I did a review of Waitrose a few years ago, and I thought I’d update it by doing another one solely focused on the new and refurbished ‘Waite and Rose Cafe’. This cafe was actually pretty good value (to me anyway), with two sandwiches, two crisps packets, two desserts and two drinks coming to £14.95. What I will say is that on the surface, this cafe seems quite small in terms of tables and chairs compared to the old cafe. However, with the added booths to seat more people, this did accommodate to the old capacity of the cafe. There is an order and pay point, alongside a collection point next to this. I found the stock of savoury snacks and sandwiches to be a little sparse. Despite this, I did find something I liked to eat, and it was in the middle of lunch rush. The sweet treats had their own island in the middle and there was plenty of choice there. It was all wrapped up in separate plastic packets, although due to the pandemic this made sense for sanitising purposes. I found to be missing the tray holder/conveyor belt-type shelf, as the downgrade to a smaller sandwich fridge, (despite being near the till), made it difficult to carry the tray over to the paying counter as I had to shelf to rest the tray on, especially if you are buying heavy food items or glass bottles for drinks. Overall, was the refurbishment needed? Absolutely! It definitely feels more modern and sophisticated. They have only just reopened from when I visited a few weeks ago. What I would say is that the sweet treats island is a star feature, however more could be done in terms of the old homemade hot food they used to serve, (such as a sausage bap which is now bought externally and warmed up), and the space to rest your tray if carrying heavy drinks and a lot of food.

One of staff is so rude !!! I think her name is Jackie, 40-50 years old ,skinny ,dark long hair,she always works on flowers section.never met that rude person like her.!!!! I don’t think she supposed work in Waitrose! We paining much more money instead to shop in Lidl Aldi etc. .Manners please !!!! You have to train your stuff or let them go!! King Regards

My first visit to this store. Ample parking available and shop quietly busy with no long queue at checkout. Shelves well stocked and many staff on the floor checking BBD's. I considered that the prices were raised compared with comparable products in other Supermarkets. E.g. Charlie Bingham meals, even on a reduction were more expensive than the CoOp I was in yesterday. I secured all I needed.

When shopping for a weekend treat you can't beat the posh shop! Good tip is their free "waitrose food" magazine. Purchased a great rib of beef joint this last visit. Didn't get z pick after roasting as it wasn't around long enough!

They have some lovely, unique products and you can also pick up decent deals. Nice, spacious isles. Very helpful staff. Always a pleasure to shop here. Some stuff you can get cheaper elsewhere, but we've always found the fruit and veg last a bit longer.

Small, but perfectly formed. Always has a brilliant range of food and produce. By far the best range of chilled vegetarian and vegan food in town. The staff are always polite, and you never have to wait long at the tills. Currently operating with very efficient Covid measures, making everything feel safe. A pleasant shopping experience!

Its rep for being a snobish shop is totally unfounded, prices not just competitive but even cheaper than some local supermarkets and at least they've chosen to keep more personal tills and not gone the way of self serve shambles, new layout is crisp and clean and items are at a nice height

Great supermarket, good choice of quality products and not expensive as many think. The essentials range is well priced although I have to wonder why some products are called essential. The only odd thing is the amount that items that are at their sell by date are marked down to; it's almost as though they don't want to sell them. Still it's great they ditched the 5p plastic bags, I am waiting for a more extensive range of fruit and veg without plastic packaging.

On Tuesday of this week I was visiting my mother at Brampton view where she lives in a bungalow for the elderly, I noticed a couple of J Lewis employees leafleting a new service that they have launched, to help elderly, & disabled in the area to obtain dry goods they may need from the store. My mother used this service the next day & ordered various products, all of which were delivered within a couple of hours, only one item was incorrect, and this was only as she hadn’t been clear in her order, this item was taken back and the correct item was returned within half an hour!. She ordered by calling the Kingsthorpe branch which answered promptly, although I understand you can also use a dedicated service by visiting there website. Would like to say a big thank you to all at Waitrose on behalf of my mother , many thanks indeed. M Ryan

Love this place to core.. the location is in main road from bus station. Good parking place. By dropping pound in the trolley can get one to shop inside store. Wheel chair access is available. Fresh bouquet flowers, pots, good wines and alcohols, varieties of fruits and vegetables across world is available. Groceries , milk varieties, bucket Greek curds.. meat and fish loads of varieties. Butchers in the counter will give super cut as desire and must say good staff. Cheese varieties is vast with bakery products. And good discounts each day. Free recipe books available to pick. And small cafe at one corner which on membership will give a free coffee... and sit out place to sip hot coffee with news paper and open glass window to have beautiful outside view. Self billing counters are available. With membership card discounts and points are added during billing and can also get a magazine on x pound billing.. :)

Good fresh produce, bread, cheese, wine and real ales. It's clean & tidy and usually well stocked. There are loos and a small cafe plus click & collect at customer services. C-19 measures are as good as you'd expect given the size of the store - people wearing masks thinking that they are in some way exempt from guidance are still a pain. I'm still disappointed that so many branded and own-brand products contain non-RSPO palm oil, and having contacted customer services had to listen to a "We're working towards..." platitude. Car park is horrible.

This our nearest Waitrose and our first stop for groceries. It's a decent sized supermarket and bigger than both Market Harborough and Daventry stores. The staff/partners are friendly and helpful as you expect from Waitrose. Love it.

Used to love it here, I stopped coming to wait rose after they introduced free coffee. Since they did this I won't go in as it has brought in the types that are in there just for free coffee. I would think this has lost them a lot of genuine customers who don't even use the free coffee. Get rid of the free coffee.

Today my 4 yr old grandaughter got told off by a security guard for standing in my stationary trolly. I am more than capable of watching and making sure she didnt fall over the trolly. She wasnt messing around she was just stretching her legs getting comfy again before sitting back down. She burst into tears in shock at this stranger coming up to her and telling her off. I do not need a silly little man to tell me or my grandaughter off if she had been sitting on the edge or messing around i could have understood his concern. In future please mind your own business please.
