Had a great time on the boat. I was on crutches but the staff where helpful getting on/off. There are several different levels and seating areas both inside and outside. Can get cold/windy so a wind proof coat or a tie on hat/earmuffs may be useful.
You can take a packup or buy food and drink on board.
Breakfast rolls sold out quickly so I'd recomend getting one straight away if you want one and not wait like I did. Afternoon meal was fish and chips - you can sit in the dining room (it's not fancy- long tables of 8 shared with others like a canteen) or you can have them take away and eat elsewhere onboard. You can have some pints in the bar too. Highlight is you can see the engine room, fascinating to see the huge pistons running. Nice day out thanks.

Only thing that could've made it any better was nicer weather. Will definitely be rebooking.

Proudly Clyde built and launched in 1946, the Waverley is the last sea-going paddle steamer. Excellent cruise and recommended. Only four stars because the food was stodgy and over-priced (fish and chips or bridie and chips were £12.50). Decent selection of drinks in the bar, although spirit measures are 25ml.

As ever, the Waverley is a unique and special experience, sailing on the last Ocean going paddle steamer in the world.
If you get a chance, it's well worth a trip at least one in your life.
It had been about 30 years since I last traveled in the Waverley, and it's just as cool. This time went from Glasgow to Dunoon - fantastic to sail up the Clyde, especially if you've grown up on its shores, but never seen the city from the river itself.
It can be a little boisterous on certain days with stag/hen do's and other "booze cruise" groups (as was ever the case), but if you can get a nice spot up on deck, it'll all calm down soon enough. For less drink heavy passengers, it might be nice to offer a "dry deck" or similar, where drink isn't allowed.
Highly recommended. I hesitate to give the full five due to the aforementioned booze cruisers.

Lovely day out to Ailsa craig courtesy of Volvo truck and bus scotland, very traditional has had an upgrade but all the old features are still there, six hours on board and the whole family loved it, especially up top when the sun came out, (no disabilities catered for unfortunately)

Great value trips, whether a short hop to Greenock or a longer trip to the west coast & islands, loads of seating inside & out, food & drink options, friendly staff on hand.
Can’t recommend it enough

Love going on trips on the PS Waverley summer just isn't the same without her.

This Paddle Steamer was parked beside the Science Museum on the Clyde, I am not sure if this is it's regular spot. It was talking on fuel when I espied it. The Waverley dates to a bygone age when peoples idea of a holiday was 'doon the water ' there was a plethora of this type of craft in those days. I have actually been on a day tour doon the water on here, the main attraction apart from the trip was obviously the bar.

Great experience a must do!

Great day out with my mates definitely a 5 star review but the only downside was the time we had to wait in the Q for the bars. Only one bar was open and only one member of staff serving. They ran out of all draft products and didn't have enough time to put the bottle beers in the fridge so room temperature it was. But the cruise and the views made up for that, would do another!

Really good experience, the kid's loved it, the only thing that spoiled it was the weather

We went to Tighnabruaich on Saturday 7th August. The staff and the trip were second to one. There was only 300 people on the Waverley, which was really good too. Would definitely recommend a tri on the Steamer. Great day out

A daytrip on the Waverley is always a special family experience. We've been enjoying day trips since we were little children, so many happy memories

Claimed to be the last ocean going paddle steamer in the world. Nothing beats taking a trip “doon the watter” onboard the Waverley. Be sure to check out the engine room and marvel at the engineering behind the pistons. Enjoy the marvelous scenery as the ship makes its way past Dumbarton and Greenock as it enters the Firth of Clyde.

An excellent day out. The steamer is amazing. Beautifully restored. The engine room with all the workings to view is just AMAZING. I will definitely be going back again, and again. Loved it

Great day trips but food On board is expensive for families.

Went on it years ago and wanted to return. Unfortunately they don't allow dogs due to a child being bitten on board some years ago. Guide/hearing dogs are allowed of course (apparently they don't bite people).
If (unlike us) you are travelling near Glasgow without a dog, then you really must make time to experience this amazing ship.
I just hope that a child doesn't get bitten by a dog in Glasgow City centre, otherwise dogs will be banned from there as well.
I give 4 stars out of 5, or 8/10, solely based on the silly dog ban (remember, the company wasn't in the wrong over the incident that brought about the ban, the dog owner was, but 2/3 of the residents of Britain now suffer).

The Waverley maybe the last sea going paddle steamer but she is a good way to relax. Not only does she have a dinner and a tea room there is also a souvenir shop a main bar and a small bar and a lounge

I have not been on The Waverley yet.I met three members of the preservation society on a ferry from Ardrossan. The Waverley is a privately run Steamer and I would like very much to take a trip around the Scottish Islands.I first site of the ship was when it visited Oban.I do hope that she will visit Scotland again so that l can steam with her.

The last sea going paddle steamer in the world is a fantastic piece of engineering heritage. Summer trips are very popular so best book in advance.

Was good but..... Went off at a stop where she stopped for an hour and couldn't reboard when I arrived back early and was held with about 60 passengers on the dock for 20 mins in poor weather none of us were happy with this very poor service

My photo shows a 1946 Paddle Steamer moored near the Science Center and Glasgow Tower on the River Clyde. Still seaworthy, she sails down the Clyde to Loch Long and other destinations from May to August.
