In October 2019 I contacted the store asking for advice on getting my first tattoo. They asked many questions and put me in contact with one of their artists who they felt best suited what I would like my tattoo to be. On the day of my tattoo I was extremely nervous as it was my first one. The artist Shani made me feel so comfortable and at ease. The store it’s self was extremely well presented and clean. Very highly recommended. I also attended the store to have my navel piercing changed after loosing two stone my bar had become too big and kept catching. Again this experience was extremely positive, the guy (cannot remember their name sorry) was extremely helpful in helping me chose the right size and also fitted it for me. Loved both my experiences and I will be back for more tattoos when I’ve got the £££ :)

I’ve been getting tattooed here for 7 years now, been tattooed at other studios across the country but have to say that Factotum has been the best shop I’ve been to. They’ve always been extremely welcoming and friendly. They put you at ease super quickly and you can tell that all the artists love what they do and put their heart and soul into their craft. I’ve had a number of tattoos done by Nelson, he is one of the nicest tattooists that I’ve have work done by. If you looking at getting a tattoo for the first time and are a little nervous (as I was) this is the place to get it done, the quality of the art and overall experience is unmatched with any studio that I’ve been to. All of the artist have social media displaying their work and styles. So if you’re unsure of who to book in with check them out. Everyone is always happy to help and have a conversation on a piece you are thinking of getting. It’s alway good to keep up to date on their Facebook page as the often have tattoo artist guest spotting at the studio as well. The studio itself is super clean and has that nice cleaning solution smell as soon as you walk in 😂 Overall just a super chilled experience

I have been to the studio before, so when my friend and I decided to get matching tattoos to celebrate reaching the big four oh, I booked us in here. On asking about what we wanted, we were referred to the lovely Nelson - and what a wonderful unique tattooist he is! He draws freehand before going over with the ink, so not only do we have something no one else has but a great quality piece of personal art to boot. Planning to come back soon!

I've had multiple piercings done by Olly at Factotum and he is the only piercer in Norwich I will go to. He uses industry standard threadless or internally threadless jewellery and everything is incredibly clean. He is very knowledgeable, professional and put me at ease. I had three all day sittings with Shani so far and some piercing done by Olly while ago and I was very pleased with my experience. Staff is smiling and have a very friendly and welcoming approach! Receptionist always happy to help and answer a tons of a questions you might have. I would say the cleanness standard it’s to a highest possible level you could eat out of their floor without a worry. Studio design is very modern and cool especially all those boards hanging on the walls, the one with a Mr Trump is my fav;) Shop is well equipped with a jewellery to choose from which makes this place ever more attractive, because apart of basics they also have some very lovely pieces. Shani is my tattooist and I cannot recommend her enough. I was following her in social media since a while always wanting to have my tattoo done by her. She’s very creative, gentle and assuring. I didn’t even flinch once during my tattoo session. She’s always open to my ideas and never failed once when I ask to have something done. Olly is a wizard as well I didn’t even noticed when he has done my tragus piercing. Painless and stressless! I will be coming back for more within the weeks as I have to complete my sleeve with Shani and honestly there is no better place to have your tattoo or piercing done than Factotum. Procedure to get tatted- show them an idea of your tattoo, they then advise you which tattoo artist to reach out to, u discuss with the artist, they draw up a few days before your appointment, u get tatted. I have been to factotum on a number of occasions. I had an amazing cover up done on my back. It’s by far the most beautiful design, which was not copied, all free hand work and by far my most loved piece. The atmosphere is lively but professional and all the guys put you at ease. The other design I had there was a completely original piece and is so amazing. I’ve also had a piercing at factotum and just like the tattoos it’s all done professionally, very clean and thorough. I have been pierced 3 times by Olly at Factotum, each time he was so welcoming and made me feel completely at ease. All my piercings have healed perfectly, everywhere is clean as you would expect and Olly is so friendly and patient that I did not feel nervous at all (even after multiple bad piercing experiences at other studios). I also got my first tattoo done by Meg at the start of December which was a really lovely experience - she was again extremely welcoming and her and the whole team made me feel completely relaxed. It has healed perfectly and I am already planning another tattoo and piercing for after lockdown :-) I would 100% recommend Factotum, and have done to my friends on multiple occasions, and they have all had the exact same experience as me. The studio itself is very clean, staff are lovely and they have a gorgeous selection of jewellery at various price points. Olly Todd is obviously a very experienced piercer with tonnes of knowledge, who takes time to listen to your vision of your piercings. He's pierced me 3 times, including an intimate one and every time he has been professional, friendly, and has created a welcoming and stress free environment. The BEST studio for piercings (and I'm sure tattoos, but am yet to get one here yet). No piercer has ever made me feel as comfortable as Olly has. I've had four piercings done by him, and they have been my easiest piercings to heal! He is so knowledgeable and answered any questions I had, as well as making me feel comfortable by talking through the whole process. I did not feel rushed, as I have done in some other piercings studios, and felt so safe! There are also so many different jewellery options to choose from, all of which are super safe for wear (nothing cheap which could hinder the healing process). I could not recommend Factotum more, and will be back as soon as we are out of Tier 4. Definitely worth a visit.

A few months ago, I got a HUGE stomach/sternum tattoo with the lovely Meg here at Factotum. Meg is killer with script, very responsive and one of the most lovely & patient tattoo artists. I highly recommend Factotum in the heart of Norwich. It's modern, fresh and spacious. All the staff are wonderful, professional and welcoming. There is a range of different artists (lots of lovely female artists too which is a bonus in my opinion) and styles so there is something there for everyone! The upstairs is very open and I felt very comfortable up there there is a dedicated area downstairs for piercing, the piercer is so helpful too. I had a beautiful foot tattoo by the wonderfully talented Meg after dithering about a design for ages. Meg was absolutely professional, calm and totally understanding each time I asked for the artwork to be tweaked and on the day was just so lovely and welcoming. I am a 47 yr old woman - this was my first tattoo - and it was hugely personal and significant to me. Walking into a tattoo studio is so far out of my comfort zone (I bake, I crochet, I love my cat...) but everyone from the reception to the other artists were welcoming and friendly. If you are reading this because you aren’t sure about Factotum then please feel immediately confident and reach out to them. If you’re not sure about a tattoo - go for it! It doesn’t hurt anywhere near as much as you think and if you’re lucky they’ll put some banging music on to take your mind off it!!

I’ve been to factotum for a thigh piece and a full sleeve with different artists and all have been extremely professional and friendly and very reassuring. The place has an amazing atmosphere and you feel welcome as soon as you step in the shop. I’ve had a few day sessions and the time passed so fast in the company of the artists. The tattoos themselves have always come out top notch and healed beautifully and any issues they’re happy to sort out ASAP and are great to give advice in the healing process. I have also been to olly for some piercings after having bad experiences at other places in Norwich. I get very nervous with piercing needles but he kept me calm throughout and did a very quick and professional job at piercing my Ashley and daith and I was reassured by how clean and sterile everything was kept as this had been an issue at other places. He was also fantastic at changing out my jewellery for me and they have the most stunning selection of body jewellery I’ve seen in the city! 100% recommend to anyone especially those looking for first tattoos and piercings!

Looks a bit forboding from the front all black and silver signage (just which I like) but walk through the door and you are greeted by friendly, affable, knowledgeable staff. I emailed first, to ask for a quote (with the artwork attached) then nipped in to drop off the artwork and leave a good will deposit to secure my appointnent. The tattoo artist Jordan did a grand job on my little geko tattoo, and it came out cheaper than quoted as it didn't take as long as expected, even though people were having bigger tats than me,it didn't feel.like mine was just a fill-in. Jordan discussed every aspect of.my tattoo, even some of the tricks if the trade he was using. All in all a great experience.

So I went here for my first 2 tattoos they are only basic and Meg who I saw was fantastic, so reassuring, made me feel comfortable, when I started to panic she relaxed me and grabbed me some water. She was very in depth with the explaining and even though before i went I sent over what I wanted she created another design for what I wanted in case I wanted something a bit more detailed. I’ve had 3 fantastic tattoos from 3 different tattooists at this place now and I’m really looking forward to getting in for number 4 from someone new this year. I’ve known Olly (piercer) since we were mere nibblets and he did 5 dermals for me that have been perfect for over 10 years now, so he knows his stuff. Every time I’ve had a top experience, laughed and joked, the place is immaculate but relaxed, you can really chat and work out exactly what you picture having, I feel other places can rush, or wander off your idea. It’s important to take your tattooists advice, but I felt supported in what I wanted to achieve and got exactly that. I can come over a bit funny with the adrenaline of getting a tattoo in the past, but never have there, to busy enjoying the experience. That’s gotta tell you all you need to know. I stumbled across factotum the first time by accident about three years ago but would never (I mean ever) dream of going anywhere else for piercings in the future. I was terrified for the first piercing and was a little bit late for my appointment (oops) but not only did they wait for me, the professionalism (and banter) could never be falted. Olly has now done 9 piercings for me (as well as a re-piercing and several jewellary changes). The whole team treat you with nothing but professionalism and kindness. Had two helix piercings done here by Olly. As others have said there’s a separate piercing space which is very clean and very comfortable. Also received an aftercare booklet which was very helpful. Helix piercing prices start at £30 which is pretty average. The staff were very helpful although didn’t think they were as friendly as they could be, and there was a bit of a wait on a couple of occasions even though I had booked an appointment. Would definitely recommend though, as my two piercings are healing nicely.

I visited Factotum with help in regards to my vertical labret. At the time, I had gone through so many balls as they kept turning and falling off the bars. This was a nuisance as I was at work and rarely had any spares with me. I went in and showed them the bar, to which they advised not to use them for the same reason I had been suffering. They showed me their threadless jewellery, which was a hollowed out bar and the end was bent to fit the curve. I hadn't seen anything like that before, but agreed to try it. Anything to stop the barbell falling out of my face after all! The man took me downstairs and pulled out an insertion pin (I promise this isn't as weird as it sounds). Their studios are downstairs and the insertion pin is a taper that fits into the barbell. He kindly put the new bar in for me and showed me how to put the new top on. I tried and succeede, although it is a little tricky to begin with. Another positive thing was that the barbell could also have different fixings, so I got myself a pink gem to go in to for the weekends. He put my old bar and new pink gem in a little container for me to take away. They also took card payments as well, which was new to me as any places I had been before had taken cash. Overall I had a very positive experience with them and they made me feel calm. I get nervous around new people and visiting new shops, so they certainly lived up to any expectations.

Went here today to get our 10 year old daughters ears pierced. We had booked Claire's Accessories but had seen such bad reviews and didn't like the idea of the gun piercings her ears. We were so pleased we came here instead. Ollie was kind and patient with our daughter who was a little frightened. They use needles instead which is meant to be less painful. They also use screw front earings so no butterfly backs to contend with there was also fantastic aftercare advice. I was also impressed with how sterile it was, exceptionally clean. Highly recommended!
