I have got my first "the Watermelon Tattoo" tattoo on Saturday. It was a great experience. Sandie and Noemi handled my requests diligently since July 2019! After many cancellations due to the pandemic, I have finally got my beetroots and it is done by amazing Noemi. Sandie was very quick with picking up emails and rescheduling my appointments when I was not able to attend the earlier ones. He was and is a very kind person. Noemi took her time with me to discuss about the design on paper as well as on my skin. She clearly explained me the design variations that could be done with the figure I wanted to have. The place was spotless clean, and everyone was so kind and friendly. Thank you very much Noemi, you have transformed one of my most precious memories into an artwork and I will carry it proudly. Had my first tattoo with Liz yesterday. The whole experience was excellent. The shop is really friendly, clean and professional. The took time to put me at ease from the outset. During my initial consultation Liz took her time to really understand what I was looking for both in terms of the design I had in mind and what it meant to me. The design she came up with exceeded my expectations. The process of getting the tattoo was great. It goes without saying that it hurt, but I felt that I was in safe hands and that Liz was taking care to minimise any discomfort. The tattoo looks great and feels like it’s healing well. Went to Watermelon for my second tattoo, was pretty nervous but was beyond happy with the experience. The staff are so friendly and welcoming but balance it with also being incredibly professional! Liz was the artist that tattood me and she was wonderful, very accomodating of any questions I had and just a genuinely lovely person, she took in mind any suggestions I had design wise and created a great tattoo for me! Would definitely recommend, especially for those like myself who don't have many tattoos but are interested in getting more. Sandy also helped me out with a tattoo voucher I was aquiring a few days later, he sorted it out for me very quickly and had it ready for me to collect in store which was great! I was lucky enough to book in with one of their wonderful guest artists, Jane Cho, who designed a beautiful tattoo for me based on the flowers in my wedding bouquet. Despite a few delays on the day due to unavoidable circumstances, Sandie, Noemi and Jane were all wonderful and I felt super comfortable going into the tattoo session. The set up of the studio is really sleek and smart, very clean without feeling sterile, and there is so much life and character in the studio and the artists that my experience was utterly joyful. Had my first ever tattoo done with Noemi. Her style is amazing, and she was the perfect artist to do the design I wanted. We had a thorough consultation in March, then the pandemic hit and I thought, "well, there goes that." But by the time my appointment came up in November, we were ready to go (carefully). Being my first tattoo and all, I was nervous, but Noemi immediately put me at ease. She patiently explained what she was doing and everything that was going to happen. We walked through a few design possibilities before she put the stencil on my arm. Every step of the way, she made sure I was happy. Even though she was poking me with needles, she was extremely gentle. I always felt like a human being, not a canvas. She made sure I was comfortable and okay while she worked - although most of the time we were both quiet (which is ideal for me). (Quiet except for the amazing music in the shop!) Noemi continued being patient and thorough with me while explaining the aftercare procedures I would need to do. I bought their care kit to make things easy on myself. After following the instructions and not picking(!), there was absolutely no fading or issues 3 weeks later. (My camera technique isn't as fancy as the day 1 pic I got at the shop, but it shows the gorgeous colour and detail.) I absolutely recommend Watermelon Tattoo. I wasn't planning on getting more than one, but now I want to.

Had a fantastic experience at watermelon tattoo! Went as a group of three each getting a small tattoo from guest artist Lady Mermaid (which all turned out amazing - thank you!). Of the three of us, one was getting her first tattoo and she was made to feel relaxed and comfortable for the whole experience. Sandie even gave a her a cute certificate to celebrate her first tattoo! The shop was clean and beautifully decorated, the staff were friendly and welcoming (particularly Sandie who we were chatting to in between tattoos), and we had a lovely time. I've had two tattoos now from Noemi at Watermelon Tattoo and strongly recommend it if you're looking for a tattoo in Edinburgh. This tattoo was a large color floral piece which Noemi designed from several reference photos. It's lovely. Noemi also worked around an existing tattoo (done by a different artist) in that area and touched it up so that it really shined with the new tattoo. Aftercare instructions were really good and it's healing well.

Such an amazing studio with really wonderful people. I got my tattoo done by Liz who was the absolute best. She was so kind and wonderful to talk to and was very understanding when I started to curse at the pain after being tattooed for 5 hours (I hope it didn't distract Liz too much!). Noemi and Sandie are so lovely and welcoming and it was a pleasure speaking to them. It takes the edge off especially if you're nervous about getting tattooed!! The tattoo looks amazing and I'm obsessed with it and definitely want to get another tattoo from Liz. I got my first tattoo here last year, got my second one here and I am absolutely going to get another here in the future. The studio is very clean, has excellent covid measures, everyone is so professional and welcoming, they answer any questions you have and I love that their aftercare bag comes with gummies that taste amazing. It's one of my favourite places in Edinburgh. I really love coming here to get tattooed and couldn't recommend it enough!!! I would give more than 5 stars but sadly Google doesn't have that option!! I had my tattoo done 3 days ago by the lovely Jolanda (a guest artist) and I absolutely adore it! I was welcomed by a very friendly Noemi and felt at ease from the very beginning. Jolanda took the time to explain to me very patiently all the steps and, after the tattoo, she applied a "second skin" film, which made the first days of after care very easy to manage. Sandie and Noemi are good fun together and the family-business vibe made the whole experience very relaxed. I even spotted a cheeky wee kid looking at me from his hideout! :P The studio itself is very pretty, colourful and clean. I definitely recommend it and can't wait to be back!

Where to begin! ONE WORD FABULOUS. This whole experience was amazing, after having to reschedule due to the last lockdown this managed to fit in nicely as an early birthday treat! From the moment I walked in (late and flustered feeling rather embarrassed) I was greeted and made to feel so welcome and relaxed. The shop is beautiful and so inviting. Very clean with excellent COVID measures. Sandi is a star and was genuinely interested in getting to know me which made me feel so valued! His sporadic singing from reception was also a god save during some of the more painful bits! Noemi was just amazing, friendly very considerate and so funny! We ended up having so much in common and I honestly can say I will never let anyone else tattoo me! She’s just too good! I had a dramatic before and after lavender on my wrist and I couldn’t believe the outcome! Along with a new band of wild flowers on my ankle which so far has been my most painful tattoo but Noemi was great at checking in and distracting me when I needed it! I hope I wasn’t too wriggly! All together this experience was something I will treasure and after such a difficult year it has really helped me feel some sort of normality and fun! Can’t wait to get back and plan me next one thank you to you both!!

The experience at Watermelon Tattoo from the initial enquiry to getting the tattoo was professional, friendly and attentive. I’d had to postpone following an accident, then it was postponed due to Covid restrictions but Sandie ensured my appointment was back in as soon as it could be. Noemi is an insanely talented artist. I am so happy with my tattoo — it's better than I could ever have imagined! She sketched it out beautifully and explained the whole process; from sizing and which size would produce the best, most detailed and intricate results, to which colours she would use. The team (including their best dog friend) are super chill and friendly, their interior design is awesome and the tunes are great. If you're thinking about visiting, do it. You won't regret it.

Liz made the most amazing design for me using just two reference pictures and gave me advice on side and placement and made sure I was 100% happy with it. I was in for a full day and everyone was really lovely, Liz explained everything she was doing and made the whole experience a really good day. I had such a laugh there. My tattoo is incredible! My fiancé gave me a gift certificate for a tattoo at Watermelon as a Christmas present but, because of the pandemic, I had to wait two years to get tattooed by Noemi. The wait was totally worth it. From initial contact with Sandie through the enquiry form, to Noemi following up on the form asking me how I envisioned the tattoo whilst giving her professional input, I knew my tattoo and my person would be well taken care of. Upon arriving at the studio I felt I was in the hands a very helpful, understanding, and professional people (and there was a lovely wee dug at reception!) with a great business. Noemi made sure that I was satisfied with the position of the tattoo and the colouring, she did her job so skillfully, everything was swift and hygienic, and she was very patient with me squirming a bit with pain (the tattoo I got was on the shoulder and chest region). Their aftercare products are amazing and both Sandie and Noemi were there to answer all my questions. I have gotten tattooed in two different countres besides Scotland and the overall experience at Watermelon has been the best so far. 10s across the board!

I got the one meaning Protected and the one meaning Safe below it. Noemi, Alice and Enrique were all super lovely. Alice in reception was super lovely and welcoming, Enrique was also really lovely and friendly and happy to help with his input and Noemi was super lovely, professional, gentle and really quick as always. So I booked my tattoo in January 2020 for June the same year. Due to COVID restrictions, the passing of my cat, and the tier restrictions the tattoo was pushed back again and again. Each time the team were so friendly and understanding when I called asking about whether I was allowed travel to Edinburgh this time. They even held my deposit the whole time, even though there were a couple of times when I called expecting to lose my deposit. When the day finally came, everyone was friendly, professional and patient with me, ensuring I was comfortable and letting me take a break when I needed it. The tattoo is beautiful, and the aftercare advice I was given was AMAZING. No scabbing!!! One of the best tattoo healing experiences I’ve ever had. It’s not fully done healing yet I don’t think, but definitely through the initial healing period and it’s looking great. Thank you Noemi, Sandie and Alice!!! My experience with Watermelon Tattoo was nothing short of incredible from start to finish. All the staff were so lovely and welcoming. I’d booked in specifically with Enrique, and provided a design that I would like as a cover up to a previous tattoo. Enrique did his own interpretation of the design which I loved. I was worried I would need a much larger tattoo as it was a cover up, but Enrique designed it in such a way that meant it was as small as I wanted ideally. He was so professional and everything had to be absolutely perfect to the millimetre - even when I said ach it’s fine, he wasn’t happy till it was perfect. Throughout the actual tattooing he frequently checked in to make sure I was ok and it wasn’t too sore (which it wasn’t). The information about aftercare was great, and Enrique responded really quickly to reassure me when I had a question about the second skin. Overall, loved it, and I would not hesitate about going back or referring Watermelon Tattoo to a friend. Thanks guys xx

I really appreciated being shown all the equipment being taken out of the packaging prior to the tattoo, reiterating how clean and professional the studio is. The tattoos themselves were the least painful tattoos I’ve had and were finished much quicker than I expected. So clean and crisp and better than I ever imagined. Both Sandie and Noemi were so helpful and responsive before getting my tattoo and have been incredibly informative about post-tattoo care. Everything in the studio was so clean and COVID safe, I felt totally comfortable the entire time. Noemi's design was beautiful, and she was extremely meticulous about all the details (especially regarding all of the colours). Noemi works with great care but very quickly so I barely felt a thing. I am obsessed with the finished result and would recommend this studio to everyone. I can't wait to return!

I’ve had my first tattoo at Watermelon with Noemi today. It was a pleasant experience: since the first consultation they were lovely and friendly. Noemi was always nice in explaining to me in detail how the tattoo would come and she immediately understood my idea of it. I appreciated that she wanted to meet me again a few days before today to talk again about the tattoo. I admit that this morning I was a bit anxious but Noemi was kind in letting me try the different part of the body to do it without putting pressure on me. From the moment I emailed the studio to book my tattoo appointment until I stepped inside the shop to have my tattoo done, I never felt intimidated, as everyone was extremely friendly, prompt, helpful and polite. Have been meaning to write this for ages! I got a tattoo a few months back with a friend from one of the guest artists at Watermelon and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and all of our questions were answered in person and over email. Our artist was lovely and really listened to what we wanted, making sure we were 100% happy with the design. It was my friend's first tattoo and she felt entirely at ease. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to get a tattoo in Edinburgh.

Watermelon Tattoo truly is a wonderful studio, and I can't recommend it enough. Everyone there is super friendly, and made sure I felt comfortable, while I was a bit stressed for a relatively big piece. They even put a French playlist for me 😊. Noemi is a very skilled artist, fast and precise, and I could not be happier with my tattoo, which came out even better than what I imagined. It healed perfectly, and everyone I showed it to over the past two months was impressed by the quality of the tattoo, the details and the colours (even my mum! 😂). I will definitely go back for future projects.
