I usually come to this store, there is always a good number of staffs available which is a good help. Also, many update fashion clothes and fresh fruit and food are delivered.

Great value and quality in the middle of town

Excellent location. Convenient and large, with especially amazing selection of beers, coders, wines and liquor. If you have any favourite flavour or brand. Chances are good you’ll find it here, paired with rare and unusual crisps. Produce and meats are fresh and plentiful, staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of self-checkout lines really cut down on waiting times. The only downside is the price - slightly higher overall than other stores in the area, but worth it for the quality and sortiment.

It's a decent and well kept M&S. Over two floors, you have a food hall, clothing for men, women, kids, babies, home decoration and even a little bank where you can buy and sell foreign currencies. In the food hall, sometimes the freezer doesn't look well with ice covering the food. Doesn't worth dropping a star just for that but this can be improved. Decent selection of wines but with less reductions and offers than other places. Still I managed to get some bottles of Champagne at a discounted price but it doesn't happen everyday. There is also a small restaurant inside. It has shorter opening hours than the store itself but when it's open, you can get a tasty and healthy takeaway or eat in. That restaurant is in the ground floor near the food hall. I need to specify because they have another one at the second floor but it's less exciting. It has a larger seating area but it's more for a quick coffee and a piece of cake than anything else.

I went in to buy a suit, there was a good selection and it all seems very well made. The best thing however was the service from a chap called David, as I was at the checkout he noticed that one of my items was from a different range. He took the time to try and locate the item from within the range I was purchasing. He was extremely helpful and really cared that I should be happy with all of my purchases. I will happily shop here again based solely on my interaction with David.

Rude member of staff. Just bought a white linen top and at checkout was not offered a bag and the top and receipt just pushed towards me. When I asked about a bag, the salesman replied rather gruffly, ‘not unless you want to pay for one!’ I would have if I had been asked before I paid.

The Oracle, Reading provides an excellent opportunity to watch special events like the Royal Wedding and football. They provide a fantastic reception with various restaurants and stores giving out discounts and free gifts.

Went to the store in Reading for a brief visit and found some items I truly liked. The girl at the till named Cat was friendly and professional, she lightened up my day as had been a challenging one in this COVID era. I felt safe whilst shopping as majority of customers kept a social distancing.

What great service from all the staff, everyone greets you with a smile and as the sale was on you got some great deals. The food hall must be the best in Reading, and again very helpful staff, even the managers, (in white shirts) are very helpful and look happy in what they do, that's not the case in most big department stores. I went on my annual Christmas shopping trip with friends on Friday, I was disappointed to be told that the largest Ladies size stocked in store is 22. My Daughter is a 26 and although I can buy your clothes for her online, sometimes it's good to see the garment in person. Assist very helpful and offered to order for me but out of stock there too.

Nice enough store .. light and airy. Came to exchange the wife's too-small skirt without a receipt (it was a gift) and there was no quibble about it. Kudos M&S! The toilets were a bit tricky to locate despite signage but hey-ho!

Excellent service in difficult conditions Of all the stores in Reading that have kept going through the current COVID situation, this one must be the best and helped to keep me sane!. The staff are always without exception friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout. As it is a large spacious store you do not usually need to queue to get in. They sell a great variety of goods and it was so useful early in lockdown to be able to buy clothes, toiletries and home wares which were well displayed as well as food. Food quality especialy is top notch and fruit and vegetables are always perfect.

Good selection of clothes. Very few 14s and 16s available on the rails. Had to go home and order. Plenty of larger sizes and smaller sizes. Excellent check out staff, but very few staff on the floor.

excellent service from the young man in the men's suit dept. on 15th May. I needed a new DJ and he helped without being pushy. As a result I ordered a better quality DJ. He checked for stock as, whilst the trousers were the right size, I needed a 44 short jacket. As promised the jacket arrived next day. Good value, fits well and looks great.

I nipped in to pick up Yorkshire puddings (not knowing much about them at all) the bloke working helped figure out what is been asked to get, gave me advice and showed me options. Really helpful making the shopping experience way quicker than it would have been given the crowds for Xmas. Thank you.

Excellent customer service. I tried on an item that was not quite right and when I asked advice from the changing room assistant, she asked a colleague to take me to the item I needed. This young colleague was due her lunch break but when no other immediate help could be found she volunteered to take me. She was polite, helpful and genuinely happy to help me. Store is conveniently located in the center. Two entrances give access to a well supplied for hall. Staff very friendly however I noticed many items on sale are not easily accessible in clothes section and food hall is not your one stop for everything. The feeling it has contrary to the department store is more of a deli shop of specialty treats and wines. Extra weight of thrown on ready made meals whose quality can be of restaurant standards (oriental and seasonal dishes). Go after 7pm to get discounted bread and sandwiches or food.

I hadn't been in the store for years as I have always thought of it as being aimed at people older who are also much heavier than me (I'm in my mid 60s). But of all the stores in Reading it was the only one to stock suits that fitted my short, thin teenage son, so I will have to revise my opinion somewhat. This review relates to my most recent visit. Generally I am very happy to shop there, both with the food and the service. This time the main course I selected for dine in was not properly sealed All of these items were the same. I selected another main but it became complicated because it was part of an offer with 4 other items. Also I selected the tropical fruit salad. When I came to eat it there were 2 small bit of plastic -same stuff as the film lid but I checked and it hadn't come from there.

Recently had a refit. Much lighter and brighter now. Small store with limited selection but has enough food and drink choices. Good mix of sandwiches, crisps and other snack foods. Now has plenty of self service tills which should make checkout much quicker.

Marvellous Food Hall, marvellous people, both shoppers and staff. When I got to the quick checkout to pay I realised I'd lost my M & S bag with purse in it so was unable to pay. I looked around on the shop floor for it and returned in a mad frantic panic to the Cuba bar where I'd been earlier to look for it there. Returned to Marks & Spencer in despair and looked round the floor for it. I asked the lady on the checkout who still had my basket of shopping if it had been found . She suggested going to Customer Service desk, which I did, and there to my enormous relief was my bag perched on the desk. Thank you to the member of staff or shopping public who picked up the bag and took it to the desk. The terror of having to explain the loss of my wallet to my wife disappeared. I paid for my shopping with great joy, went to the toilet upstairs to prolong my relief, and left the store feeling like Scrooge on Christmas Day! Thank you Marks & Spencer!

Great shop, with great discounts. Staff are always helpful and on first floor is caffee with delicious cakes and coffee. Great for shopping and having some rest. Toilet has a cheat and a nice place for breastfeeding as well. I doubt it comfortable.

Open until 8pm on a Saturday which was great as, we had been out, the weather had turned colder and I was able to pop in an get a jumper. Job done. Have been here a few times and there is a good selection of clothes and the food hall has a range of tasty food. Look out for the yellow sticker bargins near the end of the day.

As you'd expect from Marks and Spencer, there's a big choice of things to buy. I often shop in the food department as it is so handy for my work in reading town centre. Plus it's the best quality of food in the town. I do also buy clothes here, mostly underwear but sometimes also work wear. There is a lit of choice and they do different lengths for tall people.

Reasonably sized M&S store, they don't quite have a fully stocked clothing department but it is pretty big, for men they stock suits for formal wear, shirts, trousers, ties, shoes etc. The food section is pretty large also, there are quite a few tills including self service tills.

I was really excited to be physically in a big M&S store - and with new stock in too. I thought it would be great - like old times! I'd buy some new tunics and a couple of nice midi skirts, all in my larger size. Well, what a dreary range of new season's ladies wear I found. Two boring-looking tunics, and rows and rows of dreary thin fabrics in muddy or neutral colours. The skirts? No plain midis I could wear. I left with 2 bras, and at home on the computer found loads of lovely, exciting tunics on QVC, and a good choice of midi skirts in heavier fabrics too. My days of getting an adrenaline rush from loads of high quality, often UK-made, individualistic designs at M&S seem to be over. Even Per Una was full of the same insipid fabrics, and just dull block primary coloured garments when there was any colour splash at all. It used to be so distinct from the M&S range! What's happened? Ugh. Boring, ugly clothes. WHY??? And I am not a young shopper either.

Popped in to get work trousers, couldn't find the ones I wanted so asked a staff member for help, and Dottly served me, she was lovely so helpful and went above and beyond for me. The trousers I wanted have been discontinued, but Dotty tried her hardest to find an alternative for me. Thank you Dotty you were fab.

Good selection of bread, fruit, cheeses and liquor. If you're in a rush and can't teeter about town , this is a good spot to pick up; that impromptu cheese board, makings of a lush fruit salad, a bordering on luxury tipple, that quick premade lush meal. If you have the time and energy however, I'd definitely suggest the pottering about instead as Reading has a lot to offer.

Lucky I was not in a rush. Managed to buy what I wanted. Shirts and under pants was easy enough.....but the trousers! I must have tried about 20 pairs to buy 5. The waist and leg length is not consistent across various ranges and in some cases not consistent in the same type. Ended up with a waist range of 36 to 40 and leg length from 30 to 33. Got there in the end though.

It's easily accessible, ideally located and with a well laid out store plan. Occasions when one is in a hurry the staff at Marks and Spencer are all to happy to accommodate you. Nothing is ever a chore for its staff members when assisting shoppers.

I visited the Marks & Spencer store in Reading today to purchase a wedding suit and accessories for my daughters upcoming marriage . We were very ably assisted by Adam in the menswear department, he could not gave been more helpful in making the correct choices regarding sizes etc. We were then taken to a pay desk so that we could order online, those choices which Adam had kindly written down for us, here we were assisted,also very ably by Olivia who concluded the sales and order process. M&S, you should be proud of these sales assistants as they made the whole experience stress free and easy. Well done Adam & Olivia. Thanks for you help and assistance, it was much appreciated.

Mainly go here for food. M&S food is always very nice quality for general supermarket. Price is generally reasonable but occasionally can be on the expensive side. Nothing as cheap as tesco / Morrison etc. But you pay for the quality.

This store has 2 floors. On the ground floor there is stationery & gifts, plants, womenswear, shoes and jewellery. On the first floor you'll find customer services, lingerie, schoolwear, menswear, toys, cafe and items for the home. The store is bright, well staffed and stocked, and always clean and tidy. I find the staff polite and at hand to help with good knowledge about their products. Always a pleasant and enjoyable shopping experience.

Buying a suit? This is what you do: Go to the Boss shop where the wonderful staff will teach you exactly what style colour and fit will suit you best. Then when they say £800 wander down to M&S and get something that looks exactly the same for £280.

Finding what I need on the ground floor in M&S is like an Android phone user trying to work an IPad or an IPhone. So frustrating! The layout is just not intuitive and despite the food area being small (way too small), it is so hard to find what you want and need. The clothing area is spralling, but again the way you are forced to work around the different areas is not intuitive. It's hard work, sometimes feeling like too much work. Upstairs the layout works so much better but perhaps more space could be given to homeware to showcase this better. Surely kids and baby clothes would do better on ground floor with easier access for carers and little ones in buggies or prams instead of having to play find the lift. I cannot fault the lovely staff though and the quality products.

M&S has been on this site in Broad Street for ever. I can remember going there when I was a kid. On the 28 bus from Wargrave. Remember St. Michael? So everything now comes from Cambodia or Sri Lanka but that's our fault. Apart from a very dodgy set of vest/t-shirts I have never bought anything there that I have regretted buying. The staff might be foreign but they are lovely. How stupid of us to allow M&S to go under and stop selling clothes. Ignore the rip off foodhall and get stuck in to some culturally iconic clothes buying!

The only M&S in Reading very busy as you need to avoid the lady's as M&S keeps wrongly niching older cuts instead or change mindsets, groceries and cofeteria is good as expensive as usual. I was surprised to see today the window shop mannequins with teenagers and 30s clothes. =0) No carpark try Woodley instead for a quickly food supply.
