Reviews of Chinese Supermarket Cmart Oriental Food Store
K. L.
A compact Chinese supermarket. It is in a convenient location if you are living in in town centre. Shop is very small, so it will be crowded if you go there during weekend. The most important bit is it has a variety of Chinese, Korean, hong Kong snacks if you fancy them but don't want to drive out of town.
The stock that they are selling in store and online are slightly different but it is not a big issue if you do not have any specific item needed.

Lots of yummy foods 😋 allways well stocked and friendly staff.

Always love having a peruse in here. There's always something new to find but still has all the Asian food staples you might need

The shop is small but provide many kind of Chinese food to choice. The price is acceptable.

one of my favourite shops in Reading, they sell things with a smaller shelf life for a very reduced price which is great to see, means things won't go to waste. shop is small, so can get quite packed at times, but it says outside not to have more than 6 in at one time, so anyone complaining here about no social distancing should probably just wait.
great selection of ramen, mochi, and assorted snacks and drinks. all around great shop! staff are always lovely as well :)

Great chinese food items at a very good price even found noodles I haven't had in a long time

So many things packed into one tiny shop. The staff are helpful if you're struggling to find what you want. I especially love the frozen gyoza which make a great quick meal.
Prices are always considerably lower than the same items in mainstream supermarkets.

Located on Friar Street, on the corner of Union Street. A perfect place to pick up your day-to-day Chinese groceries from. Don't expect a huge selection since it's a very small store, but good enough for small purchases.
Prices are reasonable. Staff are always helpful and friendly.
There's a good selection of noodles, sauces and snacks.
At the back of the store, there are fridges which hold a small selection of fresh food stuff i.e. tofu, greens and meats. The freezers hold dim sums, meatballs, meats etc.
Since it is a small store, you may struggle with a buggy and definitely not a great place to bring energetic little ones into :)

If See Wo Store is far away for you, it is the best alternative. It is near to the train station too. It is small but has most of the things you need-noodles, soy sauces, vinegar, rice, spices, chillies-oil/flakes. Limited vegetables and frozen items also available. It also has oriental chips and crisps, chocolates. Some alcoholic drinks are also available. The store has almost everything but has limited space to move around.
The store is in the busy roadside. The staff are helpful. Check out to fulfill your needs.

With lack of vegetables quite prominent, the little shop is adequate for the odd item here and there. Almost an emergency stop, this little shop is 'ok' considering the location. It could do better by keeping a wider variety of items, including better sauces. If you are passing by and have no choice, do visit. If you do have a choice, go to other larger stores with more economical choices.

Went in for salted black beans, couldn't find any, but left with natto as a treat and a few cupboard staples.

Such a great hidden gem! Staff are always friendly, and has a great selection of not just Chinese but other Asian snacks as well including mochi. I usually go there to buy dried seaweed, orange peel candy, fish snacks etc ^-^
J. L.
One of the most accessible Chinese supermarket in Reading city center. Not the biggest but enough to feed my need for Asian food
S. R.

Great little shop. Packed with the usual items you'd expect, and a load of different Chinese and Korean sauces. Also the dumpling selection in the freezer is pretty good.
The staff are friendly here and will help you find what you need.
C. L.
Limited space but has a very good stock on everything I need. I didn't realise this until moved to London. Even the flagship stores of some biggest Chinese supermarket chains in Chinatown aren't good enough, I can't find the things I need while this store in Reading has them.
B. O.
Good variety of stuff, I normally find pretty much everything I need for srir fries etc. Nice staff too.
The only downside is the card payments of minimum £10 but I don't mind that much. Always have at least a tenner in my pocket anyway
R. C.
In particular a fan of the Lychee Pudding, Lychee with coconut jelly drink and mochi. Snacks can vary quite a bit so worth checking every now and then to see new stock. Very convenient.

Small but Intresting, good for Japanese rice, and sauces! Walking through a restock was hard tho with boxes everywhere. Otherwise polite and good service

Friendly staff, nice food and good variety. I go here often for hot pot ingredients and it's very nice :)

Find Asian/Chinese specialist foods can be very difficult to supply and cost quite a bit. I manage to find what I need here and the staff are always nice. Would be nice to have a wider selection.
P. C.
The store is not very big but we can find many interesting ingredients from Asia. It's pretty cool :)

Good for frozen items like dumplings and fish balls, sort of lacking in variety otherwise, but if I wanted a snack or something I'd stop by.
A. R.
Amazing place for Asian ingredients. Soy sauce way cheaper than Tesco, and all the tastes you've never tried before.
J.
Best Chinese shop in Reading. Has mostly everything including my favorite Dried plums (huamei). Really friendly and helpful staff.

Full of authentic Asian brands and ingredients. My wife often insists on heading here when we run out of sauces and herbs.

Good range of items. Wide instant noodle selection!
A. P.
it is a very good place to located at, and the range of products are very big and for a store that is little too, which is the only problem as it is often crowed with only a inch of a shoulder with out hitting any thing, at peak timr
