Stevie helped us out of a tough spot when our rental car suffered two punctured tires on a road outside of Killin in July 2022. First, he picked up my wife and daughters within minutes to drive them to the lovely town of Killin while I waited with our disabled car for a tow truck. Then, he drove us all that evening to our lodging in Oban. Stevie is conscientious, meticulous, and very knowledgeable about the highlands and coast of Scotland. I recommend Killin Taxis highly.

due to rac breakdown incompetence and a breakdown i was stranded in tyndrum for hours to be told no recovery or taxi could help me out, due to adverse weather that wasnt the case on a clear night , i then spot a taxi from killin taxis picking up a customer who was also stranded, a gentleman of a taxi driver called steevie was saving another rac customer , i asked if he would help out or sort a cab that was able to collect me, he said he would return regardless if the rac called him and check that i wasnt stranded out of kindness and a man of his word after his two trips to oban at 4am he showed up and recued me, a man of his word one of the best if not the best taxi in scotland, a genuine and brilliant car and the service provided has blown me away and put faith in theres still good decent people like steevie who saved me from a disaster caused by my van breakdown nightmare ... not only a comfy cab, good chat and good drive he got me coffee and a donut as i was without cash and i have nothing but praise for people like him and killin taxis... 5 star plus, would recommend this company and especially the driver steevie to anyone gav

Steve aka the “mad Scotsman” picked us up at the Green Wellie services to take us to Glasgow airport to collect a hire vehicle. Mine had broken down and was going to take a multi-recovery journey back to Bournemouth. Needless to say, being on our honeymoon, things were not going too well and a disappointing end to our two weeks in Scotland. However, the hour plus journey to the airport was a pleasurable and memorable one thanks to Steve’s amazing personality and friendliness. So much so that I had totally forgotten the grief of the previous 48 hours. Following a breakdown in our motorhome, Stevie collected us and drove us to a hotel then the next day he took us back to the motorhome to collect our belongings and on to Edinburgh for a hire car. Our car breakdown service booked Killin Taxis to get us home to South Ayrshire from near Inverarnan. Stevie was a great chauffeur and entertained us in a friendly and cheerful way, so the long journey flew by. I am sometimes travel sick, but the steady driving was perfect for me and I arrived home feeling fine. I would recommend Killin Taxis without hesitation - a great service!

I cannot rate this service high enough. Our car broke down on our way to a holiday home in absolutely in the most remote location in NW Scotland you can imagine. During the wait to collect me, Stevie contacted me on three or four occasions to update progress; exemplary communication which is most reassuring when stuck on the side of the road. Throughout the rest of the lengthy journey he was constantly professional, entertaining and chatty and above all showed concern for the less than ideal start our family had to the holiday. All of this despite he himself losing a night’s sleep to get me there. All the stuff about immaculate car etc is all true but the overall care he showed was way above expectation.

I was leading a group on a rail tour of Scotland when we had to change hotels at the last minute, to one in Crianlarich. We needed assistance getting some of the less mobile clients to the station together with their luggage the following morning. The local taxi firm could not help, so in desperation I contacted Killin Taxis. Fortunately they were able to do a 30 mile round trip just to convey clients the very short distance to the station. This may not seem much, but it was the last day of the tour, and had we not been able to provide this service, it would have ruined an otherwise wonderful trip. Arranged a taxi from Ben Lawers car park over to the Lawers' horncarver for an overnight walk around the Lawers horseshoe. Taxi was easy to arrange and arrived on time, with lots of room in the boot for two overnight hiking bags+tent. For anyone else thinking of doing this walk, we would definitely recommend going this way round. Walking back to the car made it easy to arrange a taxi, rather than standing around in the cold waiting for one to arrive at the end of our trip, and also meant we took the An Stuc scramble in the easier direction.

No problem, he said, just send a text on the way down and he'd pick us up. We opted for a sneaky hot chocolate at the hotel instead, but a quick text and the car was there just as we were finishing up 15 minutes later. A lovely clean car and happy to help, despite us being covered in dried bog. Most importantly, at no point on the narrow road, unfenced, cliff-edge road back to the car did I feel concerned - the sign of a professional driver who's more concerned with a good experience than rushing between jobs. Definitely recommended if you're a walker looking to do one of the Lawers traverses and need a lift back to the car.
