I have never been to this shop but I am a returning client for Kirsten who did my bear tattoo about 3(?) Years ago when she was in another shop in Edinburgh. I loved the vibe in her new shop and will hopefully return for a new tattoo soon! Today I got a touch up and it looks brand new again..very happy! You are in safe hands with these artists. Check them out! Easy parking close by on bath street and easily walkable from the centre of Glasgow.

I recently visited Kirsten at Nest of Thorns to get my first tattoos. I was so nervous in the lead up to it but now it’s all said and done, I can confidently say I would not consider going to see anyone else for a tattoo. Kirsten made me feel so comfortable and was incredibly professional, patient, kind and friendly throughout the whole process. She happily answered all of my questions in the lead up to the appointment and it was definitely worth the wait to get it done. I never thought I’d even get one tattoo but after this experience I’m already looking to get more! I can’t possibly speak any higher of her and the entire experience. Really great service, got a tattoo done by Kirsten and couldn’t be happier. Everything was so clean and sanitary. She was amazing in making it turn out exactly how I wanted and super accommodating even after I changed the size and placement quite a few times. Can’t recommend enough.

Tattooed by Pete, banging work and great environment. Tattoo was beautifully done, and Pete gave me a lot of input in the process, as well as talking through the process with me. Booking in was a breeze as the artist was super responsive and worked with me to figure out exactly what I was after. The actual studio is really pretty and also scrupulously clean and welcoming. I’m autistic, and this was taken into account; I was offered a variety of accommodations to make sure I was happy and comfortable, and the actual tattooing process was a delight. Aftercare advice was thorough and Pete was happy to answer all of my questions, as was the other artist who was working at the same time. Attached a wee photo of the tattoo I got; I get compliments on it constantly, and every time I look at it, I feel happy ♪

Absolutely fantastic studio. Only been tattooed by Pete and it blew me away finding out he was only an apprentice. Proves the skill and quality of this studio. You’ll feel super comfortable, everyone is chill and the music is fire. Can’t recommend best of thorns enough. Back to Pete, he’s super nice, always have a laugh and great chat when I go and he makes sure I feel as comfortable and relaxed as I can be. Also offers maoams sometimes 🤫.

Hands down one of the best tattoo studios I've been to. Very professional and extremely welcoming. Kirsten and Kyle do an amazing job at making you feel at ease the moment you walk through the door and while getting your tattoo. I've been getting tattooed by Kyle for a number of years and I couldn't recommend a better artist if your looking for Japanese/neo trad work, he's one of the best at what he does! Although I've not been tattooed by Kirsten myself, her work always looks amazing when I'm in the studio. I would highly recommend this studio, you won't be disappointed!

Recently had my 10th tattoo completed by Pete at Nest of thorns. His ideas and professionalism are better than Ive seen off of other tattoo artists who have been at it for decades. I could not recommend him enough. He was even able to cover up another tattoo I had done a year ago that I wasn’t happy with and turned it into my favourite one. Will be going back to him again soon to finish the rest of the sleeve. To add finally he is an absolute gentleman and lovely guy. Nest of thorns has pretty much everything for anyone, Kyle’s work is incredible, colour and detail is insane. Kirsten’s anime tattoos are probably the best I’ve seen.

I have used this business several times for 4 separate pieces, 4 anime ones from Kirsten that will eventually form an entire anime sleeve and an fox tattoo on my leg from Pete. Staff are always very quick to respond to messages and work with you to design the your ideal customised unique tat that you are happy with. While you are there you receive the artists full attention and the banter and chilled atmosphere of the shop helps pass the hours that you are on the table. Have been 110% satisfied every time and will continue to go back for more work as i can afford to. Very handy central location and competitive rates are a huge bonus as well.

Nest of thorns is a very professional, clean, private-tattoo studio in Glasgow. The whole team is super talented and welcoming, they all know exactly what they’re doing in their chosen tattoo specialisms. Kyle Shields has tattooed my leg sleeve to such a high standard, very few people and places specialise in Japanese traditional. I highly recommend the studio for all tattoo enquiries and projects, I especially recommend Kyle for Japanese neo-traditional tattoos.
