We had a great Harry Potter tour led by Alistair. First he gave an introduction with some Hogwarts clothing especially for children.
As Dutch people it was very good to understand the guide.
Besides Potter information we also got a lot about history, writers and famous people who studied in Oxford.

We had a fabulous time on the “Oxford: Inspector Morse Lewis Endeavour Small Group Tour”. Our guide, Tom, was excellent – very informative and entertaining – and we had a lovely afternoon. Tom was very pleasant to talk to and we heard delightful stories about many historical places as well as how they related to episodes of Morse, Lewis and Endeavour. We even saw Endeavour being filmed so that was a bonus. We were also greatly impressed with the way that Tom conducted the tour at a gentle pace to suit my mum as she has mobility issues. Would definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic walking tour for everyone in the family! My husband is a history nerd , my daughter a Harry Potter fan and I just love touring new places ! Peter our tour guide was great , he was very knowledgeable about Oxford and Harry Potter , his interaction with the group was brilliant! My daughter loved answering the questions and learning new facts.
He was able to answer all my husband’s questions about Oxford and it’s history ! It was also great to learn about the other great authors such as CS Lewis and to see his inspiration for parts of Narnia Chronicles was an added bonus ! Peter’s recommendations for places to eat, shop and drink were great ! We tried a few out and thoroughly enjoyed them ! A great way to spend an afternoon!

We did the walking food tour of Oxford today with Alistair and I can't recommend it enough. He took us to food and drink stops off the beaten track and they were all fantastic. He also gave us tips on things to do and places to see for the rest of our visit to beautiful Oxford. Just brilliant. 🙂

An amazing guided Harry Potter Tour!
Laura our guide was excellent and very informative. She took us a group of 10 people around important sites informing in detail about the history of the important heritage sites. Peter also was very professional and gave the kids ice cream in the hot weather. Very thoughtful and considerate!
The whole family enjoyed the walk and I would definitely recommend 'visit Oxford tours '!

oxford university tour with student guide
We did this tour today and just wanted to say how interesting Jacob made the tour. Not only did we see the buildings we wanted, but we also got both a historical view of Oxford and some fascinating stories.
Thanks again Jacob

We booked very last minute and so pleased that we did as our tour guide Peter was absolutely outstanding. If visiting Oxford then it is a must you go on one of Visit Oxford Tours. We went on the 90 minute Harry Potter tour with our 8 year old son. Peter went above and beyond of what we expected with endless treats and surprises along the way. Although our tour was focused on Harry Potter with Peter’s wealth of knowledge we were educated on the history of Oxford to modern day. There is no doubt at all that going on one of Visit Oxford’s tours you will have a far greater insight to Oxford and all that it offers than trying to navigate the City on your own. We were sad when our tour ended and will certainly return to experience one of Peter’s other tours.

We did the 90 minute Harry Potter walking tour with our teenagers who are big Harry Potter fans. Not only did we get to see places where the movies were filmed, but we also got some great history about Oxford. We had Alasdair as out tour guide and he was energetic and fun. He was super helpful at the end of the tour and dropped us off at one of the colleges we wanted to visit.

We did a private tour in Spanish and it was the best experience! Our guide, Laura, spent the time we needed to show us and allow us yo enjoy all that Oxford offers. We spent one day in this amazing city and Laura made all the difference by showing us hidden gems, speaking about the city’s history and much more. Thanks Laura for making us fall in love with Oxford!

I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Myself and my 11 year old son were enthralled and enchanted for well over 2 hours by our guide Peter who brought Oxford and the world of Harry Potter to life for us. The tour went ahead in spite of persistent heavy rain and we delighted in and savoured every moment of a magical afternoon in this truly beautiful city. At the end of the tour our guide went to great trouble to ensure that we found the way to our bus stop for the park and ride. All in all an afternoon to remember!

We had a tour with Peter and it was great! He gave a thorough history of Oxford and showed us the locations of where inspiration struck for JK Rowling. He also showed us some hidden gems and went into details whenever we asked for more info. Highly recommend the Harry Potter tour through Oxford!
T. W.
Excellent visit, our tour focused on Harry Potter and Alice in wonderland, but there was enough for any interest. The guide (Peter) was excellent, very good explanations, lively, good with kids, but also attentive to what adults wanted to learn.
Highly recommended.
J. S.
Pub tour with Peter is amazing. His knowledge of the town and the school combined with the background around the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling, Tolkien, and CS Lewis kept us completely captivated. I would give him 7 stars if I could.
D. B.
Laura was a great guide. She's very knowledgeable about Oxford and how it relates to the Harry Potter books but also many other great writers such as Tolkien and CS Lewis. The tour was very tailored to our interests and Laura was also kind enough to take photos of us at key points. Seeing the details that inspired great authors like JK Rowling was a treat! Would definitely recommend January as Oxford is not busy and you get to enjoy the beautiful stops in relative privacy. Thanks Laura!

We joined Alistar on a lovely 36 mile tour of the Cotswolds last week. It was the most enjoyable and memorable event on our ten day trip. Far surpassing our visits to the typical tourist sights in Oxford and London. The Roman ruins, the ruins of great homes of folks that once ruled the area. A little bit history and a little bit of entertaining and story telling made for an enjoyable day on the trail. The bikes were in top notch shape, arrangements for pick up and drop off were planned well in advance and a beautiful linch at mid day in Burford. Would recommend this trip to b with the advanced and novice rider!

We all had a wonderful time on the Harry Potter tour. Peter shared unheard of Harry Potter trivia. We were about 10 minutes later and Peter was very gracious to separately cover off the parts which we missed out at the end.
K. M.
Tom was our guide for our Morse tour. He led us in the footsteps of our favourite TV sleuth, through the maze of backstreets, captivating us with stories of Morse, tales of TV and also of the History of Oxford. Two hours flew past , but we now know much more about the History of the city and of Inspector E Morse. Tom finished the tour by reciting a poignant poem, but I'll let you find out which one. Our thanks to Tom who was an excellent and engaging tour guide, we had a great time. 5 star tour.
A. T.
Our tourguide, Peter, is such a great storyteller. He made Oxford, imagened and real life, come alive. This was one of the highlights of our London tour this afternoon in Oxford. So worth the trip.
J. B.
Excellent tour with Renata. She is so informative & fun too, really brings life to the history of the city. Highly recommend this tour

We did the Harry Potter Tour and it was so amazing. Thanks.
It was very interesting and informative. Very well, it was not just about Harry Potter. Renata was a great guide. It was a lot of fun and we can whole heartedly recommend these tours.

Alister and Jake were incredible guides. The entire experience was lovely and the bike ride itself was beautiful. Alister was able to accommodate myself and my 3 kids ages 11, 6 and 2. He rode a tandem bike with my 6 year old and Jake road a bike with a baby seat with my 2 year old. They were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this company for any tour, especially the bike tour. Enjoy!

Peter gave me and my family a wonderful Harry Potter Film Locations Tour of Oxford, including Christchurch. We saw some very interesting buildings and objects, and learned not just about Harry Potter filming locations, but also about the history of Oxford. Peter gave us a lot of great information and was very patient with my highly inquisitive 9 year old son, as well as with my 3 and 6 year olds.
We got extra time on our tour and then Peter offered everyone a 15% discount at a great bookshop (largest one in Europe). He walked my family to an amazing pizzeria afterwards and then waited for us to finish so that he could walk us to the closest Oxford Tube stop. Peter was very generous with his time and knowledge with everybody. Oxford is a beautiful town and I highly recommend visiting it and booking a tour with this tour operator (Visit Oxford Tours).
A. P.
I had booked the Oxford and Harry Potter tour for myself and a friend I was visiting in Oxford, and had the wonderful Peter as our tour guide. Not only was he incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgable, but the tour was very interactive and diverse, learning about the history of the city to the literary backgrounds to religion, politics, you name it! One hundred per cent recommend this tour and Peter - it was an amazing experience and made us completely fall in love with the city. Thank you!
T. J.
We went on a couple of tours with this company and had a fabulous time. We went on the Harry Potter tour with Peter and the Morse tour with Alasdair. Both were very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. Peter was great with the children, very funny, with plenty of accessories and quizzes to keep them entertained.
Thank you so much. We can't wait to come to Oxford again :)
K. M.
We had an excellent time with our tour guide, Peter. Not only is he a Harry Potter expert who showed us as many film locations and inspirational places as he could possibly jam into our tour time, he is also quite the Oxford history buff. Learning so much about the town made us regret we only planned for one short day there. We absolutely plan to return again and would love to do another tour and learn even more!
S. E.
A fantastic experience. Peter was incredibly knowledgeable and packed our tour full of interesting facts about the history of Oxford, Harry Potter, famous literary figures as well as lots of fun. Would recommended highly!
S. P.
Peter was so knowledgeable about the Oxford area and shared some of his personal connections throughout the tour. Our tour was focused on Harry Potter, but we learned so much more than just Potter facts. I would highly recommend this tour! Peter was especially great with the kids who were on the tour.
B. C.
With so much to see in this beautiful town, my friend and I figured we'd sign up for a walking tour so we don't miss any hidden gems exploring on our own! I'm sure happy we booked the Harry Potter walking tour! Our tour guide, Peter, was very knowledgeable and friendly! He made us Americans feel very welcome. I had a great experience learning about the history of the locations and the Harry Potter inspirations! Highly recommend this tour for muggles and witches of all ages!
R. G.
Would strongly recommend the tour! Peter (tour guide) was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He managed to translate it all into actions and a great Oxford / Harry Potter / Narnia... tour experience. My gf is a major Harry Potter fan and he was prepared with robes, wands, and costumes from the films! Which was unexpected and truly gave a strong positive start to the tour.
M. C.
Laura was our fabulous guide for our 2 hour private tour around the city of and colleges of Oxford. She was full of wonderful facts and stories throughout our tour, not just about film locations and inspiration for Harry Potter but also about the difference between colleges, people who have studied in Oxford and pretty much every building we passed. We were lucky to have a super quiet day, no students and the museums are closed on Mondays, so it was really fun and relaxing. I can’t recommend this tour enough, and in particular Laura as a guide!

Excellent Walking Tour - You don't know Oxford until you have met Peter!
My wife, our toddler and I attended the 1PM Walking Tour of Oxford with Peter on 5th December.
We were about five minutes late due to a nappy change and traffic but Peter and the gang actually waited for us at an easy to reach location and began the tour only once we were there.
Peter took his time with the history behind each place we visited and showed us specific landmarks that inspired books and poems, including places where famous authors and poets stayed and socialised! We loved the Harry Potter Trivia and the background behind each character name and spell!
We missed about 20 minutes in the middle of the tour due to a nappy accident but Peter actually took us back after everybody had left and gave us a private tour of the Covered Market! He later joined us for dinner at a pub which was filled with conversation and laughter - he clearly loves Oxford and being a tour guide!
Peter recommended several places that we should visit the next time we're in the area. I am actually looking forward to going back and joining the Pub Tour (I believe this needs to be booked in advance).
He even walked us back to the bus stop!
We had an excellent time and I highly recommend this tour.
Not only did we learn much more about Oxford than any YouTube video or Wikipedia article could teach us, we also made a friend in Peter and will certainly use this company again!

Peter @ Visit Oxford Tours provided an extremely informative and entertaining walking Oxford and "Inklings" tour on December 22, 2021. While a last minute booking, Visit Oxford Tours and Peter accepted the booking and dove right in. With a recent Oxford graduate in the family now working in Oxford, Peter provided not only the planned cultural and historical insights but also an understanding of university and local life. Peter also knows some fantastic spots to snap a few memorable photos as well as where to enjoy a pint (or two). Looking forward to the next time.

Lovely tour by experienced guide. Much better, than trying to find/research everything yourself. Good value for the price. Excellent tour and well worth the experience. Ron. D.

MUST DO TOUR
I highly recommend this tour. I’m not the biggest Harry Potter fan but it was really interesting and had a great mix of fun facts on all literary luminaries at Oxford. Peter was one of my favorite tour guides of all time. His knowledge and rapport were really impressive.
A. W.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Endeavour/Morse/Lewis tour. Big thanks to Tom for looking after us. Tom made the tour interesting and entertaining and was considerate to us all - (especially me having to use a stick due to a recent injury). He did his best to accommodate our requests and interests, and he added in personal touches in terms of his knowledge of the area and places we saw. He also recommended a place for dinner which we went to later.
R. J.
An absolutely fantastic experience. Despite one of our party living (and going to school) in Oxford until 18, we all went to places we’d never been to before and learned things we didn’t know. The tour guide we had (Peter) was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and engaging for all our family (10-45yrs)
Communication from the company prior to the tour is exemplary, so book with confidence.
Highly recommended - we hope to book on a different tour on a future visit.

We joined the Harry potter tour with Peter on Saturday 4th September. Peter made the experience, he was funny and very knowledgeable. Clearly had a passion for being a tour guide and Oxford. Would recommend highly but ignore the time frame because the tour delightfully went past it finish time.
M. A.
This was BEYOND impressive and beyond all expectations. Peter was such an incredible guide. We were all transfixed and even the children were mesmerised- they’re not the easiest to please! He was incredibly funny, informative and utterly entertaining. We all learnt so much and had so much fun. Would definitely recommend for any history/ literature/ culture fan- not just Harry Potter. A heartfelt “thank you” to Peter

We visited Oxford on 25th August and enjoyed tremendously the HP tour. Our guide was Peter - very funny, witty and responsive. We learned a great deal about Oxford, and not only about Harry Potter universe and her creator J. K. Rowling, but also about other authors and their wonderful works - Shakespeare, Tolkien, even what exactly inspired C. S. Lewis to create Mr Tumnus :). All in all, very informative. Peter managed to engage even the youngest members of the group by asking them questions about characters in HP books and movies, he also explained the origin of some of the spells which was awesome. Thank you!

Way better than expected
Did the Harry Potter tour with Peter on the 29th July starting at 12.30. A family group of 5, 3 of whom live in Ireland and I thought in advance it would be a terrible waste of precious holiday time and I certainly did not book it. A 72 hour trip to Oxford can barely skim the surface so a day trip seemed ridiculous to me. That is still the case but you can only judge things on its individual merits. For Adults the good news it is a superb grown-up introduction to Oxford with all the Landmarks and history covered and the Potter theme stops the children getting bored. He knows more than the Geekiest child about HP one of whom was on my tour. Peter is in it for the love of it and his enthusiasm for the City and wish to inform is what makes any great walking tour. I understand that attitude as I love local history and have considered becoming a guide in 2 places I have resided. Peter actually does it rather than consider it.
T. T.
we did the 90 min walking tour with Alasdair as our guide - very informative, interesting and a good amount of light hearted humour too so although there's a lot of history its not at all stuffy. Oxford is just stunning and this tour is a great way to learn more in a short space of time. I'd recommend doing this as soon as you arrive as it also sets you up with ideas of other parts of the city to explore.

Harry Potter Tour with Divinity School Entry.
What a brilliant tour! Booked this as an alternative to the usual city tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Peter, our guide, shared his extensive Harry Potter knowledge in a fun way, putting it into the Oxford context, a city which inspired JK Rowling in her writings. We also learnt about the history of Oxford and some of it’s other authors.

We attended the Harry Potter tour at the weekend and my daughter loved it. Peter was extremely knowledgeable and ensured it remained fun for all. Including myself who knows nothing about Harry Potter! Would recommend to all, regardless of your potter knowledge.
E. P.
Our tour guide was very helpful and informative. He kept my son's attention and made him even more excited about and interested in Harry Potter. The tour was very enjoyable and still covered a lot of general Oxford history in addition to HP tidbits. The divinity school was a really cool place to visit. I only wish the colleges were open so we could have seen more filming locations!

Laura was our tour guide on a 2h Harry Potter tour. She is wonderful, engaging and passionate about oxford. When you visit a new city, it's the people that 'make or break' the emotional experience of a place. Laura nailed it for us. She loves her city, knows its history and shared this with us. I'll definitely be going back to oxford. Good work Laura. Thanks for your many recommended things to do.

Wonderful, exciting and very Informative.
I did the Christ church Harry Potter meets Alice in Wonderland Tour. Our tour guide was Peter, he was very friendly and funny. He took the time to teach us about the different places, their history and significance. He really knows Oxford, Harry Potter and Alice. I loved every part of the tour, he even gave us cookies!. I would surely do it again and take others tours with Visit Oxford next time I visit oxford. It was my first time and probably unforgettable.
L. H.
Laura was a really good guide and made the tour so enjoyable. It was just me and my friends on the tour so Laura gave us a history of Oxford tour too which was great. She has lots of interesting knowledge and made the tour so much fun with the photos she took! I love Harry Potter and would recommend this tour for anyone who's a fan!
P. O.
Peter. Just want to say we had a fabulous couple of hours with you as our tour guide. You are so knowledgeable and very informative. I have recommended you to our children who are also great Morse fans well the boys are. Our Grandaughter would love to do the Harry Potter tour so I’m sure we we be in touch as the weather gets warmer.
The photos were good and can now relate to some of them. The chocs came in good time too.
Thank you

Peter was the best guide ever!
My husband and I signed up for the Skip the Queue Harry Potter Tour of Oxford. We were lucky that the other couple scheduled for the tour had come that morning, so we got a private tour from Peter. He was full of information about the history of the city and the university, as well as Harry Potter trivia and film locations. He went above and beyond the call of duty to take us to interesting locales, and took a personal interest in what we wanted to see. Thanks so much, Peter, for the fun afternoon! We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

Harry Potter and visit to Christ Church Oxford Tour
Our experience with this tour was fantastic! Peter was our guide and was delightful and accommodating with our three children ages four, seven and nine. He had HP cloaks, wands and English cakes for our children to enjoy. So fun!
Peter is the master of Harry Potter and answered questions along with giving us insight to little details about the filming locations that we did not know. My husband and I have traveled and experienced many tours and I would say that this is definitely in our top five. Peter knew a great deal about the writers who studied, visited and wrote in the city of Oxford. We learned so much more about the history of Oxford, the colleges and culture along with HP! We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone with children or adults just looking for a fun and interesting tour.
J. F.
We did the Harry Potter Tour at Oxford with Laura and it was a wonderful experience. Laura took the time to connect with our son on the finer points of the Harry Potter events on campus. She also explained a great deal about Oxford itself as she recognized we were in town to visit the university with our daughter. She took family pictures, offered ideas for local travel and dining. All in all, Laura and Visit Oxford Tours were fantastic and surely a highlight of our trip to England this week.
O. W.
We had a great time on our Harry Potter tour of Oxford with Laura! She not only pointed out the important landmarks important to the world of HP, but she is also very knowledgeable about the city of Oxford. The tour is perfect for anyone who loves Harry Potter and also wants to see Oxford with someone who loves the city!
J. B.
“Don’t miss it! Both Laura and Alasdair are great!”
Took the afternoon tour yesterday with Laura as our guide. She was fabulous! Entertaining, knowledgeable, upbeat and had lots of facts not only about Harry Potter but also about other aspects of Oxford. Our tour consisted of all adults and Laura adapted her talk for us. You could see her enthusiasm about Oxford.
We had made a mistake in our booking and Alasdair was incredibly accommodating and responsive. He also attended the tour, adding a couple of comments. He even accompanied one participant who had to leave early to the rail station. 5 stars all around!
M. b.
We were a family of four with two older teenagers. When we booked this tour, I wasn't sure how interested they would be in this kind of thing .
Peter made the tour fun and very informative. There were lots of "bonus facts" and quizes. We were fascinated how the authors linked in with each other. The Harry Potter gown, hat and wand were a big hit ( with one daughter!) who kept it on all the tour. This really made the photos special. Both the girls and adults thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon .
When we booked, we thought it was quite expensive, but actually, the tour was well worth it. We were not rushed, and the whole tour ended up taking 3 hours. Peter was happy to answer questions and was very knowledgeable about both Oxford , Harry Potter and famous Oxford authors. We are now planning a return visit and intend to do another tour.

Fun, informative tour
We were late in planning our day in Oxford, so I was still making arrangements the day of. I emailed the company, and Allistair was quick to respond. Because I had missed the deadline of online sign-up, he instructed us to meet by the visitors center. It was a little confusing on where to be exactly, but our guide Peter organized us fine. We ended up going on the Morse tour - I had seen all of the shows, but my daughter hadn’t, so we weren’t sure it would cover what we wanted to see. It was totally fine. We visited the main Oxford sites and several exclusively Morse. Peter was engaging, very well informed of all kinds of Oxford history, and kept us moving. There were six of us on the tour, and he managed to talk to us all individually and to make sure we could all see and hear all we needed. I really liked that it was a small group. I wanted to avoid the large groups. The tour was suppose to be two hours long, but Peter was in no rush to keep us within that time and spent time with us afterwards talking casually. Would highly recommend!
E. L.
Peter was an excellent tour guide - extremely knowledgable and made the experience so much fun! This was my second time doing this tour and bringing someone else because I enjoyed it so much the first time.
J. W.
An enjoyable 3 hours, I am not to be fair, a Harry Potter super fan but have watched all the films and still enjoyed this tour, it contained facts about other films and books/authors from Oxford as well as some of the history .We were only a small group which I found to be good. Peter’s knowledge was vast and he came across very well.
A. T.
My wife and I had fantastic time during Oxford Harry Potter Film Locations Tour! Our guide Laura has great energy with tons of history knowledge. I recommend this tour for adults, couples and families with kids. It is not only about Harry Potter, but also about many other movies and history of Oxford itself.
I. D. G. F.
The tour with Laura was an spectacular experience !! We were lucky enough to enjoy the guide exclusively, so we could ask all kinds of questions and enjoy many anecdotes and stories from both the movies, and JK Rowling herself, and all this in our Language (Spanish). I strongly recommend it, especially to Harry Potter fans.
PD: the scones were great!!!
C. K.
Peter was a fabulous guide! He is filled with enthusiasm for what he’s showing us and the entire tour is interesting & engaging.
Thank you so much for this fantastic day and all those priceless insider information you had shared with us.
Thanks once again for the movies recommendation related to our Oxford & Harry Potter tour! Will try to catch them all .
l.
The tour was outstanding , "not to miss". Our guide was exceptional- he not only gave us a fascinating account of the making of the Harry Potter films in Oxford, but added far more in terms of historical background and links to other children’s authors in Oxford. I took my ten-year old grandchildren and they loved it. Our guide was brilliant at relating to children and was extremely kind, providing everyone with delicious cake in the cloisters. It could not have been a better tour.
K. G.
Laura was a fantastic tour guide! She provided my husband and me with wonderful insights about Oxford University, the history of the University, and where some of the literary giants of our time were inspired such as Tolkien, Shelley, Wilde, and Carrol (to name a few). She showed our two children where scenes from the Harry Potter films were shot. She brought robes from Hogwarts for the kids to wear when we took pictures at the different scene locations for Harry Potter. Laura has an incredible wealth of knowledge on the history, the colleges, and admissions process for the University of Oxford along with being a true wizard when it comes to knowledge of Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling's Oxford inspirations.
E. H.
Really enjoyable tour of oxford with Harry Potter highlights” We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children. Peter the guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable of oxford and Harry Potter. Due to busyness the adults didn’t get into the divinity school but he made sure all the kids did and they got their pictures which is the main thing. Really enjoyed Christ Church and the tour was definitely worth the cost and time. Recommend.
D. M.
Laura was great on the Harry Potter tour. Very informative and interesting. Definitely recommended. A shame that most of the venues were closed to the public due to Covid related restrictions, but don't let that put you off; Despite the closures this is well worth it and with Oxford being quieter than usual, if anything, the experience was even better without the huge crowds usually milling around the town centre. We followed up the tour with punting and had a great day overall.
K. P. K.
Hamish took our tour. I think he was really good as though it was the first time he conducted the Harry Potter tour. He will get even better with practice. He gave specific information on Harry Potter and also gave some additional information on JK Rowling's inspirations and other notable authors from Oxford. He was well mannered and kind. Overall, very good for a first time tour.
L. R.
Great Inspector Morse tour today with Peter, very informative and interesting - thank you Peter
K. G.
We were lucky to have our guide LAURA. Not only has she a passion for Harry Potter and knows each tiny little details in Oxford relating to the films and wirter but she also has a giant knowledge of history. The combination of both makes the experience and tour with her very unique. Her passion for telling stories allows you to enter completely in the different stages in time and makes the visit to Oxford the best one could have dreamt of. THANK YOU LAURA! Amazing tour guide with a huge knowledge and giant friendliness.
I. Y.
Harry Potter's trip to Oxford was great. The instructor perfectly integrated the needs of adults with children. We got a lot of information about the picturesque and amazing city of Oxford. We also received generous and prompt assistance in relation to any question we needed. It is highly recommended. Thanks!
M. H.
Did the Morse Tour with Tom on Monday and it didn't disappoint. A great couple of hours spent treading the pavements of Oxford following in the footsteps of Morse and Lewis. Tom's knowledge and attention to small details brought the TV series to life for my husband who is a big Morse fan. Thank you Tom

The Inklings Oxford Writers Tour (CS Lewis & JRR Tolkien)
This is a must do experience for a CS Lewis and Tolkien fan. Alasdair was on holiday but he did a great job of connecting us with his colleague Peter. Peter was a wonderful guide who went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. He actually spent 3 hours with us instead of 2. I happened to mention I also love Harry Potter so he incorporated Harry-Potter sites and knowledge into our tour as well. I could not have asked for a better experience and I hope I can come back to oxford for more. There is so much to see and I feel like 1 day is only enough for the tip of the iceberg
C. K.
Laura was an excellent Harry Potter tour guide. She had a lot of knowledge about Oxford and the places where scenes were captured. She provided props which we used in photos.
I would recommend Laura to anyone who wants a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide.
Thanks again, Laura! 😄
A. M.
It was excellent! We've booked initially in
English and Alasdair has found a Russian speaking guide. We had a great time and learned a great deal about all of the Oxford. Nina is very pleasant and knowledgeable. She's showed us a lot of interesting places and told us many interesting facts. And she also gave us some tips where to continue after the tour was over, so we've enjoyed the whole day in Oxford.
D. C.
We enjoyed very much our walking tour hosted by Peter it was the endeavour morse and Lewis one. In total the tour lasted a full 2 hours and was well worth the cost. Peter was highly knowledgable and kept us on our toes asking questions and showing us pictures etc.
Peter also gave us advice and direction as to how to finish our special day visiting Oxford. We followed what he advised and enjoyed the experience throughout. I would have no qualms in recommending this tour and would definitely book a different one on our next visit. Thanks Peter Denise and Stuart

Professor Michiel gave us a v interesting and entertaining Harry Potter tour this afternoon. Managed to keep both my kids- age 9 and 7 engaged throughout. Thank u!

Alasdair was our amazing guide. It was a Bike tour around Oxford, the city and then the countryside. We were two mums with 2 girls of 12 years old and 2 girls of 9 years old. We all had so much fun! Alasdair was able to entertain and teach us all so much. He did accommodate all our needs, he was very professional and we learnt so much! We strongly recommend him and his tours! Thanks so much, Alasdair!

Brilliant tour round Oxford's attractions.
Brilliant tour from Peter. He was really engaging and really brought to life the attractions whilst making sure everyone was included. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I had Jake and most of the people on my tour were couples with children and he was really good with them. I was just by myself (I’m a college student studying abroad from Texas) and he said a lot of interesting facts about Harry Potter film locations and Oxford in general and was really fun! He was very willing to take pictures of me whenever I wanted and even let me borrow a Harry Potter robe for a few pictures!
L. C.
I had the most amazing and magical afternoon with numberles Harry Potter spots in Oxford. Our guide Laura was a huge Harry Potter fan herself, we were a group of only three people, she even brought a Griffindor cloak for us to wear for pictures (which she kindly took of us and gave advise where best to take them). I have to admitt I am a really really big Harry Potter fan and during my time in the UK I went on several Harry Potter Tours, but the one in Oxford was the most magical. The Colleges were amazing and Laura's knowledge about Harry Potter and behind the Scenes Specials was incredible. I can recommend this for everyone, the bigger Harry Potter Fan the better, but actually for anyone who is interessted in the beauty and stories of Oxford and it's Colleges.

We had a Fantastic tour with Allisdair. Because of our unique schedule Alasdairr was able to take us on a private tour at an earlier time. He is extremely knowledgeable and had so many interesting details to share about everything from famous Writers who have lived and worked in the area, to the architecture and timeline of many of the colleges of Oxford U. I would absolutely recommend this tour! I took two 10 year old boys and they were especially interested in seeing the Harry Potter movie locations. Thank you so much for a fantastic tour.
P. J.
With my wife & two children I went on a tour taking in the history of Oxford city and university and also Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Tolkien, C S Lewis & much more. It was our first trip away since the Covid lockdowns and Alisdair who runs this company was professional & had lots of helpful advice with other things to do after the tour, such as the many museums and where to eat & drink. Highly recommended...we will be back!
C. G.
Oxford Morse walking tour was excellent and far exceeded our expectations. Tom was our guide and was extremely informative with historical facts and Morse information. Would highly recommend, well worth the cost.

Amazing tour with an enchanting group
Our tour with Oliver and our wonderful group was amazing and very interesting ... I will never forget this tour and this wonderful day in Oxford! Oliver is such a great guide, and he knows a lot of the history of Oxford and it was a perfect tour - unforgettable for my husband and me! Thank you so much, Oliver and Alasdair for this wonderful and unforgettable experience!!

A custom-made tour around Oxford
I recently moved to Oxford and I wanted to explore the city with an expert. That day I was the only one present at the tour. My guide was Peter, an Oxford University student and former background actor in Harry Potter movies. He was really nice and knowledgeable, he showed me both some of the film locations (Divinity School, Christ Church College) and more general tourist attractions (University Church, Radcliffe Camera). He also told me several interesting stories about the history of the city and its University, and took me to see the Oxford Union buildings (a real privilege for a non-member of the debating society). The tour was even longer than advertised!!! Definitely worth it

Lovely tour through Oxford - informative, entertaining and amusing!
I had the pleasure of taking part in two guided tours hosted by Visit Oxford Tours during my work as an activity leader for international language students in summer 2017.
Previous communication was pleasant and helpful and everything was well-organised.
Due to the size of our group, we had three tour guides; Monika, Maria and Tom. All of them were excellent! Monika appeared in an entire Harry Potter outfit and the students loved it!
I went on the tour with Tom twice and as a real Oxonian, he really knew what he was talking about! Time of the tour, performance and information were perfect. Tom is such a nice and smiley guy and he seasoned the whole tour with interesting and funny tales and anecdotes
All I can say is that I can highly reccomend Visit Oxford Tours!
M. M.
Laura guided us on our Oxford visit. It was my teenage son and nephew and me. We ere joined by a few other people as it was a shared tour. We loved our visit with Laura. It was informative, educational and fun. She recommended a great place to eat which we loved: Congregation House. All in all huge success thank you Laura!
J. R. C.
My daughter and I enjoyed the Harry Potter tour yesterday in beautiful weather. We had a very informative and friendly guide in Peter and would love to have seen more areas where Harry Potter was filmed
B.
Had a really good time with our guide Peter; he managed to find remplacements to the usual places as some of them were closed for graduation so it was great ! Also it was very nice to have all sorts of anecdotes and facts about the places, harry potter, Tolkien, lewis Carol, and general history of the place 👍
P. D.
Tour started on time with a knowledgeable, friendly and most entertaining guide. The small group made for a more personal and flexible tour which extended beyond the two hours advertised. Peter, our guide, clearly enjoyed his job, had many stories to tell and made several recommendations for films to enhance our experience of Oxford and the famous literary people who lived there.
A. R.
Our guide Laura was lovely, friendly and welcoming. She was very knowledegable about Oxford and Harry Potter and took us to to many interesting points. She was very good with children who loved her explanations. Would recommend Laura this tour very highly - 10/10!
B. C.
Laura was a great guide. She really educated us on the inspirations for Harry Potter and Oxford in general. I loved her mix of pop culture and history of the Colleges at Oxford. Laura was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She will be at the top of our list when we are back in Oxford!!!
S. I.
We really enjoyed our "Morse" tour with our guide Tom. He gave us a good overview of the various locations of all the different Morse "incarnations" and also other films and TV shot here or inspired by Oxford. He also gave us interesting insights into both the history of Oxford and also the fascinating minutiae.
R. B.
Our tour guide Peter, was hugely knowledgeable and very entertaining as he lead us around the various Harry Potter filming locations in Oxford. We also learnt about some of Oxfords other great authors C S Lewis, Tolkien and Lewis Carroll and took in the sights of the Bodleian library, New College and enjoyed a cheeky quip about Magpie Lane. Thoroughly enjoyable tour can't thank you enough.
D. E.
Our guide Tom was excellent ..his knowledge and information on not only Morse/Lewis/Endeavour but on the history of Oxford itself was amazing. The tour was meant to be 2 hours but lasted over 2.5 hours and the time flew by. I would highly recommend this tour.
R. F.
We met our guide, Peter, and right from the start we knew it was going to be good. His enthusiasm for showing people round Oxford was obvious from the start and all the little snippets of information he gave us were great.
He gave us much more than just the Morse tour that we were on, he gave us the desire to come back and see more of this beautiful City.
A. E.
Above and beyond expectations.
Our experience of the Oxford Inklings tour completely outdid all expectations. We were guided by Peter, co-director of the tour company, and an Oxford graduate and resident himself. From the outset, he was eager for us to gain an appreciation and taste of his enthusiasm for Oxford and suffice to say, by the end of the tour, we were well and truly enamoured with this beautiful city.
Through its Inkling themed trajectory, the tour covered much of the heart of Oxford, both geographical and metaphorical. We were led through iconic Oxford symbols including the Bodleian Library, Magdalene College, Exeter College, St Michael at the North Gate and more, with plenty of stops to admire and discuss other quintessential Oxford features (Radcliffe Camera/ Ashmolean Library/ etc). It was particularly special to hear the stories of Tolkien, CS Lewis and co in the very places in which they occurred. An absolute highlight included the Eagle and Child pub where the Inklings would meet.
What was exceptional about this tour was the individual touch that Peter brought as guide. His personal and intimate knowledge of Oxford brought the town alive for us and our tour ended up running longer than originally planned due to the abundance and riveting nature of stories to be shared. The small perks (cake/tea shared together) made for an even more wonderful experience and Peter was never short on fantastic recommendations for optimising our time in and around Oxford.
By tour's end, we were immensely reluctant to leave this beautiful town and felt that we had truly gained a sense of both the Inklings' story in Oxford and of what makes Oxford so unique in its own right.
Possibly the most engaging and satisfying city tour I have experienced to date. Cannot recommend more highly.
P. C.
My husband and I could not have been more pleased with our Inklings Tour, most especially since our tour guy, Tom, was an excellent guide in every detail.
We are a couple "of a certain age", so we knew that the 2 hour walk would be a challenge for us, and told Tom so. He was beyond accomodating, walking at our pace. We never felt rushed.
We were most interested in learning about J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, so Tom tailored his presentation mainly around them. The knowledge that he shared, as we walked from each place of interest to the next, was extensive. It was obvious to us that he enjoyed sharing every bit of information that we might find interesting, and he was spot on. His enthusiasm was contagious!
I highly recommend this tour and Tom in particular. It was a joy to learn from him and to have our time in Oxford so enriched by what he shared.
B. W.
We took the Harry Potter themed tour of the University with Alasdair, and all of us enjoyed it (two kids, 7 & 10 y.o., and their grandparents).
Well-paced, our two hour walk sampled quite a few sites; the stories and information were all engaging, well balanced between the HP movies and the history of the University of Oxford. Don't miss it!
E. B.
We did the C.S. Lewis and Tolkien tour as Christchurch was fully booked and not available. Absolutely recommended to book in advance . Alasdair is a very knowledgeable and friendly guide, we have seen some amazing spots and thoroughly enjoyed the Magdalen College visit!
A. S.
Peter took extra time and had many interesting things to say about Oxford. He knows all the Harry Potter but pointed out other sites as well. I highly recommend him for any age and interest! He engaged well with my teens also.
S. N.
My husband and I went on this Inklings tour with Tom. Tom was excellent. He had an amazing amount of knowledge and spent a lot of time with us. We will definitely recommend him to others.
We think one area for improvement would be his confidence! He is an excellent tour guide and should exude more confidence. Specifically, it would be great if he spoke louder and had more/longer prepared bits to say. (It might help tour attendees who are shy with asking questions) We loved hearing what he had to say!
Overall a great experience. Thank you!
E. C.
“A fantastic way to know Oxford.”
Peter is very knowledgeable and humorous. He showed everything about Harry Potter and much more about Oxford. We did enjoy our stay, thank you.
c. d.
Had the two best tours on our vacation with Alasdair and Peter! We signed up for the Oxford Morse tour with Alasdair. It was just my wife and I, no crowd of 30 people following a little flag somewhere up ahead. They keep the group size very small and intimate. It is like having a friend who lives there show you all around. We had such a great time in the afternoon, we changed our evening plans and signed up for an evening pub tour with Peter. It was the highlight of our vacation. We cant wait to come back and see more with them.
C. M.
Had a fab afternoon with Tom on our Morse walking tour. We were lucky with the weather so we took a leisurely pace. Tom was really knowledgeable about Oxford history as well as Morse/Lewis/Endeavour/Dexter trivia. Need to rewatch some episodes now! Really good. Totally recommend it.
A. A.
WORTHY!!!!”
The campus is just breathtaking, our tour guide Al (Malfoy :-) was so informative explained a lot about Oxford houses, history and the inspiration of the school on all kind of literature not just HP. That was a really cool day at Oxford, ended with a great tour!!
J. T.
Wonderful, flexible, informative, fun! My daughter and I had actually signed up for the two hour Oxford bike tour with Visit Oxford Tours, but after touring various cities and rural areas via a rental car (lets just say it was not a stress-free experience navigating England's extremely narrow and winding roads in a mini Vauxhall Corsa), she decided she was not interested in braving the streets of Oxford on a bike. Alasdair, the owner of Visit Oxford Tours, cheerfully honored our request to change from the bike tour to the Harry Potter Oxford tour without any charge. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the sites and the insider information on Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland and other cherished stories and famous people.
G. H.
We did the walking/cycling tour and it was probably our highlight of Oxford. Jake, a student in Oxford, was great and very personable as he gave us insights into history as well as a student's perspective. Biking was not difficult at all with a great stop off at a pub before heading back into town
Also did the Inspector Morse, Lewis, and Endeavour Tour. Tom was our guide and was exceptional with his knowledge as well as insights into the different Universities. Highly recommend Tom and this tour if you are a Morse fan!
M. J.
“Superbly entertaining and informative tour.”
Our guide Laura was an excellent source of fascinating tidbits. As she took us around the various spots in Oxford that were used as inspiration for JK Rowling, as well as in the filming of the Harry Potter films, Laura kept up a constant witty commentary. Ticket prices for a couple of the sites were included in the tour price and entering as a group was smooth. At certain spots, Laura offered to take photos of the families, couples and individuals, ensuring that everyone had a memory to take home. The places were beautiful, the company delightful, and the overall tour was well worth the price. I highly recommend it.
M. G.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Morse tour with Tom, our guide. We were lucky enough to get him to ourselves (just 2 of us) and he tailored the tour accordingly. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about not only the characters and the plots of more episodes than even we'd seen but he linked them into the history of the many colleges and lanes and alleyways of Oxford. It was great to be shown the exact locations we knew from the TV show but also Tom enthused about episodes we're yet to watch... We learnt a tremendous amount about the history of the place and saw all the major sights - this was a 2 1/2 hours very well spent and I'd recommend this tour company to anyone with a love of Morse, Lewis or Endeavour... but also fans of C.S.Lewis, Tolkien and even Harry Potter.
c.
Tom did a wonderful job taking our family on the ‘inklings’ walking tour! I appreciated that the group was super small (only 2 others outside of our family) & he encouraged lots of questions vs just going through a rehearsed script. We not only saw many key places related to the ‘inklings’ but the many stories that Tom told really made things come to life. We were never in a hurry & just a lovely afternoon. I’d highly recommend it.
P. B.
We had a fantastic Harry Potter tour & our guide Laura was excellent. Her knowledge was exceptional & she answered all questions fired at her. She was also always offering to take photos for anyone. A really great tour.
V. C.
My friend and I really enjoyed the Oxford university tour with Alasdair.
He was friendly and knowledgeable and offered lots of useful tips on visiting places of interest in the city.
I'd definitely recommend his tours and would like to go on his other tours when visiting Oxford in future.
s. p.
loved them.We went in the city tour with Linda. Very good guide, made it very interesting and Linda was very knowledgeable.
We then went on the Morse tour, again had Linda, made it very funny and again her knowledge on the Colin Dexter series is amazing.
Highly recommended the tours.
Thank you Linda for making the tours so enjoyable.
A. D.
My husband and I (both locals) took the walking tour and the scenic countryside tour and they were both AMAZING! Oxford is at our doorstep however we hadn’t ever experienced its history properly. Oliver took us through the walking tour, he is just so enthusiastic about history, his knowledge about the cathedral and colleges was astounding. We then took a bike tour through trendy Jericho and then to the countryside with Naima, she was so patient (I hadn’t biked in a while! And she helped me get used to the bike gears). It was like we were biking around Oxford with an old friend! I definitely recommend both tours, and both tour guides, there’s nothing worse than spending the day with someone who doesn’t enjoy their job, both guides were a pleasure to be around. Great job guys.
E. B.
Highly recommend Visit Oxford Tours. My company used them for a corporate event for 20 employees of mixed nationalities all the way from America to the Middle East. The tour was focused around JK Rowling and Harry Potter and some other famous writers to come out of Oxford such as C S Lewis and Louis Carroll. Our host, Laura, was packed with lots of interesting and quirky knowledge of Oxford and past residents and she really made it the perfect end to two days of business meetings. Thanks Laura!
M. E.
Tom gave us a great Inspector Morse tour around Oxford, we thoroughly enjoyed! Despite the thirty eight degree heat, we saw parts of Oxford that we would never have found without his true knowledge and understanding of the area, not to mention his passion for Morse, and Oxford itself.
Thanks Tom!
G. v. D.
Lovely Tour!
We had the honour of being Hamish’ first costumers and he did a great job! He knew a lot about the city’s history and its hidden gems, such as the oldest and most known pubs, the colleges and such. Definitely recommend it, as the groups are usually smaller. Thank you so much for the tour and good luck on your next ones!
D. B.
Alasdair was great, loads of great facts and interesting information, not just about Harry Potter. Tour is great for all ages. Highly recommended.
M. B.
My 12 year old son and me had a wonderful 90min walking tour. We really enjoyed following our guide Peter. A great experience full of insights, facts and impressions from all the must-seens in Oxford and much more. Personal preferences and spontaneous requests - there was nothing left to be desired . Thank you, ILoveOxford-Team!
L. H.
Alasdair gave us a great tour of Oxford, showing us lots of colleges and chapels. Alasdair has a huge knowledge and a friendly personality, so the tour was fun for us all. As a first time visitor to Oxford, it was a fabulous introduction to the city
K. F.
We took the tour out to Blenheim Palace from Oxford. As a group of 4 we got a very personal tour. There were several events going on that limited our access, but our tour guide navigated the difficulties (loud sound checks for an evening concert and closed areas) with professionalism and persistence. We highly recommend and would use again.
H. S.
Great afternoon spent wandering the charming and history steeped heart of Oxford with the well informed and charming Ollie. Our group comprised of two young Harry Potter Whippersnappers ....with their embarrassing muggle mother and aunt in tow! Tough task to please us all ..... but Ollie managed it ......and in tremendous Oxfordian style👨🎓! But seriously ... we saw lots more than I ever expected as we meandered our way through the streets and colleges of Oxford - from the Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera to New College with it’s impressive Harry Potter dining room, stunning gardens, THE iconic Harry Potter cloisters and tree - which immediately drove our girls into a Proper Potter frenzy! Thank you Ollie for an enjoyable, informative and reasonably priced Birdseye view of Oxford. Helen
I. C.
A great afternoon of fantasy and history!
Guide Michail was competent, knowledgeable on Harry Potter and other fantasy literature, as well as on British history with an Oxonian perspective. A learned person, he blended the two with good humor and suspense. The "tests" applied to the group during the tour added interest. A great experience! We strongly recommend
W. M.
Tom gave us a superb Inspector Morse tour, his knowledge and insight made this worthwhile !
The weather was not great that day but the anecdotes Tom presented us with respect to Morse & Harry Potter made us forget the weather.
A visit to some non-public sites would have been a nice add-on.
regards
Wim & Anna

This was the highlight of our day in Oxford. Not only did we learn about the TV series Morse,Lewis and Endeavour but our wonderful guideTom wove the history of Oxford into his tour. I was extremely impressed by Tom’s depth of knowledge.
C. J.
I booked the Oxford City & University Walking Tour for last Sunday at 1 pm. Unfortunately, the guide and I missed each other despite the fact that I was on time and at the right place. I paid online in advance and still wanted to do the tour, no matter on which day. I had to call the office and Alasdair cared quite well about rescheduling the tour.
Finally, Naima was my guide today and she did a really good job. She‘s a young French woman who‘s very interested in a lot of interesting details and in the history of Oxford. It was great fun to listen to her and to walk around the beautiful city.
By the way: Thanks for recommending the best scones in town, Naima. They were really delicious 👌🏼Luckily we‘d sun and awesome weather today for the walking, definitely better than we‘ve had last Sunday 😉. I can totally recommend those tours.
R. C.
Our guide, Michiel, was very knowledgeable and provided a comprehensive tour of Harry Potter sites. Even though we had been told that the Christ Church dining hall was closed, it was in fact open as well as the rest of the college. Our Harry Potter infatuated granddaughters were thrilled with the experience.
H. P.
We did the walking tour of the city with Monica followed by the cycling tour with Andrew. Both were amazing! The walking tour was interesting and informative, and the cycling tour was an amazing experience riding through town, through a field with cows and horses, with stops at a beautiful very old church and at a pub for a drink before heading back. Would definitely recommend!
S. G.
Really informative and enjoyable Morse/Lewis/Endeavour tour led by Tom M. Saw parts of Oxford we’d not seen before and Tom’s knowledge of both Oxford and the Morse stories and locations was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
T. J.
Tom skilfully took us on a marvellous tour of Oxford, through the lens of Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse, Lewis & Endeavour. He was so generous with his time, knowledge & love of Oxford and we came away with a new appreciation for the history and significance of this superb city. Thank you Tom!
A. T.
Tom was a delightful guide who combined his profound knowledge of the city past and present and the subject of Morse television series and its characters’ complexity into an interesting and entertaining dialogue. He was sensitive to the specific interests of the participants on the tour and really enhanced our time in Oxford and our understanding of the city. Thanks Tom
L. N.
Adina was our tour guide. She was friendly and welcoming, pointing out places of interest and was knowledgeable about the history of each place. She could be heard easily and was happy to answer questions. She also had a little wallet of photos to explain further about things being mentioned. Adina was keen to help us get the best out of Oxford and even beyond the tour, tried to make sure we got to our destination.
The group was 8 in number, much smaller than the 'free' walking tours which seemed to be about 20-30 in number. The smaller group meant we could get into Wadham college and Divinity school as a group. I would recommend this tour if you want to see Oxford in two hours.
S. C.
Renata was amazing!
She was waiting for us at the meeting point as we arrived a couple of minutes early, and promptly introduced herself.
There were only three of us: myself, my wife and our five-year daughter. Renata took us around lots of places, and did her utmost throughout to keep our daughter interested and entertained. We all learned a lot of interesting historical snippets on the tour, from the mystery of a stolen door knocker to the difference between gargoyles and grotesques... along with tales of murderous Mary Queen of Scots and the sad story of the Oxford martyrs.
I could have gone on for another couple of hours, but sadly my five-year old was all walked out and Renata had another group to lead.
Well worth the money!
M. A.
I LOVED THIS TOUR!!! Can’t say it enough. Peter! You’re the best. Thank you for a great experience. The chocolates, the cake, the photos, the videos! Everything! THANK YOU. If you’re going to Oxford, and you’re a harry potter fan, and can go on only 1 tour, get this one!!!
E. C. K.
Laura was a great tour guide. She has provided valuable historical information that I and my family will never forget. She is lively and entertaining. Pleasure to wander around Oxford with her.
B. B.
It was a last min booking with VisitOxfordTours, we were so lucky to join in the small group touring around Harry Potter theme. Peter did a wonderful job, we all enjoy it very much, btw, he knows how to make good pictures. that's a plus.
I. N.
Great tour and guide! Our guide focused on children’s interest in Harry Potter by asking questions and encouraging them to answer and give explanations.
D. S.
This tour is fantastic. Adina was our guide and is very knowledgeable about the history of the town and the university. I would definitely recommend making this part of your visit if you are going to Oxford.
L. M.
Our Guide, Peter, was amazing. He was full of knowledge about everything! I was with my daughter and 13-year old granddaughter - she loved every minute of the tour. If we booked again we would like to think that Peter would be available. The whole experience was brilliant. Thank you...
C. H.
I booked a work team on a tour through Visit Oxford. Our guide Laura was interesting, funny and engaged with the team. She was also flexible about what interested the group and what our timings were. Thanks Laura!
A. C.
Fantastic small group tours with knowledgeable guides who can provide historical and current information with humour. If they don’t know the answer to your question, they’ll find out and let you know later. Not many guides will do that! Would highly recommend the Oxford walking tour with entry to colleges and the Blenheim tour.
P. W.
Our guide, Tom, offered a generously timed and detailed tour of Oxford.
Tom was a courteous, engaging and skilled guide; we learnt a great deal and enjoyed a long, leisurely walk in his expert company.
M. H.
Tom was a wonderful guide, his knowledge was fascinating and made our first taste of Oxford a delight. Really nice guy, thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with us.
A. B.
We had the walking tour run by Adina. She was a very good guide imparting much knowledge of some of the Oxford colleges we passed and gave access to some college chapels as well as local landmarks and history.
E. G.
It was a tour covering lots of Morse, Lewis and Endeavour but on top of that a lot of history of Oxford and going into Colleges to give us lots of hidden gems and detailed information on history and todays business. Alistair was brilliant and really funny.
ט. ל.
We had the most wonderful tour with a most wonderful guide, Adina. Full of knowledge about history of Europe, Oxford, people.Shares a lot in a very interesting way. We had a great time
M. C.
Ir was a very interesting tour and we liked our guide, Alasdair very much.

Recently I attended a Shakespeare Street Walking Tour in Broad Street Oxford (August 2016). I used to work in the Music Shop so I know the street well but this added a new dimension. The tour guides/ actors performed scenes from the scenes from the works of Shakespeare. There was a scene performed outside the Museum of the History of Science opposite the Weston I had seen the Shakespeare exhibition there. Again this added a different perspective to seeing the works performed in a theatre with a connection and interaction between actors and people attending the tour.
M. E.
We had two guides. Both were very knowledgeable about the colleges and Harry Potter. Our guide educated and entertained us, the grandparents, and our 9 year old granddaughter. We will remember for years. Thank you so much.
J. S.
we went on a walking tour with Peter who was so interesting and knew so much about oxford. he took us down winding walk ways and we found things we never would have discovered without his guidance. highly recommend this company for an incredible day in oxford!
K. M.
We had a delightful tour of Oxford with Tom. The theme was Inspector Morse haunts, but Tom also gave us an entertaining history of the town and the colleges.
D.
Went the extra mile.
Peter is very knowlegeable and clearly enjoys giving the tours. This was a Harry Potter Tour, but he gave us extra time and covered extra topics too. Enjoyable and very insightful

Dear all,
on behalf of my family I want to thank you for your lovely and very interesting tour of Harry Potter film locations on Jan 29th. We really enjoyed it despite the weather!
Good luck!

Peter is a terrific guide and I highly recommend this tour. It was an informative, fun and well designed tour. We really enjoyed the personalized service and efforts to make our time in Oxford meaningful and enjoyable.
R. M.
Peter was a very informative guide who managed to keep every member of our family interested and entertained (incl 16 and 7 year old children). We saw many items we would not have noticed if we had done it on our own!
J. S.
Great tour which covered both Morse and other great English literary figures would recommend the tour to anybody visiting Oxford. Guide was very informative and very funny
J. F.
We are locals but decided to take a walking tour and are very glad we did. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny and engaging, giving us keen insights into a City we already felt we knew, but now know even better!
J. D.
Thanks for a great walking tour of Oxford this Saturday. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it and ended knowing a whole lot more about this lovely city than when we started.

Laura was energetic and knowledgeable. Delightful tour with a great

I just got the feedback from our tour leader Paul, he said Alasdair is awesome, he feels speechless! I can catch how Alasdair make Paul adore him. Meanwhile, many thanks for Alasdiar's help to recommend Hongling leads another group, everything is perfect.
I cannot image how to achieve this mission without Alasdair when our cooperated local operator told me that they cannot manage CHCH for our group in July, how irresponsible they are! Just leave this trouble to me, I am so lucky to know Alasdair via tripadvisor. I really appreciate him deeply, especially pass me the secret of booking tickets of CHCH.''
Hopefully work with Alasdair again then in near future.
T. R.
Peter was a great tour guide and really knew his stuff. Covered many interesting subjects and linked them all together very well
R. B.
Excellent tour and great value for money. Our guide Peter struck the right balance throughout interspersing detailed knowledge with humour which made for an informative and entertaining two hours. Thoroughly recommended.

Laura was really great, she took the time to go round the sites and was very informative, not just about Harry Potter but Oxford and other authors etc.

Fantastic tour, Laura was very knowledgeable, despite the poor weather we had a thoroughly good day, would recommend it if you want a guided tour of the Oxford sights

Adina was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide for the Oxford walking tour that we took in April 2019. Small group, great value.

Very nice tour focused on Oxford related Harry Potter and popculture references.

(Translated) I took a private tour of the Harry Potter in Oxford film sites Walking Tour.
The guide, Micheli, taught us a lot about Harry Potter and JK Rolling, as well as a lot of connections between various other writers (Tolkien, Lewis Carroll, Shakespeare, etc.) and Oxford University. ..
For my son, whose memories are new to each work, I was able to get a deeper understanding of the story and the background in which the characters appearing in it were created, and for those of us who have lost their memories, I would like to read the works again. became.
It was a very enjoyable and meaningful time for both adults and children.
Thank you Micheli!

Harry Potter in Oxford film sites Walking Tour
Micheliさん、ありがとうございました!

(Translated) My wife and I really liked it, we advise everyone and thanks to Peter for the chocolate. It was an exciting sightseeing tour of Oxford. Peter was our guide and he did his job brilliantly! I would suggest that you take this tour before attempting to explore the city on your own. You will be given many tips on what to visit; some locations from the tour would be difficult to find at random or even on recommendations from the Internet. Peter is a great storyteller and you shouldn't be afraid of being difficult to understand, he has a very clear accent and good diction. I advise everyone.
We had a Harry Potter tour in Oxford with Peter. It was very informative and exciting. I would recommend you taking that tour before trying to explore Oxford yourself as you will get a lot of useful tips. Peter was passionate about his work and he clearly loves Oxford. It was a pleasent time. We hope to visit Oxford again.
P. S. Thank you for chocolate

(Translated) Fantastic tour! Peter waved his magic wand and made all the difference. We learned so much about Oxford's rich history and why Harry Potter was filmed here. With his broad knowledge and great sense of humor, Peter kept our whole group engaged and entertained the entire time. Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning to Oxford, book a tour with Visit Oxford Tours. You won't be disappointed!
If you are visiting Oxford University for the first time and want to learn about its long history and the location of the Harry Potter movies, you must sign up for a walking tour of Visit Oxford Tours. Their tour guides are all students at school. Not only are they familiar with the history of Oxford, but each is a Harry Potter fan and can answer all kinds of questions from tourists. Our tour guide is called Peter, and he currently focuses on a master's degree in economics and law. He is very knowledgeable and humorous. After the 2-hour walking tour, we still had more thoughts. I heard that they recently hired Chinese tour guides to meet the needs of Chinese tourists. If you go to Oxford, don't miss the Visit Oxford Tours walking tour!

(Translated) Thanks a lot to Laura for this fascinating tour! We had the pleasant surprise of a guide who speaks French very well and my grandparents enjoyed it very much. Oxford is a beautiful city that deserves to be explored in several days. The details and anecdotes presented during the tour are great, we could not know them without a guide. You'll learn more behind the scenes of Harry Potter but also on other fantastic universes like that of Narnia, Alice in Wonderland or the world of Tolkien. Laura is very caring with everyone and even more with the kids. She will give you ideas for the rest of your visit, do not hesitate to ask for advice to eat too: she took us to a great restaurant where we feasted!
Another big thank you and good luck.
PS: thank you for the photos they are beautiful :)
