I have got my first "the Watermelon Tattoo" tattoo on Saturday. It was a great experience. Sandie and Noemi handled my requests diligently since July 2019! After many cancellations due to the pandemic, I have finally got my beetroots and it is done by amazing Noemi. Sandie was very quick with picking up emails and rescheduling my appointments when I was not able to attend the earlier ones. He was and is a very kind person. Noemi took her time with me to discuss about the design on paper as well as on my skin. She clearly explained me the design variations that could be done with the figure I wanted to have. The place was spotless clean, and everyone was so kind and friendly. Thank you very much Noemi, you have transformed one of my most precious memories into an artwork and I will carry it proudly. I visited Watermelon last week to have a tattoo done by Noemi. The whole studio has a warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere and all the staff are so lovely, helpful and approachable. Noemi herself is an incredible artist and professional, who really cares about her clients. She created beautiful designs based on my idea for me to choose from, and sought my input. She made sure I was happy with everything before proceeding with the tattoo and during the procedure she frequently asked how I was feeling. The tattoo she gave me is outstanding and beyond what I expected was possible to achieve with tattoos! Watermelon also provide very clear aftercare instructions, and the opportunity to contact them if there are any issues. An amazing tattoo studio which I would recommend to anyone and would love to return to in future!

I got a tattoo done by Liz at watermelon and it was an absolutely lovely experience start to finish. When I went in, I got a really friendly welcome and everyone was happy to help. Liz made the most amazing design for me using just two reference pictures and gave me advice on side and placement and made sure I was 100% happy with it. I was in for a full day and everyone was really lovely, Liz explained everything she was doing and made the whole experience a really good day. I had such a laugh there. My tattoo is incredible! The detail is amazing and I couldn’t be happier. I cannot recommend these guys enough, I felt so welcomed and totally comfortable in their company. If you’re looking for a tattoo, this is the place to go!

I got my first tattoo at Watermelon by Liz, about two weeks ago. It was a really lovely and comfortable experience; everyone was friendly and helpful, and they made the experience really fun. Liz gave me great advice on the placement of my tattoo and redesigned my original drawing brilliantly. She was very professional and clear with instructions on how to care for the tattoo. I also got a cute 1st tattoo certificate when my appointment was done. I highly recommend this studio if you're getting your first tattoo! 🍉

I had two tattoos done by Noemi today. Firstly the studio is so welcoming and instantly puts your nerves at ease. Noemi was so accommodating when I had a last minute change to one of my designs. I really appreciated being shown all the equipment being taken out of the packaging prior to the tattoo, reiterating how clean and professional the studio is. The tattoos themselves were the least painful tattoos I’ve had and were finished much quicker than I expected. So clean and crisp and better than I ever imagined. Aftercare is explained fully and I was able to purchase aftercare tattoo cream which is great to know I am using the best products for my new tattoos. Genuinely the best tattooing experience I have ever had, from booking in to getting the tattoo to the aftercare, I already can’t wait to be back for more! Thanks Watermelon 🍉

Yesterday I had my 3rd tattoo done by Noemi. I can’t recommend watermelon tattoo enough. I always feel looked after and it has such a great atmosphere. I was looking for a memorial tattoo of an iris and a bee for my gran, after losing her last year. I gave Noemi an image I liked and I’m absolutely blown away with the results. I've had two tattoos now from Noemi at Watermelon Tattoo and strongly recommend it if you're looking for a tattoo in Edinburgh. This tattoo was a large color floral piece which Noemi designed from several reference photos. It's lovely. Noemi also worked around an existing tattoo (done by a different artist) in that area and touched it up so that it really shined with the new tattoo. Aftercare instructions were really good and it's healing well.

Great place to get our (me, my wife and a friend) first tattoo after waiting for over 10 years. Sandie and Enriques made us feel comfortable as we were a bit tensed. Very friendly and lively. Enriquies gave some great suggestion but left the final decisions to us. The studio was clean and all precautions were taken through out the session. Booked in for a tattoo on my ribs with Liz as part of a Halloween fundraiser. Having read it was a painful area I was a little nervous. She sketched it out beautifully and explained the whole process; from sizing and which size would produce the best, most detailed and intricate results, to which colours she would use. Managed to get a spot with Noemi a couple months ago and the whole experience was great. From Sandie dealing with my emails/instagrams to Noemi dealing with my design and doing the tattoo. My fiancé gave me a gift certificate for a tattoo at Watermelon as a Christmas present but, because of the pandemic, I had to wait two years to get tattooed by Noemi. The wait was totally worth it. From initial contact with Sandie through the enquiry form, to Noemi following up on the form asking me how I envisioned the tattoo whilst giving her professional input, I knew my tattoo and my person would be well taken care of. Upon arriving at the studio I felt I was in the hands a very helpful, understanding, and professional people (and there was a lovely wee dug at reception!) with a great business. Noemi made sure that I was satisfied with the position of the tattoo and the colouring, she did her job so skillfully, everything was swift and hygienic, and she was very patient with me squirming a bit with pain (the tattoo I got was on the shoulder and chest region). Their aftercare products are amazing and both Sandie and Noemi were there to answer all my questions. I have gotten tattooed in two different countres besides Scotland and the overall experience at Watermelon has been the best so far. 10s across the board!

I got the one meaning Protected and the one meaning Safe below it. Noemi, Alice and Enrique were all super lovely. Alice in reception was super lovely and welcoming, Enrique was also really lovely and friendly and happy to help with his input and Noemi was super lovely, professional, gentle and really quick as always. So I booked my tattoo in January 2020 for June the same year. Due to COVID restrictions, the passing of my cat, and the tier restrictions the tattoo was pushed back again and again. Each time the team were so friendly and understanding when I called asking about whether I was allowed travel to Edinburgh this time. They even held my deposit the whole time, even though there were a couple of times when I called expecting to lose my deposit. When the day finally came, everyone was friendly, professional and patient with me, ensuring I was comfortable and letting me take a break when I needed it. The tattoo is beautiful, and the aftercare advice I was given was AMAZING. No scabbing!!! One of the best tattoo healing experiences I’ve ever had. It’s not fully done healing yet I don’t think, but definitely through the initial healing period and it’s looking great. Thank you Noemi, Sandie and Alice!!! My experience with Watermelon Tattoo was nothing short of incredible from start to finish. All the staff were so lovely and welcoming. I’d booked in specifically with Enrique, and provided a design that I would like as a cover up to a previous tattoo. Enrique did his own interpretation of the design which I loved. I was worried I would need a much larger tattoo as it was a cover up, but Enrique designed it in such a way that meant it was as small as I wanted ideally. He was so professional and everything had to be absolutely perfect to the millimetre - even when I said ach it’s fine, he wasn’t happy till it was perfect. Throughout the actual tattooing he frequently checked in to make sure I was ok and it wasn’t too sore (which it wasn’t). The information about aftercare was great, and Enrique responded really quickly to reassure me when I had a question about the second skin. Overall, loved it, and I would not hesitate about going back or referring Watermelon Tattoo to a friend. Thanks guys xx

I booked an appointment with Noemi to get cedar sprigs around an existing tattoo, and the whole process was wonderful from start to finish. I took much longer than I was expecting to settle on the exact design and placement but Noemi was amazing - she took the time to walk through some options with me on the day of the appointment. And she was incredibly patient as I asked to see pretty much every size and placement possible. But I am so glad she let me take my time - I am so thrilled with the beautiful design she made for me, and the placement is perfect!! Had my first ever tattoo done with Noemi. Her style is amazing, and she was the perfect artist to do the design I wanted. We had a thorough consultation in March, then the pandemic hit and I thought, "well, there goes that." But by the time my appointment came up in November, we were ready to go (carefully). Being my first tattoo and all, I was nervous, but Noemi immediately put me at ease. She patiently explained what she was doing and everything that was going to happen. We walked through a few design possibilities before she put the stencil on my arm. Every step of the way, she made sure I was happy. Even though she was poking me with needles, she was extremely gentle. I always felt like a human being, not a canvas. She made sure I was comfortable and okay while she worked - although most of the time we were both quiet (which is ideal for me). (Quiet except for the amazing music in the shop!) Noemi continued being patient and thorough with me while explaining the aftercare procedures I would need to do. I bought their care kit to make things easy on myself. After following the instructions and not picking(!), there was absolutely no fading or issues 3 weeks later. (My camera technique isn't as fancy as the day 1 pic I got at the shop, but it shows the gorgeous colour and detail.) I absolutely recommend Watermelon Tattoo. I wasn't planning on getting more than one, but now I want to.

I had my tattoo done 3 days ago by the lovely Jolanda (a guest artist) and I absolutely adore it! I was welcomed by a very friendly Noemi and felt at ease from the very beginning. Jolanda took the time to explain to me very patiently all the steps and, after the tattoo, she applied a "second skin" film, which made the first days of after care very easy to manage. Sandie and Noemi are good fun together and the family-business vibe made the whole experience very relaxed. I even spotted a cheeky wee kid looking at me from his hideout! :P The studio itself is very pretty, colourful and clean. I definitely recommend it and can't wait to be back!

Where to begin! ONE WORD FABULOUS. This whole experience was amazing, after having to reschedule due to the last lockdown this managed to fit in nicely as an early birthday treat! From the moment I walked in (late and flustered feeling rather embarrassed) I was greeted and made to feel so welcome and relaxed. The shop is beautiful and so inviting. Very clean with excellent COVID measures. Sandi is a star and was genuinely interested in getting to know me which made me feel so valued! His sporadic singing from reception was also a god save during some of the more painful bits! Noemi was just amazing, friendly very considerate and so funny! We ended up having so much in common and I honestly can say I will never let anyone else tattoo me! She’s just too good! I had a dramatic before and after lavender on my wrist and I couldn’t believe the outcome! Along with a new band of wild flowers on my ankle which so far has been my most painful tattoo but Noemi was great at checking in and distracting me when I needed it! I hope I wasn’t too wriggly! All together this experience was something I will treasure and after such a difficult year it has really helped me feel some sort of normality and fun!
