had a flat tyre this morning, I was recommended by Screwfix Preston and a customer to come here. I was also told that my tyre at the front on the same was was bad too. I was shown 3 different makes and also offered part worn which was very good. I chose the top quality new ones. I did mention I usually have all weather tyres on and also I mentioned to one of the service guys that I was having problems with rear near side tyre. I said I had taken it to 2 garages but they couldn’t find a fault !! So hopefully this garage has sorted the problem. Very quick service and warm waiting room with free hot drinks, very welcoming. Very fast and good service. I was a little disappointed afterwards when I checked on the internet that the ones I chose were summer tyres and we haven’t had the winter and snow yet.. I’ll update the review in 6 months and let you know how I get on with them.

Polite enough, I was guided by the AA as I had to get my front tyre replaced . I Wouldn't say they were the cheapest after looking online but I had to get the tyre replaced anyway. They did try and sell me another tyre but I felt it didn't need replacing.

Rang up as I had uneven wear on my front tyres and knew I’d need new ones plus the tracking sorting. They told me to pop in any time, so I ran my car round straight away. Within 40 minutes or so, they’d put on 2 new tyres and sorted the wheel alignment. What was really fantastic, apart from the speed at which they get the job done, was that they are upfront and open about the costs and clear about asking you what you want. I waited in the reception (which has free Wi-Fi and free drinks) and my car was ready in no time. The place had a constant stream of clients, which is a good sign of a great business, yet there was always someone on hand to deal with the influx of cars. The place ran like clockwork, I was very impressed. I won’t hesitate to use again and recommend Star Tyres highly.

It’s a little while since I last needed tyres but this is probably my tenth visit here. First class friendly efficient service as always. I’ve stood waiting in the garage in the past and it’s a big improvement having a clean warm waiting room with complimentary hot drinks. They also now sell a wide range of wheel rims and offer an alloy refurb service. All good. 👍

I always go there when my tyres need checking/repairing. I've just got my alloys refurbished there and repainted for different colour, took only around half a day and now car looks much better. Staff always willing to help with any problem. Highly recommend!

Star Tyres sorted me out at very short notice on a Sunday, when all of the national tyre companies could not. My tyre size (205/55 17) is not unusual, but the Nationals had no stock! Perfect! Needed my tracking doing, they said no problem, didn't need to book it in, they just did it on the spot. £25 for a 20min job, whilst I had 2 free brews. 2 previous garages had pulled wincing faces and a lot of sucking air, saying it would take an hour and a half and cost £100. Plus it would have to be booked in etc. Also did me 2 used winter tyres that were good as new for £80.

Excellent service. I had a flat tyre on the motorway and a very helpful man fixed it quickly and checked my other tyres for me. He found two large cracks, which he showed me, in my other rear tyre and was able to replace this too. I had only had my car MOTd at the end of May so was surprised my garage hadn't picked up on them. I would highly recommend this garage.

I've been a loyal customer at Star Tyres for a few years now, I wouldn't trust anyone else to fit my tyres. They are friendly, fairly priced and have never spoken down to me because I'm a young woman (unlike other tyre places I've visited). I arrived yesterday (Sunday) just before 12 and despite already having a full garage full of customers I was out by 12.45 having a set of new front tyres and the tracking reset. I had a very comfortable wait in the office instead of standing out in the cold and they even backed the car out and turned it around ready for me to drive straight out once I'd settled my bill (a simple gesture but really appreciated). They are always upfront with the costs, with a range of prices to suit your budget and I have never felt pressured to spend more money than necessary. Edit: been back after inflating the tyre every couple of weeks, star tyres have inspected the wheel, found the leak from the valve, cleaned everything up and replaced the valve. Very well handled. Even offered me a free brew so they're definitely on to a winner. Back to 5 stars again. Keep up the good work, minor blip to a good history 👍👍👍 Used to use these regularly. Won't be again though. Fitted tyres I asked them not to, and not a matching set which I was quoted for. One of the valves were leaking from it's seating, all he did was tighten the inside of the valve completely ignoring what I'd said. They've become pressurising and rude, with no customer focus anymore. That valve is still leaking (about 10psi per week) so I've either got to travel 25 miles either way to get a problem sorted I've already been back for (assuming they will) or just pay out locally to have it done by someone else. Not good enough

We had a damaged tyre on the last day of our trip to Lake District. Being a Sunday it was very difficult to find any tyre places that were open or had the required size. We spoke to Star Tyre Services, not only they had options in the required size but the prices were pretty good too (didn't take advantage of the our desperate situation). They showed real concern and took time to give us directions over the phone. We were offered tea & coffee on arrival. Our tyre was changed in minutes so that we were able to continue on our long journey back home. Very polite and friendly people. A great experience overall. Would definitely recommend them.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. I'd originally gone to Kwik fit, (I'm not from the area and just stuck with a large chain I could easily find online), who then broke a bolt for my wheel and couldn't remove it. Kwik fit told me to find another garage and get the bolt removed myself. A lot of ringing around later put me onto star tyres; who were fantastic. The staff were really friendly, the manager was really helpful and informative, telling me what they had to do in order to get the bolt out and offering advice on other things. If I hadn't already paid for my tyres at Kwik fit I'd have 100% had these guys change my tyres. I'll be recommending star tyres to all of my friends who do live in the area. And indeed to you reading this review!

I have bought Part-Worns from this garage for about 8 years now, changing summer and winter tyres. They often have Michelin Alpin and Primacy in stock, Contimental Pilot Sport, and other premium brands, generally with 6 - 7mm of tread left. Still worth checking each tyre yourself, I would say they are more honest than most tyre places but things can always be missed. Recently bought a pair of Minerva Ice Plus tyres; hadn't heard of them before and assumed they would be fine as rear tyres on my FWD Civic. Turns out they are a very dangerous type in the wet, with horrendous reviews as well (I should have checked!). I went back the next week and, although there was nothing wrong with the tyre as part worns, just a bad model of tyre, they replaced them with some excellent Continental WinterContacts, just charging me their £10 fitting fee. They seem to get their tyres from Germany where the minimum tread limit is 5mm (opposed to our 1.6mm). Lots of high speed summer, All season and winter tyres in their collection of warehouses. Good staff, good to chat to about tyres, free coffee, totally attentive. So long as you pay the usual attention needed when buying anything second-hand (Part-Worns) then this place is excellent. (They sell medium-level new tyres too.)

I left my car on the freeway after my tyres was blown to bits, and the police pounded my car, even after letting them know someone will return shortly to remove my vehicle. To recover the vehicle cost me £250 but luckily Star tyres were so helpful to me when I felt so frustrated. They spend 3 hours with me to try and sort our my car, changed the tyre that was blown. Alloy wheel refurbishment - Welding and powdercoat done in house no external contractors involved!! Tyre Repair - puncture repair where possible. Wheel balancing. Mobile tyre fitting. All services are run in house no external providers to ensure the best quality service.

Ok so it's a small garage in a side street. But the lads that work in it seem to care about what they do, I watch them. I'm sure there are bound to be occasional cockups, as in any business - but I do over 70k miles a year and have used them for over 12 months. Wanted 4x tyres. Unfortunately there was a mix up and I got the wrong tyres. Wanted Bridgestone potenza but got Bridgestone driveguard. They did change them, even though I'd drive on the tyres but cost me £40 more for the different tyre. Could have got the potenza for £10/tyre less elsewhere, but to be fair the mix up was partly down to both sides.
