I have had 3 cover ups by Louis over the past few years (covering up the mistakes of my teen years) and recently finished a full sleeve and I honestly would not go to anyone else for my tattoos now. I originally found Louis after researching local tattoo artists for a cover up and when I went in to see him, he drew my tattoo and explained how he was going to cover my old one and by the time he had finished drawing it I was sold. He has such a talent and imagination for drawing that I always give him the smallest details of what I want and he takes them and turns them into such gorgeous tattoos- which I am grateful for as I have zero artistic ability- but he’s so talented you can just give him free reign and know its going to turn out perfect. Sometimes I’ve planned and switched to working on new tattoos before he’s finished the one we were working on yet despite my indecisive and impulsively changing mind he never gets frustrated and just always goes with what I want. Louis is also one of the nicest and friendliest people you could meet. He makes you feel so comfortable and at home in the studio. He always has lots of funny stories or tales to keep you entertained and you pretty much have free reign of his Netflix account and music selection whilst you are there so plenty to keep your mind off the tattoo- especially for a long sit. He’s incredibly kind yet serious about the art and your tattoo turning out perfectly- his artistic wisdom and honesty has seriously talked me out of some very precarious decisions over the years - again grateful. I am in love with all my tattoos and I recommend Louis to everyone that asks me about them. The main thing people say when they see them is “Wow look at all the details” because they are so detailed and intricately designed. I would highly recommend Louis to anyone wanting a tattoo that will turn out as a piece of art. Check out his work and if his style is your style you won’t be disappointed with the outcome. I had my first tattoo with Louis, and have more booked. The experience was really good from discussing ideas and talking about what I wanted to get to the final tattoo. He helped me bring my ideas to life and gave me great advice on how to look after my tattoos so they look good forever. After an extensive search for a tattoo artist using the means of social media I messaged Louis. His Instagram page showcased the various different types of art and the quality was amazing. Louis replied and we set up a consultation. 2 hours later Louis and I came up with many different ideas and 3 years later I have had many sittings with him. I wouldn’t use any other tattoo artist, the quality he has produced in every tattoo represents his passion for his profession. One of Louis key qualities is his creativity - this is something I lack and he has an abundance of it. His imagination has helped create several masterpieces for me. Another key quality I was looking for when selecting a tattoo artist was communication. Louis people skills are excellent. He will give me his honest feedback about any ideas I have and likewise he accepts constructive feedback from me. We have developed a good working relationship - he is very serious when it comes to delivering the best results but he also likes to have a laugh. He is a knowledgable guy, I always come away learning something new. He also provides entertainment in the form of TV/music to help distract you from the pain. I would recommend Louis Santos to anyone who is looking for a tattoo artist.

I have been an admirer of Louis's tattoos and artwork for about ten years, but could never quite decide exactly what I wanted him to tattoo on me as I had so many ideas. Therefore, I have been in regular contact with Louis over the past ten years, even without ever meeting him and having him work on me, but he was always more than happy to discuss tattoo ideas and just generally offer advice and pointers - his kindness and plethora of advice definitely helped me in deciding what my next tattoo design was to be, and certainly made my mind up that Louis was the guy for my next tattoo. However, after making my initial appoinment, COVID struck. After a long period of waiting, I finally got to the studio approximately two years ago, and we have been working on my full sleeve and chest piece ever since. Louis is one of the kindest and funniest gentlemen I have ever met, and is certianly the most knowledgeable, talented yet modest tattoo artists I have ever come across. I have easily spent over 40 hours in the chair with him and every second has been money very well spent. I am ridiculously happy with the work that Louis has produced and will certainly be returning for my next tattoo...and the next, etc etc. Louis is a great guy, with an awesome sense of humour, which makes spending so much time in the chair a pleasure. He will talk to you when you want to chat, and shut up when you need to grit your teeth and get through the pain - if you really want to hear him talk - ask him about life after death, his life in Brazil before moving to the U.K or meditation. His studio is in a great location, as well as being well-equipped with TV's, consoles and music equipment, as well as lollipops and sweets to keep the blood sugar levels up, and the cleanliness is of the highest standard. I seriously cannot recommend Louis enough if his style of tattoo is what you are looking for, you really will not be disappointed. Thanks Louis.

I am Jennifer, a Chinese student from the university of Leeds doing TESOL Studies (Teaching English as a Second Language) and I had an excellent experience with Louis. I studied art when I was a kid and I thought I would know a thing or two about tattoo designs but my immature experience is nothing compared to a professional tattoo artist's who has 14 years' of experience. Louis is really patient. I changed my ideas like every five minutes at first but he put up with me and talked with me about my two big cover-ups designs without any complaint. He later helped to retouch my other small tattoos as well. Additionally, Louis is extremely passionate about his work. He paints and draws almost everyday and he eats really healthily to do his best at work. Only after getting to know him, did I realize the important of having a well-balanced diet when it comes to jobs that require high level of concentration. He even taught me how to meditate! Louis also likes to buy state-of-art tattoo machines. He always talks about the new version he has bought for shading or other things that I do not really know about. Louis likes to build personal connection with the tattoos he does. He told me once that in order to be inspired for a Harry Porter themed tattoo, he bought all the movies. He also made a video for one of his clients about the progress they made every session, which is so sweet. Even though Louis can come off as quite serious when it comes to work-- giving a very intimidating vibe at first, he is actually a really warm and nice person. He is that kind of guy you can talk about anything and everything with. Furthermore, every time I complain that it hurts when I get tattooed, he apologizes which is quite shocking to me because it is part of the process. Luckily he has a numbing spry which can be a real game-changer. When he first told me his clients bring gifts to the studio, I did not really get it. But when my tattoos finished, I gave him and Joe, a tattooist Louis has been working with for seven years gifts wholeheartedly. Louis taught me a lot about the tattoo business. Patience is everything. Every artist has a different style and we need to do some proper research about who we want to be tattooed. If we just find some random people to have a small tattoo, that one will most likely be covered up later. It is quite serious if that piece of art is going to be on our body for the rest of our life. So it is essential to be patient while waiting for a booking and be patient if our tattoo cannot be done in one session. Like a quote from Toy Story -- "You cannot rush art." However, I am still working on the patience thing. All in all, I have learned a lot from Louis, not only about the tattoos but how to be a nice, gentle, polite person and be positive about life and work. It is definitely a plus for my one year experience in the UK. Thank you, Louis. I will prepare for my flight fees next time I want a new tattoo! :)

He really cares about the clients needs and his love for art, with addition to his creativity. mean he is one of the best in the business. Just finished a half sleeve on the bottom part of my arm and it has turned out a lot better then I could have ever dreamed of, really impressed with it. There's a relaxed atmosphere in the studio too, and Louis is always making sure you are comfortable providing you with drinks and sweets (which is always well appreciated). Wow! After searching many tattooists in and around Leeds I always found myself coming back to this one. After looking at his artwork and portfolio I was happy enough to book a consultation. One of the most down to earth, hard working guys I’ve ever come across. Louis’ drive and love of his art make every visit to the studio an experience to remember. I’ve been visiting for work since august 2018 and have left more than happy with each piece of work as I’ve been with the whole experience. The studio itself shows off Louis’ passion for art as the walls are pasted with his own drawings and paintings. Even having been sat for 6, 7, even 8 hour sessions, the comfortable setting, easy going conversation combined with Louis’ infectious laugh keeps spirits high. I got my first tattoo (half sleeve including shoulder & some forearm) from Louis over the course of 6 full day sessions. I had discussions with other artists before deciding who to go with. Initially I just dropped in for a free consultation where we discussed my ideas and what would be best. He was the most receptive and enthusiastic in doing some original artwork for me. Off the back of this I booked in for my first session and we started designing my tattoo. My tattoo consists of five unique pieces. I provided images for Louis to go off, along with our ongoing discussions. Two of these he drew and designed in advance with the others being mainly freehand on the day. The separate pieces overlap and it looks like one flowing tattoo - these are a bird of prey, wolf, Dr bird (hummingbird), dreamcatcher with the design of a Yorkshire rose and feathers coming off it & a classic rose. I also have some colour throughout which all blends together. I would definitely recommend him to anyone whether it is a first tattoo or anything else. If (/when) I get any future tattoos I will definitely be going back to Louis. It was a personal and professional service, as well as being unique & tailored to me rather than just doing a standard stencil which multiple people may have had before. The atmosphere is relaxed and he always let me choose if I wanted any specific music. He also has a big TV and Netflix (+other stuff) so I could watch whatever I wanted to distract myself. Also offered tea / coffee and water and I always felt comfortable during the entire process. If anyone is looking for a tattoo my best advice would be go and speak to Louis!!

First went to Louis 5 years ago after having pieces done by other 'artists' and immediately recognised a guy who lives for his craft and wouldn't settle for any client walking away with a mediocre tattoo. Louis is a true artist. If he's not tattooing then he's drawing instead (I've even walked past his studio at midnight and seen the light on!) and all the practice has clearly paid off as it shows in his work which is always amazing. Give him an idea of what you'd like to achieve and let him run with it, you won't be disappointed. I did a lot of research, before having my first tattoo, and decided to go with Louis Santos Tattoo, due to the strength of his work on his website. I opted for a tattoo on my upper of arm, showing a Gibson guitar as the main piece, surrounded by roses. I spoke to Louis about putting an EYE in the guitar, to give the tattoo, a bit more life, I have had the work done, and I am absolutely delighted with the end result. However, there was no reason to be, as Louis is a great guy and has a very calming and relaxing manner. We initially discussed my ideas together and he then put them into a fantastic design. In short "awesome" I was recommended to Louis by a friend of mine and it was a great recommendation. This was my first tattoo and from start to finish it was a super experience. We had a consultation first (to discuss the design I already had) and then after placing a small deposit I was booked in. Tattoo day came and 5hrs in the chair really didnt seem like 5hrs at all. Louis is great to chat with and the seat is in front of a tv screen... Win win! He made the whole process super chilled and calm (just what I needed with it being my first tattoo) - His skills are second to non.
