Always visit on Monday and Friday market days, normally with group of friends at Bernies cafe which is superb. Wide choice of quality coffees and food, really sociable and friendly and we all look forward to the banter with Bernie. Other stalls include Ian with quality array of food, meats, cheeses etc and Debbie with great selection of pet foods.

Love it, very friendly and although small it is worth a visit.

Not many stalls here today but weather wasn't brilliant so could have put people off.

Good food & beer, plenty of available places to sit & mardle.

Aylsham market on a Friday, its like the old days of market towns, fruit and vegetables, plants and fish, locals and tourists all milling about, meeting up and chatting. A really nice atmosphere and some parking as well

Not as it used to be. The coffee is ok though and dogs are welcome.

Pretty market square with bakeries and the town hall has craft sales. Black boys pub to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere.

Great 👍Market Town better when pubs open

A nice market, it was small when I visited but it was in winter. The plant stall had some nice plants. The cafe stall was popular.

What few stalls are there are all very good, the trouble is that the town council never seem to understand or want to help make this bigger. By closing down 1 Road once a week you could have a much larger market which also coincides with Aylsham auctions ( not during the crisis) which would help bring in a larger footfall to the town which in turn would hopefully help the shops/cafes which are already present.

I don't really know what to say about Aylsham Market Place but Google would like me to say something. It is actually owned by the Blickling Estate, the impressive Jacobean stately home a mile or so away.
Aysham has a market place.Nowadays It is a place to park cars when there isn't a market going on. Market day is Monday and Friday.
There are two banks, two pubs, one town hall, a bakery, pharmacy, Co-op, restaurant, news agent, butchers and electrical retailer. Extensive renovation has taken place at the old Clarke's business and we will have a new shop or two there soon.Tucked up the corner near the Co-op is the quite large Church of St. Michael's.
Sorry if I have forgotten to mention anyones business.
Red Lion Street runs along side the market place with small independent shops such as cafe, barbers, telescope shop and bike shop and many others. Get a tattoo or buy some vapes. You can't make a bet, the betting shop closed.
I live in Aysham so I'm hardly going to say it's rubbish. Come and take a look and buy something. Buy a telescope, get your hair cut and ride away on the bike you bought from the bike shop. You could just go to the three pubs we have and get a taxi home or get the steam train to Wroxham.
Let's not forget two fish and chip shops, a chinese takeaway and several cafes just a few yards from the market place. There is also a large Budgens and a big Tesco a bit further away.. All this seems to make Aylsham sound like a metropolis. It isn't. It's a small town with a lot in it.
Take your pick. You can also take a shovel as well if you buy it but the industrial area is a bit of a walk from the town centre. However it is a pretty walk down to the river where the industrial eastate is based. Walk down Red Lion Street turn right into White Hart Street, and follow Gas House Hill to Millgate where the old mill is situated by the small river.
Hardly the Hanging gardens of Babylon but it's pleasant enough walk and it's home turf to me. When you eventually see the enormous silos you know you have found the industrial area but they are hidden by trees until you find them.
Did you guess the names of the two pubs that are no more by the street names? You can easily find the White hart because the door on the street still says "Smoke Room" on the glass.

I came here when the Monday market was on. Aylsham is a pretty little village with quaint narrow streets. The market is small, just a few stalls selling plants, everyday household items, clothing, books and fresh produce. Nice friendly stallholders.

A lovely variety of places to eat or meet friends for coffee after your morning shopping. Everything you need in one town. Dentists, doctors, hairdressers, butchers, schools, dry cleaners, churches, charity shops, but sadly -- no hardware store !

One of the few markets still going, usually has a general food stall, plants and such, some artisan things - I think there is a farmers market every once in a while. As the square is usually for parking, that can be hard to get a spot, so park (free) round the back near the feathers pub and walk though is best.

I need the every thing I find there

Market every Monday weather permitting. Not a big market but a good gardening stall, household goods & adult clothes. Free parking short walk away but does get busy. Variety of local & charity shops nearby.

Aylsham has three weekly markets and one monthly. The Friday market in the Market Place is quite small but the Monday market at the same venue is much larger with a good variety of stalls. Also on Friday mornings I'd the town's Country Market, a cooperative that offers a wide range of home-produced food and crafts.
The monthly farmers market is held on the first Saturday and majors on local farm food, all of which is produced within a 30 mile radius of the town.

Nice to see a small market town still holding a market every week. Although the market itself is small it's certainly worth a visit if you combine this with a visit to the town itself.

Not quite as many as pre lockdown but good stuff anyway. Hopefully One Foot in the Groove jazz Band will be back in the Spring for the Farmer's Market.
R. P.
A market in the Market Square, twice a week with different stalls. Just be aware of the cars still trying to get through.

Prosciutto is sold at 6 × the amount, and for ¼ the price its equivalent price at Tesco. Therefore, this place is perhaps the best market I've ever been to.
K. C.
The market place offers parking and is the centre of Aylsham. A few shots, bank intact all the usual for a small market town. Nothing spectacular but serves its purpose.
C. A.
Really liked it quaint small town, will go again on a market day.
