This was our first time using a travel company and could not be happier with our choice. Nick created the perfect honeymoon itinerary for us on short notice. Being that it was our first time to Africa, I had tons of questions and Nick was always timely to respond by either email or phone call. He offered excellent feedback and suggestions that turned out to be spot on.
The travel rules changed 3 weeks before our trip (rapid testing requirement was added). Nick notified us immediately and also arranged for our COVID PCR tests while in Zanzibar.
We could not have asked for a better guide and the accommodations were excellent as well. Nick advised all of the resorts that we were on our honeymoon and each resort did something special for us which was much appreciated.
We are grateful for Nick helping to plan the best trip of our lives so far! We were also happy to be able to contribute to the areas tourism during these tough times. Our trip was the first time our guide had worked since COVID started...and each resort we stayed at had less than 20 other guests. It was almost as if we had the place and the herds to ourselves. We will definitely use Nick and the Africa Specialists in the future!

Nick has been a great help in organising a 3 week trip to Tanzania for me and my sons. Would highly recommend these people to help you through the choices. More when we return!

Gemma at The Africa Specialists was terrific! She created an individualized travel plan for us to Tanzania including a stay in Zanzibar, a safari in the Selous Game Park and an incredible stay in a Maasai village. All the travel arrangements worked out perfectly and we can't say enough about using this company. It was truly a 'trip of a lifetime'!!!

Hugely indebted to Nick for a wonderful honeymoon, spent in Tanzania (Selous Reserve) & Mozambique (Guludo). Very much a tailored experience to our wishes, with invaluable insight into the regions beyond expectation. When I mentioned the wish to explore Northern Mozambique, instantaneously knew Guludo would suit us perfectly. Promptly answered and resolved any queries, even when we were on the trip itself.
Wonderful trip, glow with reference to locations, particularly Guludo, an amazing beach-side lodge, beautiful water, fantastic diving, brilliant food and of course felt extremely welcomed by the community.
Cannot recommend more highly! Certain to use again.

I travelled to Tanzania with Tanzania Specialists in late August 2014.
Nick’s organisation was faultless throughout - helpful, prompt, efficient.
I visited two parks: Katavi and Mahale Mountains. In Katavi I stayed in two camps: Katavi Wildlife Camp (7 nights) and Palahala (3 nights). Katavi Wildlife Camp was very good in every respect, i.e. comfort, food, service. What lifted it from the merely very good to excellent was the presence of Nick Greaves who, in my many years of travelling in Africa, was the best guide I have come across. His knowledge was astonishing, drawing on years of experience - all delivered with modesty and sensitivity. He made a huge difference to my enjoyment of my stay. Overall I found the quantity of animals did not quite live up to its billing as outstanding for wildlife, but this may have been because I was a little too early for the dry season to advance and force the animals to congregate around the vanishing sources of water. The absence of animals was particularly acute at Palahala Camp. Game drives from there resulted in very few sightings. A lot of driving and not very much to see. The camp itself is O.K. but there was a lack of attention to detail and a lot of small things could have been corrected at very little cost.
I tacked on Mahale Mountains almost as an afterthought, but I am very pleased I went there. Kungwe Lodge (4 nights) ranks as one of the very best places I have stayed, anywhere. Everything was superlative and could not be faulted by even the most critical guest. Tracking and viewing chimps was a wonderful experience. I was fortunate in that it was not necessary to walk long distances to find the chimps at that time of year and one afternoon they even came into the camp. I saw chimps every day during my walks. It is possible to get very close to them, and they take no notice of you at all! A great experience.
