Had many piercings by fiona over the years, and she has been absolutely 10/10 every time! Without question the only person I go to, to get pierced. Makes sure to explain everything thoroughly and put you at ease, super friendly and chatty too! Shop is spotless inside. Would give more stars if possible! 🌟

Fiona pierced my nose yesterday, she was amazing! I felt very comfortable, she was very fast and it was nowhere near as sore as I had anticipated. I would recommend Fiona to anyone, she is clearly very experienced and good at what she does. Thank you Fiona for a lovely experience, fitting me in last minute and making me feel as ease.

Great place for a new piercing or tattoo. I can personally recommend Fiona and Pauline for piercings and Fiona for hand-poked tattoos. Beautiful new studio, clean, light and airy with gorgeous decor throughout. Very friendly staff. Recommended 10/10!

Had two tattoos here, my first by Fiona who was lovely and patient with me as well as very reassuring! The studio is really cool, everyone so friendly and it's in a great location. This was a spur of the moment booking and my friend and I did a GWYG. My second one was with Sara who again was really patient with me, answered my questions and put me at ease. She showed me the design and then was happy to resize it for me and made suggestions to enhance its placement. I'm glad she did this as it has ended up even better than expected. I very much enjoyed the begging pigeons outside and the atmosphere of the studio. Staff seem to genuinely like each other and their clients which is great! I was quite nervous never having had a tattoo before but wouldn't hesitate to recommend Black Abbey. All staff I met were really nice and friendly. Go here, bring your friends!

Would highly recommend visiting Black abbey for your tattoos and piercings. Brilliant location and easy to get to. The staff there are very professional and friendly. Getting stuff done can always be a nerve wracking experience but they put you at ease and the place has a relaxing atmosphere. They always check in to make sure you're doing OK throughout and you always get a giggle with them. All of the staff are extremely talented. The place is spotless and they have a high standard of cleanliness which is very reassuring during Rona times. The new shop is looking fantastic and the tour around it is an experience in itself, especially the waiting room upstairs. They also sell their own merchandise as well as supporting local businesses which is great.

I’ve been here for a lip piercing and nose piercing and the friendliest staff. More recently I lost the top of my new nose piercing, and Fiona came in on her day off and opened up the shop so that I could get a replacement as I was going up north. That is honestly the most caring and genuine customer service I’ve ever had. And I recommend Black Abbey for all their services, and remember to check out their wee displays for little shop bits

Honestly love coming here for my tattoos. The staff are incredibly talented and friendly. There is always a laugh to be had and how they handle their business is ideal. It's very clean and comfortable and I honestly can't recommend them enough. If I could give more stars I would.

Gorgeous wee studio in the middle of the city center, nearby parking, easy to find using google maps, and decent, easy to use parking right outside. Had a great experience once again with Fiona Thompson getting 3 piercings in one sitting. She came down to the bottom of the stairs to let me in when arriving. She was fantastic as usual, let me take my time, did the piercings laying me flat so there was less chance of myself passing out. She made me feel at ease and very comfortable, very clear explaining all of the steps we were taking. We had a pleasant talk which made me feel very at ease and she walked me back down the stairs too. It is on the first floor so not accessible to wheelchair users however was managable to myself with a cane. Stairs were flat, not uneven at all so clear to walk up. Very excited to go back as it was a great experience over all.

I've been tattooed by 2 of the artists here, both have made sure I was comfortable and happy the whole time. All the artists that work here are incredibly kind, respectful and talented people. The interior design of this place is something in itself, there has obviously been a huge amount of time and care taken to get this place look as good as it does. Worth the trip even just to see Ross' collection of memorabilia at his station and have a chat with the lovely people that work there. Can't recommend this place and the artists enough honestly

Fiona is by far one of the most knowledgeable professional body piercers ! You 100% get what you pay for! She spends more time consulting with you about your piercing, and anotmey, and suitability (or alternative placements which may work better) and steralises everything custom to each service. You receive a detailed aftercare plan, and recommendations of healing and downsizing times for jewellery. As a long time client(with a total of 50 something piercings over the years, I couldn't possibly trust anyone else! The studio is so clean, and welcoming- and nothing ever seems to be "too much" for the team! Excellent tattoo shop, clean and friendly with a great group of super talented, experienced artists. Beautiful inside with plenty of art on the walls to inspire you, and set conveniently near the city center. They also have a really cool little merch room with piercing jewelry, as well as handmade art and wearables from local artists. Check them out next time you are in the neighborhood!

Been twice now and to two of the artists (Ross and Sara) both exceptionally professional. I work in healthcare and can tell you that these guys know what they’re doing when it comes to cleanliness and keeping things sterile - open packets in front of you, change gloves when they need to, disinfect, disinfect, disinfect and keep hands clean. Went during COVID-19 and had absolutely no worries because there measures were outstanding. This is all before we even discuss the art. Have about 40 tattoos and these two tattoos absolutely pop off the skin! They’re brilliant. Furthermore, Ross and Sara too one through the process and I felt involved and they helped guide me if something I thought might not work (im not an artist so this is fair IMO) Overall 10/10 experience will go back atmosphere in the place is brilliant it’s like a haunted church kinda thing have to see to experience
