African and Oriental Travel Company, aka Raf and Cis, are a highly professional and well run travel operation that have many years of varied travel experience both personally and professionally. In short they really know what they are doing. They do the hard work so you don't have to and it shows with the amazing personalized trips they produce. All you have to do is ask and they can tailor to your needs and,more importantly, they will have actually been where they send you and know intimately what they are providing. This I feel is where the magic lies, they know their stuff and are passionate about the services they give and love the countries they are sending you to. I have traveled with them many times and plan to do many more. Thank you the Jahs for a great job , well done.

I have just completed a fantastic trip in Tanzania, organised from start to finish by The African and Oriental Travel Company. Although, I am no novice to travelling in Africa, in these uncertain Covid-19 times I felt it was essential that I booked my trip with not only an African specialist but with a company that have really good on the ground connections just in case something went wrong, and this is exactly what I got. Raf and Francisca, the owners of the company, have lived and worked in Tanzania for over 20 years and speak Swahili fluently, which gave me the confidence that any problem I might encounter would be dealt with in the most efficient and cost effective manor. Having travelled to Tanzania a couple of times before, I wanted to see something a little different to the regular ‘tourist route’ and this is exactly what they achieved. They have fabulous contacts throughout the country which facilitated not only going to some incredible places, slightly off the well beaten tourist track, but also provided great value for money in what is usually one of Africa’s more expensive countries. Tanzania is without doubt a first class safari destination, but Raf and Francisca were able to showcase this product at a very affordable price which was essential for me, having found myself unemployed due to the Covid pandemic. Without hesitation I would recommend this company for all your safari and diving needs, so much so I am already planning my next trip with them, Kenya in the New Year! Thank you to you both for an incredible trip, and one I thought would never be possible this year and I look forward to travelling with you again.

We just went diving to Antarctica and South Georgia with Raf and Francisca; it was my third trip with them. They will help organize any and all aspects of your travels to suit your needs, and once you meet up with them on a trip, you're family - they go to any length to make sure your travel experience is first rate. Unlike most operators, they're right there travelling with you, but at the same time, working to make sure your trip is going well. And the best part is they find unusual, off-piste itineraries to satisfy your desire for adventure travel, especially, but not limited, to scuba excursions - all the while doing all the organizing and planning on your behalf. Experienced a truly memorable trip, with the Dar Exile Diving Group, to Saint Helena in February 2020. The diving was superb - endemic fish, Chilean Devil Rays and wrecks - while snorkeling with Whale Sharks is an unforgettable. If that wasn't enough the warm hospitality of the 'Saints', excellent accommodation and island trips - including Longwood House where Napoleon lived while in exile - capped off one of the best diving vacations that I've ever experienced. Wonderful trip across Southern Africa traveling through Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. The range of landscapes and wildlife was incredible. Nothing beats seeing the stars in the Namib Desert. We had a fantastic local guide/driver who was very knowledgeable and didn't complain despite having to change multiple flat tires. Wonderful accommodation and tasty food. An unforgettable trip!
