Reviews of The Clydeside Distillery
F. R.
Very friendly staff at this distillery and they don't mind if you arrive ridiculously early for your tour in order to avoid the rain. Informative tour - some really interesting stuff about the rise of the whisky industry in Glasgow - but the best bit was the chocolate and whisky. For £30 per person, it's pretty reasonably priced.

Better late than never 😉 even though being in Scotland for more than a week now, we couldn’t visit a distillery yet. The tour here was excellent and our tour guide Adam explained nicely how whiskey is made 🥃 also the little trading at the end of the tour was great with the explanations of the “marriage” 🙃
After the tour we had a light breakfast and the recommended goat cheese sandwich was marvellous 🤩
D. C. (.
The cafe serves very good sourdough sandwiches. Had the avocado bacon and also the haggis sandwich. Both were the best sandwiches on our trip in Scotland.
Whiskey tour high informative and we enjoyed the time Ronnie took to explain and allowed us to find the nuances of the whiskey tasting experience.
Z. B.
Great distillery with amazing Scottish whiskey. The best I had throughout Scotland. I wish I could have taken some home back to the states with me. Highly recommend the tour. We got lucky and were the only 2 on the tour. Sam, our tour guide, was excellent! We had a lot of fun learning more about Scottish whiskey origins in Glasgow.
D. Y.
Carrie-Anne did a wonderful job leading the tour I was on. Very informative and lends a different perspective coming from a younger distillery in the city.
Well worth the 30-minute walk we took from the hotel and a must-see destination if you happen to be in Glasgow.
S. M.
Excellent little distillery tour. Adam conducted ours. He was really friendly, knowledgeable, and open to all manner of stupid questions from non-whisky experts like us. Good value for money with a little taster session included.
g. d.
Austin was really nice, fun and had in depth knowledge about the distillery, the whisky and the history of the area, he put up with my dad's jokes and made the experience memorable. We had a fantastic father's day 😀
A. E.
The Clydeside Distillery, on the queen's Dock, is a great tourist experience. It is a must visit place and you get to experience the actual whisky making process.
The tour was really good thanks to Marco.
S.
A distillery within walking distance from Glasgow City Centre (or a quick train ride if you want).
They offer tours and tastings presented by friendly, knowledgeable staff.
They also have a well stocked shop and cafe.
I. K.
Cool, hip new distillery with friendly staff and a nice vibe. We had the donuts and whisky flight, so we got to choose a preset spread of whiskys that came with a bit of cheese, onion chutney, and oatcakes as a palate cleanser. None of those whiskys are from Clydeside Distillery though, but when we asked to try them they gave us small tasters. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the ambiance as well.
G. G.
Very nice 1h tour. The tour guide had a lot of knowledge and gave a thorough explanation about the whole whisky making process. In the end of the tour you get to taste three whiskies. The cafeteria have some tasty snacks. Well worth a visit
S. K.
We had a fantastic time despite being an hour late to our chocolate and whisky tour. We had missed the tour but arrived just as the group was beginning the chocolate and whisky tasting. Ana Gonzalez, our tour guide and one of the managers of the distillery, is an absolute rockstar! She arranged for us to tag along with the group whisky tasting last minute and offered to give us a quick, private tour of the facilities afterwards. We learned a lot about whisky making and tried a selection of wonderful whiskies during the tasting, but above all we are most grateful for the kind and understanding service! Will not hesitate to recommend visiting this place.
D. A.
The tour is a brilliant way to spend some time & learn about whisky & it's Glasgow history. Greatly informative with a great guide. The whisky tasting was not bad as well. Would highly recommend.
A. W.
I've visited The Clydeside Distillery with my partner; we wanted to learn a bit more about the whisky produced in Glasgow. We took part in a very interesting group tour around the distillery and enjoyed tasting whisky at the end of it. I really liked the way the whisky history is described to the visitors - the exhibition takes you through the distillery process and back in time when making whisky was more popular than gold mining 😅
The facilities are in perfect condition, very well-managed and modern, the shop is well equipped with many unique types of whisky. There is a car park outside, and if you need a charging station for your electric vehicle, you can use the one on the side of Crowne Plaza Glasgow, a few minutes away by walk from the distillery.
Worth to add that our Savannah also enjoyed the facilities, going for a walk around it :D

One cannot visit Glasgow or the river Clyde without making a stop at the Clydeside Distillery.
Our host 'Adam Mennie' was very friendly, a great host, and very knowledgeable about the distillery and the making of whiskey in general.
Had our fair share of a few "wee drams" of topclass Clydeside Whiskey.
S. W.
Fantastic tour, really knowledgable and friendly tour guide (despite him being a Brighton fan!)
Great value for money and would recommend to anyone travelling to Glasgow
B. L.
Went with Dram Fine Whiskey tours and fix the your and tasting Aldi had lunch here. The Cullen skink soup was tasty. Meat and cheese board decent. We enjoyed the haggis ok. Took a long time. We enjoyed the tour however our guide had a very hard accent to understand. It was fun and the view of the river was beautiful from the big windows. Newer distillery so while they have their own items they sell many other older brands
M. V.
We were so delighted when Clydeside Distillery finally opened back up. The cafe has an excellent selection of whisky, hot drinks, and doughnuts from Tantrum Doughnuts. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Cool historic location right on the Clyde.
M. R.
We had an amazing experience here. For me the chocolate desserts were important too. Special thanks for Olga's guidance. 🙂

Sited on the banks of Glasgow's now de-industrialised River Clyde - about halfway between the Riverside Museum and the Exhibition Centre - there lies a former pump house and gate with an interesting past and an even more interesting present.
The Clydeside Distillery (at this point, you'll have figured out that they don't really go in for non-obvious names in this part of the world) is a fully functional whisky manufacturing concern, in a repurposed Victorian-era building.
In addition to the shop/cafe on the ground floor (which are both free to access), visitors can take tours of the facility and experience tasting sessions led by staff members. The former is a great way to learn more about whisky than you ever thought you'd want to know, and the latter is a great way to push that information right out of your brain again.
I highly recommend the chocolate tasting tour (pictured), which pairs each glass of scotch - all originating in a different part of Scotland - with its own dedicated chocolate truffle made locally by a chocolate boutique somewhere in Glasgow (but whose name I've forgotten for obvious reasons).
Special mention goes to our guide, Sam, who was friendly, funny and informative - and none-too-stingy when pouring out samples.
If you can make it there on a clear day, you also get very fine views of the river in both directions, although to be fair the Distillery isn't really responsible for the local weather conditions, so don't hold it against them if this plan doesn't quite come off at first attempt.
Overall 5 stars - would slainte again.
R. D.
Had a lovely tour guide called Carrie-Ann, she was very informative and knowledgeable in the history regarding the distillery and also the whiskys.
Would love to visit again to purchase the exclusive and newly released whisky.
Thank youu!!
C. P. B.
Amazing service unfortunately it's our fault all the tours were booked but we will 100% be back and pre book well in advance. But we spent some time in the shop and had a few wee drams and the whisky glased doughnuts in the cafe highly recommend them. The lady in the shop was exceptional great knowladge and all round great customer service. Highly recommend a visit when in Glasgow even if it is just for food.
K. W.
If you like lowland, smokey, peeted Whisky then this is the place. Cafe on site and gift shop to grab a Clydeside embossed gift for memory sake or a for that Whisky drinker who couldn't make it.
J. J. A. L.
The tour is very good and with lots of information. In addition, our tour guide Rose was excellent and very thoughtful.

Having never previously visited this Distillery, we attended a wedding held within the distillery, which I must report was “First Class”
The staff employed at the distillery are so friendly and helpful, which all added to a great wedding experience !
The main wedding meal was delicious and the presentation was good.
Well done to all the Staff in attendance at the wedding reception, who are obviously an asset to this company.....!
B. F.
Excellent tour! I was extremely happy with all the tastings we had. I was impressed, especially since they haven't been around that long. Even at a young age the whiskies were full of character!
C. W.
A very modern distillery, which has only been producing whisky since 2018. If you have never visited a distillery you will learn a lot about the process of whisky making. But it lacks the character of an older distillery. We had Andy as our guild, we were his first ever tour! He was enthusiastic and knowledge.
N. M.
Interesting local and brewing history. Clean bright facility. Cafe onsite was pleasant but small with tasty food offerings. Our guide was entertaining and informative. The tour involves stairs and whisky tastings. This is a stop along the hop on/hop off bus tour.
S. T.
Very informative and interesting tour given by Ronny, who also had a great sense of humour!
For £15, you get the tour, a 2 whisky tasting (plus a taste of the new make spirit), and as a bonus, you get to keep your tasting glass! It's a size smaller than the standard Glencairn glass, but it's still a brilliant touch to have this included.
All in all a great experience, and thank you Ronny for bringing it to life!
H. C.
We only did the Cafe, walk ins accepted. Jestin served us. He was very helpful and informative. We tried the whisky flights with the trio of doughnuts which was amazing. Full marks. Tours are carrying on. Shop was full of every type of whisky imaginable
J. S.
Chocolate and Whisky Tour with Cameron was very nice - we learned a lot about Whisky and had a lot of fun.
Thank you very much Cameron
m. m.
This is the best tour of a distillery we've been on , it's young and small. The guide was excellent. He made it easy to understand and fun, the explanation of the of the different whisky was good.
D.
Highly recommend a tour of the Clydeside Distillery and a tasting of their whiskey. They have a great story of not only their history but the history of Scottish whiskey. We were fortunate enough to be toured by Marcos. He was a wealth of knowledge as well as entertaining.
H. M.
Atticus was 12/10 on the tour. Lovely little stop.
W. T.
Great tour! Annie was a very knowledge guide. The chocolate and whiskey tasting was great! The cafe has great food as well. I recommend the haggis bon bons! They are amazing!
T. M.
Informative, eye opening and full of expertise of the larger scotch industry past and present. Caz was a great guide also, she brightened up the Clyde on a winters day! Whisky was lovely also.
K. S. K.
We got the tour which was great and well designed. The people are very nice and service minded. Good experience if you want to try some lowland whisky.
I. C.
Hi. I came in with Adrian Mc today and was completely blown away with how well you looked after us. Atticus was the best...very informative and highly entertaining. Thanks to all the staff for making it a great few hours. Hope to be back with friends soon...oh and the whisky was awesome too.
M. B.
Despite not being especially into whiskey, I went as I had taken an interest in home brewing, the tour was interesting and informative, and the staff were nice. Was a great experience, 10/10 would recommend visiting
L. J.
Went there for the whiskey tasting. Was a great experience
E. N.
It was a really nice experience to be a part of this tour. Special thanks to our guide Marcos, who knows how to entertain.
C. C.
The Distillery Tour led by Marcos was a blast. He was very knowledge, personable, and funny. Highly recommend to those visiting like ourselves, or that live here!
G. M.
The distillery tour is great value for money. Somewhat of a whistle-stop tour of this small distillery - Cameron was a very funny and informative guide and getting to keep our glasses was a lovely bonus.
R. F.
New distillery with nice river view in still room is the key of this place. Professional staffs are very nice and helpful. Clydeside distillery finally got their own single malts whisky this year for group whisky tasting.
S. F.
I have been to many distilleries but I thought this one was a very good one to make time to see. I learned a lot of new things about the Glasgow shipyards and the Whisky trade in the city and port. I also loved that you can keep the dram glass! Our guide was very personable and friendly as well.
D. P.
Cracking distillery on Glasgow's historic and beautiful Clydeside. Built inside the stunningly renovated Old Pumphouse, the distillery mixes the old with the new, creating quite a unique visitor experience.
Having been founded in 2017, the distillery has none of its own single malt to show off yet (stay tuned!), but offers a wide range of whiskies from across Scotland in its bottle shop, as well as small bottles of their own new make spirit.
Tours are hourly, and are in-depth, informative and fun - led as they are by folk like the lovely Michael who took our group through the distillery.
Get on down and take in the sights of one of Glasgow's newest distilleries, and drink a wee bit of history in the making.
R. R.
Probably the best distillery tour I’ve been to, and a great introduction to both scotch and the whisky barons. The distillery is new and so they don’t have any of their own whisky yet but you get your money’s worth for sure. Ronnie was a great guide
A. H.
Brilliant young distillery, informative and engaging tour and dram tasting. Shop is well stock with a variety of whiskies, the handfill is reasonably priced.
B. D.
We had the pleasure of big Marcos taking us on tour, was absolutely brilliant and his enthusiasm and knowledge made the tour even better. Highly recommend
K. “. C.
Really enjoyable experience with a very knowledgeable tour guide in Ronnie Grant. Was able to answer questions and clearly knew his stuff. The tour lasted about an hour with a taste of three ten year old malts.
Ronnie explained the tasting technique and advised us not to knock it back explaining why. Unfortunately one of the tour kept knocking it back where Ronnie educated him in the errors he was making.
The selection of bottled whiskeys were vast and unfortunately quite out of my price range (one scoping £2650) but I'm sure people will make their own choices.
Tend to do this type of tour wherever I go and this did not disappoint.
Didn't sample the cafe food unfortunately as we had something else booked.
G. T.
Brilliant distillery in the heart of Glasgow.
Very pretty new distillery built in the old tower for the swing Bridge to what was Queen's Dock.
Great venue, great staff that were friendly & very knowledgeable!
They do not have their own whisky as they have only just opened. But have links to other distilleries so they have a Lowland, Highland & an Islay to try.
You can buy a wide range of whiskies in the shop, along with own young male spirit. (white whisky before it's aged in barrels)
Definately worth a visit
R. S.
We had a great time at this distillery doing a whisky and chocolate pairing. It was so interesting to taste the differences when eating different chocolates. It was a bit of a shame that we couldn't have any of the whisky actually made there. It was a good tour though and very interesting.
D. A.
Ambiance: 4/5
Service:4.5/5
Value for Money: 3.5/5
Food and Drinks: 4.5/5
Food variety of food and whiskey. I would not have been here had it not been for the HOP ON HOP OFF city bus. So the only disappointment for some could be the location.
We could not unfortunately do the whiskey distillery tour due to the lack of time but the cafe took care of my mother and I well.
M. B.
Lovely place! Excellent situation beside the Clyde and handy for many other interesting Glasgow destinations.
The new make spirit was only casked just before Christmas 2017 so a while yet before even a glimmer of their own whisky but the shop is very well stocked indeed! I recommend the 'mystery' Islay 10yo that scored highly with Serge Valentin.
Highly recommended :)
G. L.
Absolutely great visit. We had Cameron as a guide. He was very informative and had a sense of humour.
T. B.
Walking passed The Clydeside Distillery and thought would check it out. popped in for coffee & tea must admit the prices were cheap for tourist attraction. There is also tours of the distillery costa around £15:00 adult and £5:00 kids. the distilery has wheelchair access and lifts. well worth visit also has gift shop.
H. K.
Great tour, nice whisky
C. &. J.
The Clydeside Distillery is hidden away on the side of the busy A814 road, situated in an old pump house. My partner and I chanced upon it more by accident than design. We were greeted by an eager young man who insisted on giving us his pitch even as we drifted away from him into the gift shop. The distillery has not been there long, so we were unsurprised to note there were very few Clydeside-branded products for sale. Instead, there are dozens of other well-known whisky brands lining the shelves, making it feel more like a standard whisky shop than a living, breathing distillery.
D. W.
We did the whiskey and chocolate tour with Sam and had a great time. He was a lot of fun and we were super happy with the whole experience.
C. B.
Very friendly tour, and really interesting, as a driver I couldn't sample the whisky so they gave me some to take home and try, brilliant
O. C.
It's a new distillery and the experience is OK, could benefit to have a local guide to give it more authenticity.
T. F.
Amazing place for whisky lover! Small distillery with a good future
C. S.
Austin was our tour guide July 2022. It was a good basic tour about the history of the area, how Scotch - Whiskey is made, and finished with a tasting of some Clydeside Scotch/Whiskey. We enjoyed the tour and thought it was worth the time and money (for adults who drink Scotch or Whiskey)
J. R.
Great venue, great staff, great tour, great whiskey, brilliant shop. Thanks to all the staff for hosting us last weekend.
P. F.
Fantastic place with great staff and really good cafe, the whisky isn't bad either. Well worth the visit.
K. P.
Presentation was good but the tour was too touristy.
J. M.
The one hour tour and tasting is excellent value and very informative. Our tour guide today, Ronnie, was very engaging and knowledgeable. Great experience.
R. H.
Really cool new whiskey distillery in Glasgow. Really enjoyed the tour by Rose and learnt a lot about whiskey and production. Highly recommend the tour and tasting options!
J. z.
We had a lovely and interesting tour. All our questions were answered and if you like whisky you should definitely go
A. K.
Absolutely fantastic tour and tasting. Would highly recommend. Tour guide really knew his stuff and the relaxed atmosphere meant questions were always welcome.
E. H.
Enjoyed a great tour with Marcos! He was very entertaining, passionate and informative, and let us sample some great scotch.
S. R.
Fantastic wee place, 1st visit back for food since covid, was always great, soup n a sandwich etc. Still do it and more, the scottish platter is delish. Spoke to lizzy, a Fantastic staff member and very knowledgeable
C. W.
Highlight of our trip to Glasgow. The 1 hour tour is excellent value and the nicest people in the world work here. I wasn't into whisky before I visited, and I left with a new appreciation! Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
R. K.
The tour was informative, fun and highly recommended. Best part was the tasting at the end and they even give you a discount at the end!
B. S.
The tour was fantastic! Ronny was very knowledgeable and provided great tips for drinking whisky. I would definitely reommend going on a tour!
B. R.
Great tours, interesting history of the space itself. If lowlands are your thing, be sure to stop in. On site Cafe seemed popular and looked appealing but did not eat.
A. N.
Incredibly interesting tour, delicious and very reasonably priced food. The shop has lots of unusual whiskies. Highly recommended for all the family.
M. H.
Fantastic experience and extremely knowledgeable staff. Even if you have no interest in Single Malt Whiskey. It's a very good tour
S. W.
What a great addition to Glasgow. Coffee shop is also lovely with excellent coffee. Nice to see that the shop sells a wide range of products from various distilleries
B. N.
Rose our guide was excellent. The tour was very informative and great value for money. Would thoroughly recommend it.
S. R.
Great experience, really friendly staff and great value. Thanks to Marcos for the great tour too
P. R.
It was an interesting place to visit and to know more about how the whisky is made. The tour was gas
R. M.
Myself and Melissa had a fantastic and very informative Distillery Managers Tour with Alistair, the Whisky selection and Doughnuts are well worth the price of the tour, looking forward to seeing more Clydeside Distillery Whisky to buy in the future.
Cheers Alistair and your fantastic team.
C. S.
Great tour thank you Marcos excellent guild even though he has only been doing it for a couple of weeks 😀
E. B.
I didn't have the time to go and take a tour, but heard good reviews about that. On the outside, the building is impressive. If you have the time and money, do take the a tour.
L. H.
Went in for food, stayed for the tour! It was great, lovely place with amazing friendly and helpful staff. All wheelchair accessible.
M. M.
We visited the distillery over Christmas and had a great time. We were between the ages of 24-76, some whiskey lovers some not, and all of us enjoyed the cafe, tour and tasting. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere, I wished we'd come a bit earlier to have a wee drink before the tour cause they have a great selection.
Our tour guide Erin was really knowledgeable about the history of the area, which was great for my parents who are from Glasgow. The tour was informative, well organized and fun, Erin got the group talking to each other and having a laugh. She did a good job explaining the different types of whiskey in the tasting room and giving us time to ask questions.
Their own whiskey isn't available yet, but if the enthusiasm of the employees we interacted with is anything to go by then their own product will be impressive.
Highly recommend a visit, but allow yourself time for a drink and a walk around the well stocked shop.
A. W.
Good experience, young distillery on the rise, Austin was our guide and was knowledgeable. Tasting was excellent.
J. P.
From start to finish a fabulous experience. Building good staff pleasant, curtious, knowledgeable.
K. R.
Nice distillery – good whiskey taste – very very good service! We had the tasting plate, very good, delicious looking and nice taste. I tasted the «Moonraker flight» – very good whiskey taste...
D. R.
You don't need to be a whisky enthusiast to enjoy the distillery. The have an amazing café serving soup, sandwiches, scones etc. Well worth a visit.
A. F.
Great distillery. A very cool building with a nice cafe and staff. A great day out.
G. P.
Really impressed with the setup the videos really good and a great explainer on the business and marketing behind Whisky.
I. C.
Went with friends to see one off before he went off on travels back in December 2019 (Sorry to the staff for not posting sooner as thought I had done so already). We had a great tour and tasting experience (will be great to taste the first batch once ready) the staff are all knowledgeable and friendly no question was too much hassle and as myself and friends love a wee dram this definitely was a great experience. Highly recommended for anyone local and visitors from further to come and check out. Also check out their shop as they have a great selection to suit from beginners to experienced whisky drinkers and I'm sure they will be able to recommend to newbies as well
O. B.
Good selection of malts, reasonably priced tours. Cafeteria and Scotch whiskey /souvenir shop.
T.
I did the Distillery Tour with Austin and he explained everything really good and it was funny
E. W.
Had a fantastic time at the distillery tour very informative and very friendly
Had a guided tour with the manager Alistair made you feel at home would 100% recommend this tour to anybody interested in Glasgows part in Whiskey
A. R.
Such a wonderful tour! Everyone who works here is extremely informative and helpful! Patrick gave the tour and was the right amount of enthusiasm yet still laid back. Ana at the whiskey tasting/retailer was absolutely amazing! So much knowledge and insight on whisky. As soon as she knew what we liked she was able to recommend and let us test out many wonderful whiskeys that we had never head of before! I was a bit concerned as they are a new distillery but was very happy with the whole experience! It's a different view as they are new which I only think as a positive! Definitely recommend this to anyone in the Glasgow area looking for a distillery to visit.
A. C.
Lovely tour and our guide Austin super friendly!!!
M. M.
Excellent whisky tour, the young man we had was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question with ease. Unfortunately we were unable to make it to the whisky tasting side of the tour because I accidentally fainted. The staff dealt with the situation fantastically and made sure i was ok before leaving. One of the tour guides also packed us up some of the whisky samples so we did not miss out. I would highly recommend visiting and will hopefully manage to finish the tour next time I visit Glasgow.
D. M.
The tour felt a bit rushed. Wasn't a fan of the new make spirit but the two sherry finish and bourbon finish drams were nice, albeit quite young tasting (although it is only a 3 year whisky).
V. W.
' have been a regular visitor here with a client who likes a wee dram. Staff are welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic about the distillery. When it increases it's opening hours and food choices it will be a must visit.
R. T.
Nice space, but as one other reviewer commented feels more like a whisky shop or a tourist attraction than an actual working distillery. Tours seemed rushed and whole experience seemed a little gimmicky and inauthentic.
S. M.
Great tour and the staff were incredibly helpful!
S. B.
Loved the tour! Learnt about Whiskey legs and its finish. The initial video with the thick Scottish accent was epic! Couldn’t do without subtitles and they knew it so they had it!
E. K.
A modern Distillery with a nice atmosphere. Nice staff and the best whisky glaced donut i ever ate!! Go there before you fly home!
O. J.
Very interesting distillery. Includes a well-stocked store, a 45 minute tour (including lots of information, exhibits, and videos), and a taste of 3 scotches. Tour guides and exhibits contained plentiful information about the origins of whiskey and the various derivations. Highly recommended.
Note: Distillery is relatively new (2017), so they aren't serving their own whiskey until 2020. However it was built on an old industrial site so there is some historical connection.
D. M. N.
Excellent tour. Lots of interesting history on the local area, the history of whiskey in Glasgow and how the distilling process works. Nice tasting session to finish. Special thanks to tour guide Jesmey who was knowledgeable, friendly and clearly has a passion for whiskey and the distillery. Will certainly be recommending to any friends or family traveling to Glasgow in the future.
P.
Phenomenal tour. Allistair and his staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming
C. C.
Beautiful facility with a very friendly and gracious staff.
The cafe is good to drop by for a quick bite before hitting the distillery tour.
The whisky shop has an excellent selection and the staff is very knowledgeable. Don't hesitate to describe what your looking for and let them help you find a bottle that's just right.
G. W.
I rarely give a business/location on Google Maps a five stars rating before, but The Clydeside Distriller got one today! The staff was the best when it comes to customer service and making you feel welcome to their establishment. We didn’t get a chance to take the tour but certainly took advantage of their recommendations and bought a few local brands. We also enjoyed a flight of some really good brands of Scotch whisky in the cafe. Since it’s a new distillery, none of their brand was available at this time so I plan to order some in a few years when it’s ready. Thanks again for the nice slice chocolate cake for my birthday!!
O. G.
Neat whisky shop and excellent cafe, with great food and many quality whiskies on offer. And the service couldn't be better!
K. M.
had a wonderful time today at the Clydeside Distillery - the hosts/guides were incredibly hospitable and friendly, the information is well compiled and interesting, and I found my new favorite whisky!
i. h.
Enjoyed our whisky flights and excellent service by friendly staff
B. C. E.
What a great place to visit! If you fancy a dram or a visit of the distillery - please go ahead. Staff extremely kind and knowledgeable.
K. V.
Fantastic informative tour of the facility, history of whisky, the process, and the differences of the whisky produced. Great value for money with the tastings at the end and free gift. Our guide was personable and able to answer any questions along the way!
S.
A pleasant one hour tour of the Clydeside Distillery of the process of making whisky and a whisky tasting at the end of the tour.
B. B.
I would recommend to take the guided tour (book in advance!), which is very informative. They also offer a quite wide variety of whiskeys from other distilleries in the shop (they only opened up in 2017, hence their product is not ready yet), and the staff is very friendly and helpful when it comes to answering questions or giving recommendations.
P. d. P.
Fantastic tour showing you the history of whisky in Glasgow and how it is made, ending with a tasting of three single malts. Not a commercial tourist trap pushing their own product. A lovely exposure of all whiskies, resulting also in a wide variety of whisky of different brands in their shop.
P. W.
Very friendly staff and great tour. The chocolate and whisky pairing was spectacular!
D. M. S.
Really informative. Try to reach before 4 pm to join the last tour.
K. A.
Very helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Great food in their cafe.
S. K.
Nice new distillery in perfectly restored building. Enjoy the views over the Clyde while you enjoy your whisky. Excellent tour and friendly staff. Hope their whisky is a success when it comes out.

Just went for a lunch after visiting the transport museum. Four adults and three children. Had the Scottish tasting platters and soups. Super friendly staff, very child friendly and good quality food. Really great service. Decent value for money as well.

I wasn't much of a whiskey man before visiting but my pal really wanted to go - the tour was really interesting, informative and the guide was really friendly, knowledgeable and engaging, the highlight had to be the tasting though, I ended up buying a couple of bottles to take home, excellent way to spend an afternoon.

This is a brand new distillery. So it can only improve. It will develop it's character over the years, as it starts to to release it's own product.
Building and location are great. Steeped in history. From a historical point of view, this is a great attraction. The museum gives a great insight into the history of Scottish whisky and the role Glasgow had in making it a world renowned product.
The distillery itself, is fairly small. I feel, it lacks depth. A lot of this comes down to the fact thay it has just opened. The actual distillery part of the tour is over very quickly. There is a quick presentation of the process, then you are walked through it. I have seen the tour presented a lot better in other distilleries. In saying that, our tour guide displayed a good, keen knowledge of whisky and it's processes. He was very friendly and approachable.
The tasting session was informative, comfortable, without that pretentious feeling you get in some tours. However, as it's brand a new distillery, you can't taste the Clydeside whisky yet. So they opted for a range of other whiskys from across Scotland. Which, if I am honest, could have been better. Appeared nearly a bit cheap. I believe, on speaking to staff there is a plan to get a range of 10 year whiskys from across Scotland for you to try. Which I'm hoping would be a lot better.
The shop at the end. Every distillery needs one. However, I feel this is pretty pointless. Nothing compels you to buy a whisky here. Every whisky on offer, you can easily get on line or your local super market and cheaper, with a few marquee bottles, as an exception, which the average person cannot afford. Each whisky would appear to have a mark up of £10 to £20. Making it a lot less desirable. With your tour ticket you get a 5% discount. Which again has no real benefit, with such a mark up. There are a few quirky blends which may be worth the purchase, simply based on the entertaining labels.
In all, the staff are very friendly, the building is and location are great. There is a lot of improvement to made with the distiller, which will come with age, like any good whisky. I did enjoy the experience and do look forward to coming back but probably after a good few years.
F. M.
My partner and I visited the cafe and shop and decided to go back for the whisky and chocolate tour. It was absolutely fantastic, Shawna was so friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It is well worth a visit! Thank you Shawna and Clyseside Distillery!
E. B.
Had a nice tour in the destillery and a good guide

Great visit lovely people and a lovely place to visit and fantastic whisky

Since1925 has a family business of whisky and continued with gleaming new contemporary Single Malt Distillery on the bank of the Clyde. in Glasgow and blending the old with the new. Here we can learn about whisky 'S journey from illicit stills to a world wide export through this Distillery. Their spectacular Blender's Room is available for bespoke experience, too.you canspend time in the Cafe and feast upon Scotland 'S other produce from the region. The range of whisky from minimum of 10 years to as long as 60years old u will find for your shipping here. It was very very memorable educative experience.

What a great place to visit, pass by every day on way to work so decided to drop in last weekend with a friend who was visiting. Everyone was so welcoming & informative I would say this is the best tour I have done & from a company that has only been open for 18 months. Please don't change a thing you have got the balance just right 👍👍👍
Also I would like to mention Bridgeen Mullen the center manager was hanging coats up for customers & still had time to talk to us customers,so she was on the shop floor supporting her staff. Well done all
S. Y.
A must go to place to take your friends who are in town or for just a nice date with friends! Lizzy one of the employees there, has been amazing to me and the friends and family I bring! The distillery has only been open since the fall but staff really knows what they are doing! 5 starts hands down!
S. M.
We went for a dram not the tour and the staff was very nice and helpful! Great venue right on the river too

The tour absolutely exceeded my expectations. Get informative and their whisky is really nice.
M. H.
Quality food, with an amazing selection of the best Scotch Whisky. The tour was tremendous run by very knowledgeable enthusiastic staff....well worth the entrance fee and well worth a visit.
T. H.
Tour was great and whiskey tasting was amazing
J.
Nice staff, nice building, but the tour overall is unimpressive. Somehow it is missing that magical genius loci.
D. v. G.
Great and fun whisky tour!
В. Ф.
Had an overall pleassant experience at Clydeside. Only thing wish they had at the premises and showed during the tour was barrel storage and malt drying area. I think they might outsource it. I think other disstillery such as Glengoyne might provide more of a indepth experience, however Clydeside is right in the city centre with easy access via tour bus, so this was the deciding factor.
V. m.
Nice Distillery to visit, good location and an interesting choice of whiskey tasters with chocolate
S. E.
Did the excellent tour with whisky tasting at the end. Very good whisky
E. T.
Good food in the restaurant and excellent service, friendly staff.
G. M.
Now open from Wednesday onwards for tours etc. Excellent coffee and you have to grab a doughnut or two.
S. S.
The tour was a bit boring, the place is nice, the tasting is good, but tour wise not enjoyable... I was expecting some explanation from the guide, they played a short movie, there are displayed boards with many information, but honestly I prefer guided tours...
T. T.
Interesting expression of a whiskey
Distillery. Interesting 1 hour

Excellent tour and tasting. Our guide Ronnie was great, as were all the staff making us feel very welcome. Recommended :-)

A very nice experience: a complete and clear distillery visit ending with a taste of three wee drams, a shop with a wide range of whiskies, a cafeteria with good food (non much choice but good), and professional and very friendly staff... And everything in the very heart of Glasgow... Amazing!!
A. L.
Excellent cafe with home made food. We had a sandwich & soup which was really good served by friendly staff. No time for the distillery tour sadly.

We had booked the CHOCOLATE & WHISKEY TOUR and were more than satisfied. Our guide explained everything to us very nicely and the whiskey and chocolate were also excellent. Since the distillery is still very young, there is so far 4-year-old Scotch, but this does not need to hide in any way. At the tasting there is therefore a selection from the different regions of Scotland.

(Translated) Some things were told in English, it was somewhat easy to follow, otherwise you couldn't see much than a few boilers. So the tour offered little. Drinking coffee is also quite expensive here.
(Original)

(Translated)
Too many people are taken on one tour for my taste. It is therefore very narrow and the tour guide difficult to understand. The building and the production are still very nice to look at. Also the tasting with paired tasting of chocolate was good. However, I would recommend that you opt for distilleries that offer tours with fewer people.

Kann man also gerne mal mitmachen.

We took part in a one hour tour led by Marcos. He was very entertaining and was reasonably easy to understand despite his accent. His enthusiasm was definitely contagious. We were full, which was almost a few too many people. But all in all okay, space-wise it worked. I personally don't like whiskey but my husband enjoyed the tour and tasting. So you're welcome to take part. We were even given the glasses after the tour.

(Translated) Very young distillery, they haven't released their first whiskey yet. The distillery is magnificent, the visit interesting. The guide was passionate, and knew how to convey his interest to us. A plus of the visit compared to other distilleries and learning to taste a whiskey.
For £ 15, you taste 3 whiskey (from other distilleries) and the tasting glass is free!
This advice was given in comparison to other distilleries as part of a visit by 12 of them in two weeks. Here is the breakdown of opinions: 4x5 *, 4x4 *, 3x3 *, 1x2 *.

(Translated) Very nice distillery, small so do not expect an old distillery, they launched their first whiskeys recently.
But the visit was very nice made by Becky!
Tasting where you take the time to share your feelings about the 2 whiskeys and the Spirit.
(Original)

(Translated) The distillery experience was pleasant, also thanks to our guide Becky. However, the visit was not very interactive and resembled a simple lesson, with many, too many things to read, especially in the area dedicated to the history of whiskey production. The passage close to the actual distillers and the final tasting of the whiskey is very interesting.
An experience that I recommend to whiskey enthusiasts.
Separate note for the great bar: whiskey hot chocolate was great, as were whiskey buns.
(Original)
