I LOVE my Highland Cow aka Coo!!! From the moment I walked in Bizarre Ink I knew I wanted to get my tattoo done there! Spacey, the owner, was quick to help me by answering all of my questions. John, the best artist ever, was amazing, absolutely amazing! They both made the entire experience so very memorable in the best possible way!! I will definitely go back to get more work done the next time I travel to Edinburgh!!

Ismael is fantastic! He has the lightest touch, so the experience was so easy and quick. I told him to be prepared to take a couple breaks because I can be kind of a wimp, but I didn’t need a single one. Things more uncomfortable than getting a tattoo from Ismael: the plane ride back to Texas, dentist appointments, small talk…seriously come see this guy! Also one of the coolest things about Bizarre Ink was that it was the only tattoo shop I found in Edinburgh that would even entertain the idea of a walk-in appointment. I enjoy getting tattoos impulsively so I appreciate being able to drop in whenever I’m in the mood. We ended up doing it a couple days later because I came like an hour before they closed and my idea was a little too big to get done in an hour- but I really appreciated that they were willing to try! Last thing, he did a great job bringing my idea to life, I wasn’t sure if I was explaining it well but he totally picked up on the art style I was after and exceeded my expectations in terms of execution. Should I ever return to Edinburgh it’ll mostly be to come back to Bizarre Ink.

I can not recommend John at Bizare ink enough. He is incredibly talented and makes your whole experience enjoyable. I had a 6hour sitting and never felt awkward for a second, what a great interesting guy to spend 6 hours with.The whole shops atmosphere is relaxed, I have had maybe 15 tattoos over the years and John's is the best I have ever had, I will be back!! Thank you so much Guy's, it was such a fun way to spend a day off!

Thanks to Ismael for creating the perfect interpretation of my tattoo. I spent a happy 4 hours under the needle talking about life, the universe and everything and on the side getting ink that I love and that impresses people. We laughed at the end at me taking advantage of my holiday in Edinburgh to get a Scottish tattoo in Scotland and in the end beIng drawn on by a Spaniard….but that made it all the more special. The studio was spotlessly clean, the team super friendly, and the skill of the artist superb. I am planning my next one (or two) and whilst I live more than 4 hours away, would happily travel here again.

Amazing shop! 💛 absolutely over the moon with my new tattoos! which include, a cover up and a redraw. I had desperately needed to get some old tattoos covered/worked on and I couldn't be happier with the result. John was outstanding, proper old school and didn't mess about, kind and very helpful. On a trip to Edinburgh, spontaneously decided to get a tattoo. Managed to book an appointment for the next day with bizarre ink. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and made me feel very relaxed about my first tattoo. Very professional and the whole aftercare was explained very well. Best shop in Edinburgh. Ismael is an incredible artist and a very talented tattooer. I tend to have tough skin and also bled a lot with my tattoos in the past which have left them sort of patchy, but Ismael managed give me a flawless half-sleeve which healed really fast and the line work and shading is solid. From the start to the finish he was great, helping me with the design process as I had a lots of ideas of what I wanted but didn't know how to place them. Ismael was very understanding, reassuring and helpful and at the end I have an amazing tattoo which everyone compliments. Now I just need to get booked in for the other half of the sleeve.

I went in hoping for a walk in appointment and got a slot within an hour. Very helpful in drawing and redrawing my tattoo to fit what I wanted and also advice on proper after care and how positioning is important due to skin stretching and rubbing on clothes. Good quality!

I've been getting tattooed in this shop since I was 18 by resident artist John. My first tattoo was in 2014 and most recent was this month (October 2020) . His work is amazing he's designed pretty much all of my work based on rough ideas of what I wanted and I've always been more than happy with what he's produced. The shop is always a good atmosphere, banter is brilliant and they honestly look after you so well. Totally reasonable prices for getting a tattoo in the centre of Edinburgh and let's be honest a tattoo isn't something you want to cheap out on. My wife has also been tattooed at this shop by another resident artist Ismael and again brilliant work professional service and just generally friendly attitude. I can't recommend this shop enough you won't find a better combination of skilled artists and a professional friendly service.

Lovely experience today with Ismael getting my 2nd tattoo. We didn’t book, but he worked with us so nicely on our designs. He was so patient and understanding as I was a bit nervous and unsure of exactly what I wanted. While he was doing the tattoo, I could see he was so careful and quite a perfectionist making sure it was all even with no gaps. We also had a great chat and some laughs!! The studio was also extremely clean due to Covid 19 and they made sure sure the correct protocols were in place. Can not emphasise enough how happy I am with my tattoo!! Start to finish with my experience, I had a few tattoo ideas that I would like done but I was wanting a tattooists view on what would be best, size place ect, I sat down with spacey to go over the ideas and he took my idea on board and drawn up what he thought was best and changed a few things to make it look better. Then got a booking date to get started. It was going to be 2 sittings as it is quite big and detailed. So first sitting.... walked into the shop and the staff were so pleasant offered tea, coffee made sure I was okay, helped with the nerves as I've never had a big tatto. Spacey came through to take me to the room, had another look over everything to make sure I was fully happy before we got started. Everywhere was all clean and he even wiped it all down again to be extremely safe. All needles were removed from its packaging infront of you so you know there fresh. All inks were freshly poured for you to see. During the tatto spacey was always checking to make sure I was okay and had plenty for stops so he wasn't over doing it, even had what music i wanted to listen to so i was as relaxed as i could be. That was the first sitting done. Went back 4 weeks later to get the rest done and it was the same experience the first time round with the staff being so friendly, place being so clean. The same experience in the room with everything getting all wiped down, fresh needles and ink, at the end he talked over after care what and what not to do. Took photos on my phone so I can see it on both sittings as it was on my back its hard to see it. I've never been to a tattoo studio thats so professional, friendly, clean and take there time to do the best they can do instead of doing it so quick just to get the next person in. Would highly recommend going and I will definitely be back for more.

Been travelling some 160 miles from home to this studio over the last 12 years. Passing many a studio along the way for good reason... Bizarre Ink is the first studio I ever attended at 18, and because of the respect and professionalism I was dealt, it will be the only studio I'll ever visit. Have had nothing but the best of work, treatment as a customer, experiences and laughs in my many hours spent there. Spacey and his workforce are as much professional artists as they are comedians and kind gentlemen. I've personally had 30+ hours of work done here, not to mention the hours put in by the staff drawing up my designs, tweaking them, altering them to my requests and perferences until they're perfect. All in their own time... Hand-drawn one of a kind pieces of art included in the hourly rate, something that many customers don't realise. One such piece was a cover up, which had an outcome I was truly amazed with, almost forgot what it was covering - incredible. Yet another speciality which Bizarre Ink offers. A true team of great guys, great artists and all round great people. Customer for life is all I'm saying :)

Awesome Studio! I have been coming here for years, to see the man, the myth that is Barry Goddard! Barry has been tattooing me for 10 years and his artwork, approach, professionalism and desire to create the very best tattoo for his clients every single time is of the highest calibre. The studio is warm, welcoming and hospitable. The owner, Spacey will often pop his head in and offer you a cuppa and his tale of woe to take your mind off the long time in the chair. He`s been friendly, gave us advice and kindly designed a tattoo based on our idea. Having had no tattoo before it took ages for me to decide where on my body to have my tattoo done and there was no pressure from John, he has been easygoing and that helped a lot, because one has to be 100% happy with their decision....and I love my unique tattoo which has been done to perfection! Excellent service. As soon as I walked in you get friendly, down to earth banter. I had a design all ready that I thought was good to go, but they helped me resize it and it looked great. I was tattooed by John, and we had a good laugh during it, which made the experience far more bearable. He even gave me a cigarette afterwards!! The fact that the tattoo I got is binary code, means it's really tough to tattoo and look straight, but it's done to perfection!! Would recommend this to anyone. Excellent.
