Stevie helped us out of a tough spot when our rental car suffered two punctured tires on a road outside of Killin in July 2022. First, he picked up my wife and daughters within minutes to drive them to the lovely town of Killin while I waited with our disabled car for a tow truck. Then, he drove us all that evening to our lodging in Oban. Stevie is conscientious, meticulous, and very knowledgeable about the highlands and coast of Scotland. I recommend Killin Taxis highly.

I hurt my ankle while hiking the Rob Roy Way and desperately needed a taxi to take us from Killin to Ardtalnaig. Stevie was the only one around and oh boy he didn’t disappoint. He answered really quickly and short notice and delivered a very professional service. He arrived on time, his car was extremely clean and he’s a really friendly individual. He even gave us some region history during the ride. On top of that, the whole thing was really fairly priced (and the cost announced before hand, no bad surprise). Had to have a taxi arranged for me by abelio after a last minute train cancellation by Scott rail. The driver Stephen arrived bang on time to pick us all up from fort William train station and took us to queen street station Glasgow. The taxi that we got in was immaculate inside and out and Steven has a vast a knowledge of Scotland which made the journey the most pleasurable taxi ride we ever had. Stevie took us from our van to our hotel in Edinburgh on Wednesday morning 2am as part of our insurance policy and gave us an incredible tour of the Scottish monuments in Stirling. Mine had broken down and was going to take a multi-recovery journey back to Bournemouth. Following a breakdown in our motorhome, Stevie collected us and drove us to a hotel then the next day he took us back to the motorhome to collect our belongings and on to Edinburgh for a hire car. I cannot rate this service high enough. Our car broke down on our way to a holiday home in absolutely in the most remote location in NW Scotland you can imagine. During the wait to collect me, Stevie contacted me on three or four occasions to update progress; exemplary communication which is most reassuring when stuck on the side of the road. Throughout the rest of the lengthy journey he was constantly professional, entertaining and chatty and above all showed concern for the less than ideal start our family had to the holiday. All of this despite he himself losing a night’s sleep to get me there. All the stuff about immaculate car etc is all true but the overall care he showed was way above expectation.

I was leading a group on a rail tour of Scotland when we had to change hotels at the last minute, to one in Crianlarich. We needed assistance getting some of the less mobile clients to the station together with their luggage the following morning. The local taxi firm could not help, so in desperation I contacted Killin Taxis. Fortunately they were able to do a 30 mile round trip just to convey clients the very short distance to the station. This may not seem much, but it was the last day of the tour, and had we not been able to provide this service, it would have ruined an otherwise wonderful trip. Some of my clients also wished to leave positive reviews about the level of service received. I can't remember the drivers name, but here's the favourable review I promised, and thank you so much for your help. On time, courteous, polite and very understanding. Highly recommended.

I rang Stevie at 21.00 at night to see if he could pick my driver up at 08.00 the next day as he was broken down. The dealer had not got the part to repair the truck. Fantastic service. Broke down at Tyndrum at 13.30 called breakdown recovery and they sorter hotel and transport for that night. Taxi called us and picked us up quickly, fantastic service. Without doubt the most helpful and pleasant and professional taxi company I have ever used. Stranded in Tyndrum with busses fully booked and trains not running. This company at very short notice transported us to Johnstone (Renfrewshire) for a fair price. We were kept informed of pickup times as traffic was causing issues. I never write reviews but I couldn't stop myself this time. Taxis trips are, as a rule, standard experiences but tonight we had our nightmare evening saved by Steve. In short, on our way to oban hit a rock, flat tyre in the middle of nowhere one hour south of Oban, no other option button book a taxi and a horrid night had one saving grace when Steve dispatched himself instantly and managed to find us and took us to Oban, that would have been enough but he even offered a cig and helped pack the car with multiple bags, did the great service stop there ! No,, , arriving at 11pm at our now closed B&B Steve would not leave until we got in and even spotted the golden light on in the B&B that allowed us to get in. Super character that was sociable, friendly and just goes out of his way, we might have only been a customer for an hour but we are now customers for life if ever in the area, thanks a ton Steve, you put a good spin on a terrible night, top man, top company and double top service, thanks, Lee and Mei

Contacted Steven in advance of a trip to Loch Tay. We were staying in Kenmore and needed to be met in Lawers and taken to the start of a mountain walk we had planned. Arranged a taxi from Ben Lawers car park over to the Lawers' horncarver for an overnight walk around the Lawers horseshoe. Taxi was easy to arrange and arrived on time, with lots of room in the boot for two overnight hiking bags+tent. For anyone else thinking of doing this walk, we would definitely recommend going this way round. Walking back to the car made it easy to arrange a taxi, rather than standing around in the cold waiting for one to arrive at the end of our trip, and also meant we took the An Stuc scramble in the easier direction.

Even at 11 oclock in the evening he arrived within 10 minutes of the RAC calling him to provide our onward travel to Perth from Lix Toll which if anyone knows the area is an amazing turnaround. We'd planned a long walk to tackle the 7 Lawers Munros and gave Killin Taxis a call to make sure we could back to the car at the end. No problem, he said, just send a text on the way down and he'd pick us up. We opted for a sneaky hot chocolate at the hotel instead, but a quick text and the car was there just as we were finishing up 15 minutes later. A lovely clean car and happy to help, despite us being covered in dried bog. Most importantly, at no point on the narrow road, unfenced, cliff-edge road back to the car did I feel concerned - the sign of a professional driver who's more concerned with a good experience than rushing between jobs. Definitely recommended if you're a walker looking to do one of the Lawers traverses and need a lift back to the car.
