I used to get my piercings done here years ago and always had great results so when I decided I wanted to have my industrial done I thought there would be no better place to go. Staff are friendly enough and the place seemed spotlessly clean but I was surprised when I was told that they would only pierce my industrial with 2 separate small bars rather than 1 long bar which is what I wanted. They explained that they do it with 2 bars because it heals better but I wasn't sure so I left and did some research and discovered that using 2 bars causes industrial piercings to heal at different angles therefore making it very difficult to put one long bar in after healing. I also phoned 3 other reputable piercing shops and they all said that it should never be done with 2 bars as did the piercing shop right next to Cold Steel which is where I eventually had my piercing done. Such a shame as I have always loved coming here.

Cannot recommend this spot enough, of all the places to go in Camden this is the best choice - trust me. I’ve been coming here since I was 18/19 and have gotten 8-9 piercings from here in total. Every single one has been expertly done, well placed and the guys here are so knowledgeable, honest and great - they really put you at ease. Special shout out to Arthur!

I usually never leave reviews but I definitely have to. I got my navel (belly button) piercing today by Eleonora (yes we have the same name 😂) and she was the sweetest. I have a fear of needles and she made me feel super comfortable by making conversation to distract me. The piercing was super quick and painless and she made sure to explain the after care process carefully. Definitely will come here again if I decide to get another piercing done

i have been pierced here twice now. i had my septum repierced a few years ago and had both my nostrils pierced here on monday (4th oct 21). ellie is a lovely person, they made me feel very relaxed and it was the best experience ive had with body modification, ever😌 they spent a long time making sure the position of my piercings was even, checking they looked good from various angles and when i smiled etc. a truly great experience, i cant recommend this place enough😄

My housemate and I wanted to get a new piercing in a desperate attempt to spice up 2020. We picked cold steel as it has such great reviews, but we didn't book as it was a Thursday morning. Thankfully our walk-in was fine and we both got pierced by the lovely Elle! My housemate got his first ever piercing with a cool lobe bar and he said the experience was great. I have a fair few piercings, and had a vague idea about getting an extra lobe or maybe a helix, but was dissuaded from doing so for spacing and aesthetic reasons. I am glad I listened to Elle, who suggested a Daith piercing, as it is BEAUTIFUL and compliments the rest of my piercings nicely. She was The Best: amazing knowledgeable and skillful and the piercing was incredibly fast and painless. Overall, 10/10.

Lovely experience at Cold Steel! Got my first ever helix piercing with Julie a week ago. Amazing knowledgeable professionals, everything’s explained in detail. Judging by the unique hair colour I have, she did remind me about some infection or irritation that might occur when using hair dyes, so that was good to know. In short, it was a smooth, calm, pain free experience! Highly, highly recommend! It can be a bit difficult to find the entrance to the shop... but you’ll definitely not miss the building.

I never go anywhere else for piercings. I think I’ve now had nine done here, including my septum. All have healed beautifully (even those fixing botched piercings from other salons, which can be harder to heal). The staff, including those who work reception, are extremely knowledgable and helpful. Do make sure you book in advance of planning to visit on a weekend or bank holiday as they can get really busy. But during quieter times, walk-ins can be possible.

Yesterday I came to Cold Steel to get a nipple piercing and I was very scared of the experience and how it's gonna go. Ellie was absolutely amazing though, it was so quick and almost painless, she was very professional and explained everything I wanted to know. She's absolutely lovely and this really made a difference as I was able to relax. The whole team is great, everything is clean and with covid safety measures in place. For such a well established place I would have thought they would use jewellery that won’t fall out when doing you a piercing. Kind of seems like they want you to come back to buy more jewellery. Not really cool esp when the cost is already expensive. Also they should advise you what size your jewellery is as well for future reference as it’s difficult to know afterward. Great experience getting pierced here. Really liked the staff, they seemed really experienced and knowledgeable and were able to talk me through the issues of piercing through scar tissue. My piercer was fantastic, he pierced my bellybutton beautifully, really nicely aligned, nice depth, and without doubt the least painful piercing I've ever had! FYI they only take cash so I had to pop over the road into the Chinese to get cash out, but it's really close. Will definitely come back here for future piercings.

I can't recommend Cold Steel enough if you were looking for any piercing work. I had my piercing done by Jules, a simple lobe piercing, but Jules made me feel very comfortable and relaxed as we chatted away whilst she was doing the piercing. The store and piercing area are very clean, with excellent hygiene practices, and the staff working there are super friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help with any piercing related query. Prices are incredibly fair for the level of service your received - my lobe was £20 and my friend's conch+inner piercing was £56 for the both. Highly recommended! Please note! There are stairs leading up to both the store and piercing room so customers with low mobility may have some issues.

I was reluctant to get my piercing done here at first, but it was highly recomended by most of my friends and people i had talked to beforehand. We went to ask about prices and they were very reasonable(£25 if I remember correctly) and included the stud. I walked out impressed in every aspect. The staff were very knowledgeable, and as we were waiting for our turns to get pierced, we heard people come in with questions that the kind guy behind the desk would answer right away. Arthur(the guy who pierced us) was very friendly and walked us through the whole process. It's been about a month since I got pierced and I've had no pain and no issues with healing. I went in today for a nose piercing and I felt instantly welcomed. Everything was explained and I had to fill in a quick form and paid. Just bare in mind that they only accept cash. Having the piercing done was quick and simple and a small dot was drawn and I was asked to look in the mirror to see if I agreed. I laid down and as quick as anything it was over! I've been told to come back in a month for a quick check up on the piercing. I'm extremely happy with my piercing and might even get another when I go back in for the check up!

Have gotten 4 piercings here over the past couple years. I love this place; really quick and easy process, ridiculously cheap, never had a problem with the jewellery, gives you good aftercare advice on paper without you needing to ask. It is cash only, so make sure you take cash with you. They are honest and won’t just give you anything to sell you the service and product, and are so relaxed that it’s kind of infective. Feel really grateful that they encouraged me to keep my nose-ring in when I had doubts; I love it to bits.

I'd only ever had my lobes pierced so was quite nervous to get a double forward helix piercing; but the employees were extremely considerate and friendly. They insisted on ID which is a great thing as they truly care about the welfare of customers. I was also given advice on how to take care of my piercings which was extremely kind and helpful. Went in for a septum piercing today (didn't have to make an appointment, simply showed up and was told I could come back to have it done 30 minutes later), and the experience was fantastic! All the staff was lovely and great to talk to, and the lady who did my piercing was wonderful at her job (and took great care to make sure my deviated septum wouldn't make it look crooked). They all seemed to have extensive knowledge on piercings and answered my questions easily, and the piercing itself was about a 2/10 on the pain scale - easy breezy! On top of this, the price was considerably low for London (£25 for the septum piercing). Would definitely recommend going here for a piercing if you get the chance!

I went to Cold Steel a few weeks ago for a helix piercing and, as someone who has not been pierced since my lobes were done as a 10 year old, my experience there was everything I needed it to be. I was quite nervous going in, but the blonde lady at the reception was SO lovely, genuine, professional and approachable right from the off, it calmed my nerves. I had to fill in a quick form and was able to ask them lots of questions. The answers I recieved were very thorough and I was really put at ease. Both her and Arthur (who pierced me) were super generous with their time and it just felt like they wanted to make the experience the best and most comfortable it could be for me. The piercing itself was very quick. I was mostly afraid of the pain, but it was just a sharp little pinch (I've stubbed my toe and had it hurt FAR more). I felt throughout the entire process that I was in really safe hands. Arthur was super friendly, chatted to me, made sure I was really happy with the positioning of the piercing, was kind about my nervousness, got me to breathe and gave me warning when it was going in. He offered me water afterwards, gave me advice on aftercare and answered some more of my questions (without up-selling at all, even though they carry their own cleaning solution, which I really appreciated), and told me I could come in any time to get it checked over if I was worried it wasn't healing right. A month in, it's healing incredibly well, and I'm so happy with the experience I had. I'm never going to get pierced anywhere besides Cold Steel now. They are ridiculously professional, kind and knowledgeable about their craft, and they deeply deserve their renown. I would 110% recommend getting pierced there (especially by Arthur if it's your first time or you're nervous). His customer service is bar none!

My friend and I came to Cold Steel after planning to get ear piercings and being in the area. The guys there are super friendly and professional, and the whole experience was enjoyable. I got a forward helix piercing, my friend got a lobe piercing and both of us were really happy. I’ve had several piercings of an intimate nature done here, and have also bought jewellery here a few times. Julie is absolutely fantastic, she always puts me at ease and is always so friendly and professional. I’ve also had my septum pierced by Arthur, and a scaffold by Coz, both of whom were also brilliant at just setting me at ease and explaining everything I could expect during the healing process. It’s definitely the best place I’ve ever had piercings at, and it’s my first choice for new ones. They’re always very up-front and honest about what to expect, and how to care for the new piercing afterwards. You can always pop in for follow up checks if you want as well, and with certain piercings, like a scaffold, the price includes a longer bar if you want to come back once it’s healed. They also have a nice selection of jewellery available. Be aware that they’re a cash-only business though; there’s a free ATM at one of the tourist shops downstairs.

Loved these guys, would definitely go here again, i recently had my Conch and Rook pierced here on the same day, the price was very reasonable, and the staff were so so so friendly and funny and also chatty, even though i wasn't nervous, my piercer Julie still put me at ease even during the time she was putting the need through my ear. They were pretty quick and it was clear the staff had a strong bond, very hygienic, they were concerned about your health and if it was safe to pierce you (whether you've eaten, drank alcohol etc) they clearly love what they do. Author was amazing! Been pierced in many shops and this is the shop I was made feel most relaxed, welcomed and most importantly hygienic. They even have a sterilization room! Got my lip pierced and the caution with the placement was truly appreciated and accurate - been pierced many times in inaccurate placing.. :( My lip is only pierced a few hours and already feels so comfortable and 0 pain. I came here in 2007 for a piercing from Julie. I had no hesitation in coming back in 2017 for additional piercings and delighted Julie was still there. All the staff are fantastic and very very knowledgable. Hygience and cleanliness is second to none. I did have an issue with healing (my fault entirely), and I went back to see them and they were really helpful and made sure I understood how to look after my piercings in future. They actively encourage you to pop in if you are having any issues or even just need a quick check. Even though I live 40 miles from Cold Steel - this is the only place I would think to come for any more work.

Went here to get my seconds done on both earlobes spontaneously. The second I walked in I felt comfortable and appreciated. When the time came to get pierced I was quite nervous but my piercer made me feel at ease by chatting to me the whole time. My piercer really cared about making sure the placement was perfect. After I got pierced I felt quite faint (not good with needles) and my piercer sat with me the entire time until he was sure I was feeling better; at no point did I feel like I was being rushed even after the piercing was complete. This is true "Camden" the best piercing shop in London. There are steep stairs up to the store located on the first floor so it's not a disabled friendly shop for access reasons. Staff are always extremely helpful and willing to help. Reasonably priced The store has a good buzz about it. Ideal for tattoos and body piercing. Very clean too.

Can't rate this place highly enough :). I didn't feel ignored when I walked in (which I feel is the main concern when going into any shop in London) and was seen to quickly. The guy doing the piercing was friendly and didn't make me feel less valued as a customer even though I was just getting a very basic piercing. The hygiene was also very good and the same as if you were at a hospital. All in all I'd recommend this place to anyone.

One of the most knowledgeable and experienced studios in London. They are quite traditional and, understandably, don't really like a massive group of you and your mates going in for one piercing. I never leave reviews because I’m so lazy, but me and my friend had our helix pierced here today and they were so fantastic. The guy on the desk first asked for I.D etc, then we filled out forms and he explained some aftercare. We then went up stairs to a different room with a separate guy, and he was nice and made us feel at ease, he talked us all the way through it and made me breathe in and out and it makes such a huge difference to the pain, and to be honest... it was all over in less than a minute! I was amazed how fast it was! From the needle going through, to the piercing going in.. it was so quick and the most painless piercing I’ve ever had! Do not be intimidated by the shop front (which I was for a long time), upstairs is clean and spacious and everyone is super friendly and professional, definitely feels a lot more welcoming than the other places I had been in in Camden. They seemed very experienced and knowledgable, I listened in on them helping a girl who'd gone to see a not-so-great piercer, they were very blunt but efficient about giving her the right information and a new regime. My piercing was done by a woman (I didn't catch any names) and she was lovely, very chatty, she talked both my friend and I through everything she was doing and it was really quick with minimal pain, which is all you could ask for. Reasonably priced (tragus and helix were £24 each), as one of the guys said, you're paying for: high grade jewellery, a clean environment and an experienced piercer with professional equipment. I'm going back in a month for my check up and will probably get another piercing, they also said they'd help recommend an artist for my tattoo, which is really sweet of them and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience.

The lady was really nice who did my piercing for me, she was friendly and professional and made me feel comfortable. she explained everything about the procedure before, what to expect etc, and after i was given after care information (i have been other places before which have given nothing and have had to refer to the internet) about how to properly care for it to avoid infections, even info about what clothes to wear for the next couple of days to avoid irritation. One thing hurt and that was because of the shape of my nose, I needed a circular barbell rather than one of the retainer-type ones so that it wouldn't look wonky, so Julie offered to change the jewellery if I wanted her to, and that only hurt because the barbell was externally threaded. Julie had warned me that this was the case and that was fine, just stung a little to change the jewellery. Hoping to go back to get a few ear piercings done soon! :) Would definitely recommend it :)

Arthur who pierced my ears was amazing 5/5. However, the guy at the front is a liar. I came in to get my helix pierced, (I am 22) and he was so assertive about me needing ID. I have multiple piercings but he was not up for a debate, he told me this is a procedure they follow with everyone. I was disappointed but booked in for the following day as I understand protocol. The problem was.. WHEN I went in the next day, two girls came in while I was waiting and said they were 21 and he made the payments and they got their ears done. I was utterly confused, that’s when I felt violated. He made me go home the day before and lied to my face and the next day two girls younger than me were seen to straight away? I wasted time, travel money and effort to get there.

I've been to Cold Steel twice - both times to get some jewellery changed. When I first visited, my tragus piercing was reacting to a too-small CBR. The main guy there was really helpful, changed out the old ring and inserted a new barbell in with no pain, and lots of helpful advice. The second time, I was just looking for a replacement barbell, and he showed me how to insert the new jewellery, and was again very welcoming and professional. Having preivously had my septum and tragus pierced by Julie at Cold Steel in the last 3 years and having a FANTASTIC experience both times I went back last week in the hope to have the same experience! I booked an appointment in advance to get my double nostrils pierced and went with my boyfriend for the last appointment of the evening (they are open 7 days a week 11-7 i think). I was lucky enough to have Julie yet again and I have to say it was absolutely great. She spent at least 15-20 minutes lining the piercings up which I really appreciated as I was TERRIFIED of them coming out uneven. The piercings were straightforward and she was great at putting me at ease. They are very sanitary and they change gloves often. They are strict on their ID policy so remember to bring ID no matter how 'over 16' you look. ( I'm 20 and I was STILL ID'd) Definately go there again. The best place for piercings in London by far!

When I first went to Cold Steel in 1999 to be pierced, I learned some fundamental home truths about piercing; mostly, that I knew sweet sod all about it, really. I learned in the first 10 minutes that the piercing places I'd seen and heard of in the past, may as well have been run by regular members of the public with no prior experience of piercing at all. I have 14 piercings, all done by Julie and Coz, and not a SINGLE one has ever seen a problem. Where to even start with Cold Steel's impeccable operation? They're not a jewellers, they're PIERCERS - these guys specialise in sterile, perfectly-placed, well-informed, professional piercing. If you want that tiny little crystal stud the first time, go somewhere else. Cold Steel will pierce you with the right size/length/gauge bar, ring etc for the placement, for minimum irritation and for the best possible healing experience. Don't consume any drugs or alcohol before coming in. Bring your ID if you are blessed with a young face, otherwise no can do. Change it to the cute jewellery AFTER it's healed. Don't use chemicals to clean it - salt water in the perfect measurements described twice a day. Stop touching it. Come back in a month so they can have a look at it. Any other problems or concerns, call or go in to see them. These guys are the cream of the cream of the cream...and if you ever have an issue with a piercing, the chances are your aftercare is not watertight. They do the first bit....the rest is up to you. I LOVE everything they stand for, and will never go anywhere else as long as I live. For me, they are THE piercers. You wont be sorry if you go there to be pierced, and actually....their operation will make you see how many monkeys there are out there. Its a rude awakening, trust me! VIVA COLD STEEL!x

Absolutely amazing! I had gotten a nipple piercing done at a terrible place down the street (ASK tattoo and piercing) and then stumbled upon Cold Steel. Something didn't feel right about the other place as they were terribly unprofessional and did not let me back out of the piercing because I was uncomfortable. I went in and asked the shop owner to look at it and he was appalled by the length of the barbell they put in. He told me to go back to the other place and demand they change the bar out for me and if they refused to come back and he'd do it for me. After the other place laughed in my face I went back to Cold Steel. He changed the bar for me and wouldn't even accept money as a thank you. I was also instructed to come back in a few weeks so he could keep checking on it. I cannot thank Cold Steel enough!!
