Bit on the pricey side, but where else can you buy puy lentils in the centre of York?
S. C.Amazing shop with a great range or choices from rice, pasta, oats, cereal, to snacks, fresh milk, spices, etc..worth taking a look around! (They have bags but you can also bring your own container)
B. S.An amazing refill shop! So much on offer in a small corner shop! So happy to find freeze dried raspberries which you rarely do in supermarkets.

They have a great selection and variety of products, and everything we've tried has been very good quality. We're particularly impressed with their herbs and spices as the quality is top notch (they're smoked paprika is amazing).
Highly recommended. If you want to start reducing your waste The Bishy Weight is a great help.
C. H.Absolutely love this place! Very friendly shop with knowledgeable staff who are happy to help. Great opening hours, so it's really convenient to pop in on my way home or at the weekend. Over Christmas I made a Christmas cake using only ingredients from the Bishy Weigh (excluding brandy), it came out great and it was nice to know it was plastic free! Great value, especially for spices, which are a fraction of the cost of getting them from the supermarket.
D.Great choice of products, a lot of care to go as plastic free as possible and very friendly staff! The range of spices and flours is great. They also have things like pearl barley, which is so nice. Also prices are reasonable.

O.I see they claim "plastic-free"... and then the other day I was in the shop: they run out of porcini mushrooms stored in glass containers, so they went to the back of the shop to pick up a ~1kg single use film plastic bag of mushrooms and they transfered the content into the glass jar exposed in the shop. Not giving 1 star cause I don't like putting down small local business, but a bit more transparency in their sustainability claims and the way they source product would be appreciated...
