Really helpful staff. I'd bought a pair of running shoes online and found they were too small. Arranged to exchange at the Maidstone branch. They had the new pair waiting, but even they were a bit tight so the next size up appeared, perfect fit, and I left happy. Great service and great stock too.

Booked in for a gait analysis at Runners Need; which is within Cotswold Outdoors. We were greeted by Steve who was absolutely lovely, very friendly and knowledgeable. After taking a look at my old shoes and the wear on them, Steve grabbed a pair of neutral shoes in my size and I was then filmed jogging in them on the in-store treadmill to establish any pronation. Carol took over at this point and confirmed my requirements and found me some shoes in my size to try on. Left a very happy customer with a lovely pair of new shoes. Huge thanks to Steve and Carol for their help and fantastic service ☺️

Such a sad imitation of the well stocked useful shop of only a few years ago. There were helpful, knowledgeable people who hiked, camped, climbed and ran, they knew what they were talking about if asked about gear and clothing, all gone. The clothing choice is now frankly abysmal, backpacking gear is limited and choice of brands of well made smaller brands entirely omitted now. I cannot see that there will ever be a need for me to visit this shop again, and I used to visit at least twice a month

We've been here twice in the last couple of months to buy walking boots. On both occasions great customer service from Adam, no pressure to buy and able to take our time walking around the store etc. There is also the opportunity to try and return the boots if they've not been worn outside but check this with the store. Parking outside free but restricted time limit.

Had a lady serve me yesterday. Sunday 17th June. She apparently hadn't worked there that long, forgotten her name. She measured my feet absolutely thoroughly and explained lot's of info about trekking and approach shoes and other equipment. I don't usually review but have to say excellent service advice and support.been a customer for years and well aware of the quality equipment from yrs of mountaineering and rock climbing.

I phoned in advance, only realising the night before leaving on Eurotunnel that we would need two new sleeping mats. Cotswolds were happy to put two mats (my chosen brand/model) aside for me, so we could stop off on the way to Folkestone and pick them up. (They're also right by the M20, so it was super-convenient.) Really friendly as well as helpful. They saved the day!
