D. A.friendly staff, decent and cheap rooms. But the heating in my room keeps cutting off automatically, making the room to be poorly heated. I recommend you drive your own car before lodging here because there are basically no public transport link.
A. B.Stopped here for a night after watching Steelers at Ice Arena Wales. Location great as 10 minutes drive from Cardiff city centre.
I was a little skeptical at first when walking through the corridor as it looked very dated. Once I got into my room, it was very clean and tidy. The bed was was comfy. Although the water pressure in the shower was a little weak, it was still more than usable.
As the hotel shares a service station. You get 20% off your order with Burger King, Costa and WH Smith if you're staying as a guest which is a nice bonus!
My biggest gripe with the hotel, you only get free WiFi access for 30 minutes, you have to pay for unlimited access. There is no bed side plugs at least in our room anyway and lastly there wasn't enough pillows, luckily we brought our own as a spare.
A. H.Excellent clean room. Corridors looking tired. Reception staff member very friendly and welcoming. Food outlets nearby with a Greggs, WH Smith and Burger King. There's a Spar at the fuel station. Large car park.
m. h.Deborah at reception was friendly and upgraded our room to a family room with no bother. Cheap, large room, comfy bed and a quiet nights sleep. Anyone who complains about the standard of rooms should put there hand in there pocket and pay a bit more.
N. H.Quiet, comfy, lots of options for food and discount in moto when staying with the hotel... Customer service was outstanding. Joanne helped me beyond her duties yesterday and was so caring and understanding. I don't normally rate motorway hotels. But honestly I'd stay here again happily. We stayed one night. Room was clean. Beds were clean and comfty and covid regs followed... Well done team keep up the amazing work and thank you so much again. Joanne deserves a massive shout out for yesterday.
a. j.Great customer service. The rooms are clean, not spotless but for the price I paid I was overly impressed. The walk to the rooms are a bit drab with a student/military accommodation feel with tired carpet but I was happier when entering room. Had the usual with kettle, coffee, cups, tea, coffee with great comfy bed/pillows. Bedding clean and great. Cardiff was only 20 mins away and was great for a trip to Outlet Village (20mins), Swansea (40mins). Would recommend if you dont have sky high expectations.

D. M.Debra, receptionist was very attentive when my husband arrived feeling unwell. Swapped his room from upstairs to ground floor and after an hour from his arrival she checked on him and offered to check on him every hour. Really she is a customer service champion 🏆thankyou!

m. l.Joanne the receptionist was fantastic. She treated us like long lost family! As we were staying for 16 day's the hotel offered us a larger room. The only downside is the location next to the motorway making it a bit noisy
g. e.Bed was nice , but bathroom with a squeaky door smelled of stagnant water so I ran all the taps to try to get rid. Grubby carpets though leading to the room, pale and bald in places. Basic and for the price is ok but a premier Inn for the same price is pristine

K. P.Good place for a very short break. The room was clean the staff was friendly. Could hear the noise from the motorway at night but that didn't bother me and my kids so much. I do recommend to book room without a breakfast as there is Costa open 24h and Greggs open early in the morning so there is much better option for the same price . Overall happy with my stay here (2 nights)
T. M.Reception is through the main doors of the service station. The carpets in the hallway are quite dirty so it makes you wonder what the rooms are like. However, the room was very nice and clean and comes with a bath in family room. No lifts so have to use stairs and no card key, just normal keys.

R. G.Did the job basic very old rooms bit dirty but OK for a one night stay no restaurant just burger King so off to a local pub for evening meal. Comfortable bed. But a dirty cup. Clean towels, box breakfast was just enough.
m. c.Our king-size bed was comfy but the two pull out beds for the kids were hard and small. The cleanliness wasn't the best. We found rubbish in our rooms and mould in our baths. Staff were superb. Really friendly, smiley and helpful.
L. P.Pleased it was cheap. Any more than £34 I wouldn't have stayed. Room was in need of general cleaning /dusting. The base of the kettle had months worth of grime around it, obviously the cleaners don't lift the kettle when cleaning! Bed was not very supportive. Trod on a foil top from a bottle of fizz which was next to the bed, the hoover doesn't like foil apparently. Very quiet for a motel on a motorway, wasn't disturbed by traffic (we were on the car park side rather than the road side).
This should be next on the refurbishment list. It's very tired and a bit grubby.

D. B.Shared a room with two friends as part of a stag group. The room itself was comfortable, if a little on the warm side. The camp bed/sofa bed I was on was actually really good, but the facilities in the room weren't great. The mouldy, dust covered fan on the shelf by the door rattled loudly. The breakfast in a box left a lot to be desired, and for a service station near a major city there was little to pick from downstairs. Overall though not bad. Just don't go here expecting a great stay or value for money and you'll be fine.

T. P.Unexpected stay here after another hotel chain had double-booked us. Receptionist told us there were no rooms so i used my phone to log on to Travelodge's website and booked one there and then at a discounted price too! Reservation system needs to be addressed. Rooms were clean and well maintained but no lift!

Would like to say a massive public THANK YOU to the receptionist on duty on Wednesday night 12th July, who called me whilst i was stuck in traffic on the M4, to ask me if I would like a taxi booked to take me and my friend into Cardiff to see Coldplay as she realised time was running out and The roads in the centre by the stadium were going to be closed. It was so thoughtful of her. As soon as we arrived she had our room key ready so we could dash up drop our bags off and quick change. It was so unexpected and very much appreciated. Thank you x

W.Stayed here on our way to stay with some friends in Cardiff very nice room very low price it's a typical budget hotel very clean room even had a smart TV which was brilliant able to use internet Wi-Fi it was great plenty of places outside the park staff friendly and courteous nothing was too much trouble problems at all shower was lovely nice and hot and the towels were luxurious
L. J.Honestly, it's the same as you average run of the mill Travelodge. Double bed, television, bath/ shower. It was clean, well kept and convinient for going to Cardiff as it was cheaper than staying in the city (it was cheaper for 3 of us to stay on the M4 than it was for one of us to stay in Cardiff bay) and only a short drive away. Staff were polite whenever we spoke to them. However, there is very little in walking distance to the M4 lodge besides a Gregs, Costa and a W H Smiths.
