A. T.Rob and his team were absolutely wonderful! We called up Saltire Taxis to book just one or two airport transfers, and our group ended up using them about a dozen times during our week's stay. Not only were they the best price around (for both local and airport rides), but they made the experience of riding with them as much fun as the destinations they were delivering us to! Rob, Iain and Marina were all responsive to our calls, experts at navigating the narrow roads around Loch Tay, and a true delight to work with. When we said goodbye after last few rides it felt as though we were parting with dear friends. Thank you Rob and your whole team... we hope to visit again soon 😊

There was excellent and timely email communication between us prior to the trip and Rob was ready to modify our plans when a rail strike may have impacted us. He was prompt for the pickup and got us to our destination in time, waited hours for us and was there when we returned to take us back. He was kind enough to drive a circular route out for the day so that we could see some various landscapes and villages. The ride itself was several hours and we were quite charmed by the interesting conversation that Rob provided. We chatted on many relevant topics of historical and current local interest. D.Rob was great - phoned him on a Sunday morning looking for a ride from Kenmore to Ardtalnaig as my daughter and I were finishing a 4-day backpacking trip - we settled on the timing because he isn't based in Kenmore and settled on a very reasonable price, given that he was driving up from Killin to collect us. Great chit chat on the drive and he was extremely helpful for tips in the area as well and he was promptly on time as well. I'd highly recommend him and I'd use his taxi service again in the area. I'd also be interested in his tours (fishing and otherwise) if I can ever make it back to this beautiful part of the world.

m. m.My wife and I were stranded near Aberfeldy with the few local taxis refusing to pick us up for our trip to the train station in Pitlochry. We tried everywhere (there are very few taxi firms here oddly enough). It was a stressful situation as I had never ever had trouble getting a cab!
Luckily I found Robert and he was courteous and promised to take us to the Train station on the Sunday morning even though he had to come from his base in Killin.
I trusted him as he seemed very alert and friendly. Sure enough, he appeared in good time.
It says more about a company or person how they behave when things are not going to plan. He runs tours and such and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any service. He is a good man and you can rely on him.

He pointed out sights along the way, and was able to help us orient ourselves once we reached our rented flat. S. M.Our group (The Intrepids) were walking the Rob Roy Way and required a taxi service either to take us to a start point each day or back to the base. The times and price (very reasonable) were agreed in advance as a package. The service was efficient, and everything ran on time. Rob (the owner) was the driver several times and he was a star! He was so helpful and flexible, and kept us laughing on all the journeys. He was also a mine of local information. We could thoroughly recommend this service - it contributed hugely to our walk.

There was a train strike and the CityLink bus just waived us off and didn't stop even though we had a pre paid ticket. I gave Rob a call. He was very understanding and immediately set out to get us. Our ride down was delightful. The van was able to carry 6 people and was in top condition. We chatted with Rob about all sorts of things. He took us directly to the rental center. I. M.From the initial enquiry, Saltire Taxis & Tours were professional, friendly, informative and hugely helpful. My journey involved a late Sunday evening from the Highlands to Perthshire and as our Scottish weather isn't always 'easy' at times, it ended up being a raging storm as well! Rob kept in contact in the run up to the journey and was incredibly accommodating of the change of pick up location, and a storm was no trouble either. He was reassuring, informative and an absolute delight to blether with throughout the journey. Rob was always helpful, accomodating, a friendly and wonderful conversationalist, he knows the local area and Scotland very well. I had several enjoyable trips along Loch Tay, as well as Killin, Aberfeldy and an Edinburgh airport transfer too. Rob was always punctual and put me at ease with his calm, safe driving, and went out of his way to get me where I needed to be. Iain with his wealth of local knowledge and history knew exactly where I wanted to visit on the Loch and Rob took me out there and brought me back to Killin several times.

V. R.We were in a lot of trouble hiking with our soaked gear and made the call to see if the taxy can help us out to get us to a campsite. Not only did he come to rescue us from the middle of nowhere, but he shared some really interesting insight about the Scottish life and didnt mind making a stop to help us buy some rain-proof jackets so that we wouldnt need a cab to save us! S. M.After hitting a pot hole & waiting 4 hours in Lix Toll for the assist company to tell us they couldn’t get the car recovered it hadn’t been a good afternoon. We then got told we would get picked up by taxi for the hour & a half drive home to Edinburgh & if it hadn’t been for Saltire Taxis I think I would have cracked!!! A. K. A.Required a return taxi from Killin to Aberfeldy. We compared prices to Uber which were similar but with no guarantee of time and location. Reliability in this part of Scotland is key. He was bang on time for both pick ups and was flexible on both times if plans changed (within reason).
Rob seems to be running a one man show but was more than happy to work around our times to make sure we got the most out of the visit. On the way over he gave us lots of local tips to make the most of the trip, including recommendations on food, sites, walks and tours.
He's happy to mention the tours he runs but wasn't pushy at all and was happy just to send an email. In fairness, they sound great and we'll certainly look at coming back to do some guided salmon fishing! Many thanks.

I was a bit worried from reading online that this would be an expensive tour service. I think they offer tours as an option and i would definitely take one in the future, but i used this just like a city cab - call up and straight forward, reliable service, which was ideal. Thanks!

Saltire Taxis were very familiar with this request, and were only too happy to collect us at a time to fit with our walk schedule. Great chat on the way back to Killin too, lots of local knowledge. Very friendly, flexible service, a huge help with walking less accessible routes around Killin. Very highly recommended !

Arranged for a lift from Strathyre to the train station at Crianlarich to get me home; wasn't optimistic about my chances at short notice on a Sunday but needn't have worried. Great service and clear communication from Rob from start to finish, and obviously no stranger to putting bikes in the boot either! Absolutely brimming with local knowledge as well, a real treat after a long day.
