My family and I loved the Morse, Lewis and Endeavour tour that we went on this morning. It was super informative and interesting and the weather held off pretty well. Our tour guide Heidi was brilliant and so enthusiastic! I would highly recommend for any Morse, Lewis or Endeavour fans!

Heidi made our first tour of Oxford, a treasure trove of stories, history and fun. We soaked up the real stories behind the colleges and museums, peppered with personal anecdotes, and sources of literary inspiration (who had spotted the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland in Radcliffe Square, or the street post and Aslan from the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe!?) A truly wonderful morning, and we will be back for more.

Excellent tour with Heidi whose evident enthusiasm and detailed knowledge of Morse, Lewis and Endeavour brought the tour to life. Her ability to relate stories about the different episodes as we walked around the city centre was first rate. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours.

We joined the Morse, Lewis and Endeavour walking tour last week and enjoyed it immensely. Our guide Elizabeth was extremely knowledgeable about Oxford and the various incarnations of Morse. The use of the headsets meant that everyone could hear all of the commentary when walking and exploring. Despite the occasional blizzard (!) we had a fabulous time - thank you.

We went on the Morse tour, lead by the wonderful Elizabeth who was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable about Morse, Lewis and Endeavour as well as the Colleges. We loved the personal anecdotes of her encounters with the actors whilst filming out and around beautiful Oxford. Hearing and learning about Colin Dexter, his background and personality traits and how this influenced his writing, really brought the characters to life. To state how well respected Walking Tours of Oxford is, Elizabeth attended the Colin Dexter Memorial Service. From communicating with Heidi during the booking stage where my query was dealt with promptly and in such a friendly manner, to the actual tour itself, we cannot recommend highly enough and would happily go on the tour again.

Leigh was a very friendly guide and gave an interesting Morse tour. Having not watched much Morse (but in a group of Morse fans) l was apprehensive as to what I would get out of the tour. However, Leigh’s style painted a picture for the uninitiated and made for an entertaining afternoon. Would highly recommend.

'Morse, Lewis, Endeavour Walking Tour'
Excellent tour! A 'must' if you visit Oxford. Our guide Elizabeth was friendly and knowledgeable with an engaging and enthusiastic presenting style.
She had come to know Morse creator Colin Dexter and the cast and crew of 'Lewis' and 'Endeavour' so her talk was littered with tales of 'behind the scenes' in the making of the series. Elizabeth also explained the organisation of the University colleges and history of the places visited,( making sure King James I had his full title 'and VI of Scotland'!👌)
We used personalised mics which meant we could hear Elizabeth speak and still keep social distancing if needed and could also hear clearly when we were 'on the move'. After the tour we visited a couple of the watering holes pointed out by Elizabeth. We would have missed 'The Turf' had we not done the tour! My sister and I would happily do the tour again! Thank you Elizabeth.

Heidi was an excellent guide on our walking tour of Oxford on 24 February 2022. She was extremely knowledgeable and articulate, and led us on a highly interesting and informative route, during which she pointed out a number of features within the architecture of the colleges and the city. Heidi told the story of Oxford itself as well as providing background and detail on the structure and operation of the university. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and covered the centre of town and the university, starting at Christ Church and finishing at Balliol College. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour on which we learned a great deal and would have no hesitation in recommending both the tour and our guide.

Heidi did a private walking tour for our wedding party as one of our activities on our wedding weekend and it was a massive hit with our guests! She was fantastic and gave a brilliant tour, it was fascinating to hear about Oxford along with nuggets of knowledge that you wouldn't hear anywhere else. Heidi is really engaging and tailored our tour with some fun Harry Potter facts as she knew we are big fans! Would 100% recommend!

We did the Morse/Endeavour walking tour on the 13th July with Leigh. She was fantastic - not only did she talk about the TV programmes and places they were filmed but she also gave us a great background history of Oxford. It left us wanting to know much more about this beautiful city and makes us want to go back. On a very hot day - she made this walk highly interesting and informative. A cold drink at The Randolph Hotel over the road in The Morse Bar was her most perfect tip! Thank you so much - we would highly recommend!

I did the Morse endeavour and lewis tour it was really good the tour guide was very informative and knew her history from all the programmes would reccomend this as Oxford is beautiful.

An absolutely 'must do' tour for any Morse, Lewis or Endeavor fans. Our guide Heidi was brilliant, giving an enthusiastic and very informative commentary throughout the tour. A very enjoyable tour seeing Oxford University area from ground level and through Colin Dexters eyes. Highly recommended.

We went on the Morse, Lewis and Endeavour tour on 28 July with Elizabeth. She was tremendous and gave us so much information on a lot of different places in Oxford which we visited which were connected with the three programmes. She was knowledgable, friendly, funny and had just the right amount of enthusiasm about Morseland!! She talked well with lots of stories about the characters, the actors and the storylines. A fantastic two hours! Well worth the money! Highly recommended!!

We did the Morse walking tour last week (a birthday gift for my husband who is an avid Morse fan) - an excellent experience, very informative, very interesting and a pleasure to have Heidi as our guide. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and maintained her composure when I admitted I had not watched a single episode of Endeavour/Morse/Lewis! The tour was so good that it peaked my interest in these series and I have now begun my 'marathon' viewing sessions....and am thoroughly enjoying it!

We took the walking tour of Oxford with Bella and it was fabulous. She seemed to have endless information and stories on every nook and cranny we came across. We also appreciated all the advice on other things that we should pick up on on our own. Thank you! Highly recommend

I have enjoyed several tours with Heidi from Walking Tours of Oxford and they really are excellent, informative, full of history and interesting facts and stories. Oxford is a beautiful city and there is so much more to explore than we see as we walk along the main streets. Cannot recommend highly enough, booking a walking tour, and finding out about the hidden Oxford and the university.

The Morse/Lewis tour of Oxford was very enjoyable. It was a party of about 12 people so not too unmanageable. We all had an earpiece so could hear the guide clearly without her having to shout. The information we were given about filming locations and other connections between the different series was all interesting, amusing and surprising. Our guide, Heidi, was obviously a fan of Morse and her enthusiasm shone through.

I did the Morse, Lewis, Endeavour tour with Heidi today in the pouring rain, but it was worth every soggy moment. Her knowledge is incredible, together with the personal anecdotes and the snippets about watching some of the filming in her home town. All the places we visited had meaning for us fans and Heidi included some Oxford history too. I’m a total Morse fan, and some people on the tour were maybe not so obsessed but I think they enjoyed it too and Heidi made everyone feel really welcome. She has a great personality, very professional, but also a good sense of humour. The sun came out to way the end of the tour which was the perfect end to a perfect afternoon. I highly recommend this tour to Morse, Lewis, Endeavour fans.

I arranged this tour of Morse Lewis and Endeavour for my mum after a tough year and her love of Endeavour it was perfect, Heidi was an amazing guide and an Endeavour fan was total winner! Heidi knew so much about Oxford, Morse, Lewis, Endeavour and Colin Dexter the amazing man behind Morse. I absolutely recommend Heidi she is funny helpful and absolutely lovely.nothing is too much trouble. If you do nothing else in Oxford take the tour with Heidi you won’t regret it!

I would highly recommend the Morse/Lewis/Endeavour walking tour of Oxford! Our guide Heidi was just brilliant. She made everything really interesting and her knowledge of the subject was incredible! It was also a really good way of seeing parts of Oxford and the University that we probably wouldn’t have seen otherwise!
N. B.
Excellent tour! Heidi really knows some intriguing history about this amazing place that goes beyond the superficial. We could have listened all day! Definitely recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed our Morse/Lewis/Endeavour tour today. We were a party of 4 with the oldest being 84! The rain was heavy but Heidi was so wonderful that we soon forgot all about! Heidi is obviously a fan and we all really enjoyed her insights and enjoyed participating in sharing stories. Fantastic all round - Thankyou Heidi

My husband and I had a private tour with Christine and the experience and her astonishingly broad expertise were more than we could have imagined. Her thoughtfulness to my husband due to his somewhat limited ability to walk was lovely as she skillfully guided us to areas where he might sit or lean. We feel as though we not only gained a deeper knowledge of Oxford, but made a new friend. Brava, Christine!

I couldn't wait to go on the Morse, Endeavour and Lewis tour and it didn't disappoint. Heidi was brilliant very knowledgeable not just about the shows, the characters and the plots and storylines but also throwing in about the history of Oxford. It was a very hot day and a huge thankyou to Heidi for not rushing it at all and actually took time at the end to answer questions and talk about members of the cast she met. Would recommend this tour for any fans of the shows but be warned you will need to rewatch them all again after Heidi tells you about all the easter eggs they planted. 10/10 🙂

Heidi our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what she does. She really knows her stuff, and took us for a great walk all round Oxford, pointing out all the different university buildings, she knew all their history, and knew everything there is to know about, Morse, Lewis and Endeavour. We are so pleased that we booked up to go on this tour.

We booked a couple of tours (Morse and Lewis/Tolkein) through Heidi and the whole experience was great - booking and communication was brilliant beforehand, and we had really good feedback about the tours (and guides).

Despite less than glorious weather, I did this tour based on the Morse, Lewis, Endeavour TV series with our excellent guide Heidi on 17 May/ It was possibly the best guided tour in any city that I have ever taken part in! Her knowledge of the "content" and the ease with which we were guided around the area, with detailed descriptions of the buildings appearing in different episodes - no mean feat - but also the information about the actors and links between the different stories, most of which I would never have worked out for myself! Even a non-Morse person would have been interested in hearing about the tricks of the trade turning derelict doors into enticing fake premises! If I ever find I am going to Oxford again I think I shall book the same tour if possible, well worth re-visiting the places!

We had a wonderful tour with Heidi, she was very knowledgeable not only imparting historical facts but quirky humous stories of former students and residents of Oxford. Well recommend to visitors from abroad as well as stay vaccinationers. We had ear phones and Heidi used a radio microphone so we could stay safe. Looking forward to doing the Morse Tour on our next visit.

We only had a few hours for a flying visit of Oxford and Heidi’s tour was perfect for us. Heidi is friendly, excellent company and knows her stuff! The pace of the tour was excellent - Heidi covered a lot of ground without it ever feeling rushed and she checked what our interests were at the start, so that the content suited us. Highly recommended!

Heidi is an entertaining and knowledgeable guide who took care to point out sights of significance in all three series. The time flew by and we were privileged to enter Exeter College (grounds and chapel) as well. Will never watch the programmes again without trying to spot where we have stood!

Heidi made our Oxford Morse, Louis and Endeavour walking tour extremely enjoyable. She is so knowledgable on the subject, friendly and helpful. We cannot recommend this tour with Heidi highly enough. Absolutely wonderful.

The highlight of our long weekend in Oxford. Heidi is a tour guide who really knows what she is talking about - all three TV series and the history of Oxford. Her comentary is both informative and amusing so there was never a dull moment. By the finish of an hour and three quarters that simply sped past, we wanted to go home, get out our box sets and watch the programmes all over again!

Thank you too for today’s EXCELLENT Morse tour, led by a superb lady by the name of Elizabeth Hudson-Evans. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, good-humoured and full of interesting factual information and anecdotes; she was clearly a very experienced guide and knew both Colin Dexter and the cast members of ‘Morse’, ‘Lewis’ and ‘Endeavour’. We also learnt a great deal about the university, it was truly a wonderful day out! (from Kim and Simon)

The tour was fantastic especially for fans of the shows but was enhanced with Elizabeth’s enthusiasm, knowledge, anecdotes and direct contact with the actors and writers behind the shows. It would have been good even for non enthusiasts given her vast knowledge of Oxford and it’s history. Just the right amount of time and not overly strenuous. Great experience, thanks.

Thank you so much, Leigh, for being the best guide for my family during exploring Oxford. It was a pleasure to reveal hidden features of the town and historical events.
