As a student, AB is expensive. But it was worth every penny spent. I found an amazing Soviet military greatcoat that fit extremely well apart from my sleeves and the length. So I looked for a tailor. The stakes were high - a vintage soviet wool coat dating from the 1980s in an amazing condition. I didn't want to destroy such an amazing piece with a bad tailor job, so I went for AB. Elena is an amazing tailor and truly an expert. She advised me the proper length on a greatcoat, and I asked if it should be shorter. She suggested not to change the length, so I trusted her expertise. Best decision I ever made. I've been wearing the coat for winter and it is the exact height it should be, an the fit is proportionate. Had I listened to myself and asked for my length, I would have wasted away a perfectly good coat. Thank you Elena! You've tailored the most prized piece in my wardrobe, and boy, does it look smart as hell.

I purchased a beautiful coat however it didn’t fit me correctly. The sleeves were too long and it was too bulky on the waist. I took it to AB and they pinned my coat for me. They tailored it beautifully and it fit me very well when I came to collect it. Fantastic!

Amazing work. Came here roughly two months before the wedding to get it altered from a size UK12 down to a size UK8, along with adding beads to a plain white dress and flowers on the veil. She did an amazing job, we had an initial consultation on what we wanted to do to the dress, then a second consultation after to see the work. The dress was half done at this point so we had to book a third fitting two weeks before the wedding. To be honest I wasn't happy with it on the third fitting as it was not what I expected, but I am willing to take full responsibility for this mistake as it was my fault for not communicating well, it is always hard for me to explain my vision to others. However, a week after that, the fourth and final fitting the dress exceeded my expectations, I was more than happy with what she was able to to do the dress, and it fitted like a glove. I highly recommend her work, she is amazing and works fast!

I took my wedding dress to have the zip off the back removed and a corset added. What can I say the lady in the Manchester is amazing. On the first visit tried the dress on she measured and kept the dress. Then due to lockdown and COVID, I have had to swap and change my fitting a number of times and nothing was ever to much trouble. I had a pair of leather pants that I purchased back in the early noughties when it was all about the boot cut. But since then I’ve realised I’m more suited to a more tapered trouser and Jean. I loved my leather pants because the leather was so soft and I wanted them altered in length, some taken off the waist and tapered but I was concerned about the outer seam not looking nice and flat after the work is done. I called to many other establishments who wouldn’t take it on and then I found AB and the lovely lady Maddy. I left them with her for a week and just picked them up this morning and WOW, AB have managed to maintain a flawless seem to every alteration on my very treasured leather pants and made them fit and look like a normal pair of tapered jeans...thank you AB and Maddy. Excellent service from beginning to end and I’ll most definitely use them again.

I was greeted by Fay upon entry to Alterations Boutique Manchester and was immediately pleased by her friendly demeanour. She was attentive, complimentary and listened to my concerns regarding my dress, whilst also making helpful suggestions. We ended up taking out the padding at the front, lifting the dress to prevent the arms from falling and inserting a strip to add support to the bra and ensure it also wouldn't be visible. The manager of the shop was also understanding and willing to compromise when it came to our small covid wedding budget. I came back a week later and was extremely happy with the result, And consequently felt like a beautiful bride on my wedding day. I couldn't recommend them enough :)
