Had a very good and informative tour, would highly recommend to everyone visiting Oxford!
The tour guide was super nice and interactive, and we were total 5 people in the tour.
As a student in the city, I wanted to learn more about the space, the city and the uncomfortable stories of the university.
As there is so much history to Oxford, it really just scratched the surface, but gave me more appetite to join other more specific tours in the future.
The tour focused on the tension between the city and the scholars (town and gown), Rhodes story, women in Oxford, Black students in Oxford, All souls college, how the university works, and a bit of history on the establishment of the town and the university.
It is definitely a plus to have an Oxford student as a tour guide, since it allows people that are only visiting the city to find more about the personal experience of studying at Oxford and the insides of the university in current times.

Yesterday's 'Original tour' was excellent; informal, informative & (most importantly) participative & inclusive. Our guide Cameron was brilliantly engaging. And as the only Black 'Oxford Townie' in our group, I found this tour of my own hometown prompted POWERFUL learning & connections. Highly recommended to Oxford city peoples in particular!

Very interesting tour sparking diverse perspectives on Oxford’s past and inviting for a discussion from the tour participants.
It was great to start with the original tour and I am certainly doing one of the topic-based tours in the future.

Tours of Oxford organized in a seminar-like manner. Audience are not simply listening, but expected to think and participate, engaging in thought-provoking discussions. One thing I would like to mention, on the other hand, is that perhaps a clearer chronology could be presented. A taste of different sides of the problem is always welcome, but a well-defined timeline would certainly help.

Absolutely enjoyed this tour with our guide Nikunj! It was highly informative and very participative. Nikunj prompted the group to discuss race and gender dynamics, among other topics, that have shaped the history of Oxford and guided us past several landmarks in the city. Highly recommend!

The only way to truly explore Oxford and its uncomfortable past! I would highly recommend these well- timed, interactive tours created and ran by Oxford students. They offer the full story of the city, going beyond what meets the eye, and discussing things such as the colonial past of the university and its many controversial sources of funding. Great for both people exploring the city for the day, as well as people from Oxford, as it provides a whole new perspective on places you probably pass everyday!

We had a private tour for two of us as we're still in the midst of a pandemic. Our tour guide was Louis who was very professional and informative and more than willing to answer questions whilst admitting gaps in his knowledge (which we didn't find too many examples of). The private tour price is fixed for up to 5 people, which did mean it was a tad pricey for the two of us though I certainly don't feel ripped off. I would certainly recommend them to any friends visiting Oxford.

Taking the tour after having studied at Oxford for a year really added a layer of understanding to the space that I was navigating. It touched upon the critics around colonial legacies I had heard about, but then went way further.
