We had a lovely time at afternoon tea! The food was delicious and very generous! There was something for everyone in our party. The cream dessert was so good! The setting was super cool, and my daughter was fascinated the whole time 😍 It definitely felt like you were in Wonderland. The staff was very friendly and made the experience extra special. This is definitely the place to visit if you’re in the area! We hope to be back someday 😊

This was, without a doubt, the best afternoon tea that I have ever had. Everything is made by the very talented baker. The macaroons were the best I have ever had. Absolutely everything was faultless. The staff were so helpful and really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. NOT BEEN HERE FOR A FEW YEARS. It was nice to return . Various sandwiches on offer . Delightful cakes to tempt you. I was been good and had no cakes . However I succumbed to a scone. Yes, the sandwiches I could have eaten again. They was delightful. Got tea with the food. The tea comes in a lovely T pot and the tea is nice. Always tastes better in china! The café as lots of antique's on display that you can purchase and also some craft products locally made. Like notebook covers -really good and small quirky animal head decorations, which are crochet to hang up plus many more others things .

From supporting us when our first wedding was cancelled to moving our venue completely at short notice. Your character, kind heart and selflessness is something very rare to find and you are one in a million. You deserve every success and review you have ever had. May life continue to shine on you, like you shine on the rest of the world. The food was lovingly made, comforting in a way that is almost nostalgic stirring memories of relatives of times past. Everything was tasty, fresh and you could taste love with every bite. All of my family of 60, have all said how amazing the food was, the tea was free flowing and the servers were caring but friendly. I cannot express my wholehearted appreciation for everything Nygel and his team have done for us. If you are thinking about booking, don't waste time looking around. There is no better option for amazing food, service and passion. Not your typical coffee shop at all. Lots of wonderful cakes and food plus blue monkey beer selection. However it's the atmosphere and decorations that make it outstanding. There are hats to try on lots of hats. Everything from wedding hats party hats posh hats and silly hats. The main theme is Alice in wonderland at the mad hatters tea party. A brilliant place to meet a friend or family for a beverage and catch up. They also do themed evening. I have been to the psychic evening with Jan Mayfield and she is amazing medium. She tells you exactly what she sees or hears and there's no hiding from the truth with Jan. The other special events are for mother and father day Greek night tapas night. The good is always freshly prepared and if you have dietary requirements phone in advance and they will bend over backwards to help you.

Absolutely fantastic! I bought my mum here to cheer her up as she hadn't been very well. From the first step in the door we were made to feel very welcome by the two lovely chaps in there. We were shown which table we were at in a room that I can only describe as a wonderland! Things to look at everywhere, it was beautiful! It made me feel like I was 7 again all be it a very sophisticated 7 😉 The food was amazing every mouthful was just delicious. The scones were to die for with lashings of clotted cream and jam. I love the whole quirky feel of the place with all the different cups, saucers and teapots. We left very full and very happy. I will defiantly be coming back again. I think more people should take the time out to do afternoon tea! The world would be a better place ❤ x

What an utterly amazing lunchtime treat. I took my two young children and they ensured they were fed quickly but supplied lovely books to keep them entertained. My sister in law has food allergies and they catered for her needs presenting delicious food. The owner and staff could not do enough to ensure we had a great time. I booked an afternoon tea at very short notice for my little girl and her friends-Nygel and Emily and her assistant could not have been more kind, helpful and accomodating! I had been to Madhatters once a couple of years ago for an amazing birthday party for a friend. As I don't live very close at all, I don't have the opportunity to go very often. But after entering a competition I won an afternoon tea for 6! My friends and I absolutely loved it we were made to feel so welcome and were seated in my favourite part of the cafe. We all had a lot of fun and the food was excellent as always. They catered for our dietary needs and the atmosphere was great. Thank you so much again guys!

This wonderful, quirky tearoom is absolutely amazing! The staff are always friendly and happy. You ALWAYS receive a warm welcome from Nygel, the owner. The food is oh so tasty and freshly prepared when you arrive. The themed evenings are first rate. If you want an evening of fun, laughter and total relaxation this is the place to go. I often go to Madhatters on my own but never, ever have I been made to feel awkward or embarrassed because I am by myself. That to me says it all x x x

I went in for a cup of coffee with the missus and had a relaxing experience. Sure the coffee tasted good, as did the cake. But that's not what this place is just about. It's a total transformation - a literal rabbit hole. It's a transition from Kimberley with all it's predictability to something else - another place. Away from Greggs and into rabbit land. We sat in the back room which could have been anywhere. It was quirky and fun - a delightful reprise from franchise coffee shops and greasy spoons. It's a destination, not just a place to get a cup of greased tea. It's not cheap, but it's refreshing and unique. I'll be back.

Went to Madhatters back in February for an afternoon tea which was bought for us as a present, and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the tearoom, food and service was. While we were there we saw their leaflet for a Greek food night, so we made an impulse booking. What a lovely night it turned out to be, we were served with a 5 course meal each dish delicious in its own way. From pittas and tzatziki, lamb kebabs, dolmados and a creamy yoghurt, plus a few other delights we've not tried before. For a small tearoom the Madhatters is big on personality with well informed and friendly staff and a chef who is obviously very passionate about his food. We will definitely be going again.

An excellent place if you are looking for something a little different. Nygel is a wonderful host and he and his team have the best cakes - even if rather pricey. They have a very good selection of savouries too. Book a Madhatter's afternoon tea with friends and you are guaranteed a very enjoyable meal. Nygel also puts on regular theme events with everything from musical to tapas evenings. I've been a regular there for years and have taken everyone I know there at once time or other. PS feel free to try one of Wonderland's silly hats and put a pic online. Need a hand? Nygel is always very happy to help take a pic.
