Had my second tattoo done by Maxx this afternoon, and I absolutely love it, his attention to detail is second to none! From the moment you walk in to the very cool and quirky Shop you are instantly put at ease, Maxx makes a point of making sure you are happy and calm, before starting you’re tattoo. I have had a few days to reflect upon my experience with Max. I have a number of tattoos and the last one I got a few years ago made me think that was it. The pain was too much. I was nervous after deciding to get more work done and man, the experience I had here with Max is like night and day compared to the previous guy in NZ. Less pain, great work and truly an experienced and talented individual. Looking forward to finishing the work and I'm not nervous anymore.

went in for help with a tragus piercing after the earring came out during healing (my fault). Courtney helped me and talked me through the process and was amazing! the shop itself is lovely and neat as a pin. everyone there is very friendly and it's a welcoming environment. will definitely keep them in mind for future tatts/piercings and I suggest others do as well!!

Great friendly service from artists who know what they are doing. Prices are reasonable and the shop looks great. I would definitely recommend this place. I've had loose ideas for what tattoos I wanted and with the tattoo artists imagination and vision, the tattoos they had down for me have been brilliant.

I am trying to get tattoos wherever I travel and I was coming into edinburgh for only a short time during the holidays. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to book with anyone, but marco from plus 48 tattoo was available and was super awesome! he worked with what I was wanting, sent me photos ahead of time, and was super accommodating since I was from the states. the tattoo process was easy and casual. the owner of the shop was really nice and awesome as well. they asked us if we wanted anything to drink, if we had any preference for the music that played. he insisted my friend come and sit with me even though it's a pretty cozy place. my plan was just one tattoo, and marco saw my really faded and overpriced tattoo I received in NY from an apprentice and offered to go back over it for me. he did that for both of mine. my friend wanted to get something small done last minute and he was totally on board and able, which made me want another one as well. marco was really, really great! I highly recommend this spot. the owner was also giving us tips and advice for hogmanay and edinburgh in general which was great for us since this was our first time here.
