S. S.We have always had good experience with Hawk. We got a taxi from Ipswich Station back to our home with driver Dominik. Very good service, quick and reliable. Dominik was very kind and helpful. He was extremely friendly - made conversation and asked about our trip. Also very funny and made us laugh lots! Would definitely use Hawk Express again - highly recommend.
S. L.Excellent service. Ordered taxi for 10.30am and turned up on time. Very friendly chatty driver, who got me to my destination in plenty of time. Called for a taxi when I came home, lady said 10 minutes, but it was with me within 2 minutes. Absolutely excellent service and will be using again.

L. D.Best taxi company in ipswich in my opinion. The cars are tidy and smell nice. The drivers are always chatty and get you to your destination quickly and safely. I've never had a time where I've called up and I couldn't book one.
A. D.The only cab firm to have taxis available when I need one and 8 out of 10 of the drivers are very polite. The only thing I would say is that some of the drivers seem to go very strange routes to get to where I need to go. You don't need to go down all the back roads just to make the fair more expensive. I had one where the on route driver cost me £10+ and the return driver only cost £7.10.
Not being racist but generally the British drivers know the shorter cheaper routes
G. H.I needed to use the service of this company 5 times in the last one month mainly for airport transfers as we had guests coming from abroad for family occasion.
We received an excellent service from receptionists and drivers accept the last driver who was not up to the job , but still I will give full marks to the company and will definitely use their service again.

N. M.i use hawk express pretty much everyday to get to work! mostly early mornings and still all the drivers are so lovely and talkative!! great start to a day! never had any problems!
D. M.We have used this taxi firm before and have always had good service with both advance and many ad hoc bookings. With regard to appointments and catching trains, the receptionists have always been helpful, asking me what time the appointments are and if I need to allow extra time for journeys. We have always been satisfied with the cars and their drivers. Last Friday, in particular, I prebooked a taxi to take us to a dental surgery in town. Despite horrendous traffic congestion on the day our driver not only picked us up on time, but also managed to deliver us in time for our appointment with a few minutes to spare. He was also courteous and considerate towards us, despite the stressful driving conditions. After the appointment, we tried to book a return taxi home but were told there would be a two hour wait. Given that the town centre was in gridlock this was entirely understandable.
B. P.Whilst the drivers are consistly great, the phone staff tends to be perpetually grumpy. Prebooked a taxi, didn't show up at the time Hawk's accepted so I rang. The lady on the phone in clearly annoyed manner had to explain that their app doesn't show wait times.
If you don't want to deal with customers asking where the taxi is that you agreed at a certain time, maybe either update the app or accept that you'll get calls with these questions. People count on prebooked rides to get to their appointments in time.

J. G.The driver Kamil was very helpful, he pulled right up to the kerb as my mother is on crutches, and helped her in to the car, and did the same again when dropping us off. We had called into a cemetery on the way and he was very respectful. He is a credit to the company.

S.It's a long story, I phoned for a taxi while at Ipswich Hospital outside A&E and hardly had time to put the phone back into my pocket when a young man (James) rushed over to me and asked my name he said your taxi is here. He apparently was only twenty feet away sitting in his taxi having a quick drink when he got the call.
James then delivered me to my home address way out in the country.
Some time after I received a text saying I had left my spectacles on the seat. Being so kind James offered to take them to my optician in Woodbridge Road Ipswich when passing for me to collect on my next future eye test appointment.
That's what I call an amazing service.

C.Only reason I give this a 3 is I travel up this way for cabs and where I go to the same places on and off some cab drivers have charged me more when I know how much it would cost as I've been charged less before. Or some the cab drivers take the longer way knowing it charge me more and thst is frustrating. I wish uber was up this way as it gives a fixed price.

S. F.Taxi from Lupin Rd to Shotley, Driver was friendly, giving me time to get in the taxi as I'm disabled & walk with 2 stick's. We chatted a bit on the journey which cost me £20.70. Hawk have stepped in twice recently when taxi's from another firm haven't turned up at booked time, These are my 'go to' taxi's now, I would say most of my journey's have been about £1 more but if they're reliable that's fine.

J. C.Hawk Express Cabs has been a breath of fresh air while living in Ipswich. While they may have poor availability at peak times there's always been a cab available whenever I've needed it outside of peak times, and their app is fast and easy to use. Drivers are almost always fast, polite and friendly, and it's good value for money.
Edit: To reply to the owner, to get the extra one star there are two key areas I'd like to see improved. Firstly, availability and communication of availability at peak times could be improved, often the app just appeared to have hung and needed restarting multiple times before saying no drivers were available. Secondly, on a number of occasions I and others have had drivers take a significantly different amount of time than the one in the app, either arriving within about 2 minutes when the time stated is 5+, or arriving 10+ minutes after the estimated time, despite showing on the map as only being a couple of streets away.

B. T.Not sure why it's low rated, from past experiences, they have gotten better recently with their service to be honest. Sometimes, few drivers run a few minutes late, but my booking is too early in the morning anyway, still dark and my area is a maze so, understandable.
Yes, as others have said, they do take the long route, but they will listen if you kindly ask them for the shorter route that you'd know of. Simple as.
I usually get drivers who are quiet, and for a sleepy early-shift worker, during winter, I'm perfectly fine with that. Can just nap with ease until we arrive.

V.Iraq Kurdish I know he is from this country because first thing he asked me was what country I'm from... anyway we asked before the journey started if they accept card payment and he said yes yes thats fine 3 mins later of silence he starts moaning in a semi aggressive manner out of nowhere about phone signal and card payment not being good and wasting time driving other customers around all this while driving and looking backwards to talk... why didn't he just say cash is preferable because we had problems getting card payments before? Eventually we agreed to pay with cash and he says why not just say cash before? Because we don't have to and you agreed on card payment and we were going to use the cash for something else besides that the journey was good and smooth and not too slow

L. M.I have used Hawk Express since they first started up, (I believe they were then yellow cab?) Because I have used them so long, I have got to know a lot of the drivers and so we it's lovely to see them and catch up on what's been happening. I've only ever met one driver who was very rude and unhelpful, that was years ago, I haven't seen him since so I hope he left! All the drivers help me as I have mobility problems, they will carry shopping for instance. Your drivers are a real asset to your company, friendly, helpful and courteous and I will be using them for years to come.
M. A.We use this company regularly but they often have poor customer service. If there is any problem then they dont seem to care. If the cab is late (we always book 12 hours in advance) then you get no apology from the office or the driver, as they have the large part of the monopoly of Ipswich taxi firm the dont seem to care.

Ah ha so now we get to the bottom of why the app is sh-t it doesn't recognise if there's an office load of punters waiting to get home then your promise of a car being dispatched is gone can you imagine a computer in the office at kicking out time trying to deal with the army of laughable drunks omg they should make a film!!!! And why speak to a poxy mobile phone anyway when the girls in the office are always brilliant and up for a laugh!! Think we will leave it at that!!!!

L.Take this service quite often and sometimes late what I don't mind to much. However today it was 30 mins late, I tried calling many times only for it to say your Taxi is on it's way and if I would like to talk to a Opperator please press 0 so I would press 0 as I wanted to ask if I booked the wrong time but everytime I pressed 0 it would hang up on me.

Yes, the call handler is quite rude and blunt. However, the taxi service I received from the 2 drivers I had was good. They arrived on time, seemed happy enough and got me to where I needed. The prices were decent.
Also, the gentleman who drove me on the second trip (an older man using one of your mini-buses, didn't catch his name) was fantastic.
Overall, a satisfactory service and I wouldn't have a problem recommending Hawk to friends.

L. G.I use hawk often as I don't drive. They turn up when I need them and take me to where I need to go and sometimes the driver doesn't even expect me to make small talk and that's really nice. Once there was a mixup with a pickup but I had not given a clear address so that's understandable. Occasionally traffic causes delays so I book with plenty of time to account for traffic. I've not had such a consistently reliable taxi service before. One time a driver just talked about how much he loves his dogs and showed me pictures of them.

H.Had a really good driver today (I cannot recall her name). 1st time ever I got picked up on the side I asked to be (2 sides to the building where I live). Really reasonably priced. Call handlers not great though & found out the text service that usually is used and is very helpful is not working when I called back to see if I actually had a booking when I didn't get a text. I did go to ask when I booked as I usually do but the call got hung up so quickly there was no chance. The 4 stars is for the driver mainly.
L. F.Called them, they answered very promptly. I was taking a taxi to the train station and without asking they checked which train I was getting to make sure that I would make it in time. Had a text confirmation of the booking within minutes of hanging up. Then had a text once the driver arrived (he actually arrived early!). Driver was very friendly - all round great service.
From reading the negative reviews on here I can only assume that they didn’t give enough time between booking and their trip or didn’t leave any leeway for the taxi being late or just didn’t take into consideration how busy it might be when they booked.
I called an hour before I needed the taxi and that seemed fine on a Wednesday mid-Afternoon.

They're always on time, never had an issue with them complaining about me taking too much time either. Most of the time they don't talk which is fine with me, I didn't order a taxi for the conversation. I realise this comment may sound a bit suspicious but I can assure you it is not. I am genuinely surprised at all the negative comments. I guess I've been incredibly lucky...?

I've used Hawk for many years and never had an issue with their service, they've been on time and drivers have been polite and helpful.
Recently I tried a different local cab company and immediately regretted it due to overcharging and bad timing , so used Hawk for the return journey and wasn't disappointed.

M. G.They are a very reliable company, also very prompt with there service. My only problem is that some of the New foreign drivers are taking longer routes so they can charge more money. Some of them just blaitently charge more. The normal and decent drivers know who they are. I feel sorry for them as it effects them.
S. B.The taxis get you from A to B usually in good time, but they are expensive, the driver's can be so weird about paying by card and booking Taxis in advance never grantees you a taxi innthe correct time.
I've been told straight up by the people behind the counter that all Taxi take card and it felt implied that all Taxis will and should take card... Period.. some don't take card and denied they should be... some get annoyed because they say they loose like 20p or something via the card reader.
Although I do agree that connection can be a problem
The app is good but needs an option to say you can only pay via card.
