Excellent service. I want to thank Caroline who arranged for an excellent taxi tour of London, picking us up from the cruiseport and crafting an affordable and lovely tour of the area. She is friendly, efficient and I would highly recommend using this service for anyone wanted to see London from the Southampton cruise port. The driver was knowledgeable and very accommodating to our needs. Just perfect!

Lovely driving man. Took us into town on Sunday. Very good driving felt safe. West Quay drivers are well monitored, they won't fall asleep while driving you to Heathrow, unlike the competition, radiotaxi company.

Being from outside the area, didn't know of any taxi firms. Tried 2 that I found on Google, both were around a 45 minute wait! One cab was on the taxi rank outside the Red Jet terminal with no driver to be seen! Fortunately a passer by recommend West Quay cars, a friendly chap arrived in a couple of minutes and took us to the rail station....super!

Saturday 25/09/21 As usual with West Quay my taxi pick up post cruise was no problems at all. Or at least it wasn't until I got to the Holiday Inn hotel and realised I had left my bag containing our passports, wallet and car keys on a luggage trolley at the cruise terminal. Without hesitation the driver offered to take me back to the terminal and once there looked with me for my bag but with no success. He then waited whilst I enquired about my bag which was eventually found. I cannot say how grateful I was to West Quay and the driver(whose name I did not get in my panic.) Service well above normal, Well Done.

Clear website, easy booking, option to pay by card in taxi

I had to move a lot of stuff around the city and called them up with only a few minutes notice. Very polite over the phone and courteous. They were the only company available and showed up on time. Very patient as I took a long time to load everything. Would definitely call again if I need moving in the future.

Use this reliable, courteous, clean, knowledgeable company lots. Problems, occasionally, due to crazy cruise liner traffic. But over 10 yrs plus and 600 trips 1 real complaint (car cleaning) and 2 fails to pick up in time window (traffic disasters). Safe drivers, good cars. Licensed. Southampton's finest.

They are usually good but, on this one occasion they have let me down I booked a cab that usually cost me around £10 and because the driver was new and didn't know the area and was clearly annoyed with the traffic, the driver kept queuing up in the traffic eding forward then turning round going the other way we just came then trying another way and doing it all over again in the end the cab that should have cost us £10.00 cost £17.00!! Not happy at all rung to complain was told I would get a phone call back but no one every called me back....

Fantastic service. Was let down by FlyBe who delivered us to Birmingham, not Southampton resulting in us needing a taxi for 4 at 0500 in the morning. We got home with the minimum of fuss after a long, tiring journey, perfect.

I just had the FUNNIEST taxi journey I've ever had. My driver (black zafira RO61) literally had me in stitches the whole journey and was so friendly. I use West Quay cars a lot and they're always great but tonight my driver was so good and even flagged down another driver who's lights had broken to make sure they were aware as he "wanted them to have a safe journey."

A really great local private hire and chauffeur service with efficient, friendly and helpful staff and many lovely drivers who are prepared to go the extra mile to give their customers an excellent service. Being a fleet of 100% private hire vehicles they are not required to charge the fare rates set by Southampton city council like many of the other taxi and private hire companies in the area. With this being the case, West Quay's fares (bank holidays, Christmas and new years eve being understandable exceptions) are charged at a standard rate 24 hours a day instead of having separate daytime and nighttime rates like everyone else. Their fares during the "daytime rate" or tariff 1 hours, from 06:00 to 23:00, are on a par with other local companies but their fares during the "nighttime rate" or tariff 2 hours, from 23:00 to 06:00, are significantly cheaper. To give an example, my husband works nights and has had to get a taxi to work for a midnight start on a couple of occasions. The fare from Merryoak to Nursling industrial estate cost around £22.00 with Radio Taxis but with West Quay Cars it was only about £17.00. The roughly £5.00 difference between the fares is quite sizeable for a journey of just 7.5 miles. All in all I think West Quay Cars are the best taxi/private hire car company in Southampton and the surrounding areas and I would definitely recommend them. Five stars! *****
