Had a walk-in with Sandy here today, was greeted very warmly and offered a brew while I waited. Sandy’s an absolute star and a joy to be around, she made my experience here as comfortable and pleasant as possible, even with my Tourette’s. I was also lucky enough to receive a biscuit and some lollipops after! And of course the flower she did for me is absolutely stunning. 10/10 experience, would definitely recommend to a friend.

Absolutely fantastic. I got my first tattoo from Mr Ronson and he made the whole experience welcoming, friendly, smooth and most of all fun. The entire shop is clean, well laid out, warm and simply beautiful if you're into tattoo art and Americana. Though Mr Ronson was the only one in the shop on the day of my appointment I can guarantee every other member of the collective is just as welcoming and courteous - he even asked my music preference and put some on for me that suited my taste. Overall a definite 10/10.

Absolutely brilliant studio with equally brilliant artists and staff - especially Mr Ronson. Got my first and 3 more tattoos from this top gentleman. No issues whatsoever and a brilliant service - all healed perfectly - couldn’t recommend enough to a first timer or a veteran.

Had three tattoos from Daniel Morris here (including my first) he's very talented and a nice guy, the shop is friendly and in a nice area, a friend of mine got a very sentimental tattoo (her first and only) from Hannah and although it's not the usual kind of tattoo they do she was very kind and gentle with her. Couldn't recommend it enough, a chill group of people with great attitudes and even better art.

Recently got an anchor done, I couldn't be happier with it! Love the use of skin and traditional colours. Everyone leaving with their new tattoos were extremely pleased, would recommend to anyone who is planning to get tattoo work done.

Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and got tattooed by Matt. Lovely bloke and extremely talented, followed him for a while on instagram so was mega keen to have something done by him. There is also a number of other talented artists at Rain City, Josh I know from when he worked in Chester and have had a few done by him. While getting tattooed I was looking round the shop at other artists work and there is a great collective here. All with their own styles so it's suitable for everyones needs.

Could not recommend Gre and the team more. Fantastic job and such a sound group of people. Mixed up my appointment time on one of my sessions and turned up an hour late for a Saturday session, instead of deducting my refund, he touched up previous work from the last session and rebooked my deposit in for the future. Really pleased with my sleeve, after having a couple of other artists from different shops, it was refreshing to have some one genuinely interested in making it look the best it can be and making the various pieces work well together. Highly recommend!

Artist double booked my appointment time and I was unable to get a tattoo done. They were very polite about it and apologized. I was only in Manchester for the weekend So I couldn't reschedule anything. I understand that people messaging over private IG accounts for appointments and not giving deposits may be flaky customers. But please ask for deposits if you need that assurance that they are not wasting your valuable time. I greatly admire all of the artist's work here and hope to book something in the future.

**update** Spoke to Gre Hale from the shop, he managed to get me my deposit back, seems like a good guy, there are 7 other tattooist so don't hold this review against all of them ** Could be a great place to get a tattoo, but I'll never find out as I can't handle how unprofessional the tattooist I dealt with was. I booked a tattoo with Matt Cooley, and asked for the design to be shown to me a few weeks before I got the tattoo so that I could make sure the design was right for me, he said that was fine. He forgot all about this, I told him I want to rearrange the appointment because of this and we agreed on a date a few weeks later on the 23rd, he forgot about sending the design over yet again, so I asked to reschedule again, this time for the 9th April, he suggested a time and then never replied to my email. 9th April comes and he has completely forgotten I'm even having a tattoo, I asked for my deposit back and he agreed he would send it over. It's been 2 months now and no sign of the deposit, I've messaged Matt and the shop multiple times and it looks like they are just keeping my money. He claims he has sent the money, but he has not and I've offered to send over bank statements to prove this, but he's happy to just ignore me and keep my deposit. As I understand it the shop is basically a few freelance tattooist's working under one umbrella, so if you get a tattoo from one of the other artists, you might have a better experience.
