Reviews of Glasgow Central Station
N.
Apparently I can’t review Glasgow city centre so train station it is!
Unbelievable place to visit, full of old and new! Historic architecture is amazing and they have some interesting hidden gems
Z. N.
Beautiful train station, monumental. The trusses above the platforms make a great impression. Clean, with lots of amenities. Our rating is 6/6 honorable. Greetings from Poland.
e. d.
A great place to see such sights as the SSE building. SSE the UK’s leading generator of renewable energy were also Scotland’s single biggest polluter in 2019, due to the 1.6 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emitted by the energy company’s gas-fired power station at Peterhead. You can also see the JP Morgan Chase offices built to meet sustainability requirements that are undermined by the firm's continued investment in expanding the fossil fuel industry. If you want to visit companies doing a little good and a lot of damage at the same time, this station is clean and perfectly located.
M. B.
Historical and engineering marvel. Train station is in the heart of the city. Surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs, public transportation and local services. Station is clean and well maintained. Friendly staff too.
R. M.
What a grand station ! One of the most beautiful and we'll maintained train stations in UK, Glasgow central is pretty picturesque itself - high ceilings, multiple exits and old world charm make this the perfect gateway to the historic city of Glasgow.
T. P.
Very nice station, a Victorian masterpiece adapted for a 21st century United Kingdom always a pleasure to traverse.
R. M.
Always a clean station whenever you enter plenty of friendly staff if your needing help. There are plenty of cafes if your hungry and a couple of bars just waiting on the new restaurant to open . Great meeting place if your meeting under the clock . There is a hotel situated at central also . There is a hidden gem under the station that is alston beef and bar they do great lunches .
N.
Good, clean, and very beautiful design. A nice place to arrive if you're traveling up from London.
A. S.
This a wonderfully centrally located station.
It is currently having some renovation work done but there are still places to grab a snack or drink. There are large digital boards providing updates train information and a staff information booth. The staff was both friendly and knowledgeable.

The Glasgow Central Station Tour
Absolutely Fascinating. Well worth trying to book on this tour underneath the famous Glasgow Central Station. You will visit several floors below, through a WW1 mortuary, learning of the terrible conditions workers faced, until you end at a former Victorian station deep underground. Watch out for possible rats!
D. T.
As railway stations go this good. Platform 16 is dismal. #wheelchair users well catered for. Better ramps than in England. Even the carriages are on #Twitter
G. P.
We were visiting the Railway station to take the tour if the lesser seen parts of the building. Not cheap but very interesting and informative. Well worth a visit. Excellent guide. Recommended.

Brother inlaw passed away. Me and the wife had to drop everything and had to get up there. In stead of driving we went by train because of mobility issues couldn't believe how we were treated absolutely out standing. Thought it was going to be really difficult but staff at Preston railway station was outstanding 👌and when we arrived at Glasgow Central they were waiting for us to help with our bags and wee bus to take us right out side and into taxi couldn't believe how much respect they gave us 👍. So here is a BIG THANK YOU to all staff at Preston and especially Glasgow Central. Coming back there is like a hub where for disabled people in Glasgow Central you can go to and they will help you to your train no walking, as its a fare way. Again thanks 😊joe Glackin.
O. T.
What a beautiful station. This building is so unique to welcome travellers. Staff is wonderful and very organised with traffic control. Security from police is important to have on premises. We will come back for a visit one day. Thank you Glasgow!
L. R.
Big, clean, bright. Large departures board. Plenty of eateries and coffee shops. Plenty of seating. Going to Crewe from platform 2. Toilets are available at 40p.
F. a. F.
Glasgow station is easy to navigate and very clean. It’s animal friendly which was a nice plus. The station is easily accessible via a bus from the airport that drops you off less than a block away. You’ll find a coffee shop and a few restaurants.
G. W.
Definitely one of the nicest train stations, toilets are clean, staff friendly and helpful.
Not many seats is my only complaint
C. O.
Very Large station with lots of seating places and eateries and shops like boots, M&S, Oliver Bonas, Burger King, Upper Crust, WHSmith, Patisserie Valerie, Starbucks, The Body Shop, Costa coffee, Peer A Manger. There are self service ticket kiosks and manned ticket desks. Also has an information helpdesk and RBS atm cash dispensers. Toilets available but cost 40p.
m. n.
Well run clean station who are happy to let you take photographs.
*.
A huge big station with hunners of folk and trains coming and going, nice clean lavies, lots of fast food outlets and a big posh hotel.
It even has its own TV programme
b. c.
Nice to see the Belmond Royal Scotsman sitting in splendour at Glasgow Central , a reminder of a golden age of travel and adventure .
Great to see the repro travel posters and poem as well .
I've been travelling in and out of Glasgow Central since I was a child , and it still hasn't lost any of its charm .
B. T.
A big old traditional train station. Very few leaks. Impressive for Glasgow!
V. F.
This station has alot of history. It quaint with its decor. It a very busy station but if u take the time to sit n look at how this building was built is got great art decor. This trains are on time. The staff are very helpful. 🚅
c. c.
Beautiful legacy of Victorian engineering built on the former site of Grahamston village of which only a few buildings remain with hidden low level platforms worthy of any city haunted tour it's just a pity that in this technological era the reliability of the railway system is still a major issue
D.
The Central station in the heart of my favorite scottish city Glasgow.
Outside it's the classic Victorian-Style building, inside it's a modern style where you can feel a lot of air and space.
This station provides all the necessary service needed for the tourists and the new-comers.
D. C.
Well connected and easy to access. Exits are well signed with toad names, helps when trying to work out what exit to use.
A. M.
Every thing is clear and the staff is Helpful.
K. B.
Provides great service. Plenty coffee shops/resteraunts inside and outside to eat/drink in between journeys. Right in the centre of Glasgow near all amenities. Public toilets inside.
Easy Wheelchair access in and out. Taxi ramp outside cars always available.
Central Hotel in station. Buses, Underground Station and Queens Street Station all walking distance/ minutes away. Ticket Office on site. All good 👍🏻 x

I was in Glasgow for the first time and while there I went to visit Glasgow Central the station was very clean and lovely old building.
I got myself a little lost when a lovely young man John from network rail asked if I required any help he was very polite and friendly.
He explained my train was not ready to leave and as I had I was struggling to stand he said I could have a seat and he would tell me when I could board my train. I would just like to thank the staff for thier kindness and thanks to the boys in pink who help me get the correct train can't wait for my return journey.
C. R.
Beauty of a classic European train station. Clean, safe and super helpful ScotsRail staff.
G. R. C.
A nice train station with beautiful architecture!🤗❤️
A. J. W.
As train stations go, this is one of the largest in the West of Scotland and has a few businesses onsite, Starbucks & Costa, Boots the Chemist, WHSmith to name but a few. Plus it has links to London.
E. L.
Quite an informative station staff are always helpful. Can be cold waiting around but there's a decent pub inside, shops inside and out and a chippy at the entrance. It can be quite rough outside the station late at night or early in the morning. Inside the station is as safe as any station.
Food and drink are almost always close by
l. e.
Fantastic train station, great bunch of staff too!. Well worth a visit on the tour of the Victorian underground platforms underneath, very interesting and Paul knows his stuff, very knowledgeable, great stories of the station and the people of Glasgow, could have listened to him all day! 👍🏼
My LO loves visiting here! 🚂
Also nice grabbing a donut and hot chocolate from Krispy Kreme before boarding the train again! 😁👍🏼
N. P.
Clean station. Plenty of food and drink places.
Could do with more seating areas, lots of standing around and being cramped during peak periods.
S. F.
A very busy station, staff are great.shops selling food and drink in the concourse.unfortunatly a lot of undesirables hang about outside the entrances.keep your wits about yourself, especially at night.
P. H.
Lots of seating, plenty of shops. Free toilets. In the heart of the city. Get the train to Glasgow!
B. R.
Lovely open station with a very navigable layout. Wide open spaces keep foot traffic flowing at peak times and staff are quick to help if help is needed. Some shops inside the building and plenty close to a variety business'. Could utilise the ample space better during quieter times.
H. O.
Perfect location with many shops ,friendly staff and good quality train station.
F. T.
Well kept clean central station for the railway net work Scotland
P. O.
The smell and hustle and bustle and laughter from all Glasweigans is amazing and uplifting.
M. W.
Went to the station with my disabled relative the staff couldn't have been more helpful from the young lady I asked about mobility help to the driver of the mobility vehicle absolutely wonderful. It's very true People make Glasgow.
C. m.
1 verry rude member of staff told.me to go away she verry busys when no other customer she had given me wrong ticket 2.times in a row shocking should get a warning for her cheek
The other staf are amazing verry helpful should get a increase in wage
A. G.
Can't fault the station, it's simple, it's easy to find your way around, plenty of places to grab some food or a drink, staff are helpful. Lovely building too, plenty of places to sit and genuinely overall one of the best stations I've been to. Have noticed a lot of beggars outside the lower entrance though including drunks, maybe take the main exit if you want to avoid that.
T. a. l. i. F.
The station serves London, the South and the West coast. Quiet now because of the pandemic and a lot of the shops are shut.
D.
This is Scotland main Railway, links to whole os Scotland, and also where the London train begins it's journey home. I have very rarely walked into Central Station to find it empty. I have With multiple entries and exits including one to local underground system, and we can understand the reason for the constant stream of colorful individuals.
E. M.
I would like to say a massive thank you to the network rail staff at the central I had come up from England last night to get away from an abusive relationship I had my 3 children with me one in a pram I was looking for a toilet for my girls to use when a member of staff in pink helped get me access to a toilet so that I didn't have to bump the pram down the stairs to the public toilet he was very polite and when I explained he asked if I needed someone to speak with but I was waiting for my mum to collect us he informed me that I would be ok and we would be safe if we wanted to wait inside the station instead of out in the street that I appreciate as it ment my children didn't have to me outside the young man then stayed close by until my mum arrived to collect us I think the boy said his name was john or Shaun thank you very much and thank you to all the staff for all thier help.
People really do make Glasgow
C. T.
Nice train station with many nice shops.
J. G.
Nice station, I have been here many times taking trains to Edinburgh. The inside is very clean and there is a burger king and other places you can go to grab food for the train or just to grab a quick bite to eat.
F. M.
Always exciting to be in a train station, watching people go about their business. Station is spotless and very photogenic.
D. T. C.
Glasgow Central Station is very clean. It is very different than Stations in London. There are many places, where you can sit down and eat during train transfer or waiting. This is a quite big Station. I like there !!!
W. E.
I can enter into the station 🚉 and I can walk up to the escalator to go down to the pavement under the bridge of Glasgow Central Station and a couple of doors along as I can't as the restaurant is closed now because of the coronvirus outbreak all the customers inside the restaurant need to be out as it closes every night at 10pm to Chris from Billyxxx
B. Z.
I love the very WARM, HELPFUL and FRIENDLY service of Ms MAIRI (CS assistant) who works during this morning (4 Aug 2021). Thank you for making my day ❤️
A.
Really friendly staff helping disabled travellers in every way possible
A. A.
A busy train station in the heart of Glasgow. We were very impressed by the beautiful piano playing by one of the travelers. Glasgow is a city full of talent. A big thank you to the performer and whoever donated the piano to the station. Music really is a universal language!
S. B.
I just needed to mention a staff member at Glasgow Central station who went out of her way to help me as I Suffer with a bad back! her name is Amanda and she carried my heavy suitcase on the train and help me in every way she could !! my goodness it’s lovely to see good people like her still exist. Thanks again Amanda if your reading this, you took all my anxiety away! Your a star 🌟
W. J.
Glasgow Central is a great station located in the centre of Glasgow. Freindly Staff and good rail service.
C. S.
All the people I asked for something (needed some change, the trolley stuck and someone was there to inform me why and was very polite) were really helpful, the station is clean and very nice!
F. E.
Everyone very helpful lovely and clean but lost 2 stars as I wish you could pick up a transport system map including the subway somewhere on this station
D. h. K.
Been here loads of times . Clean tidy toilets . The staff are 10 out of 10 go out there way to help you to your train disabled or you need help . The heart of Glasgow beautiful place loads of history.

A train station with great history. Don't miss out!
E. E.
A very nice station with very good shops and cafes.
J. H.
Very bright and clean, even pre-covid.

Glasgow Central is a great station. It is a major hub for local and national rail travel. Good selection of eateries if you have to wait for your train. I frequently use the low level line which is fantastic for traveling to Lanarkshire. Station is always clean and has great staff in the ticket office. They are very helpful.
R. h.
Picture taken to day while going through the city centre central station is always a great place for some pictures
C. J.
Great station, very convenient
S.
Glasgow Central is the busiest train station in Scotland and has 17 platforms (15 high level, 2 low level) and even though there are a lot of platforms it is easy to navigate. From left to right if facing towards the platforms the numbers are in chronological order 1 - 15 and then the two underground platforms are your standard island platforms.
The good thing about this station is that it is easy to navigate which is really important, Edinburgh Waverley station is like a hedge maze where directions aren’t always obvious which causes problems, for anyone who goes in only once or twice a year. In Glasgow Central, this is thankfully not a problem as it is a simple and easy to navigate station which keeps all the shops to the sides, which leaves more room for passengers in the middle of the station.
Services are very frequent and delays are almost never the problem of the station (Delays are usually caused by problems in the actual rail). The place looks very clean on the high level but low level could get updated.
I have very little cons to say about this station considering how good of a shape it is kept in despite it being very populated most of the time, this is a good station to travel to and most people will have a fairly stress free time here!
P.S. To anyone who reviews are bad on the staff, sometimes there are jobs where you need to know some details about the industry, but not the whole industry. If you ask a staff member why a train may be delayed or cancelled, chances are they have no clue, only the office staff and train control staff know that answer so please don’t get into a mood with the staff, all they are trying to do is do a good job. Although the occasional person maybe quite rude.
M. A. S.
Love the friendly people here. Beautiful city.
S. K.
One of my favorite stations in the UK. Has a very historic feel with modern amenities. Easy to access platforms and taxis right out front. Located in the middle of Glasgow and walking distance to everything.
A. G.
Visited Glasgow for the day from Edinburgh as a change of scenery, and some shopping. Nice looking station which is very spacious and, was easy to navigate once off the train where I found the correct exit needed almost instantly.
On our return journey I found it easy to see the train information without issue though like most stations of this size the announcements where slightly hard to hear due to the noise but they were clear enough otherwise so I knew got info I needed.
I was with someone so finding two seats next to each other was hard, but a lovely women kindly offered to move over one space so we could sit beside each other.
The return journey was as painless as can be. The train was on time, we got through the gates with our tickets just fine and whilst a tad busy we were able to get a seat.
K. H.
Only had a delay using Central once and it didn't cause me any inconvenience. I've never had to buy a ticket from the station but the lines usually look pretty long so I would buy in advance. Theres a lovely station tour and the station has plenty of shops inside. I would suggest heading outside to use other shops as the shops inside the station will tend to charge you more. There is a bus which is included with your ticket from Glasgow Central to Glasgow Queen Street and Buchannan which is useful if you aren't familiar with the area. Plenty of bus routes run past/near the station and there is lots of hotels in the area. The station also has low level platforms which on all my visits have had a strong unplesent odour. The smell isn't unbearable but I wouldn't stand down there if you have a long wait for your train. The station has its own car parking which isn't too hard to get to. For anyone unfamiliar with the station, be careful of when multiple trains use the same platform. The signs say front or back train but if in doubt always check that its the right train.
TL;DR - The station has good facilities and is usually kept tidy. There is parking facilities. There is bus connections. The station provides links to the rest of the country.
K.
Major transport hub, particularly for central and south west Scotland. Short staffed, generally busy, often long queues at weekends for ticket machines, ticket office and platforms. Usual fast food, cafes and self service(?) WH Smiths and M&S. Good florist and station tour a must. Very handy for city centre.
T. W.
Brilliant service from the mobility staff at Glasgow Central.
P. M.
What a lovely historic station. Has good visibility for taking photos. Good set of shops. It’s in a good location to serve Glasgow. Has good destinations particularly London. Worth a visit just for the architecture.
D. L.
I had a rather long layover here between trains. The place was busy, but wide open, so it didn't seem crowded. I'm sure many of you browsing through train stations around the UK take for granted the presence of Costa Coffee, but for me it was a shining beacon of sweet caffeinated goodness between trains (and the Costa here is top-notch). Very impressive station, whether you spend a few moments or a few dozen moments here!
P. A.
Lovely station. Big and clean
A. W.
Victorian & historic station serving all areas south & west Scotland also England & Edinburgh with all shops associated with the travel experience. Station is clean and well managed. Trains are usually prompt in my experience although beware of leaves on track
J. P.
Glasgow Central is a very clean and well laid out station with a lot of shops of varying kinds.
There are toilet and showering facilities that are regularly cleaned and usable for a small fee.
The reason for 4 stars is that in the winter it can be bitterly cold.
M. A. R.
Huge, well maintain. Very good service, the internet wasn’t good
K. W.
Train was on time and quiet everybody wore masks and the 2 m was in place felt safe
A. M.
Went on the central tour and really enjoyed it when we were on the Victorian platform we could picture a steam train there and lots of people getting on and of we were also lucky enough to go when STV where filming inside central station so they interviewed us
D. T.
Often used for transit and no attention paid to Victorian building but it has variety of extras including piano in concourse for guests and under station tours that need advance booking. Great steakhouse hidden at entrance.
K. d. c.
Located in centre of the city. Lots of stores outside. Easy to follow instructions within the terminal.
D. M.
It's got trains, can't ask for more than that!
Right in the heart of the city, nice building, friendly service (usually), but the ticket barriers which are fairly new are very poorly set up and not well thought out.
There should also be a better system for when 2 trains are sharing a platform, people are always getting on the wrong train as poorly displayed.
P. M.
Amazing station the history of it and the way it's always busy and the beautiful clock even when travelling to Glasgow by car i always visit the station the staff are always ready to help and selection of shops in the station cracking we cafe near platform 12 that does an amazing Apple and cinnamon coffee deffo recommend a visit
V. G.
Many good measures to commute safely during COVID-19. There were masks available at the entrances, and hand sanitizer. Unfortunately masks will stop being freely available from next week so you need to have your own because it's mandatory.
Many shops are closed due to COVID-19, although Google indicated otherwise.
G. P.
This station is glasgows gateway to the rest of Britain. Its a beatiful building which features a clock as the centre point which draws the eye upward to gaze over a consruction style years lost to time and change.
That said, the trains run largely on time and there are bars, food stops and coffee shops all around. Never ever had any issues at this station.
P. L.
One of the prettier mainline railway stations. A gorgeous central space filled with dark wood-clad buildings, and even from the outside there are nice details - love the glass and CENTRAL STATION sign over Argyle Street. A very photogenic station.
C. M.
Great Train Station For Locals Like Me, So Many Frequent Services. Accept For A Few Delays And Cancellations.
c. n.
pretty but a cold place but makes sense that its cold
G. J.
Our Glasgow big train station Very beautiful and clean no one’s can beat 🏴🇬🇧🔥🔥
B. F.
It is the major train station in the all of Scotland. Well built with easy access to platforms within reach.
Nevertheless, more needs to be done to accommodate commuters around the globe. The train station need to be extended and create more flexibility and even exit.
G. M.
Excellent Virgin First Class Lounge. Easily outdoes London Euston for selection of nibbles etc. Hope Trenitalia continues with the great facility once Virgin Trains make a sad exit.
H. C. M.
Really good station, is very big, open spaced, bright & clean, never had any issues here, has pubs, coffee shops, places to eat, also a good place to sit & watch people as so many people from all walks of life coming & going
P. J.
Typical train terminal. Easy to get about.
D. F.
As stations go, this is a good one. Clean, bright and well-supervised. I even saw what appeared to be a group on an official visit. Best of all, there is a PIANO which anyone can play and some do very well!
B. V.
Visited here across several days at the start of March 2020. A brilliant station, many different types of trains and is very busy. Certainly worth a visit
W. H.
Great station. One of Scotlands 2 main stations that connects with the south. Station is very easy to understand, platforms are laid out from left to right, from 1-15 on the top, 16 and 17 on the bottom if i remember correctly. In terms of food, there is a costa, burger king, m&s and WH Smith on-site. There is a sainsburys across the road, and there is a greggs, mcdonalds, kfc, pizza hut, and many more shops within a 2 minute walk. Staff are helpful and friendly, and the ticket queues are rarely longer than a 5 minute wait. Station relatively clean, food priced higher than at outlets around, so i recommend picking up food from somewhere else and bringing it with you if you are going on the train.
T. S.
Very easy to find your way. Very kind and serviceminded staff
L. P.
As Scotland's busiest train station it's best to avoid it and peak times however I would recommend travelling through it as it's a well kept and managed station with helpful staff though at times the quality of customers service is down but it would be unfair to give it anything less than it deserves. You can get a train to just about anywhere in the UK from this station and there are many connecting services from this station. The station has kept up with modern trends and is actually a decent wee retail spot to with your Costa, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme Burger King along with a other food and drink retailers soon to include a new bar and not to forget the world famous Grand Central Hotel. The station also has a late open (midnight) pharmacy within the Boots store there. There are public toilets there and shower rooms accessible with a small charge of 25p for the toilets. The station has a ghost tour within it which takes you on a tour around the old parts of the station including unused platforms from a disused railway. The station is also home to the largest glass roof in the world (Guinness Book Of Records). It consists of 30,000 panes of glass and covers an area of approx 6.8 acres.
A. M.
Great connections, well presented station with friendly and helpful staff always willing to offer advice and directions. Good shops for a quick pit stop when moving on to other places or waiting for the train.
P. O.
Better since it is a terminus to allow passengers to board trains earlier.
a. m.
Lovely station all your usually things on offer
Z. S.
At first I was a little upset that I had to walk from queen street station to transfer here, but started to look forward to it actually. It’s a beautiful old station with good amenities.
When I first saw this piano it made me wish I knew how to play. But today a man was playing and it made me so happy as he went seamlessly from Bowie to Lennon. I could have stayed there for an age.
D. M.
My brother in law and I were on the station tour today, 25/02/15, and it was excellent, the tour guide was very knowledagable and put it over very well. We intend to do it again if it gets extended to the old Victorian platforms and Grahamston. We would also like to go on to the roof. Please pass on our appreciation to our guide, Vic.
P. M.
Quick service, cold and smelly station as always. Our train was on time so all was good.
b.
Alright. Pros: The architecture is stunning. High roofs and glass metal arches show how glorious Glasgow's industrial past was. The signs and announcements keep you well informed, and it has plenty of shops inside as well (but it's pricey to lure tourists). It is also right in the City Centre (at the heart of the bustle of Glasgow) and next to St.Enoch. It also isn't to far from Buchanan St., Argyle St, and Queen St. Stations.
Cons: The outside of the station is really dirty (but what can you expect from being in the city centre?) - also, it's pretty crowded, especially at peak times so I mostly have to dodge people like i'm in an obstacle course. The toilets ACTUALLY COST £££, which is a huge disappointment - go to the one in St.Enoch if you don't want to waste 40p.
R. M.
This is a beautiful historic railway station. There are plenty of trains to various destinations as well as a wide range of variety of shops, would definitely reccomend
J. s. m.
Brilliant station. wonderfull staff that took time, care and attention to help my young kids when they were obviously busy just to see us smile. It is a wonderfull experience every time i go there. Keep it up :)
L.
Good place but the shops are over priced and they don't enforce social distancing like they did when the pandemic began.
F. K.
As name indicates it's the main station in all aspects. Build very big, has big corridor, has big entry walls, maintained top class and has staffs with even bigger hearts!!
A. L.
Proper station. All the signage over the shops is in a tasteful brown and its not a building site unlike Queen Street. Plus the toilets are free.
D. K.
They are very helpful plenty of staff to help you get your train and help you on the train. Would give them 10 out of 10 from top to bottom staff are tops gold star .
A. B.
Very easy to navigate, this stunning Victorian era train station is well maintained and clean. Be sure to try and check out the tour if you have time.
S. B.
Some great food outlets including Costa and Pret A Manger. The station is at over capacity and this means cancellations at short notice. Great collocation with Grand Central Hotel.
J. n.
Its a nice station to get a coffee and watch the world goes by
D. C. S.
It's a nice big underground near the central station. Hollowing effect is best there 😜
L. T.
Excellent tour which was really informative, funny and thought provoking. Looking forward to seeing the history of the station being documented with all the future projects planned. Well worth a visit.
B. b.
Busy and very large railway station retail outlets a hotel and
Public House inside the station
Concourse
F. D. D.
Have been watching BBC Scotland all about the station, my grandfather was one of the first train drivers to go from steam to diesel before he retired in 1965.
E. t. w.
Good station,Helpful staff. But the only thing is you have to pay 40p for the toilet .Iv never seen any place charging that much for toilet 20p,30p but not 40p.
J. M.
Busy, bright and ideal for a coffee then sit and watch the world go by. Prices can be high but with the rates bring high you can't fault the staff of the food outlets.
C. R.
As train stations go, this station is run well, clean and tidy. Plenty of staff and police presence too to ensure security.
r. b.
Glasgow Central is a very good busy railway station. It is situated near the shops on argyle street and a stone throw away from Buchannan street. There is a local bus service at the front of the station which can connect you to Buchannan bus station and Glasgow queen Street station. Please note it costs to use the bathroom here.
F. C.
It's a railway station whit more can I say except that it can be an exciting place depending where your going
Had many good times here as well as some not so good
Especially when I was leaving home to go to sea
But had great days with my family on way to holiday or visiting
Plenty of places to eat and drink or jist sit and people watch
A. B.
Very busy, but a large open station with plenty of seating in the concourse and on some platforms. Low level can be a little crowded though, especially at peak times.
K. K.
To the central station issues with junkies you can never leave a anything of vaule while shopping in central station because you don't know if they are going come into shops and steal from. Including their stock as well then there other ones stealing tickets from the xpress ticket machine and trying to sell them on at queen station staff are aware of this but powerless to stop this happening so the only ones who can try and deal with this problem is transport police because at the of the day it's stealing and people who travel in out the station are being watched but not the xpress ticket machines so central station staff will have get new and security equipment in place at these xpress ticket machines to stop stealing so centralstation staff please take note because this is not going to go away it's going to get worse so take action and put security cameras at xpress ticket machines please to stop stealing thank you I hope you will take action thank you
W. S.
Very remarkable building!
S. W.
Occasionally there's trouble with the lines or confusion with which platform a train is on but the station is great otherwise. Very well maintained. Great staff. Handy Burger King.
J. R.
Staff very helpful Good array of shops, Clear information, Clean
J. D.
A beautiful old fashioned railway station with one of the world's largest glass roofs. This is a mainline station so you can catch trains from here to a wide variety of destinations.
R. M.
One of the best train stations I've been to across the U.K. Very fast and efficient and friendly helpful staff would try and book all my trains in and out of Scotland through here.
R. M.
Absolutely fabulous experience. Paul, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining and I look forward to the opening of the new tunnel section of the tour, when I will most certainly return.
j. a.
Lots of trains going at a decent frequency to most places. Toilets are free. Shops are all decent.
G.
Excellent train station in the heart of Glasgow. Serving most areas in and around Glasgow also on the east and west coast mainline for journeys to the south of England
J. C.
Great place for people watching
M. M. H.
One of a kind British (Scottish!) railway station, if you like color 🍫 chocolate, the whole station is like a big piece of chocolate, we as a tourist love that station
A. G.
Bright and airy station operating under covid 19 restrictions currently so pax numbers well down on normal times.
Y. T.
One of the best station on UK, specially that old style design from outside, and the Piano that anyone can play on it.
N. H.
Staff very helpful. Clean bathrooms. Good shops and cafes. Usually very busy but still good service.
T. O. N.
I love this place outstanding staff ever time I come to Glasgow I need to go see the station
B. P.
Needs more ticket machines, but should take cards at the barriers, lovely old station but so is the tech, watched my train pull away cos I couldn't get a ticket on time after train from London
R. A.
Very good stuff very good schedule for all trips
A. P.
Lovely looking station with the usual coffee shops. Great location for visiting the centre of Glasgow. Shame it's 40p to visit the toilets.
R. D.
Without question the best centrally located station found in Glasgow, with helpful staff and great aesthetics. Fun place to have a coffee and travel from.
D. B. (.
Big, lots of seating, food options aren't bad. Staff seem friendly and not had issues with delays for long distance travel.
I. D.
It's a large station with lots of shops
A. P.
I love stations in UK, the architecture is really detailed :-)
Trains are even more reliables than in France, even if it could be a lot slower.
A. O.
It's a great space to travel from and the staff are helpful (when they can be). There are shops, cafes, bars and fast food outlets within the concourse and often special attractions in rhe centre.
C. T.
I realky liked the old station gave me lots of pleasure just sitting and admiring the decor,, lots of shops and plenty of place's to sit or eat , staff helpful.
E. M. G.
A nice train station in the heart of Glasgow.
H. G.
It's an OK station. One of my main gripes is that it is cold and there are pidgeon feet laying around. Yes. Pidgeon feet.
They have little spikes on everything so they can't sit down and their feet fall off of these. It's truly disgusting.
A. M. g.
Great train station
A. M.
Really nice station, although some times it's quite dirty. Has a lack of machines to withdraw tickets at peak times.
K. C. (.

Nice open space. Often find myself here waiting for a train, unfortunately the upstairs lounge isn’t open yet but hopefully soon.
E. P.
Alstons Gin Bar is fanbloodytastic, great atmosphere with food and music, great start to a night out and also for the last drink before train home 5*
E. Q.
Great place, overpriced food as usual. Staff can be helpful, but watch out for staff who buy you the wrong ticket when you're confused about departures, even when you said the right destination!
