Reviews of Tesco Express
J. P.
Brilliant meal combo for just £3.50 and almond croissants for £1!
A.
Well stocked, but the staff can be slow, especially at the customer service desk.
I was there to pick up a Hermes parcel (in a rush) and what should have taken no more than 5 minutes was strung out into a 25 minute wait. This is because the staff member getting the parcel was side-tracked with shelf stacking, and turned the release of the parcel into a training exercise for a new staff member.

Staff was so lovely - I accidentally smashed a bottle of wine and Roland didn’t make me pay and was so nice about it. I’m now enjoying said bottle of wine with A delightful chicken niryan (it’s not a korma). Big up Roland for saving my night

Nice place to buy in the center of Oxford City, the biggest supermarket in city Center.

Now cheekily rebranded from a 'Metro' (urban supermarket) to an 'Express' (smaller convenience store). The square footage hasn't changed, but the prices have - typically 10-12% more than before on many staples.
C. G.
A well-known store with a variety of products and quality of them!
r. M.
Very affordable prices. Some extremely good value.. Blueberries for less than one pound. Tomatoes too. Fresh herbs under a pound. Tinned mackerel in olive oil best price I have found in town.
I did my normal shop here and saved 50 % compared with Mand s and waitrose. Staff were OK.
5 star for prices. 4 for choice. 4 for staff.
price in Oxford

This shop is bigger than it appears. They have two floors
s. c.
Not much of a range but good prices.

Decent size Tesco with wide selection of goods in the heart of Oxford. Opened till late except Sundays. Can be extremely busy without space to walk inside making shopping a bit uncomfortable, especially in the afternoon peak. Although queues look very long it does not take ages to get to the till. Well recommended.

It's probably the best supermarket in the town's centre, mid-sized, reasonable variety of stock (well, as long as they do not run of stock which happens quite often unfortunately), ok prices. It can get very busy (especially in the afternoons and evenings, so if you want to avoid queues go in the morning for proper grocery shopping), and as already mentioned it's as well a shame they do not control their stock properly and run of it way too often. Plus, the basement level is only accessible via stairs - it's been months and months the lift's been out of order and I doubt it will ever get repaired - shoppers with children in pushchairs, wheelchair users etc do not need to buy baby, household, health, beauty or pets (and several other) products according to the manager, I suppose. I assume since they always will have clients being this the only bigger supermarket in the very centre they do not have to care much about anything.

I have for 6 years lived within this area, and having not being part of a big family or anything, I still feel apart of one. Every single member of this team have proved this countless times. Words can not express how grateful I am, to have individuals who not only pose a financial incentive as 'standard' businesses do, but also care so much for those around them.
Shout out to Abdil (Manager) and Khan (security guard) of whom in the area, make me feel a part of a community. Something I think we all need at these current times. Therefore in my highest praise possible, I recommend this little shop. Because evidently what you see from the outside, is in no way a measure of the people who modestly go above and beyond duty, and consequently make my area, home.
This had to be said as no one else is clearly going to. And I cannot let all of your efforts go un-noticed.. I really hope your headoffice give you a raise soon bc you all deserve it, multiple times over.
I love you guys, and thank you for everything you do for me ❤️

A great little ISH Tesco's. The meal deals are amazing and are a breath of fresh air in the expensive city of Oxford. Big enough to have all you need but small enough to make it quick to use. Disabled access throughout and a huge Bank of self checkout tills to speed things up. Worth a visit.

got pushed down the tescolater by some Oxford student, think they were a tory, but the shop had an excellent supply of cheese and that made up for it.
A.
Great selection of drinks! I can't find such selection anywhere else I love the viraity of energy drinks I mostly drink them due to always lacking in suger so knowing I can go there and actually have a large variety is amazing I hope they never change that variety it's amazing!! Love the rockstar and monster selection. Awesome Tesco!!

I work in St Michael's Street, so this is my go to shop for supplies and lunch. It's the best supermarket in the town centre, which makes it a pity I now have to avoid it until January because of the aggressive christmas music. Thankfully the small sainsburys is just a couple of doors closer.

Quite a large Tesco Metro with plenty of food and drink to choose from - when the shelves are stocked up, that is. Often is the case that there are holes where items should be, waiting for someone to fill them up! The store is also regularly busy, resulting in long queues regardless of the time of day.

Excellent staff service from Elenitsa .Always with a big smile 😀😃 on her face. Love to see you each time.
D. L.
Quick when you know where things are
K. S.
Nice staff, convenient, but higher prices than larger stores for same products. Best to go to bigger stores if you don't want to pay morel.
A. R.
Very well placed supermarket, with a very good selection of products. Especially for those living in the city center, it is quite convenient in all regards.
C. B.

Very busy Tesco in the heart of Oxford. Generally unfriendly staff but a useful stop for a quick snack top up.
S. C.
Good selection of products and hardworking friendly staff right in the middle of the town.
C. Y.
Good store better and cheaper than the next door sainsburys local but sometime they run out of stock a lot
j. b.
It's tesco. Other than the usual dossers begging at the entrance. It's a good shop.
J. C.
Good location with most everything you would need, can get extremely busy at times though.
J. P.
I always found the Sainsbury's Basics to be better deals, and the Sainsbury's itself to be a nicer shopping experience.
T. W.
A great place to buy groceries in the center
M. M.
VERY BASIC CHOISE OF PRODUCTS. AVOID IF YOU HAVE ON YOUR WAY BiGER SHOP AS THIS WILL SAVE YOU MONEY ASWELL.

(Translated) There are also many foreign students, and it is a multinational area, but the Asia Corner is well-stocked for the scale. There are many types of instant noodles.

留学生も多く、多国籍なエリアなせいか、規模の割にアジアコーナーが充実している。インスタント麺の種類も多い。
