Foo Fighters and Oasis tribute bands played last Friday at Staniland and it was an eventful night. Different food and drinks were available. A good night 😁

Dry dock experience. I booked the uncovered dry dock at the marina at the end of August 2020. It was an easy booking process, all conducted via email, which was replied to promptly. There were some issues with the drainage of the dock, which meant I lost a day working on my boat; however, I was kindly offered a reduced rate for the lost day. Water and electric was accessible, as well as the use of the Elsan disposal, showers, toilets and the pay per use launderette facilities. The marina has a small Chandlery shop which was handy for getting a few bits; pricing is a little high, but it’s to be expected for on site convenience. The Barge Inn is the on-site pub, which is in reasonable condition; the staff are friendly, the drinks are cheap and the food is nice too. The marina is quite rundown, with lots of boats on blocks which should probably be in a scrap yard. Sadly, these factors make it somewhere I wouldn’t personally want to moor full time, I’ll be back for the dry dock again though. The reason I’ve given the marina four stars instead of five, is due to the lack of communication and customer service on arrival, as well as the previously mentioned ambience of the place. However, don’t let those things put you off from visiting; I’ll be back. Thanks Staniland Marina.

Attended their recent Saturday afternoon tea/gin tasting session with a friend. The weather was fine and sunny so we sat outside. Very friendly staff. The afternoon tea was delicious (I prefer savoury items so this was an ideal mix for me - most afternoon tea experiences have left me disappointed as there are usually more sweet than savoury items). There was a vast selection of gins available behind the bar, and the ones offered in the gin tasting looked interesting - but my friend and I were talking so much we only tried two of the "tasters"! 😅😄. We paid £25 each for our tickets, which covered the afternoon tea, the gin tasting and tickets for two glasses of gin from the bar. Had a lovely afternoon. Would certainly recommend this pub and plan to return soon.

A lovely place, a family run business that impressed us so much we went back and rented their narrowboat for the afternoon. Rob, who runs the Marina with his wife and kids is a lovely bloke and the café was really good value. Hire Mr Toad, we did and we loved it, our first boat hire ever, we're going again soon for a full day. Amazing experience.

A great pub. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is amazing! Dog friendly and family friendly too. A baby change table in the toilets would be super. The set up of the tables/pool table/ chairs could do with a move around for practicality. Really looking forward to visiting again for Sunday lunch!

Only here as a visitor but enjoying the really good services they have on site. Good showers with plenty of hot water. Very convenient laundrette. Incredible pub grub served in the very friendly Barge Inn. Will certainly be back to eat at the pub after our visit is over.

5 stars no doubt. These guys couldn't have been more accommodating. Simon and his team helped me get a widebeam canal boat across to Ireland, assisting all the way from facilitating a dry dock and pre purchase survey last minute, and arranging a crane for lifting out of the water on to road transport. They even managed all the logistics and operations with the haulage company. Friendly and professional staff that certainly went above and beyond the call of duty! Would recommend to anyone.

Although I love staniland marina. The people who drink there. Stay there. And work there. There's just one man to avoid!!! His name is kev (Skippy) astill. He moans. Drools and smells of urine! Don't leave your drink near him. Or borrow this vagrant money! Lol as you can imagine I know him. Kidding aside kev his mates and staff will make you very very welcome. Very good laugh with them all. I love going there. Nuff said! .X.

under new management next week new owner seems keen has another marina up north so knows his stuff and slowly upgrading stuff good to see the this spot getting sorted. Went to the opening night 7th of feb it was very pleasant and a great mix of music. Prices where quite good too.

Fished here using a waggler loads of roach and the odd pike, free good parking, and a barrow/ trolley would be needed, looks like a new path has been laid along the canal side so clean easy access

More a friendly working boatyard than a narrowboat marina. Visitor moorings are limited and located near to the Barge Inn which can be noisey at times. Elsan disposable point is the worst that I have yet encountered but the negatives are counteracted by the friendly and helpful attitude of the staff and fellow moorers.
