Alter your dress with confidence. Abigail Westrup Bridal were recommended to me my Laura May Bridal. I had 3 appointments with their wonderful team and enjoyed every single one of them. I felt like the team took their time to understand the vision I had for my dress and they worked really hard to achieve it for me. The dress fitted perfectly and was a really enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with such an important gown – if you are looking for alterations in the Bristol or South Glos region this is the best place to go. Big thanks to the wonderful team there – you are truly talented.

Without the team at Abigail Westrup I wouldn't have had the most beautiful fitting dress for my wedding day! I had to have quite a few alterations in the end due to a 4 year wait, but each time I went my experience was so lovely. I cannot recommend Abigail and the team enough! I am so thankful that I chose to use them to alter my wedding dress, they were honestly incredible from start to finish. I came to them with a beautiful wedding dress that was a little too big and left with the PERFECT fitting dress. I couldn't have asked for a better team! They were great at suggestions and really helped guide my alterations to ensure that everything was just right. I was so thankful that I was not only able to collect my dress the week of the wedding but also try it on then too. It really helped take away any extra nerves on the morning of the wedding! I’m not local but chose to use Abigail Westrup as they work closely with The White Collection downstairs where I bought my dress. It was a lovely experience and they helped me fit my dress perfectly, even adding some custom details like buttons to the back. I am forever grateful to the Abigail Westrup Bridal team who fitted & altered my wedding dress, they were incredible from start to finish and genuinely the nicest bunch of people! A special shout out to Abigail, who did my first fitting and alteration meeting and to Dee and Angel who did the follow ups. I brought a beautiful dress but it had very thin straps - that I wasn't too keen on - but Dee worked her magic and created thicker straps with extra lace and wow, the end result was stunning! Thank you so much to all the ladies at Abigail Westrup for making my wedding dress PERFECT. It turns out that I ordered the dress at least a size too big but there was no way of returning it! I was also pretty insistent in how I wanted it to fit and I was hoping to have the waist as tiny as possible, which made it a tricky job for the ladies as it was a very detailed bodice and there was no going back once it was done so we couldn’t go too far! I had multiple appointments where we pinned the dress and discussed the alterations and we gradually chipped away at it until the last fitting where we zipped it up and it was absolutely perfect! Like a glove! And soooo professionally done. You’d never have known it was adjusted! Having a dress that doesn’t fit can be a worry but you made what could have been an anxious experience a positive one that was simply part of the wedding day journey! I also bought my veil from the shop as we found one (actually Dee found it!) that was perfect for the dress! What’s really cool is you also get to ‘sign the wall’ when you leave! A lovely touch! Oh and I ADORE the pink front door and the glittery bathroom accessories! Sounds silly but these things add the extra sparkle! Just thank you, thank you, thank you Rebecca xxx

I could not recommend AWB more highly and I’m so pleased they were the team altering my wedding dress. From my dress arrival at The White Collection I knew that my dress was in great hands. I had a large amount of the lace train removed and Dee was amazing at pinning this and double checking I was happy with the size and shape before changes were made. Abi went above and beyond and I am so grateful at the additional time she put in to allow me to come to a last minute appointment and travel back to Bristol to sort out the full sleeves on my dress to avoid me having anything added or changing the design of the dress. It was so perfect and I felt so confident throughout that my dress would be exactly how I wanted it and I couldn’t have been happier with how it looked on my wedding day. I had such an amazing experience here for my wedding dress fitting last year. All the staff were so wonderful and attentive. Dee made the alterations to my dress with custom sleeves and the outcome was more than I could have ever wished for! She was so happy, friendly and professional. Everything I asked for was done perfectly and nothing was too much. The team even squeezed in extra fitting appointments at last minute to accommodate little changes we wanted to make. I honestly can’t rave about them enough. I’ll always recommend them to everyone as they are wonderful at what they do. The fitting room is also beautiful and was a perfect space to try on my wedding dress.

My experience with Abigail Westrup Bridal was amazing. Dee was so so lovely and made me feel so comfortable whilst I was there. I only had some alterations but after just one fitting I came back a month later and my dress fitted perfectly and I just fell in love with the dress all over again and was able to take it home with me that day! Nothing was ever too much trouble even though they were at their busiest time of year. When you take you dress home you sign your name on their bride wall and I struggled to find a spot as they have had sooo many happy brides this year and I think that just says it all really. Honestly, wow! I cannot recommend Abigail Westrup Bridal enough and if you’re looking for bridal alterations, this is the place. The team are super talented and also all so lovely and kind. I had no idea what I was doing when planning my wedding and was also quite overwhelmed by the whole process. I’d bought my dress in 2018 with the plan of getting married in 2020, however covid put a stop to that. When I had my first fitting I was a bit worried as I hadn’t seen or tried my dress on for 4 years and I wanted to still love it. It was so big that it was hard to imagine how it would look but by the end of the first fitting I remember leaving, beaming with a smile and full of confidence. Two fittings later and the dress was coming home with me, it fitted like a glove and I couldn’t have been happier. My alteration experience really made the build up to the wedding so special, the team work so hard, put you at ease and do everything they can to make your dream dress a reality. Thank you xx

I cannot recommend AWB anymore, they went above and beyond whilst working on my wedding dress, it was not an easy task. Dee and Kayla worked together to completely change the top half of my dress to suit my figure, it meant they had to take it all off and start again and they completely transformed it. As well as this they added bespoke removable bardot arms to the dress, so I could take them off for the evening, they were truly beautiful! Both Dee and Kayla have an absolute eye for detail and I couldn’t believe how creative they were, they would pick a motif and just pop it in place and it would look incredible and fit perfectly. Team AWB fitted me in for extra fittings as well as kept me updated with the process and what they where doing. I cannot thank them all enough. I felt like an actual princess on my wedding day all thanks to Abi, Kayla and Dee! Thank you girls xx

I cannot say thank you enough to the wonderful team at Abigail westrup. Nothing was too much hassle! Dee and Jodie were amazing. Dee had her work cut out, due to me being pregnant. Dee lowered the back, shorted the waist band and so much more to my ceremony dress. She also hemmed, lowered the back and just generally worked her magic on my second evening dress all to accommodate my growing bump! Jodie carried out my last fitting and was really attentive and able to answer any questions. I still can’t believe that Dee was able to carry out the shear amount of work that she did in such a short space of time! My dressed both fitted perfectly on the day! Thank you again!!

I would give the ladies at Abigail Westrup a 1 million star review if I could. Not only did they fit my dress to me like a second skin - I actually had more compliments on the way the dress fitted than the actual dress, and so many people asking me where I’d had it fitted - but with only 1 week till the big day, they moved mountains to squeeze me in 1 final time to ensure the dress was perfect. Stef was a complete ray of sunshine and I wanted to take her home with me and the dress and Abi’s faultless perfection when it came to the final touches of fitting were impeccable. I can’t recommend AWB highly enough, they have been so fantastic with some major alterations to my dress! I first ordered my dress not long after the birth of my second child but with 3 lockdown / cancellations later and a changing body shape it was a long journey to finally getting up the aisle! We added custom sleeves and reduced the train to a ‘puddle’ not to mention many fitting adjustments and Dee was just amazing at every appointment, so patient and knowledgeable, she just made it all look perfect! We also altered my mum, sister and niece’s dresses and they all fitted so perfectly, we can’t thank you enough. A great experience from start to finish, each fitting is a lovely memory and a big part of our overall wedding experience!

I bought a wedding dress which was two sizes too big with the intention of getting it taken up and taken in, only to be told after buying it (from a different person - not Abi) that the amount of alterations I needed was not possible and I would just have to chop the bottom off! After being in tears for a while with the thought this person was going to completely ruin my dress, I found Abi's contact details and phoned her to see if she could help me. Immediately she put me at ease. She only needed a photo of the dress to tell me that she was able to alter it with absolutely no problems at all. My first dress fitting was such a relief. After the alterations (which were priced very well) my wedding dress looked better than I could imagine; she suggested some extra little tweaks not only to make it fit but to sculpt it to my figure. I could not rate her highly enough. She is a very talented, very patient and an excellent seamstress. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thanks so much for making our day so perfect! My husband loved my dress!
