Reviews of City Sightseeing Oxford

We had a great time doing the bus tour. Good explanation during the tour.
The bus tour also includes a walking tour in Oxford city center.
Our tour guide, Pete, took us around the city center, and explained about the city history very well. What a fantastic tour! Highly recommended if you visit Oxford. 😃👍

Great way to see and hear about Oxford, buses run regularly, every 15 minutes during the summer, however there was a delay due to traffic, but this was well publicised in advance.
Access to usb charging points on the bus, great idea first time I’ve seen this and should be common across this sector.
Tour takes approx 60 minutes and bus was spotlessly clean. There is a walking tour included in the price, but I didn’t do this, but Oxford is a great place for exploring on foot..
Good parking facilities within the shopping centre and reasonably priced.

Arrived at train station and saw open top bus immediately, thought we would jump on and so glad we did.
Jumped on and off which is great as you can visit which ever site you want.
On one bus we had a live guide (Greg) and he was great very knowledgeable about his home city.
Would highly recommend.

Great tour with the appropriate amount of info one would expect.
My fiancé and I were thinking how nice it would have been if the busses were fully electric and half the length as well as with just ONE deck albeit lightly elevated (between the lower and upper decks as the busses have now). It would certainly make it easier for the drivers to navigate the narrow streets of Oxford (and other cities).

-Nice bus driver
-Decent prices
-Informative headphone tour
-Not the best City Sightseeing tour I have done, but still worth it
-Relatively clean and tidy bus

The tour was good and very interesting. A great way to see and get around oxford. There is walking tour which is added extra. The ticket seller was very interesting telling us about things while we waited for the bus. The only thing i wish there was a live tour guide on the bus as i felt this would have added to tour. Great tour and photo opportunity’s.

Gorgeous place will definitely do again and pippa the dog loved the bus tour ❤

Great bus ride. Hop on and off. Short circular journey breaks up the day esp with older family. The tour guide recording is just right too.

Get a bus with a guide instead of just the headphones. Much more informative and added personal expertise. Gave the layout of the place so you had a good idea of where to go on your own to get the best of what you wanted to see.

An excellent way to see Oxford. Very helpful drivers and the commentary provided an excellent insight into the various places of interest

A little bit pricey for the four of us but a good way to get a feel for the city and learn the basics.

Brilliant bus tour, would highly recommend this

The bus tour was good but office staff could do with communicating with the rest of the company was told Cambridge tours were running when in fact they had stopped the tours in October

No live presentations, only recorded commentary. Interesting tour only lasts an hour, walking tour at stop 8 was well worth taking, included with ticket price. Very bumpy on some of the roads. Not sure if is very good value especially if you have a bus pass, which can be used on all the local buses including park and ride.

Very interesting commentary, bus was clean and comfortable, driver was friendly. Not too expensive especially as you can hop on and off all day!

Great experience. You can buy a 24 or 48 hour ticket which means you can disembark at any time and get into another bus at any time any where. Gives the flexibility to go into places you find interesting and sightsee more closely. E.g go into one of the oxford colleges or museums. You get earphones to listen in to the guide throughout the trip.

A hop-on hop-off open top sightseeing bus that travels around Oxford. You are issued with earphones when you buy tickets, which you plug in similar to on an aeroplane. We loved the tour and I would highly recommend it! Just watch out - half way through I discovered I had been on the channel for kids commentary instead of Adult English. :( So I missed a lot. The ticket is valid for 24 or 48 hours, depending on which one you buy, but we didn't have time to stay so I could redo it. It gave us a brilliant overview of Oxford and all it has to offer, and we plan to use the info to go back and visit the sites we were most interested in. If you're planning a trip to Oxford, I would suggest taking this tour when you first arrive. It will help you get your bearings and decide where to spend your time - you'd probably have to visit for 2 weeks to do justice to everything on offer!

Really good bus tour. Some of the tours have a guide who will talk you through your journey otherwise there are channels you can listen to. Learnt loads about the city. You can hop on and off as you wish. Everyone was really friendly.
Only downside was we weren’t given any info about the walking tour and therefore we missed that part. Gutted.

Fab tour especially in fine weather. I could go round and round on the bus all day. Relaxing way to see and learn about the city.

I love the selection of languages available so I always use this seightseeing tour for my family and friends from abroad. The tickets are easy to book and the bus stops are quite regular. I would say the prices are reasonable.

From the moment we boarded I was hooked, we had a live tour guide, and he swapped over half way round, both male tour guides were very good full of information and the driver was lovely and friendly and chatty, the tour was awesome, I fell in love with Oxford and was delighted to find that the tickets for the Red Tour, enabled us to use the Green tour bus and vice versa. If you are stuck for time only do the Red Tour Bus, the Green one is ok, but nothing like the Red Tour.
This tour is a must, we only had one day to do Oxford and this was the best way to do it, literally hundreds of awesome facts about Oxford and who attended University, beautiful buildings, a truly awesome City, unlike Cambridge where the bus tour was a complete waste of money, and I felt hugely disappointed, and let down, no live tour guide, the pre-recorded guide was obviously very old, and had not been updated for several years, most of the buildings were hidden behind trees, making sight of them impossible, and photos were out of the question. Cambridge was "cold" and indifferent, and busy, where as Oxford was warm and friendly and relaxed, I will definitely be returning to Oxford but will never go back to Cambridge.

We did this tour for the day and it was quite helpful. If you want to get the bang out of your buck, do this tour early, do a few loops, go down certain landmarks to see what Oxford has to offer. Very helpful tour.

Very friendly staff in the High Street shop and the bus was comfortable and conveniently timed.
The audio description was clear and concise.

Was a great tour but Oxford traffic meant a lot of it was spent sitting still
D. T.
Walking tours were the best part of the tour. Buses are stuck in traffic most of the time.

Very interesting and informative. Useful tour on the red buses. The green buses do a walking tour with hopping on and off the bus

(Translated) Frequent service. Too bad it doesn't have air conditioning and it was oppressively hot in Oxford that day.
The guide and his 45-minute tour through the little streets of Oxford are excellent.
