want but they keep on smiling good on you staff of sainsburys
G. H.
Love shopping here . Need more parent parking , as none kid car park there . There is always about 10 disabled parking unused..
M. S.
Usually would be 5 star but not while they are refurbishing the car park
A. P.
Such a great big store. You can everything you need from clothes to home to food etc. Staff always helpful and short queues
P. W.
When this place has fully functional moving walkways & the alarm is not going off, it's not a bad shopping experience. Relatively good selection of products & good doughnuts
E. J.
Average super market , no different to all the rest of the top five super markets, make you think you are getting good value for money, when really your not. Can't beat aldi.
A. M.
a decent sainsburys has a good range in all areas, bonus of having an argos inside the store. Definitely worth downloading the nectar app for bonus points
C. K.
The atmosphere is superb and very clean, I am empress with the space between the shelves which is ideal in this current circumstances.
R. Z.
Very stocked, well set out, helpful staff and nice atmosphere.
N. P. 2.
Relatively packed petrol station
S. C.
The best.
J. S.
Can't knock the place, staff are always helpful and there's a great mix of value and quality and some pretty niche ingredients to be found
D. S.
Big , nice , good prices ...
A. G.
Brilliant shop lots of great items and at great prices something for everyone.. From baby to adult.. Food clothes toiletries even a chemist and very good advice.. Also in there argos
M.
Huge store with plenty of parking in the multi story they added when it was expanded. I'd give the cafe a miss though as the service is usually very slow there, with the food being just ok.
C. T.
Really solid place to shop, large selection and staff always so friendly and helpful
S. M.
Good customer service
Y. D.
Good choices of items
S. H.
Customer said great experience today. Saturday 6PM. Nice to her food feed back.
M. H.
Well organised for covid shopping. Great choice of all items nice and clean store
G. G.
Pretty large store has most things you may need, nice bakery here and not to badly priced
B. G. W.
Friendly staff, good range of products though some places seem to.have better deals on at the moment. Had some recent modernization which is lovely. Bright and airy
N. G.
Always a nice fresh feel to this store, it "feels" clean
K.
Sainsbury's, great place for weekly shop, would give 5 stars but at times the shelfs can be a little empty.
J. H.
Following press releases and email from your MD I intend to be on the doorstep at 7am tomorrow morning Thursday 18th March for "Elderly Hour" Can you please confirm that this will be taking place - The phone line seems to be down so cannot get through that way....
I. H.
Food OK, but for me and you seem to have this problem in most restaurants, you have to pay extra for what is reasonable cheap food, vegetables! And that is very annoying
C. V.
Good store have some great selection
j.
Good place to shop and handy argos is in store 2. Parking is not so great
N. B.
Hands down best Vegan fake meat selection ever in a UK supermarket. They do it all.
G. C.
It's a Sainsbury's. 3 stars for parking difficulties at this time of posting. Otherwise great location.
S. W.
Nice big airey store-plenty of shopping space, plenty of checkouts and plenty of parking.
I. K.
Great choice of products and mostly competitive prices plus lots of promotions and reductions also have a petrol station next to the store. good location next to Lidl, Boots and close to Matalan and Hobbycraft
J.
Very nice, clean and spacious
D. R.
Good store good staff but do you expect people to queue because you keep to few tills open ,you leave the door open to alldi and liddle who open tills when they see people queue ing
A. B.
Very good selection of food.
N. G.
Lots of extras to buy as well as food. I store Argos shop is great as well.
L. R.
Shopping is good but parking at the moment is horrendous, think i will give it a miss until work on the carpark is finished
J. S.
nice store, parking alittle unconventional
K. P.
Got a good range of items.
Store could do with being cleaner.
S. M.
Good supermarket lots of choice. But has an unpleasant sewage smell when entering the shop, on more than one occasion
M. H.
What’s to say about Sainsbury’s
B. S.
If you are looking for tescos tbis isnt the place, its sainsburys. Massive sign at the front gives it away
S. A.
No problems today with masks being worn and distancing a bit better.
C. F.
Has everything you need and great quality food. Great home and clothing section and toys birthday bits..
N. O. K. M.
Nice place to shop
D. B.
good clean layout in-store Argos, toilets, baby change, lots of parking
M. S.
Good place to shop for all essentials, clothing, homeware, electrical, food and a cafe to relax.
G. T.
I felt very safe, everything was set out for the safety of customers and staff 4 stars.
P. B.
Very good!
A. E.
Plenty of room to shop and keep the distance.
Good up of tea in cafe.
G. B.
Staff are always pleasant and extremely helpful. Wouldn't shop anywhere else
S. D.
A very large well run store sadly no food bin for the starving cats and dogs so people can donate food for them.
D. R.
Looks very handy to have Argos here.
H. T.
Generally great supermarket but often the fresh produce has very short dates and goes off very quickly
R. M.
One of the big supermarkets. Great service.
T. B.
Small, cramped cafe. It took ages to be served.
The store did not have a particularly great selection of liquors either.
This store compares unfavourably with large Sainsbury's in other towns.
A. D.
Stopped by to use the chemist, lots of staff insuring we're all covid secure etc
M. T.
Not bad ,don't go very often as parking a nightmare
P. O.
Good range of foods but the staff could do with being more engaging with their customers and less chatting to each other avoiding said customers
B. W.
Clean, covid safe and relatively quiet when I went, 11am on a weekday
A. B.
Large store with a great selection of produce. Also contains an argos
A. C.
Well stocked with most things
M. C.
Good store, well laid out. Parking spaces though are just like other supermarkets and are too tight getting dents and scratches.
B. S.
Keep moving stuff around in the shop and can never bloody find anything....
D. K.
Staff really helpful. Really clean and food great.
T. B.
Great shop. Everything you need, they sell..
G. B.
One of the better stores and a good argos store inside too
P. E.
Enjoy shopping here.
G. R.
terrible multistorey carpark, escalators rarely work, lighting in car park never works. A poorly maintained store, was good when first opened.
L. T.
Excelent in every way except, the odd seats for disabled people - like me - would be a lovely touch in such a large store.
M. M.
Staff great! Prices very reasonable! Parking great! Facilities great! In other words a great place to shop!
F. B.
Staff always helpful and welcoming, great products from clothes to produce and meats, their TU clothing line is fresh and affordable.
G. J.
Usual weekly shopping, glad there was toilet roles and people hadn't been silly here
A. F.
richard the gaffer is a don. DOesnt half go on about running though
A. B.
All the usual supermarket fayre of which I found very easily but the ready meal section leaves something to be desired......Anything you want as long as its curry......disappointing.
W. S.
Help full even when they don't stock it
K. H.
Very broad range of products .. excellent parking facilities.
m. l.
Was ok has argos in side
A. C.
Ample parking limited to 2 hours due to the proximity of the football ground.
Large store with Tu and Argos.
S. P.
Great place to buy your groceries and maybe get a few other things too as there is an argos store inside as well.
K. G.
My go too shopping place has everything i ever need and more.
Love that place
C. S.
Great store with big selection of food and home wares .
M. S.
Very big store, has a home section and clothing section, amazingly helpful staff who are very polite.
D. C.
All in all the shop is good but the car park is ridiculous. How they think there is enough room between spaces is beyond me.
J. R.
A bit busy tonight but all the tills were open so no queues.
K. M.
Good for a large shop, but sometimes shelves can be lacking goods.
D. S.
Been going to sainsbury's for years good food and great staff.
M. R.
Visited argos in sainsbury's , no crowding , great social distancing
H. M.
Very well and clearly stocked. quick checkout with options for self checkout or plenty of manned tills. Spacious carpark
J. B.
Products lot more expensive than other supermarkets.
G. B.
Busy but we'll managed and clean store
T. V.
Very good. Very quick as well, I had to ex-change a skirt for a different one.
A. S.
The frozen vegetarian/vegan section looked worse for wear but the fridge vegetarian/vegan section was impressive.
S. O.
Great store, easy to locate item's, affordable and helpful staff
C. S.
I work here, they let me have two weeks off for our holiday in Creta
N. E.
A lot of building work going on so less carparking places. Looks like Argos could be going?
D. U.
Well, it's Sainsbury's, what do you expect?
M. E.
Quite decent store with a wide range of food and clothing options
R. R.
Good produce. Average price range. Lots if variety. Easy parking.
S. V.
Whilst maybe not the choice of Tesco there is a better selection of fresh produce. Non grocery items also in abundance.
P. D.
Lovely staff whenever you go. Huge range and I especially love the clothes & homeware
T. B. L.
Amazing supermarket you can find everything in one place which no happens with others supermarkets in NORTHAMPTON.
H. J.
Clean and tidy store. Everything is easy to find and if you need any help there's always a staff member waiting on hand
K. D.
Covid standard are high the only thing that let's them down are the customer not keeping distant.
R. F.
Great food wonderful store shame about the car park
B. B.
all day breakfast is spot on
