R. W.Amazing customer service - two days before departure we had to cancel our trip due to a close family member of us getting very sick. Instead of the trip to sardegna we had to go to take care of the family - I got a call back from the same day with the offer to park the ticket until december 2023. As I def. want to do the trip this offer was great. The customer service was fast, efficient, empathic towards our situation and really helpful.

The ship is nice, clean, with lots of good restaurants and a huge free shop where you can find lots of affordable presents for your relatives and friends.

C.Actually booking the new ferry was so simple, but I had been trying all day to amend the first booking and it was murder, so much so that I actually ran over the deadline to amend, our car broke down while we were travelling to the port, our other ferry Brittany ferries were very good and helpful and amended it for £25 but I had to make a fresh booking of £150 one way, with direct ferries which I haven’t taken kindly to I’m afraid

A. S.Generally the booking process is intuitive, smooth and easy. All fine, until you pay. Because only AFTER you paid, you suddenly find out that a €3.99 service fee is added to your purchase. No, nobody needs to work for free, but a bit of transparency would be appreciated.

J. P.There is an administration fee that is in addition to the fare but this is not transparent and only shows after one has gone through the shipping selection.
Also, one gets a booking confirmation but the ticket is supposed to follow when "check-in is open". But it's not clear when this is as one might not be able to access the internet when the check in opens. It would be more comforting to know that one could have the ticket before one started one's trip.
A detail: although one can find the information in Help it's not clear what one should put in the car registration field if on does not know it at the time one is keying in the booking request details (as applies when one is hiring a car). And it does not say clearly how this should be provided when it is known. I tried to go back into the booking to see if the car registration was an editable field but I could not establish that it was.

C. J.I have just placed a booking to travel to Spain with Brittany Ferries. The Direct Ferries website is not as easy to use as Brittany Ferries and currently does not offer you the range of tickets available with Brittany Ferries. It is also not so easy to work out the accommodation options, as there is not so much information readily available. Hopefully this will improve in time. Providing you use the online system it would appear that you can make changes without fees. Sadly if you telephone their customer services office, which is virtually impossible to get through to at the moment, you incur charges for making amendments to your booking, which seems harsh. Presumably this is to encourage customers to us the online service.

We had a voucher to use from April 2020 but due to an error on our end with re-booking & adding Club Lounge Access to our return trip, we forgot to use our voucher.
A quick phone call has now sorted this out.
Helder was so helpful & understanding.
We can now have our first Christmas in Ireland with our family thanks to Helder & Direct Ferries.

I did make a mistake in the date from my reservation (July instead of June). Haven’t seen this mistake before my reservation was confirmed!
I did try to change it and in the Internet page it's written I had to make a new booking, … So, I do this with the right date!
When I come back to my first reservation for managing and cancel it, I received this message: "Unfortunately this ticket cannot be cancelled or amended. If you would like to travel on another date, please make a new booking."
I was thinking it's not fair and I was afraid to lose 300 euros 5 months before my trip!
I did explain that on my comments about reservation.
Fortunately, Direct Ferries call me back and they find a great solution for me!!
So, I think Direct Ferries is really a good company and I'm sorry for the apologise!

I was exactly 45 minutes in advance for the ferry before the one I booked for. I was the very first car parked in the ferry and the very first leaving.
I enjoyed free coffee/tea/hot chocolate/fruit juice/champaign/water, Macarons, mignardises, and fruit in a quiet, empty and comfortable premium lounge during my travel, for a not expensive cost.
I recommend you to add the parking priority and the premium lounge to have a best travel, cheaper than the shuttle.
P. D.Disappointed the price for the booking rose during the confirmation process and bewildered by the assumption a 'Senior' would not be making a booking and the presumed age was 18-59. Other than that an excellent hassle free process. Well Done!

When ordering several legs, for example betweern islands in Greece, you need to go through full procedure and payment for each leg in stead of adding to a shopping basket and paying when all bookings are done. Takse a lot of time.
