M. B.An absolutely brilliant experience!! £12 per person and worth every penny! It's exhilarating, but also relaxing in parts and allows you to view Cardiff Bay/Atlantic Wharf/Penarth from a different and stunning angle. I took my 9 year old cousin on it and she had the time of her life singing along to 'Danger zone' whilst riding the waves! I live in Cardiff and will be strongly recommending this to anyone that visits, even if it's just to go back on it myself!
H. B.What a wonderful day out! As tempting as it was to roll back to sleep when the alarm went off at 05:30 to be at the causeway for 06:15, I'm so glad I didn't! The sunrise was beautiful, the team were warm and funny, and made everybody feel at ease with one another. There were nice little touches such as the playing of the Jurassic Park theme tune as we approached Steep Holm and all of its majestic beautiful, and generally being there to answer any questions about the island that people had. I was worried that twelve hours on the island was going to drag, but it was a surprisingly beautiful opportunity to slow down and enjoy the numerous trails taking in the history and natural beauty of Steep Holm. If I lived closer, I could certainly see myself becoming a volunteer there! Thank you for a fabulous day!

A. S.Amazing ride, excellent value for money and staff are very helpful, welcoming and informative. We went for an hour long Coast ride and saw 2 islands, cruised at high speed and learnt about the history of the islands. We didn't set foot on the island but that is an available option and you can stay there as well. Crew helped us into and out of our life jackets before and after the trip. If you want to record or take pictures you can do so as speeds are reasonable but as with anything, you do so at your own risk! A go pro or the like will be more suitable and sit at the front if recording is your thing. The sea breeze can make it a little chilly so a jumper or jacket is recommended if you get cold
S. W. L. W.A post Lockdown escape with my family to Cardiff Bay, was a lovely treat. This fast and furious speed boat ride had the teens screaming with joy, while me & my sister screamed with terror! Well worth the experience. The teens will definitely do it again! I’ll watch next time :)
C.We booked bay island voyages for our son's 10th birthday,(23 August) he and his mates had an absolute blast, the 2 guys that took us out were great, they gave the boys information about the lock/bay and about the dinosaurs, but equally splashed us about the sea. would 100% recommended

J. W.We did the 15min speed trip yesterday and the 1hr tour today.
The 15min trip was pretty good but the 1hr through the barrage to Flat Holm was exceptional, the trip from dock to dock was 1hr15mins (which makes the value even better) bouncing on the waves at speed made it better than the prior day. We saw a (rarely seen) porpoise on the return leg, Raced shockwave back in the bay, and did some moves including a very tight 360 that had the water almost over the edge of the boat, wetting my youngest and impressing us all.
The whole trip was really informative, facts about Flat Holm, dinosaur discoveries etc, with a very nice, comedic skipper.
You can’t go wrong with this company what ever trip you take, but I’d fully recommend the 1hr trip into the channel

M. B.Two high powered engines on the back of a 12 seater rib speed boat! What's not to like!?? Very considerate price rise due to the COVID-19 restrictions (boat can only hold those in 'bubbles' within two metres from the crew, or, the other bubble - safely was more than well considered), but, still a lot of fun for the money! If you're around Mermaid Quay, or, find them on their website (all trips are shown, and, bookings for day trips etc can be paid for in advance - you can also pay on the day, currently via card only. Thx for a good time, will be back! 🚤💨
T. W.Excellent. Tried the 1hr Costal tour and saw FlatHolm and were given some interesting trivia about the island and the surrounding tides. Got soaked but that's the fun when speeding through the choppy seas. Highly recommended.
T. P.To and from Steepholm with Bay Island Voyages. We went in two Ribs, presumably for safety as well as capacity. They rode over the waves at speed for an exhilarating ride. The crew were professional and the boats seemed modern and well maintained. Recommended.

Driver is very skilled and capable. All in all reasonable for £8 a head with us definitely coming back for more!

V. G.Definitely a 5 star experience! Booked a 1 hour tour around the island and into Bristol canal, it was amazing and adrenaline packed ride to don't forget. Staff were very professional, helpful and sociable. You will be provided with an extra layers of clothing (it gets really wet when you're out in the sea!) and a life jackets. Views were unforgettable!

A.When we look back on our time in Cardiff, it wouldn't be our 3km to & fro walk to Pernath Custom House that'll standout, nor the panoramic view along Taff Embankment; it'd be the "Bay Blast" in Bay voyages' blue RIB speedboat. Will was behind the wheel and his brother, Rob, sold the tickets at the kiosk. We highly recommend this memorable ride anytime you're at Cardiff Bay! Fastest 15mins ever.

c. p.What an amazingly gorgeous place...went with my daughter for the Torchwood/Dr Who links...had a great time and sat in the same reastaut where the 9th Dr dined with the Slitheen - probably peed in the same urinal too😕- dodgy claim to fame lol. Stood at Torchwood tower, and visited Iantos memorial...had a great time...not too busy and loads of friendly people....but so with they kept the Dr Who centre!
J. M.Bay Island are the most reliable RIB company I have used in Cardiff Bay. They will always put safety first which is very important when venturing out side of the safe confounds of Cardiff bay into the Bristol Channel.
