Trip of a lifetime to celebrate Retirement and our 60th Birthday! Johnny's planning and attention to detail were exceptional, enabling us simply to relax and enjoy Argentina in complete confidence. Locations, transfers, guides, hotels, transport, food and wine were all excellent. From Buenos Aires with the amazing tango show to the beautiful glaciers in Patagonia via the incomparable waterfalls at Iguazu, and the wineries of Cafayate, everyone was welcoming and we had so many unforgettable experiences.

Retirement celebration - a month in Peru. Trip of a lifetime, and, arranged with Johnny, impossible to better! Johnny deserves more than 5 stars; a galaxy would be about right. Right from the first contact he took lots of trouble to be sure that I got what I wanted and then embellished it. Machu Pichu was on my To See list, and as I was going to S America a visit to the Amazon was on there too. I returned having stayed in a wonderful series of hotels and lodges, all of whom knew Johnny, ditto the excellent guides (specially chosen) and locations way beyond expectations. In fact, the only slight disappointment was Machu Pichu: far too busy. Nights on a private island in Lake Titicaca, the glories of Araquipa, condors circling overhead, and a week with my own guide in a remote Amazon lodge: happiness beyond words. Thank you Johnny. Now about the Amazon...

In September 2017, my wife and I enjoyed a fabulous three week holiday in Peru. It was organised by Jonathan Ogilvie and arranged to meet our specific requirements. Jonathan put together an incredible trip which was much admired by fellow tourists we met in Peru. On our tour we visited Lima, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca(Puno), Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Machu Pichu and the Amazon. Every aspect of the tour was excellent with accommodation, local guide services and hotel staffall excellent. Transfers worked like clockwork. Really very good indeed. We stayed in a variety of hotels, all interesting in their own way and all providing excellent service. They ranged from five star Libertador in Puno with stunning views over Lake Titicaca, to the incredibly scenic Colca Lodge (complete with its own private hot springs) to the great rooms we had in the El Mapi in Aguas Calientes, the very personal boutique Casa San Blas in Cusco and the amazing Refugio Amazonas where open air living takes on a new meaning.
Even when an injury prevented us from doing the Inca Trail, alternative accommodation and transfers were quickly and efficiently organised by local guides who could not do enough to help. Following Jonathan's expert advice, I feel that we got the best out of our visit to Peru, covering the majority of the main tourist sites but also having ample opportunity to sample local culture at our on pace. Altitude sickness was never a problem for us as our itinerary was designed to have gradual increases in height allowing us plenty of time to acclimatise.
Jonathan covered every one of our requests and although this tour was "bespoke" in that it was put together to suit us , it is a tour I would heartily reccommend to anyone who wants to see as many of Peru's incredible sites as possible. Well done to Jonathan and all of the staff who helped to put our holiday together. We would definitely use this tour organiser and company again.

True Experts! Cannot recommend these guys enough- Johnny is a star. There is nothing he doesn't know about this region and nothing is too much trouble. We are just back from the most INCREDIBLE trip to the Galapagos. We had a magical week on the most beautiful boat exploring the islands. The trip was everything we hoped and more. We had a week in Peru afterwards which was amazing, we could never have arranged anything like this on our own. Johnny arranged the best guides, rooms and had fantastic insightful tips for each of our destinations. Most importantly he was always on hand should we have any issues. Our bags didn't arrive off one of our flights and Johnny moved mountains to get them to us the next day. This is our second trip South America Odyssey and it won't be our last. Thank you Johnny!

FANTASTIC! Johnny and his team from South America Odyseey will plan you the perfect, flawless, predictable vacation. Johnny took the time to outline us a trip catered to our specific needs, made us feel comfortable and confident, and went above and beyond to make sure he was completely aligned with what we were looking for. He has vast knowledge of the geography; which is rare for a travel agent to be able to speak to all activities and accommodations from experience! Johnny is very transparent with expectations and pricing and will do his best to accommodate you and your travel agenda. I would HIGHLY recommend South America Odyssey. One final note, we also had a tremendously positive experience with South Africa Odyssey a few years back. You won't find a more competent or dependable group of travel agents!

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday organised by Johnny Ogilivie and South America Odyssey. From the start of planning, Johnny could not have been more helpful and accommodating in our requirements. We had one major hiccup whilst out there, when we failed to meet up with our transfer driver, but thank goodness for Johnny back in London, who managed to get us back on course without too much hassle. It does just prove how invaluable it is to have someone like Johnny sitting on a phone when things do go wrong! I would highly recommend him and South America Odyssey. They are knowledgeable and professional, and just as important flexible to the individual needs.

Our second vacation with Odyssey travels was exceptional. Johnny Ogilby was always on hand to handle all of our questions (of which there were many) with authority & experience. We both felt in very safe hands throughout the booking process. We did speak to a few companies about organising the trip, but ultimately it was too hard to compete with the professional approach, the deep firsthand knowledge and Johnny’s logical approach. We can’t praise this company highly enough and will continue to wax lyrical about the team at South America Odyssey.

Johnny and his team did a wonderful job planning a trip that met all our requests- and we had a lot! Unfortunately, the airfare from the US to our destination made it impossible for us to take the trip at this time. We've traveled with Tanzania Odyssey before and had an excellent vacation- I'm sure this would have been the same. Maybe next year!
