Had a tattoo done by Beth on Wednesday and I must say she's outstanding she totally exceed my expectation of the design and it is way better than the original I sent her (she had to modify as couldn't copy another person's tattoo) I am in love and can't wait for my next one. My friend also got one done on same day and same again his turned out amazing. Beth you're a superstar and I will be back very soon.

I had a tattoo done by Beth today and it was absolutely amazing, she was so lovely and made sure I was happy with everything before we started. I cannot say how happy I am with the outcome! Also got to have two ear piercings done by the piercer there, which was awesome! Would definitely go back to her, so friendly and calming throughout the process and her cute dog Chester was a bonus!!! Thanks guys!!!

Raddest spot in Edinburgh! Tattoos and piercings for a more than reasonable price and a friendly atmosphere like nowhere else. Got some tattoos and a piercing here recently and couldn't be happier. John, Justin and Beth are all masters at their craft and you can really tell the passion they put into their work. Lora who does the piercings is an absolute legend as well and makes the whole process a breeze. 10/10 go here if you're in the area!

I had my Prince Albert done by Lora. She is quite frankly the best piercer I have had the experience of meeting. She was so knowledgable about her craft and her high energy made the experience extraordinary . This was a nerve racking piercing to get but she was so professional as well as being down to earth and friendly. I will never go to another piercer in my life. Thank you Lora.

I highly recommend this shop! Went for a tattoo today and love the result. John was very friendly, there was good music on and a friendly atmosphere. It took slightly longer than we had expected, but this was not a problem. I was not charged for the extra time which i was suprised and happy about. Friendly, professional, great qaulity and good value.

Relatively Painless Tattoo in my opinion is one of the best tattoo studios in Edinburgh. The work John and his apprentice Beth produce is to a high standard. It is a laid-back and welcoming studio, which John has put some nice finishing touches on with the horror art and film memorabilia. John did a cover up piece on my thigh. It took me years to settle on a specific style and design to cover the area, and who to do it. I seen his work on Instagram and got in touch to pitch the design. I am delighted with the final outcome.

Great tattoo done today. Very professional and with everything happening in the world recently I felt very safe and comfortable. Temperature taken and PPE gift bag given before we even went through into the tattoo area. Love the work done and will definitely be back very soon.

My sisters and I got tattooed by John and it was a great experience. Super easy to book, clean and cool studio and John and his colleagues were really friendly and welcoming. I got my ears pierced here they look so good and they were so nice and it was my first piercing and they explained everything. in case your wondering (for me, probably for everyone) they use a needle not a gun but a needles more sanitary I think so yeah ok if you need a place too get your ears pierced go here

I had been in there with a friend who was discussing tattoos as part of a photography project he is planning to do back in March, and just from talking with John and Craig I could tell that they were serious about the work, and in it for the love of tattooing and doing good jobs that people would be proud to have on their skin. From this point on, I kept them in mind for getting a piece done that I've wanted since before I had even had my first tattoo. The same friend then went there to get his first one done, and John did a great job of it and my friend is very pleased with the result. I ended up going in to talk with them a week or so later about getting my one done. It was Craig that I spoke with, and told him roughly what I wanted and let him know that I had all the images I want as part of the tattoo already drawn/decided upon but was having difficulty piecing them together. As this would be the first tattoo I would be getting that wasn't entirely drawn by myself, I was a little nervous about getting it done by anyone else, but trusted Craig's judgement. I emailed the pictures through and today I went to get it done. I hadn't seen his design until I got there this afternoon, and I was VERY happy. He did a great job putting it together and editing it slightly to make it work and adding in a few wee bits here and there. The tattoo experience there was great. Craig was good to chat to, had some good music playing in the shop and was accommodating when I needed to move my arm now and then, didn't mind me having my friend in with me for the duration, and was good with the cups of tea!! I now have all the lining done and some of the shading, can't wait to get back there in 3 weeks to get the colour done, I'm so pleased with how it's turned out so far, I'd recommend them to anyone

Recently got a tattoo at Relatively Painless and being my first, I was feeling a bit uneasy. I talked the designs over with Craig until we had exactly what I wanted. It was so great to know that he genuinely cared about getting the designs perfect rather than just trying to get me in and out as quick as possible. After seeing Craig and John's artwork and physically meeting them, I knew this was the right studio and will definitely be revisiting when I get my next one. They are both great guys, very professional, the studio is very clean and to top it off, they've always have a great set of tunes on.

Had first tattoo done aged 45!! The guys were super nice, Craig did 2 for me and John did one for my friend. Nice mellow place, they did an amazing job, didnt hang around just got going and the results were exactly what we were both looking for. Nice tunes in the shop also. I had a tattoo done by Craig who did a brilliant job! Craig made me feel really comfortable and was ultra professional. The tattoo was the most painless I have had (hence the name I guess!!) which I think says alot about the guys tattoo-talents. Will 100% be dropping by to have my next tattoo when I am in the area. Got my first tattoo here a year and a half ago just after it opened. Couldn't recommend them more! They put me at ease and even though it was a small tattoo it was done well and still looks great. They also gave me a free sachet of hustle butter since the cash machine round the corner wasn't working 😉

A pair of lovely lads, irreverent and fun. Pushing the moral envelope of tattooing - no copying other artists' work etc. - is becoming more common and this pair are keen on doing good work rather than just doing whatever pays. They're also friendly and chatty enough that if you left your needle-phobic granny in there she'd probably come out inked up as some sort of battle machine. Excellent stuff.
