Was in Edinburgh for the weekend and needed to replace my jacket zip. They did that in less than 24h. Good job and fair price.

The man who owns this shop is a magician with a sewing machine! I asked him to tailor a suit which was far, far too big for me - basically, the trousers needed to be totally remade using the original fabric. He did an exceptionally good job, and my suit is now perfect in every way. This service was expensive, but good value for money taking the extent of work into account. He was actually recommended to me by the staff at Reiss on Multrees Walk, and I think his reputation is very well deserved.

I had my trousers (from a reiss suit), a top and a summer dress made from fine material altered. I cannot recommend a better service. The trousers fit perfectly when I came back for them, the top was altered a little bit on spot due to misunderstanding (I noticed the tailor to even use a magnifying glass when removing the stitches) and the dress also fit perfectly. I don't understand why the reviews are so bad as I only have had a positive experience and I was actually referred to use this service by an acquaintance. There is a great attention to detail and a professional service.

Amazing Tailors! Always had bad experience with Tailors in Edinburgh but they, they are just so impressive. Im very suprice of opinions in comments bellow as I used this place for Dry cleaning my expensive poofy winter coat and it come back as a brand new. I'm very satisfacted of cleaning and alternation they do as well. They fixed my other coat which I love and I even can't image how they done it as there was no mark of stitching or anything. I always trust them with everything from my wardrobe. Of course alternation takes sometimes 3 days but I think its normal as they are the best Tailors in Edinburgh and there is definitly other customers alternation in order to do. I would always recomment them to everyone. ❤❤❤

Always had great repairs and alterations from here. I had a pair of jeans with a hole in the inner thigh and it was repaired to such a high quality I could barely tell where the damage was originally. Would definitely recommend :)

I normally don't leave the feedbacks on internet but I felt like I have to, after seeing some of these posted below... I am not sure if these are reviews left by people working for the competitions or just a bunch of trolls but they describe things that I honestly doubt that ever took place. I use the City Alterations for many years and I hope that this alone speaks for itself. I never encountered any issues and all the items that I left for alterations were returned to me in perfect condition and altered just the way I wanted them to be. The secretary working over there is very kind and hard working woman and I am surprised by the amount of patience she has. I witnessed many times how tolerant and understading she was towards the nastiest people that crawled out from the cracks of hell. If it was me - I would probably smack them across the face. But no, she just stays serene against all odds. I think that the most hilarious/ridiculous review that I saw, was the one posted by the user who describes the blood stained wedding dress. It so happens I WAS THERE to witness the situation. What actually happened was the woman, shouting like a 5 year old that she wishes for the dress to be done on the spot and upon hearing that it cannot be altered that fast, she literally went into tears and kiddy fit before storming and shouting that she will wreck this business one way or another. If I recollect correctly, her partner [I assume!] appeared later on and spoke to the staff but at least he himself acted more polite than his bat **** crazy lady. It is also typical to witness in this store a cheapskates who, once their clothes are altered, try to bargain about the price. ''If I don't get it cheaper I am not going to leave you guys a good review''.If I got a £1 for every time I heard that stuff, I would by now own all properties in Edinburgh. Haha.
