This is a massive store that sells almost everything your could need. Clothes, shoes, bedding, toasters, soap to pizza. It’s all there. A wide range of products and always good availability whatever time of day you shop. Staff are friendly and knowledgable. Love that they have a beauty bar and you can have guidance from staff. They have a lot of make up and beauty ranges. A small Holland and Barrett instore is handy and having an optician and mobile phone shop is a massive help too. Ample free parking available.

I shop regularly in Tesco Extra, Watford. The staff are always polite and helpful. The food and goods are well presented and good stock availability too. A certain member of staff by the name of 'Jency' came to my aide last night during an episode with a split bag of crisps. 'Jency', very kindly helped clear the crisps from the floor for me. I was very grateful to this lovely, friendly member of staff. 'Jency' made sure I was ok. This put a smile on my face and made my shopping experience a pleasant one. Massive store, sells everything from clothes, shoes, bedding, kitchenware, toys, separate phone store inside, coffee shop and giraffe restaurant attached. Huge beauty section with somebody always on hand to offer guidance and support. Huge selection of food and drink and suits everyone taste. Community area, they even hold a mother and baby group there and health visitor are there on a certain day off the month. Disabled friendly, with lots off scooters and wheelchairs to borrow, plenty of parking. Petrol station also.

The vegetables and world foods sections here are excellent such a good variety. The one thing that lets this place down is having all the bread at the end of the store where you come in. It means if you forget to buy bread you have to go all the way back. They also don’t rearrange the shelves all the time which some other supermarkets do and can be very annoying. Everything is always in the same place.

If you are looking for a one stop shop then this is the place. A nice open plan shop with everything you need. There are other businesses inside and a good selection of food for on the go. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. A good selection of fresh foods, tinned and dried goods.

it is wonderful store . best time to visit early morning when the availability of the stock is excellent. late at night you may not get all your wanted because people have been shopping all day and the shop is refilled overnight i suppose. the staff are generally good . the only thing I don't like is there are too much non food area. may be other people like it

I understand they 'shop' for customers, but we are still in a pandemic I counted 6 staff shopping in fruit and veg plus the department staff. In another aisle there were 4 shoppers plus another staff member, store customers should come first....shoppers online should be done during quieter times.....I think personally.

Brilliant service from the mobile 'phone shop. They put the top up on the new 'phone in store, but unbeknownst to me the mobile data was switched on and it did updates, eating all the top up. I thought it had not topped up, so 'phoned Tesco Mobile, who explained what had happened and then, as a gesture of goodwill put the top up on again. Thank you.

Love the store as there is a lot to be found and selected. However I didn’t like the fact that when I was getting my three month old son out of the car, in the parent and child bays, that I saw two cars pull up with teens in it and get out only to see drivers with young child in the park have to leave and find Pekingese in the normal bays. I find this disgusting as I think someone should be making sure that this doesn’t happen

Covid procedures and information visible on entry shame some people walk past it. Security on door, most people wearing masks. Staff were busy stocking shelves (as you would expect) but need to be mindful of boxes trays and cages in the way and leaving room for people in mobility scooters etc. Found the few things we needed... and more ! Now use the self scan - this is less painful than emptying the trolley at the till. Observed a Red Robin around the store.

My last visit to Tesco's was an eye opener as I had noted the prices had gone up a bit, then found out why. They are no longer called Tesco Metro, they have gone, they now are called Tesco Extra! So prices have gone up. An example I noted was their own branded small can of baked beans, from 25p to 30p. So for a single person on a low budget this is not good and may have to shop elsewhere if prices continue to go up! I had to drop a star because of this.

Ridiculous queues (Covid) on a Sunday. Its not as though the store is packed. Good choice of organic produce unlike many other supermarkets. A wide variety of veg which is nice for vegetarians. Good disabled parking (when it's not taped off). The mens toilets are a pain as the door closer doesn't do a soft close, it's a sharp bang! Also the hand wash machines are almost useless, get past the soap and cold water and the air hand dryer (when it comes on) blows cold! All in all, well worth a visit.

Huge store which offers so much. Well stocked most of the time. Service is ok, just depends who you ask, some are great, some are not. Don’t rate their fruit, goes off very quickly. 3 for £10 offers are good on selected meats. Lots of options overall at an average price. Nothing spectacular about this store but also nothing major to complain about.

Well a giant store with many sections. Great for local residents. Plenty of parking space. Easy walkways. ATM nearby. The promotions every-now and then are a deal breaker. Quite flexible store timings. But at night the surrounding areas become quite dark and it better to take a ride than walk back to your place. The homeless people around require the attention and help of the community around.

It's one of the best Tesco stores in the group. Everything is well run and has a lovely atmosphere, fantastic product range, coffee shops and restaurant. You have a car park for families handicap, and regular. You have car wash section in the car park as well as You have a Tesco gas station too with car wash options as well. The average price of fuel here is always one of the most competitive than any other gas station. It's definitely one of the top 10 tesco Extras.

Fab supermarket. Their vegetarian / vegan food selection is a real let down for such a big store. Edit: impressive new vegan ranges added to the fridge section, located in 3 separate fridges. Frozen section could have more variety.

After having a stressful morning and not being able to find the items I needed in store the wonderful lady at Cutomer services with glasses went off with some product codes to the toy department and came back with exactly what I was looking for!! Amazing and then scanned everything so my son didn't see what I had bought! (off school and Christmas shopping nightmare!) so helpful and above and beyond a real credit to the store!

I arrived on crutches having injured my knee a week ago..a lady called Maxine offered me a choice of wheelchairs/mobility scooter. She then got a mobility scooter with a basket and showed me how to use it. I got all the shopping I needed (other customers were very kind and put up with my bad driving). The lady at the checkout was also very helpful and had a great sense of humour. . Wonderful customer service.

I would like to leave feedback about my recent visit (26JAN2019) to Tesco Extra in Watford. I arrived to the shop, without any cash but my phone/contact less (like usual for me and more and more people in 2019), my son (a 2yo toddler) that needs to be carried on the cart for me to be able to shop without running after him and the intention of making some shopping. There were no carts available for me to get without coins on the parking and on the shop, so I asked for help at the Customer Service desk. The first person I spoke to, a middle aged man, was totally unhelpful and wanted me to buy something first so that then I could get a cart to then be able continue buying (!?). Later, when Katie, a young woman, was staffing the desk and I asked her for help getting a cart, she quickly realised I will not be able to do any shopping with my hands occupied carrying my son, she went out and got a cart for me and even made my son (who was crying) to smile. Employees like Katie know what customer service really means, are a great asset to any customer facing business and should not be led by unhelpful people like the man I initially spoke to, probably her supervisor/manager.

Not much in stock at the moment. Good location and access although getting out and going home can be difficult at rush hour because of the traffic trying to get on the nearby roundabout. There is plenty of parking, it has good produce that is competitively priced. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is also a garage for petrol.

One of the largest stores i have ever shopped at. Close to the train service. Stocks a huge variety of goods - one stop shop. There is also a H&H that serves good coffee as you shop. Only one concern is that the queues tend to get long and make you wait long.

Excellent little store. Very convenient area with ample parking. Has all the basics for a last minute shop but keep in mind the larger portion packs will only be available in the larger stores. Queues are not really a problem due to the store size so overall a quick shop if you need something.

Always do my weekly shop here . But I was a little confused this morning , I had thought as of Friday the 24th July that we all have to wear masks while in retail units and doing shopping . But as I walked around this Tesco extra , more than half the staff themselves had no face coverings and there are plenty of customers walking around without face coverings . What are Tesco’s guidelines do we need a mask or not ???

Very modern up to date supermarket. Everything you need from a Tesco is here food, clothing, click and collect, restaurant, coffee shop and toy/electronics with plenty of parking and even a nice accompanying river with ducks, which of course is always a good thing. Match days can be a bit of a pain but they do have traffic controllers trying to maintain some order which is always helpful.

Loads of parking (though there is rampant misuse of the child and disabled bays by regular shoppers with no enforcement by Tesco at all) and a huge supermarket. Has a reasonable range of clothing but the changing rooms are closed in the evenings despite the clothing area still being open. Has scan as you shop which is useful.

Everything one wants under one roof. My only gripe is that it's too big and there is nowhere to sit as you are walking round with yr trolley. A few benches dotted around would be advantageous. Yes you can sit on a chair after you have shopped or have a coffee before you start shopping but I get tired easily and so although it is a good shop it's just not for me.

Tesco watford has an unbelievably large selection to choose from to cater for everyone’s palette, dietary and religious requirements! I highly recommend the waves car wash which is available in the car park! Those lads really do a great job valeting my car probably the best and affordable car wash in Middlesex

Best Tesco around. Depending on your view, that's either great or hellish. Huge slection on non-food items, pharmacy, click + collect, lots of electronics, clothes... Only problem is that it's pretty much always busy. Best to avoid weekends but weekday evenings aren't too bad.

Well it's finally open. The store was until recently tired and run down, prone to water leaks and strange nasty smells.. But that had all changed with the new look store. Bright and fresh with some arguably fun additions.. A Giraffe Restaurant stuck where the old dunkin' donut site used to be, a funky (and expensive) bakery selling bread rolls for 70p! (that's the same price as a small loaf of bread - surely?) And a patisserie selling high end cakes (£30 a cake). The deli is now centre stage with the additions of a Pizzeria and hot counter selling nicer than average pies and pasties. The store has been sectioned off nicely with F+F having a proper dedicated area for clothes (unfortunately all still a bit naff) and the veg shelves have been lowered and placed on nice tiles with a strange freshly cut root vegetable stand with steam (which is supposed to look like water vapour pouring over them giving the appearance of uber freshness but is suspiciously not!) For the primary purposes of shopping it actually is a much more pleasant experience and staff seem to be in abundance with some unfortunates having to wear the brightest of yellow T-Shirts and holding lollypop signs saying HERE TO HELP and all of them a bit too eager to do just that (this may have been because of the 50 or so upper management milling around taking LOTS of photos). It would be easy to hate the store with its slightly American makeover (to the point where I'm sure I heard a few American twangs creeping in over the usual Watford local dialect!), but the new look is very seductive indeed..TESCO have had a lot of knocks in the last two years, including financial loses for the first time. But with this type of investment I would be surprised if that is not reversed quickly. Shares anyone? Edit: OK. It's a couple of years on and the store has gone downhill rather rapidly. Most of the smart things they had are now gone, replaced by standard Tesco fare. Such a shame. There's a new Lidl opening across the way and having visited a few of the upmarket Lidls in Europe recently, I wouldn't be surprised if people will suddenly realise how much Tesco have short changed them. I look forward to seeing how Tesco responds as I think they will find a lot of customers turning right instead of left.

Not much to say, it is Tesco always busy, not enough staff, and if you do manage to find a member of staff they always moody. Since I've moved to Dubai I have realised the service in UK supermarket very poor, empty shelfs that's ok. Other than that, the store has 95% of the things you need, but make sure if you are planning a BBQ in the summer, make sure you go to Tesco the night before otherwise good luck.

I went to get a few items and on reaching the check out realised that I didn't have my wallet with me-how embarrassing! I went to the customer service counter and spoke to a young lady who was most helpful. She agreed to hold my shopping basket whilst I drove home & back to pay for my shoshopping. However, on reaching home, my wife said she needs the car to go out to her keep fit class which meant I can't collect the shopping in 30 mins. I decided to call the customer service tel no where I spoke to a gentleman who understood my predicament and offered to help by speaking to the store on my behalf to explain my problem. He then returned to my call and said that my shopping basket will be held till about 10pm which was a big help! The referigerated items would need to be returned to the fridge. A big Thank you very much to Tesco Customer services both in the phone and at the store !! Definitely a 5 star service in my book.

A nice revamp, but I'm not sure it's what Watford wants. Some real annoyances: Too much non-food. The food area is now too small and "trolley jams" are common. Why have they separated the frozen food area from the refrigerated food area? These two should be close together so you can shop in them one after the other just before you leave the store. That way your cold food stays cold and your frozen food stays frozen.

I love the new look Tesco! Depending on how lost for ideas you are it can almost be viewed as the place to go! Ephorium looks great I can put a few pounds on just looking, but I dont like the exposure; i'm afraid I wouldn't purchase a loaf or slices of cake that are open for others to handle /replace, talk , cough and sneeze over, so unles its covered I wont buy it - dome covers should do the trick. My other pet hate which was there long before the refurbishment, when you try to pull bags either for your veg or to pack your shopping, watching as people struggle and resort to licking their fingers and thumbs pulling the bags selecting their veg not liking the one they have selected and retuning it to the pile YUK!!!! yes wash all fruit and veg, but better still wipes that can be pulled or someting to moisten our hands would be better?? That said all in all afantastic new look!

Really lovely Tesco since the refurbishment. They have tricked out the shop with all manner of tech and spaced things out so there is room to breathe. Onsite they also have a lovely eiphorium bakery , coffee shop and even a giraffe restaurant.

The new Tesco Watford store blows every other UK supermarket out of the water! Sainsburys, Morrisons, Asda, Lidl etc etc - they all look like backstreet dumps imo compared to the newlook Tesco Extra. The US has been an expensive detour, but I suspect that Tesco has learnt a thing or two from our American cousins. Not such a disaster after all, perhaps.
