Reviews of Norwich Market
M. M. C.
I had a great time eating delicious food and buying some whimsy at Norwich Market.
Different cuisines flavours.
Fresh produce vegetables and fruits.
Very good coffee place.
Very clean everywhere in the city!!
People are very friendly and kind.
M. M.
Right in the city centre, always come to the Cambodia stall for my noodles as she has the best selection. Also enjoy Lucy's fish and chips. My husband used to buy flowers for me here as well if he was working in the city. Have bought dog beds here in the past 2 large for £12 in 2013!
Definitely something for everyone. Pop-up stalls are very welcome to try out for a cheap rate.
Public toilets on the left next to the Garnet pub.
My favourite post box is at the top of the steps at the top. So beautiful. Lovely memorial at the top facing City Hall, setting area just below.
J. W.
Such a clean, extremely well laid market. It was so nice to see as a quick visit today, and certainly a place where we will visit again whilst still in the area. It has a great variety of different stall and a great varied food selection. There is certainly something there for everyone. We got a takeaway curry at the Indian Feast, and it was absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to visit again later in the week.

I remember visiting as a child and now returning as an adult for nostalgia reasons, I wasn't let down, some great little food stalls here, the fruit and veg stall is great too! Many friendly faces! Oh and there is a super cute little plant stall called botanical House, full of cacti, moss and other fresh plants! Definitely worth a visit!
N. B.
One of the best places to visit in Norwich.
Full of artisan food stalls, traditional food stalls. Plus many others including hoover parts to beer.
Over 800 years old making it one of the oldest markets in the UK. Plus, it won market of the year 2019.
N. G.
Too many great cuisines to choose from! I need to visit the city again, but bought bread as a cat-sitting thank you for a neighbour and great pastries for my brunch and to take home for my kids (👍 from them) from Bread Source, a delicious Prawn Empanada and salad from Cocina Mia and delicious berry smoothie from Fresh, all were winners
T. G.
Always loved our market place you will find so many unique stalls from all over the world here. From street food , traditional fish and chips ,florists, pet supplies, fashion, crafts and so much more.
Bargains to be found all run by a super friendly bunch I highly recommend you take a look if you are in the Norwich city centre✅

Norwich is such a great place, but the outdoor market is just amazing. Lots of huts and covered stalls offering just about every kind of street food you could possibly imagine.
The vibe here is wonderful, with street entertainment (buskers) to keep you entertained as you browse the shops and treat yourself to lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants available.
Always something new to see, parking plentiful. Plus the Castle in the middle if you fancy a bit of a history intake too.
v.
Amazing little street food cafes and restaurants. Lots to choose from. General cleanliness is OK considering its an market it some flimsy roofs. Can be a little cramped but the wood is worth it. Some nice other little shops likes the army shop. Worth a quick look around
M. E.
Great market. One of my favourites as there's a wonderful selection of street food from all over the world and it's easy to find your way around. Stallholders are friendly and helpful. Always a must when I visit Norwich.
A. E.
A lot variety of best street food from many countries, local product's vintage clothing, local fresh meat, bakery ,old console games, watch repair and much more. It has toilet's
S. M.
Stunning little market in the heart of historical Norwich. It hosts a variety of stalls selling everything from fabric to fish, fruit to flowers 💐 clothing, Chinese goods and chips 🍟 well organised and easy to navigate. Enjoy your visit.
H. T.
Some of the stalls are closed or operating under strict Covid conditions, but I found a wonderful pack pack and I managed to understand how my favourite fish stall manages to stay in business. So I had a good time, all in all 😊
C. J.
Great market right in the heart of Norwich. There's everything from a butchers to key cutters, and an Asian grocery store to a pet shop. If you're looking for something to eat there are fantastic food and drink stalls as well so it's always a good bet if you're hungry but not sure what you're in the mood for
P. C.
Looking for something to do recently on a wet afternoon in Norwich, l came across the market. I found the market to have plenty of interesting stalls, as well has a good selection of food takeaways from all over the world. I would recomend visting here.
R. T.
Clean, and the different types of food available was impressive. Nice basic tea or coffee for under £1 was found at more than one stall also.
T. S.
Such a good market! So many different stalls with great food, some good window shopping and an awesome vintage clothing stall!! Would definitely recommend
K. J.
Very disappointing as quite few of the stalls were shut. Mostly food stalls selling hot food and drinks. We will go back in a few months time, maybe better weather will see more stalls open.
i. b.
Would have been a 5 but lots of stalls not open at the moment, could of course be covid. A varied market, some great street food, clothes stalls, always lots of people and something to buy.
P. R.
Norwich market was another excellent experience. Variety of different stalls. Fresh fruit and veg. Very polite 👍clean👍 and tidy💯👍🥰Reasonable prices👌
A. G.
I mainly visit for the various hot food stalls and dessert stalls. Love the variety, i know there will probably be something there for me whatever I fancy eating on a given day.
S. “. T.
Lovely market. With some nice stalls. Very good fruit and veg stall with helpful and friendly staff. And a good fish munger near by.
D. J.
Loved it. Lots of small permanent covered stalls for crafts, takeaway food and drinks, cooking supplies and ingredients from across the globe, fabrics and materials all sorts of stuff. After a browse and a few purchases we sat outside in the lovely, mild for November, sunshine. Recommended.
B. S.
This market is amazing, so many shops and stores, and good food everywhere. We bought lots of Christmas gifts and enjoyed the ambiance!
P. R.
Excellent maket to get all types of food items, different vegetables, different regions food eat in or take away, not only food but different items like house hold and clothing. different regional stores Asian and other.
D. R.
Loads of little street food vendors with fantastic food. If you’re hungry grab some delicious Thai, Chinese, or UK food from the small shacks. Real authentic food. 👍🏻
J. R.
Lovely fish stall, fresh flowers- some quite exotic. Fresh vegetables- lovely choice, mixture of mushrooms not available in your average supermarket, unusual and exotics, inspires cooking. To mention but a few. I dont live local so when i come i love to come for inspiration. No other market like it
S. M.
If you are looking for an amazing selection of fresh fruits and vegetables then look no further than Mick and Debs stall on the front of Norwich Market. A fantastic family run business which is a must for fruit & veggie fans.
J. P.
A good vibrant market in the city centre and i have never been disappointed by the fresh fruit and vegetables or meat and fish and a wonderful selection of cheeses and herbs and spices always worth a visit when I'm here
G. P.
After hours but plenty of casual footfall.
j. s.
Wow what a find. Street food, quirky little stalls and vintage clothes. Can recommend Lucy's Fish and Chips if you are Gluten Free. Went to a lot of trouble to sort and cook order. Even have GF vinegar 10/10. The Chinese was also good, rice and three toppings for £5. Free toilets too
s. b.
Brilliant day out went by train and the station is right by the river which has a attractive setting. A walk up hill to the town centre which has so many shops and a market that has so many eating outlets selling all kinds of different foods. Well worth the journey which is very comfortable having drinks and light refreshments brought to you like on a plain.
j. h.
Still great for fruit and veg but now is huge for takeaway food - some real gems. And loads of other stuff - a true bustling market, traditional but modern.
L. F.
Fantastic salon for hair & beauty.
Emma is a wonderful therapist & talented hairdresser.
I won't go any where else.
J. R.
We have lovely day in there ❤️🥰
L. C.
Love Norwich Market, out in the fresh air, can't beat it. Great fruit and veg and Army clothing stall. Very Happy to support this Fantastic Market.
S. S.
Luv this colourful well presented stall market. Loads of different foods of the world. All that you fancy is on it really....
A. W.
Delightful being taken out to lunch by my beloved. No sooner off the bus hubby then deciding what to have to eat and then taking the required direction to reach his goal. Pleasing to say chips and mushy peas on the market and on this occasion praised him for his decision. Delicious and thanks for the tasty food off the mushy peas stall.
J. R.
Must be one of the best markets especially as undercover. Great for breakfast or lunch, large bap of bacon and sausages with mug of tea well under £4 .Great meat and fish stalls plus so many other types of business
L. O.
It was ok if you was hungry, lots of eating stalls. Not much else to look at. I did buy a nice cookie 🍪
R. L.
My family and I returned to Norwich Market for lunch ch for a second time and were not disappointed. 'Fresh' serves great Asian and Asian fusion food and fair prices. There are so many other stalls too, each serving their own delicacies. My middle son adores thr roast pork sandwich stall. Visit the food area and let your nose guide you.
O. F.
The best place to buy good veg, bread, fish, meat and if you want to experiment with Far East food the Orient Express is the shop to get anything you need, even cooking tips! Also if you need flowers/flower arrangement or good beer you can get it here as well as a nice lunch with different food to choose from.
P. T.
Cool place, cool People! Great option for anytime you need eat something. Fresh juice, the best coffee in Norwich, so many different kind of cuisines.. depends what you want. I will always go there when I am arround! In the summer easy to chill and sit on grass and eat your food. Good place for families, you g or old people everyone. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options!
M. C.
Love the vast choice of food outlets... excellent food, value for money and friendly faces at Jacket Spuds and more. Lucy's cater for those(like me) who are gluten free. Many of these outlets are providing for those with special dietary requirements. Well done.
F. P.
Brilliant market offering way more than you would expect. So many different food stalls fr chips to noodles to Yorkshire pudding wraps??!? A good opportunity to support small independent businesses
B. J.
We buy all our fruit and veg here. Can't beat it. Mike Debbs stall is excellent.
K. D.
A lovely market. Here you can find something for anyone. Starting from food, flowers, dog beds, candles, wool and much more. Also is a lovely place to go for a walk. Kids will love it too. The market is well organised and clean.
D. Y.
Great historical market with character and atmosphere..
J. B.
A busy market and seems to be thriving although that is probably due to an abundance of the stalls selling fast/take away food. Interesting to wander round. Ice cream stall on a corner served a really nice salted caramel flavour (corner near WH Smith).
S. W.
I went for lunch at the Japanese food stall, I had a pork bun, absolutely lovely.
Then I had a pineapple and coconut drink at the juice stall.
Both definitely on the list for next visit. Other family members went to the noodle stall for their lunch, equally nice but with more flavours to be found.
C. G.
Wonderful array of stalls, opening times can vary but the food is often fantastic. Lovely little community there and always worth a visit :)
S. C.
Some great stalls and nice food. My only issue is that I really dislike the modern huts. I feel that it takes away some of the classic charm that they used to have.
C. D.
A beautiful market town where shops are buzzing and plenty of places to visit. The market has many stalls ranging from butchers, fruit & veg, cakes and patisseries, clothing, shoes, bags, gifts, hardware etc. Lots of places to eat too. Take a visit to Norwich Cathedral. You won't be disappointed!
M. S.
Love it here. Would recommend Bun Box and the pork sandwiches; both delicious. Got some great interesting stalls along the top too.
M. C.
A varied selection of stalls from vintage clothing, haberdashery, a barbers and food and drink.
I recommend the vegan/vege Indian food stall. Also the bottle shop called Sir Toby's has an amazing selection of bottled, canned and draft beer!
J. A.
The market is a fantastic place for an al fresco lunch as it has an amazing selection of different cuisines to choose from - Italian, Thai, Indian, Peruvian, Britsh etc - and there are tables and seats just in from of the council building where you can sit and enjoy it.
The market also has amazing fresh fruit and veg - including the largest cherries I've ever seen - fresh fish and shellfish and meat.
There are also lots of more individual stalls such as LPs, knitwear etc.
A lovely place to browse but the ideal place for lunch.
J. R.
I have been to better in the past but it was a very wet October day. Also it is easy to judge markets from 20 years ago. Romford market in Essex was once a packed bustling hive. Now it is a shadow of its former self.
Norwich is well worth a visit if the whole package is looked at.
N. E.
After reading so much about Norwich Market I was really looking forward to seeing it in person, it's a Lovely big colorful market, I found it quite expensive though and sadly a lot of stalls were closed, but there's a great high street there too so lots to do and see!
J. O.
Whenever we visit Norwich, we wander around the market, there is si much to see! The food is great, from sausages and chips to Chinese, we love it every time. At the top of the stairs there is a little park where you can sit and eat.
J. D.
More and more this market is producing some great independent food stalls. Reasonably priced and of excellent quality.
G. G.
Lots of varied stalls in a slightly cramped area for a group to maneuver. Equally large selection of food and drink stalls offering everything from chips to Indian. I unfortunately can't vouch for the vegetarian or vegan options as nearly all stalls had obvious cross contamination issues. As tends to be the nature of small food stalls.
J. R.
Great market, just about everything on offer. Could even do your weekly food shop here! Lovely street food on offer too. Great place, it won't dissapoint
D. B.
Delightful atmosphere. There was a live performer entertaining an enthralled audience the day we were there. We sat nearby and drank our coffee on the sidewalk - with a good view of passing pedestrians. The market stalls were mostly closed still, due to COVID.
M. C.
Excellent place for various food stalls and interesting unusual stalls plus flowers and fruit
Check it out
B. J.
Absolutely amazing, great food places here a real variety of cuisine. Some fantastic clothing stores where you can pick up some real finds. A great plant store and loads more. Well worth wondering around whenever you are in Norwich.
P.
Love the market, all types of street food available from around the world, some great quirky stalls, with everything from army surplus to hand made soaps.
GREAT FRUIT AND VEG STALL FACING THE SHOPS...YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED
P. S.
Definitely the best place in Norfolk for street food! You can also get a great variety of herbs, spices and loose leaf tea as well as vintage clothing and all sorts of other things. If you get there around 11am it's definitely worth stopping by a stall called "and eat it too", their brookies are amazing.
I. J.
Went to b j s food stall and had a great egg and bacon bap !!! And a mug of tea polite and quick service
T. R.
Really good variety of stalls. Plenty of places to grab a good bite to eat. Was really surprised at the number of places offering gluten free food options
E. C.
In the last ten years this has gone from stalls selling a load of old tat, to a foodie's paradise with lots of meals on offer from all around the globe. Also recommend the fresh fish, cheese, and fruit & veg stalls
M. G.
Norwich market has changed significantly over the years and now seems to feature many ready to eat food stalls, which we far fewer in previous years. Then it had a much more eclectic mix of stalls
t. m.
Has everything you are looking for...
Great varied food stalls....and all spaced well
O. C.
Like a (very) mini Camden Market with all the different food available. Best place in the city for lunch.
T. W.
Great selection of stalls and modern high street shops. Revisiting my home town. A lot has changed in the last 10 years since i last went back. Very vibrant city and has become very cosmopolitan, and with the new forum, wow Great modern architecture.
n. g.
Great big market the best I have seen for over 5-6 years almost all the stalls taken everything you could ask for lovely
A. 0.
I took a silver chain and silver bracelet to the jewellery stall for repairs, they did a great job and even cleaned my other bracelet and chain when I went back, very happy.
S. A.
Interesting surrounding architecture, good stalls with exclusive style. I had a katsu curry which was actually the best ive tasted to date, the sauce was the usual consistency though it had a creamier taste & went well with some crispy onions and garlic sriracha sauce
M. C.
Pretty good place to find a deal a great place for a cuppa and a natter 😀
T. Z.

Love the vast choice of food outlets... excellent food, value for money and friendly faces at Jacket Spuds and more. Lucy's cater for those(like me) who are gluten free. Many of these outlets are providing for those with special dietary requirements. Well done.

S. W.
I went for lunch at the Japanese food stall, I had a pork bun, absolutely lovely.
Then I had a pineapple and coconut drink at the juice stall. …
M. S.
Good mix of stalls, love the choice of food and the vintage stuff too. Even had a key cut!
S. Y.
VERY clean tidy and safe area. Wonderful Selection of traders and produce. Not to be missed if in the Area.
Could do with better/ more Public Conveniences ( Loos) in the area.
D. “. S.
Had the hog roast, and as always, it was absolutely delicious. All the trimmings in a soft roll, which was large. Certainly makes a good lunchtime meal ❤
F.
Love Norwich Market always get what you need. Had new watch strap and battery fitted on one watch and then a link removed from another. No fuss did the job fab🙂👍
T. T.
It was a quick stop over hoping to have a Thai meal at the market . Due to the current pandemic there was no sit down facility . With the damp cold weather we had to seek somewhere else for lunch. Maybe next visit and in better atmosphere. Shame , most stalls were shut in the inside.
A. C.
Famous city centre market with such a good variation of different stalls, if you're wanting breakfast or lunch so many different food stalls, all tastes catered for and good value.
I. P.
Just loved it. Great street food.
M. C.
Lots of variety, great fresh produce. This place is like an affordable Borough Market. Love it.
W. S.
I got some tea at Birchleys in the market and pottered around with my horde. Nice cheese, cushion repairs, nice cakes, eyebrow plucking, it's a market. What makes it stand out to me is the cooked food. I had a lovely biriani and at another stall, my son had a really great pizza. My daughter had the world's nicest hot dog with home made ketchup, my wife had a lovely chicken kebab and my daughter has a thing for some Chinese food at the stall there.
The anglo-saxons got oppressed by the nasty Normans, but hundreds of years later the Norman market is worth a visit.
N. E.
A street food stall called Delight served an amazing halloumi wrap. You could taste how fresh it was and its a stand out for healthy and delicious food. Its suitable for meat eaters and vegitarians.
C. B.
One of the country's best open air markets. An amazing selection of stall and such an array of food on offer. You could eat from all corners of the world here.

Lovely atmosphere friendly stall holders delicious food and drink what more could you want?
S. C.
Being a Tuesday alot of stalls were closed..But worth the effort if you want food..Avoid lunch times though.
E.
Lots of stalls closed and some selling really random stuff, but overall it's a nice place with a good vintage section at the back
J. L.
Really lovely place lots off food from different place in the world and some other shop very good place I love it!!
T. B.
Visited this place whilst on holiday and was really impressed with this market- the variety of food stalls was brilliant with some really interesting cuisines on offer- all good quality and reasonably priced too.
G. F.
It's always made me feel sick standing on angles like that without being able to see the horizon. It's probably a nice market but I just can't go in it.
t. m.
Some of the stalls can be a little pricey, but selling some things you don't see every day. I recommend checking out the Little Red Roaster, for one of the best cups of coffee around.
D. R. O. M.
Very nice place to visit if you are visiting city centre then Nowrich market is best for shopping cheaper stuff. And specially Halaal food.
d. d.
Was lots of stalls...handbags,fruit and vegetables, household, DIY, and lots of stalls with food to eat or take away lots of variety in take away nearly every country was covered by a foodstall...toilets a few seats scattered around....
J. M.
Diverse market place of local venders , a good hub of culture well worth a visit
S.
Great outdoor market although there is cover if it's raining. Wide range of stalls. Lots of food choices. Interesting place to visit in Norwich. 15 minutes from the train station
E. L.
Great choice of street food and lots of quirky little stalls, missing the magic it had twenty years ago, but still a great way to kill half an hour and find some lunch
R. D.
One of the finest markets around, a real hive of independent and creative businesses.
G.
Fantastic food stalls with so much variety and some great retail stalls too.
T. T.
nice little market, many types of food, many pigeons and people.
a. m.
Great if you won't a good selection of cooked takeaway foods and vintage clothing. There are some lnteresting shops close by
A. “. T.
Great diverse market, plenty of stools and great options for food, would highly recommend.
M. C.
We had a Chinese lunch which was amazing .sweet chilli chicken with noodles and tempora vegetables .would add a photo but ate it too quickly. Would return
C. S.
Everything from pet store to food stalls and yarn shop. A vibrant and quirky little market. Closed Sundays.
T. S.
Permanent market. Great for food from around the world and full of other useful stalls. Great place to go if you are visiting Norwich or you live here. Access is easy and OK in the rain. Most stalls are shut on a Sunday.
A. V.
Lots of different street food, some little counters with plants, spices etc. Something different from usual market. Gives such a good vibes to walk through. Good size too, on a nice day's live entertainment near by. Most of the places accept cards and cash. You can find where to hide if it would start raining too as it is all under little tents/ sheds.
J. C.
as a visitor from Colchester ESSEX
on a Kings coaches trip it was an excellent opportunity to see the sights around the market stalls . ect . a great
place to shop .
G. V.
Very good street food at affordable prices
F. M.
A cacophony of smells, sights, and tastes like nothing I've ever seen before in the UK. Incredible experience, would highly recommend.
E. B.
Loads of great stalls...fruit n veg straight from the farm... highly recommend this market
K. E.
Good place to go for lunch. Lots of restaurants to choose from and relatively cost effective.
p. C.
Near to the market was
2 men playing trumpets
1 man playing rock an roll electric guitar,
Listening to the music changed my mood
Was a nice experience
J. A.
Vibrant. Lots of food stalls open. Outside the forum Jamaican music lots of caribbean clothing and artifacts. Great vibe.
D. S.
We love Norwich Market, there truly is something for everyone up and down its colourful corridors. Storeholders care about the products and services that they offer because it is *their* business. Also really good options for something to eat if you want more than a meal deal from a supermarket or coffee shop.
R. F. G.
Brilliant market with a great variety of stalls. It has the usual stuff (groceries, bags, etc.) but more interesting to the visitor is the abundance of different eateries. Certainly all the major national dishes were represented with street food dishes from Italy, Japan, China, India and many others. There's also an excellent cheese shop (Cheese man) which had a wide range of British and continental cheeses. The bakers is also excellent with many breads and sweet treats, as well as a range of flours and homemade granola. Lastly the tea shop (Burley's I think) is with a mention. Here you can get a cup of pretty much any tea you fancy and take home some for later. Very much recommend this market if you like your food and like talk with others who are passionate about food.
K. C.
Really loved Norwich, it had a really nice old world feel about it, lots of cobbled streets and churches and plenty of shops, a really lovely place. The market was lovely too although I hadn't realised it was mainly food stalls. Round the outskirts of the markets there were some traders but generally it was hot food being sold, all of which looked & smelt lovely. I can't comment on the taste as we didn't actually eat but would definitely try something on our next visit. Will go back.
G. J.
The market is nice but most of the stools don't have card payments available yet.
b. s.
The front of the market offers a great choice of fresh fruit veg flowers fish and meat choices there are hidden gems in the middle of the market with some great fast food business and other bespoke establishments, thought the rear of the market can be a little intimidating for less confident people there is usually lots of shall we say the more undesirable aspects of human life spending thier time wasting away this is not true of everyone who visits the rear but there is a down and out vibe to the area and the toilets are to be given a complete miss as they do not feel safe and blue lights to help stop drug taking and they smell. At the very rear at the top is the war memorial gardens very nice but can once again be a stop for those undesirable people.
A. L.
A fantastic selection of different street foods, the vegetarian Indian stall was oit of this world, I had the samosa chat but everything looked and smelt amazing. I also had the Chilean empinada (forgive the spelling) that was also delicious the fresh salsa was awesome.
The fresh veg, fish and flower stalls also looked great with very good selections. Overall I was really impressed and will be back as soon as possible.
K. C.
Such a variety of stalls and an incredible selection of food, you'll be spoilt for choice!
J. G.
So many different stalls that sell food, clothes, vintage souvenirs, quality leather belts, flags, fresh produce and tons more. Only wish more people would set up shop here because it's sad to see some stalls empty or shut.
H. W.
Not to many fruit and veg stalls since covid ,which is a shame. But ones that are there are good 👍
S. P.
It's got it all including some great places to eat. It's an under appreciated gem of Norwich. Put away your preconceptions and give it a visit. You may be surprised.
N. E. L. D.
Great stalls best place to eat in Norwich so much variants really great place to go and open all week long!

My 1st time in Norwich I got lost and ended up finding this market, extremely polite people, the smells coming from the stalls were amazing and everything looked delicious! If you're ever in the area you have to pop in and see this place!
D. L.
Love this place. I've been to many cities in our beautiful country and as yet have not found another permanent market place as clean , tidy and very friendly. Very popular with locals and tourists alike.

One of the best little markets I’ve ever seen. A true gem in Norwich. Plenty of options of freshly cooked food, cookies and cakes and fruits and veggies. You can get some souvenirs as well.

Nice market with lots of different stalls. Brings vibrant colours to centre of city.
k. m.
Good variety of shops and stalls. Lovely laid back vibe.
L.
Worth at least a visit if you're visiting Norwich. Only problem is that most of the shops and eateries close around 3-4 pm
A. X.
I love Norwich Market, the sea food stall is fantastic, and there are other food outlets catering for many tastes. There are some interesting individual shops also. I'm definitely going to miss Norwich 😭
L. A.
Lovely market to look round but lots of stalls shut
m. m.
had a halloumi burger at the falafel and friends and it was amazing, best halloumi burger
S. W.
Many good stalls and always helpful people , great chip's too !!
P. S.
Surprisingly good selection of street food stalls.
B. H.
Most of the stalls were closed, very cramped together, so much so that if folk stopped to look at a stall, it blocked the walkways. Not very disabled friendly.
J. H.
Really impressive fixed market, open daily. Great selection! Especially the amazing street food - which included Asian style Bao Buns, Indian, Fresh bread, Fish and Veg and a variety of others. On the sweet selection...wow!!! Nutella Blondies, Peanut Butter Brownies, Kinder Cookies...good luck making a choice though!
S. B.
Lovely to be able to wander around and see all the different stalls 🤩
V. P.
Lots of different products and foods. Good selection of materials as well.
S. D.
A fun place to mill around and shop for unusual things and eat delicious foods of all types. Surrounded by lots of shops and beautiful surroundings.
J. F.
Food from around the world and more, only down side is lack of seating but plenty of space and steps, love it
i.
Can't get enough of Norwich Market. Delicious food and other products for amazing prices
J. B.
A lovely bustling market with a very large variety of stalls. Clothing, jewellery, fruit and veg, smoothies, hot food and a whole lot more besides. Had a lovely lunch from Fresh and a smoothie from the stall opposite.
J. G.
Great selection of global foods at reasonable prices. Also has many traditional market stalls. We'll worth a visit
J. M.
So much choice. Really good food options and such great people
L. T.
Great little Street market with amazing food options and arts and crafts shops.
M. S.
Always worth a wander around, good selection of street food, Indian, Italian, Chinese, Turkish and traditional jackets burgers and sausages etc. Loved our fruit from here too.
S. L.
Really good selection of street food vendors - huge choice. Pity about the few seedy people (moaning about the UK taking in too many refugees) hanging about outside.
C.
A great place to go exploring if you have time. You can shop, eat and drink.
A. J. (.
Cool permanent market with brilliant food stalls and a range of other things.
Colourful, friendly with a fun vibe it is great, even if it does shut down early.
J. B.
Came for a visit to Norwich. Lovely area in central and easy to find. Came for a nice experience getting some food and something to remember in the future, but most of the shops were closed due to Covid restrictions and some shops being permanently closed, hopefully in the future I'll see this market working in full order!
S. P.
Love the different choice of food, whatever you fancy you'll find it here
C. H.
It was a very rainy day so it was great to be indoors checking out the bargains ✔
D. E.
Great selection of stalls and food places
A. E.
Street food stalls, vintage and ethnic clothing, fruit and veg, electrical accessories, hats, bags, tea from around the world, leather goods, wholefoods....the list goes on. Well worth a visit. An experience on its own. Loved it.
J. V.
Really cool food market, but not much open on Sundays.
L. M.
I love the market, so full of characters, so friendly something for everyone, support your locals, some of these stalls have been here for years. MUSHY PEAS lush, chips cakes everything.

T. T.
Was lovely to walk round such a interesting market and loads of shops unbelievable
Z. C.
I love Norwich Market. In the 27 yrs I've lived here, its always been a hive of activity. Loads of different stalls. Great food stalls. Obviously things over time have changed. When they revamped it about 15 yrs ago, we were worried some of its character would change. But it didn't. And its the people who bring the atmosphere to it. This Market has been here for hundreds of years. And I can't see it being moved in the next hundred at least.
With Covid about, it was great to go back to the market again. It has everything covid safe including track & trace at the food stalls if you stay & eat.
If you haven't visited Norwich Market yet you should. And you're surrounded by our beautiful historical buildings & Norwich Castle overlooks you from its mound.
H.
Very varied and all the food smells amazing!
M. C.
A lovely and vibrant market selling everything from flowers to Covid masks to handicrafts supplies to chips fried in beef dripping (yum).
R. K.
Lots of great food stalls along with the traditional market fare.
p. s.
Amazing breakfast rolls and great service from debs stall. Also bought some lovely egg and tomato rolls and meat pies from stall opposite debs. Service was first class from the young lady that served me 👍
R. O.
Lovely little market city. With little quaint stalls and real Norfolk characters. Recommended if in the city to have a wonder along here especially once lock down is lifted. Vibrant in the heart of the city. One of the nicest clean city’s in England 🏴.
C. P.
Lots of stalls and so much variety, you can get an ice cream, or army surplus or even kids toys. It's a wonderful place of hidden treasures.
B. G.
Great selection of shops and produce. International food offerings and great gift shops. Loved Norfolk Vape Co. So friendly and helpful ☺️
E. E.
Though I have been to this place many a time, this time I got more time to explore there and I enjoyed very well. One can get all sorts of goods , vegetables, fruits and variety continental cuisines.
So it is a feast for eyes and mind.
A. M.
It's a nice friendly market. Lots of different stall's. Not to dear and even if it rains it's under cover. The multistorey car park is close by and there are lots of shops around. It's well worth going..😊
A. B.
Really lovely stalls, plenty of decently priced meals. Quite a lot of world foods stalls and more traditional shops with quality ingredients and items.
r. g.
Amazing place for a market good stalls of different food
S. E.
A wonderful place to eat and buy fresh produce. Can't wait to return
A. L.
Norwich market is ok but need more different stalls to many food stalls which we don't need as a lot about the city already . It was better when we had some clothes stalls so don't use market to much unless I fancy chips out of paper which are amazing .
C. “. G.
Beautiful market with great stalls
M. C.
Pretty good place to find a deal a great place for a cuppa and a natter 😀
b. s.
Love this market for food, cheese, spices and fresh green groceries
C. D.
Norwich Market is good value plenty of shops and stalls to get a bargain and enjoy a coffee in one of the shops plenty of variety to choose from
K. H.
This place is great. Just walk through it. You'll be amazed at the choice of food. It'll get your taste buds twitching.
C. 7.
Quite busy although not back to pre COVID levels. Lots of stalls closed. All depends what you are looking for.
G. G.
The permanent market stalls have added more short order food options...more choices and good prices...My wife and I had an Sicilian Style Pizza for £6...Only drawback not many places to sit and eat the food options.
A. W.
Best outdoor market! Such an amazing variety of food and shops!!! Something for everyone
J. R. B.
Officially the best and probably the oldest outdoor market in Britain!
G. H.
Good varied covered market. Reasonably normal in these crazy times. Some unusual stalls catering for minority tastes e.g. African food products.
Well worth a visit
K. B.
Historic, all year outdoor market. Many individual and diverse stalls. Located in Norwich centre.
D. S.
So much variety at this market, well worth a visit.
P. L.
Norwich is like a pop up book of wonder - turning a corner is like turning a page, you never know who or what your going to meet. The spiritual capital of the Angles and those anti mystical saxons, the stories are etched in Norman stone, and tell of the foundation myths of the English. Edmund and his wolfish resurrection, the wars against the Danes, the neo-classical, Town Hall that Hitler had earmarked for his coronation. Folly and glory, preserved for you and posterity. Visit!
A. k.
All the little bits you need. Some really great stalls. You can get everything, jewellery, lunch, clothes, have your hair cut, fruit &veg, fresh meat, fresh fish, loads of cakes 🎂
Always a lovely happy cheerful atmosphere
A. H.
Good market with a wide selection of stalls
B. C.
Interesting design. Great craft beer shop on site
L. G.
This may be a slightly unfair judgement, because of the overall effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, but I was a bit disappointed with the open-air market. Too many stalls (about 40%) were closed, for whatever reason, which offered a much more restricted choice of shopping, mainly fast food and clothing. Those stalls which were open offered quality and value, so that under more normal circumstances it is probably a good market. The close spacing of stalls, however, made 'social distancing' difficult.
A. S.
It does fulfilled your requirements & also very happiness & happening surroundings. Cheers !
P. S.
Good market.
Lots of street food stalls these days and fewer fruit and veg.
J. C.
A really good market, lots of stalls for all your needs and more.
R. L.
Interesting place, perhaps, ATM, past it's better days... My Grandfather took the job as a market inspector after WW2, and when he moved on, I (as a child) took up the challenge for a while. It was definitely in its heyday then!
Situated below the city hall, and in the middle of the city it gives small business a chance to start up at minimum cost.
In the summer particularly it gains good footfall.
T. Z.
The market wa excellent well done must visit when ln Norwich.
k. y.
The market is bit of a killer for me, so many places to eat, and i can only eat so much!
The permanent stalls and covers, do make the event a bit sterile, but the produce is amazing. It is a great place to hide from the rain while wandering around.
Be warned this isn't a flea market, expect to pay a decent amount when making your purchases. All the stall owners i have spoken have been friendly polite and helpful.
No trip to Norwich is complete without visiting the market.
M. H.
Really varied market, lots of interesting food stalls
D. G.
Overrated market
Has some good stall's,but for a city it's pretty basic tbh. You would expect more as it's in the city centre.
K. S.
Very varied anount of shops and stalls, all clean and well presented, happy staff, willing to answer your questions and help you with your needs.
F. T.
Fantastic market. Honestly everything I've needed. Everything from food if you're on the way to work, to clothes, to incense, and even a comic/card shop. Have a look if you're passing by!
P. F.
Wonderful fruit stalls and a surprisingly good hat shop.
L. G.
Very busy on food stools, easy to get around specially if disabled. Is slightly up hill.
K. L.
Lots of small stalls selling a huge range of products, all well organised outdoor. Places to grab food or a drink close by, too.
R. J.
Norwich Market is a friendly and exciting shopping experience. You can find anything you need here at good value. The flld stalls are varied and delicious.

j. d.
I like Norwich market but I'm going off it if the don't do something about culling these Pigeons, 400 more
J. T.
England's largest and oldest six day market has been on roughly the same site since just after the Norman Conquest of 1066. On the market you will find what most markets can offer: flowers, ice cream, second-hand books, fish, fruit and vegetables, clothes, followed by the usual food stalls, offering the likes of jacket potatoes, fish and chips, Chinese and Indian food, Chilean street food, Thai food, mushy peas with a Westler burger, even stalls offering Churros, Sicilian and Falafel. Who could not go on the market without a stronger drink at the nearby Garnet pub or even on the stall on the Gaol Hill side. Though it could do with being kept more cleaner and tidier and pigeon free, a visit to the city of Norwich is not normal without a visit to the market.
T. E.
A cute little market, with a variety of stalls. It reminded me of my home back in Africa. It also have off a 'Halloween Town' vibe which I loved. The food stalls have lovely aromas and everything is just adorable.
My friends and I enjoyed strolling through it. I just wish it was a little bigger, so that I could see even more.
There is also a cute little area where you can sit and chat, whilst eating your food. It's all wonderful.
S. H.
There was so much food to choose from! We couldn't decide! Plenty of options from Asian to British food. There was a nice seating area nearby where people would cycle in and out of to eat.
M. J. M.
Even in the rain the market was thriving with people hustling and bustling in the lanes. The aromas from the different food stalls seem to be making everyone hungry.
G. T.
Lucy's chips was fantastic, would defo recommend
m. m.
Amazing food on offer. Highly recommend 'Fresh' for some great Asian cuisine along with a refreshing smoothie
N. S.
Such a diverse place with a huge array of stalls from traditional chips and mushy peas to Bohemian homewares and henna! If you can't find it on Norwich Market it's not worth having!
l. r.
Brilliant market. Loads of food stalls to choose from. Friendly stall holders. Had great Dim-sum sitting in, and eating while watching the world go by.
L. P.
A staple of a walk through the city. Special mention for Lucy's Fish and Chips
C. G.
The biggest and best outdoor market, so blessed to live in Norwich. The variety of food you can choose from alone is really impressive if you're looking for a quick bite. Lots of local produce and products it's so worth a visit.
T.
Traditional market with good range of food and fresh fruits
D. M.
Norwich market is absolutely legendary.... it has a wide range of stalls and the food stalls are very high quality! I love it! Check out the hog roast stall - that place is just amazing, and the crackling is utter perfection!! :p
L.
Lovely fresh food , & goods, and lovely freshly made take-a-way food , and Currys , meat or vegan. Craft beer . And close to all the major Stores . I wish there was more seating
M. M.
Ruby's stall owned and run by Ema is a good place to start, looking for Gluten Free ideas I got great help from Norfolk Kindfood and Pickering, so much so that I bought a sample pack to establish which products will work best for our up and coming event, rushed home to try the pastry that I bought from Kindfood, it is easy to roll and comes out really nice, will definitely use this product again!
E. T.
What a great market. Loads of little stalls selling so many different things. The handmade soap stall was my favourite.
S. G.
Always a bright and lively place to browse and shop. The stalls and shops are set in a rigid structure ginving the whole market walkways for you to stroll through inside. The food on offer from the various little cafes and takeaways is wonderful. A must stop place on anyone's list
S. P.
Nearly every time I go into City I end up getting cuppa and bite to eat off the market.I had to knock a star off as I don't think you can beat the Market the Way it Was before refurbishment.Everyone I know feels the same too.Mind you,it's alot tidier now and less chaotic.
A. W.
It was lovely walking route but the wooden footpath needed to do more TLC not very good with kids and elderly.
G. T.
A lovely permanent market, you can buy anything and everything
J. W.
A wide ranging and diverse place in so many ways. Literally something for everyone!
P. J.
I got lost in the endless passages between the stalls. I emerged four hours later dehydrated and bedraggled, but with full bags of retail items.

Really enjoyed the food here, the 4 of us could all have something different, Japanese, Indian, Chinese etc, only thing missing is a decent covered area to sit and eat!
J. R.
One of the best markets ever, good value for money, friendly dealers and surrounded by historical buildings.
H. N.
Busy, quirky, fun and super food stalls
P. D.
Amazing location, very authentic very old Inn. Menu is basic, but you'll find something, we liked the outside seating. Staff are friendly and efficient.
T. S.
Such a change from the original traditional market many years ago. Now a collection of street food vendors with a handful of the old type stalls. Many closed.
M. C.
More varied of late. Various ready cooked food outlets, fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers still available. Excellent newish organic wine shop. Cracking coffee and cheese stalls. Brilliant leather man, Andy, now also selling books. Hair dressers, tea stalls, mushy peas, fish and chips, bric a brac, vacuum bags. It's all here plus a real feel of Norwich folk.
S. T.
Eat round the world. Best market in England 🇬🇧 👌
P. C.
A great variety of foodie stalls, but little else. Seems a lot of it is empty. Pigeons are a problem not welcome where food is sold.
A. H.
Cool market. Lots of food stalls. Best chips cooked in lard, fatty but tasty
S. S.
Plenty of stalls selling a wide variety of products. Also a great place for street food with a diverse selection of dishes.

This was the 2nd time I've been there. All I wanted were 2 yellow roses. Very expensive! £7.50!!but my friend is worth it. Not the easiest place to park outside/nearby but worth the visit.
O. T.
Good selection of stalls and street food, but only a couple of decent ones from what we could see. It's a bit of a maze as well.
T. S.
Lots of interesting stuff plenty of food stalls worth a visit
D. H.
About half of the shops are open on the market. As of 17th November. Fruit shop nearest the fish stalls always have such fresh local produce, I stock up for a week and none of it goes off. The ripe avocados are ready to eat on the same day.
R. C.

L. P.
Fantastic market and fabulous selection of street food all round great place

What a surprise!!! Such a fun area comparable to the Cambridge market. Much more history and shopping all within walking distance. A great day trip in east anglia!
M. T.
Lovely market but it was a shame that most of the stalls were closed
S. B.
Love Lucy's chip stall. And Reggie's has the best beef patties ever!
T. N.
My go to place for a Saturday lunch. It's mostly food oriented, and there is a wide variety of food, from classics to fusion, meaty to vegan. A must! Food products sold there are top quality too, so definitely a good option of you need fresh ingredients for a special dinner.
There are also some nice shops with decoration products or others. Have found nice stuff there so definitely recommended!
C. S.
Good market and worth a visit.
B. 4.
I was worki g in Norwich recently and visited the market for something to eat. I met 2 very nice young ladies running a stall making the best bacon roll I've ever had. Can't remember the stall number unfortunately. Nice market and very nice city. Lots of old buildings. Well worth a visit.
G. J.
It's been a few years since I last visited but still loved it and bought a present for my daughter and some knitting things for me.

A. Z.
Well presented, lots of stalls to browse and friendly.
J. J.
First time in Norwich could not believe the varieties of local shops and the market nice buzz about the centre. We visited the cathedral area and found ourselves in the historic quarter wonderful old houses. Good visit nearby Caster car museum with 230 exhibits. Enjoy.
J. F.
Great place for food, but you can get practically anything you need here.wpuld especially recommend for Asian groceries, sewing supplies and fruits and veg
J. H.
Lots of food outlets - especially enjoyed my visit to The Yarn and Craft store
L. C.
Superb range of food from all corners of the globe. It's great to support local businesses too!
M. O.
The stall holders are trying to make the best of a bad year by doing what they do this time of year. It's a nice outdoor market so less covid risk than being in the shops. They just need more of us to spend!
P. A.
Great every day market..lots of choice
M. C.
I'm a local guy, lived here all my life, so I've got to say, if you truly want that great Norwich city experience, then the stalls in the market are a must visit if you want nothing on your trip to go amiss, they comprise mostly of fresh food stall and the others are handcrafted and speciality goods.
M. M.
Loved the street food, fab atmosphere
A. G.
Beautiful old cathedral... only half open at the moment as dinosaur 🦕 taking up other half... I am not joking either.
I. a. b.
The best open market in all England, and probably Britain. And it has just had a national award to say so too. Richly deserved.
L. H.
Excellent mix of stalls and the tastiest choice of food from all over the world
C. J.
Great variety of stalls. Plenty for everyone to see. Busier as the day goes on.
J. E.
Didn't manage to do any shopping as the staff were packing up when we arrived at 4.45pm, which for a summer day, I felt was too early hence only 3 atars
J. P.
Semi covered, this market is a gem. I use it for odd tools, food shopping, shoe repairs, watch batteries etc. It's catering stalls for lunch are both varied and many. Get a thai or chinese dish cooked fresh to order for a great price and eat on the benches at the rear, awesome.
B. m.
Lots of quaint stalls and great for food too. Ethnically diverse cuisine on offer and authentic too! Reasonably priced
D. H.
Lots of diffrent stalls there enjoyed the visit
I. J.

Pleasant area with a wide variety of small shops in the city centre.
J. D.
I always pop into Norwich street market to buy my spices and end up buy nice tasty products from local producers and also treat myself with some of the many variety of amazing food available , love it
N. “. S.
It's permanent. Some of the fast food places (loads) are good value. The clothes are usual but not particularly cheap.
R. A.
Many many places to get amazing street food
R. R.
Great area, most places take cards and loads of vegan options as well
T. S.
I'm reviewing not only the market but also covid 19 safety. The market states that you need to wear a mask while your inside it, I saw barely anyone paying attention to it so maybe they need to add some stands stating it before you enter. Keep everyone safe, wear a mask 🙏 the market is still a fantastic place to shop!! Stay safe everyone 👍
P. L.
So many great stalls and food from all over the world.
S. B.
Love the atmosphere and shopping to small business
H. P.
Today went to Ellas coffees and teas, had coffee and toast, bought a shortcake. All is good on there , do you a breakfast. Buy cans drink. Filled rolls. Lots more. very nice people to you and good welcome .

K. D.
Nice bacon roll and tea
J. T.
Nice mix of food and items. Food from all over the world. Get there early as people queue.
J. P.
I've watched the market adapt itself over the past couple of years. The food stalls are a nice eclectic mix now. It's still a great place for your meat and vegetables, wool, fabric and habadashery. Interesting Beer stall too.
S. B.
Great market, interesting stalls and shops
S. P.
Nice place to visit show not all the stores are open
S. B.
It has some nice new stalls, could have a bit more choice but it's a nice market and very friendly
I. C.
This is one of the highlights of life in Norwich! Especially getting chips from Lucy's and eating them at the top, looking down over the colourful market stalls and the beautiful city!
E. S.
Great range of stalls, not all open of course now but hopefully they will be soon. Lucy's chips and the ice-cream stall were open with plenty of vegan options, both delicious!
A. G.
I wish I had time to try food from every stall. Great selection!
K. C.
Lovely market well laid out. Interesting to look around.
M. H.
I know of nowhere else where I can buy Indian, Japanese, Korean, Caribbean, Chinese, or a number of other cuisines so close together. Any group of people can go out together and get something delicious at a very reasonable price that suits them.
Not just food - loads of handy and interesting traders. I'm unashamedly in it for the food though!
T. K.
Really interesting collection of street food stalls and shops. Brilliantly laid out.
A. W.
I have always liked Norwich Market. The pigeons are a little annoying, but there is little that can be done about that. There is a wide selection of food outlets, all of whom have friendly, helpful staff. The prices tend to be a tiny bit cheaper than regular shops but the difference is negligible. The market really shows its value if you want something a little unusual. If you are looking for something hard to find, or obsolete from the manufacturer, then Norwich Market is a brilliant place to try. In many stalls, you can negotiate a better price with combined purchases. The market staff do a good job keeping it clean in what can only be described as difficult circumstances. Overall, a great place to shop and eat.

One of the best open air markets I have been to

Decent market the ratio of food stores to quirky clothing stores and bits and pieces stores is a little too high for my preference.

Norwich market is usually full of atmosphere,on a day that has been full of very heavy downpours and of course the affects of CO19,also my time of visit, late afternoon, there were a few die hard stall holders,as you can imagine,it was very quiet.you got to feel some empathy for these businesses and employees.
