Reviews of Edinburgh Trams

Took the tram from Edinburgh airport to the city centre. Took about half an hour. It was quick and the tram was clean. Very comfortable and affordable ride. Best way to travel to city centre from the airport.

Whilst I've rarely rode on the edinburgh tram, it is a good experience, bringing a faster and greener alternative for travel between the centre of edinburgh and the airport. The transportation service has a low fare, and is the best way to get to the center, as it is cheaper than a taxi and in some cases, faster. The new tram extension up to Leith will help tourists and locals take a quick service up to Leith, which has many attractions and is an important part of the city. There are 5 reasons for why I give a review like this.
1. Speedy and modern
Whilst it may be quicker to drive to the following places on the tram, whenever it is the rush hour, it is the fastest transportation service in the city. Also, the tram has good quality, with a modern, clean look, easy to understand.
2. A good route
The tram takes a good route, throughout the western outskirts, the gyle, and then into the west end and new town, including a direct connection to Waverly, just a minute walk to the entrance.
3. Reliable
The tram, unlike the car, doesn't get disrupted at all if not very little during the rush hour. It is a system of transport you can rely on.
4. A cheap, inexpensive tram
The trams in the city don't cost much either, so you can easily hop on with a low fare.
5. Not always open
I think it was a good idea to run the tram alongside the rails between Edinburgh Park and Haymarket, as it is independent from the roads. This means the tram has no disruption at all, and is smooth, with the trams being able to go quick, making it faster than the car in the rush hour, and it is a better option even in the off-peak, as there is no pollution emmited.

Not really for this place particularly but for the bus driver of number 36 going to ocean terminal. Sj70 hpf at around 11:45(from morningside) in the morning. The gentleman was very helpful, friendly, polite and kind. He literally helped every single person who needed help. From pregnant women, people with disability, elderly and pretty much anyone and everyone who needed help that 99% of bus driver’s don’t pay attention to or care about. The world would be a much better place with kind people like him. I couldn’t get his name but his kindness towards everyone he met will be remembered and passed around.

Teams are good and take you to the airport. My only gripe is that there is no stop near the Waverly station. The tram does stop near the Edinburgh Castle (7min walk). You have to validate or take a ticket before boarding the tram otherwise you will be fined. There are ticket vending machines and your can buy day tickets which are valid on both Lothian buses and trams.

Their clean, their modern, they go to the Gyle ( that famous landmark not ), but did Edinburgh really need them ?
The money that was spent and still being spent, is eye watering.
A huge " white elephant ", in a lot of peoples eye's !
Think of all the houses that could have been built, for half the money that the Edinburgh council have spent, on this needless venture.
Just my opinion folks !

Although at the moment this service only covers one route running East/West through the centre of Edinburgh it is a fast, quiet, efficient service. It takes you to and from the main shopping centre that is Princess Street with its lovely views of Edinburgh Castle.

(Translated) A wonder and example to follow by other cities where getting from the airport to the city costs you a kidney. For 8.5 pounds round trip you will go in this clean, comfortable and modern tram from the airport to your last stop at York Place where we were staying. The journey takes between 35 to 40 minutes.

(Translated) Extraordinary service from the city center to the airport. The price seems right for the full journey (6 pounds). There is also the round trip option, for 8.5 but I do not know if it is with a return date open or not.
I recommend the tram, no doubt. I hope they put in more cities.
