Reviews of Plymouth Coach Station
A. “.
This place is OK. It’s got a lot of comfortable seats to sit on even though they do get pretty cold. There is a basic tts voice every 10 minutes and it does get annoying at most.
But, it is average. Also be prepared for more Faro Reviews!
D. S.
It was nearly 3am that morning as we dropped our daughter off to catch the coach to Heathrow. Lovely experience.
P. H.
Nice,, compact. neat little coach station. Costs 30 p for a wee, but if you go next door for a takeaway coffee you can use their lavatory for free. Or do as the goth girl in front of me did........ Squirm under the barrier for free. She was probably desperate and anything to avoid a wee on the coach
P. W.
Very poor for dropping off. Toilets inside and require coins to access. Poor non existent eating area. Basically you can find yourself standing around outside with no effective cover. No electronic display showing progress of coaches.
E. F.
Early start, had two fantastic drivers for our trip Gary and Len.
Travelled to Birmingham with them. They made a sad journey more bearable as was attending my brothers funeral.
Coach 102 on the 22/11/22.
Kept us all smiling.

Due to the very bad icy conditions, the staff were on the ball warning taxis and drivers dropping people off that the road was not drivable, and to turn round.
Our bus was late, so g it cold standing outside waiting.
Otherwise, good journey, smooth and on time at Heathrow.
J. O.
Accommodating despite the pandemic. There are chairs outside for fresh air. There is a pay toilet (0.30p). The staff are helpful to give you directions etc
j. s.
It's easy to get too with plenty of car parking @ £1.30 per hour. Card only. You have to appreciate that you can travel to most Cities and airports at a lot less cost than using the train.
M. B.
Nice for a coach station. Clean and tidy. Little coffee shop and internal seating too. Staff have been friendly on the few occasions I've had to speak with them. Toilets cost 20p however
O.
Easy to locate, very nice and clean, just what you would expect a coach station to be like
N. B.
Clean and tidy place, staff are helpful. Unfortunately you have to pay to go to the bathroom really it's just a quick way to get to the coach station, everything is clearly laid out, I believe the throughway closes around 8pm
L. A.
Very nice, clean and cosy please
People are helpful and very kind. Thx to Bev for her great job!
R. B.
It was OK.. 30p for the toilets and half the stands and seating area unavailable due to maintenance...had to go off site to find food and drink in our hour lay over...let new customers onto the coach before all the previous ones had returned. A whole family of five had their seats taken..thankfully others on the coach moved around so that the adults could be with the kids...bad organisation, as normally previous users are told to be back 10 mins before dep time so they are all sitting before new passengers board...and that's just this visit other visits have been worse..
L. L.
Just a place where buses can be boarded, about 10 places in all.
No facilities as such, although there's a stand alone street toilet.
I only got into it because I have a radar key 🔑
It was awful!!! Filthy!!!!
P.
Great service to Heathrow and very good for long haul flights when you are away for a few weeks
L. I. (. ا.
Very organised place very clean prices are reasonable the staff are very kind and helpful it is said that at night there is not any beverage or vending machine we struggle a lot to find a bottle of water for the children having said that all the staff were excellent and helpful
A. G.
Not to crowded and easy to locate. The staff service is very good and supporting.
For local ride prefer bus or cab. No uber service available.
A. C.
So Plymouth, no refreshments a 30p toilet and no idea when the coach was arriving. Geddon Boyz! Took me straight back to Bretonside and that overpowering smell of urine...a real right of passage
F. L.
It alright just a few stores around of you fancy to grab something for you journey on the coach
o. o.
Very easy to find. Not far from Plymouth university and there service is ok.
P.
Despite the early start, the bus was punctual and staff friendly, polite and professional
L. M.
Very clean. Lovely staff and funny too. They'll lift your spirit n forget about the tiresome long ride.
J.
Charging £0.30 to use the toilet is ridiculous at this day & age. At least it's all open 24hrs though.
M. S.
Arrived early to get the national express coach back to bham, although they have an inside seating area no cafe was open, so if you are travelling early then try and pack your drink and snack before the journey, you should also be aware that you have to pay 30p per toilet visit.
S. M.
First time I've used the new bus station. Not too bad.
S. S.
You have to pay to go toilet which is terrible especially at 2am in the morning from a coach journey, there is no vending machine for water tea or coffee, it would be great if they put one there
F. U. (.
Never been inside, but the staff I met were very kind friendly and supportive.
T. B.
Small but efficient. Clean and tidy. Nice staff.
A. G.
The new coach station is a massive improvement. It is clean, tidy and well lit, with free toilets inside the building and well marked out bays.
N. C.
Booked tickets for next year.
Tanya couldn't have been more friendly and helpful!!
G. S.
Staff were really helpful and friendly
L. P. E.
Small, tidy and right in the city center.
A. S.
Went there to take a bus to back to Bristol
Was a nice place
And there are seats available for people to sit outside while they wait for the bus
C. H.
Great service the National Express worker was very helpful and looked after us well
G. P.
The access to the toilet could allow the use of a card / contactless payment rather than only accepting coins
S. S.
Easy to navigate around , clean and spacious but nothing special
A. R.
It's a coach station. I drove in and loaded passengers and left again but staff were helpfully to me
J. P.
Very helpful, especially assist me to get me to OYO early hours of the morning. A huge thank you and also instructions to bus stop later that morning.
J. M.
There for taxi pick up it looks fairly clean and well kept the night I was there the information board was not working but the bus was on time
R. O.
It does its job. Use it frequently to Bristol and occasionally to London. Understandable, but sad that the toilet is pay to use, drop off parking could be better.
M. O.
A perfect coach station where the staff are friendly and look after your needs if you are Disabled or Not and make sure you get on the right coach so as you enjoy your journey.
D. B.
It's a coach station, public transport I mean what could go wrong 🥴
C. T. C. E.
Very helpful staff with good facilities and plenty of shops and Cafe's nearby .
l. h. a. l. t. g.
Pretty much straight forward. Coach arrived on on time. Social distance very well organised and respected. Definitely checking temperature before boarding. Respectful drivers no doubt. However the coach station could use a bit of cleaning. The electronic information board was not working as at 7 am. Don't why ,unless its no longer in use.
I. E.
It's ok, just dont like tht you hv to pay to use the toilets
L. H.
Not a bad coach station staff seemed helpful, lots of room outside by the coaches but not tons of seating inside so if it's raining might be a hard to get a seat
C. T.
OK but have to pay for toilet so go on the bus
S. N.
Didn't go inside, but nice covered outside seating available.
B. N.
At the moment the waiting area inside is closed after a certain time in the afternoon as they are short staffed so you're unable to use the toilet facilities. The toilet which is by the waiting outside area was also closed. There is no staff on site from late afternoon too help or assist you unfortunately. Hopefully, if all services resume full time, you will be able too have a better experience.
N. B.
Im a regular at the station , security guy at station (jim) is a very nice helpfully guy a credit to the company, the station is warm &better then the old one could do with some sort of drinks machine
J. W.
The coach station needs more signs to tell the public that it's in Plymouth!since it moved from breckinside the old bus station. The new station is nice inside.when the doors are shut u have to walk around and if u don't know Plymouth well you can miss the turn and mis the bus..more signs please!apart from this National express is cheep and slow seats are not that nice to seat on for long journeys
S. N.
Coach came on time, really friendly staff, however the paid toilets outside were jammed, and the indoor bathroom was closed, which isn't ideal when you've just been sat on a coach for 6 hours and you really need to use the bathroom.
H. W.
Clean and tidy. I think signage could be improved for people visiting Plymouth and limited indoor space if weather is bad.
C. M.
Staff very helpful. We took National Express to Brístol, IT was very very cold inside the bus
C. T.
Despite it being late at night when I arrived and early in the morning when I left the staff was friendly and approachable! One gentleman, a bus driver, was taking a couple of elves around with him and taking photos for his son, it was really sweet!
G. S.
Small place. Plymouth had better, deserves better.
M. W.
Very friendly staff and nice and clean
J. B.
Went to buy a ticket, the lady who was working there was very helpful and friendly. Seemed well organised in the station, announcements on loudspeaker were clear making people aware for their safety and what coaches were arriving.
I. W.
Needs more information for out of hours stops. I arrived waiting for a conection with no info on when the conection would arrive or available toilets and ony outside seats that you could not use as thay where wet.
S. T.
Nice but nothing on the old bus station
O. H.
Clean, has paid toilets, vending machine, tiny coffee shop and a bench. Tiny place.
C. T.
Comfortable and clean. Grateful to have somewhere to wait in comfort for the middle of the night coach
P. T.
Staff super helpful, safety conscious good experience
R.
Coach station with several marked lanes for coaches arriving from /departing to various designations with pay & display car park just behind coach area, on left if entering by car. Public waiting room available inside, along with timetable notification display boards, snacks & beverages kiosk & payable public toilets.
S. B.
Clean bathrooms with a 30p entrance charge. Friendly security on site even at 4am
L. S.
Not much in the way of facilities, but coach was spot on time and made good time on the journey. but tucked out if the way but staff were available to help
K. e.
It's looking nice but people sometimes leave rubbish on the chairs. There's plenty of places to sit and few clocks. There's also a roof above your head but is located so high you'll still get wet underneath it.
M. P.
You can grab loads of Coaches from this depot to North, South, West, East
R. B.
Very open air, didn't see any signs for toilets, we were only there for 10 mins for connecting bus
S. C.
Not a lot available in terms of food etc. It is right in the middle of the city centre so if you are travelling in the day and have time, you can find whatever you need but if you are travelling in the evening or night, there is very little available. Stock up before you go!
s. e.
Does what it says on the tin. Kind security guard.
A. M.
Have visited here a couple of time recently to pick up and drop off someone. The coaches have arrived on time and have departed on time so very efficient. They have a small waiting room and like the rest of the coach station is very tidy. There is a parking area to leave your car to pick someone up although you do need to pay to park.
G. R.
Small coach station with seating inside. Toilets cost 30p. Refreshments are available sometimes. Staff here are helpful and informative.
L.
Clean, tidy, bus on time, helpful staff
L. U.
Located in the city centre, Plymouth coach station is the terminal for National Express and Megabus coaches into and out of Plymouth. Its indoor space is rather small, and has since been closed to the public due to the pandemic. There is, however, some seating space just outside, close to the bay gates, where passengers can wait for the coaches to arrive, which they do right on time. As activities gradually return to normal, more coach seats, destinations and stops are becoming available, once more reducing the transportation hassles experienced at its peak during COVID. I'm glad to be able to ride the coaches again.
j. m.
Fabulous service, amazing staff, very well run xxx
R. J.
Much better improvement from the previous one at Brentonside
R. H.
A modern upgrade that was well needed! It provides a warm dry place to wait, with toilets (30p charge) and a small shop. The announcements are loads and the layout is clear enough not to be missing coaches!
d. b.
This bus station is a lot smaller than Victoria station the waiting area is more like the size of a doctor's waiting room. it has a toilet that cost you 30p to use and there is one security guard and there is one kiosk that sells sweets etc which was closed when I got there because I got there at 5:30 in the morning and there is doors that lead out into the main shopping area which is in the photo and there was not one person walking about I was not used to that at all but it was clean and it was quiet
R. H.
Has a few seats. Help desk and food and coffee. And public rest room that cost 20p. Is open all night and has security on the evening so you can feel safe with your bags when you have a wait at midnight for your connecting bus in a city centre location.
R. W.
Had no problems with the place..
K. S.
Coach station itself is rather nice, with a little cafe and seats to sit and relax whilst your coach is on the way. The actual national express is a whole different thing. Yeah pretty standard but somewhat cozy too
G. R. C.
The coach station is ok and clean!
K. H. (.
Although this is my local coach station, I have not been since they moved site's a few years back. Much improved from the old site, easy to access, clean and pleasant, and the staff were lovely, especially the driver and co-driver on the coach to Bristol, it was my daughter's first trip alone and I was very impressed with the drivers as when she arrived at Bristol they made sure she made her connection by escorting her to the next coach, so so happy with the service, thank you.
C. K.
It's ok and clean to sit down at.
A.
Went to pick my sister up but she got off at the wrong stop at 2am, a security man at the station helped me locate her through what she saw around her and recommend a taxi to get her to the right place.
A. S.
Very nice, clean and organised. Personally I had no clue there was a coach station before I had to travel with NE. Every time I've passed it I thought it was a nice fancy shop. I admit that I didn't read the name either, not before I started to travel from here.
E. A.
One of the best, friendly , helpful and kept clean and tidy - Thank you everyone.
A. D.
I'm glad the city has gone through the effort of building a new bus station as the previous one was depressing and dull. This bus station is placed right next to all the highstreet shops making it easier to find for people. I've used this station a number of times and never had a problem with it. The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is that you have to pay to use the toilets.
L. M.
A simple walk from front door to waiting area with a handy shop to the stands.
Very helpful staff. Before my trip I went in to ask for some help/advice about changing the first half of my journey and the lovely lady at the counter swiftly solved my problem with a smile.
P. J.
Very nice place to work.
A. B.
It's a great new coach station. The only downside are the eye-catching roofs at the back of the station. When it rains they are not much use, especially, because there is normally at least a bit of wind in Plymouth. You will get soaked anyway
T. P.
Looks clean and tidy. Only 1 ticket office but also has 2 auto booking machines 1 accepts cash or card the other only cards. Seating, coffee shop and toilets inside with some seating near the bus stops.
J. R.
Falcon on time driver so helpful, coach station is well kept and easy to find.
H. A.
Three lovely workers fast tracked my ticket saved me hours of travel.
amazing service
D. I. V.
Too late to give a review
S. T.
It's OK for what it is, how exciting can you be about a bus station 😂
K. B.
The bus station was OK, but cold and draughty. However, the Falconbus waa over 20 minutes late.
S.
This coach station is easy to get to and not overwhelming large.staff very helpful and has little coffee shop and it's right near shops etc.parking available and easy to use.the only down side is has toilets but you have to pay to use....but I also understand why.good coach routes too
A. D. d. P.
I think is an improvement compare with the old bretonside (as other users have pointed out), however the Taxi car drop off could be better and probably more lanes for the buses? The info point its not bad, and its nice to stay in when there is bad weather. Its sn improvement, but its not amazing.
M. R.
Very clean and staff around to deal with enquiries. Plus toilets and coffee bar.
S. A.
Very good food options but chargeable restrooms are a put off
A. J.
Friendly coach drivers and a well organised space to travel from.... Obviously things are just getting back on stream since covid, but I prefer it to the old Bretonside coach station by far....
S. J.
Peaceful during evening and night hours one entrance and exit since covid. Quiet and relaxing when waiting for coach
A. S.
Nice waiting room and toilet facilities although you have to pay? As per what other reviews have said....there is little cover outside now so prepare to get wet if raining...we were lucky though!
M.
Much better than the previous bus station, it is comfortable and have a couple of shops for refreshments until your coach arrives :) the toilets are not free (30p)
R. M.
The coach station has easy city centre access. However, if it is raining heavily you have to wait inside the coach station building. The roof structures over the stops are of poor design and do not cover the stops entirely meaning that you get wet when waiting. Also, the departure boards are very prone to breaking and they are normally inaccurate.
R. R. R.
Excellent helpful staff
S. I.
For a coach station it's not bad,30p for toilets is over priced but when youve been on a coach for hours youve no choice, usually have to shell out 60p depending on when my connection due but at least they're always clean!!
A.
Such a huge improvement over the old bretonside bus station, feels safe, modern and clean. Doesn't make you feel like an outcast from society like the old coach station did, the new coach station is much less mad max.
J. S.
It's bleak but functional
A. G.
Had a good experience.
T. R.
Could to with a cafe or something here.
C. N.
Staff very helpful
D. C.
Passed through on way to holibobs expensive for soft drinks
J. F.
A nice small coach station. Modern building with toilets, seating & a place to buy snacks & a coffee etc. There's a new car park for collecting and dropping off passengers.
B. B.
It's okay! The location is quite small, but never too full. It also has a toilet which is useful and a Hi Coffee long waits.
L. B.
This Coach Station is a great improvement on the old one at Bretonside.
The immediate impression is clean and safe.
The Station is small but contains all necessary facilities.
E. D.
The station itself is good, located in the city center. I was disappointed because it is not possible to buy a bottle of water - there are vending machines, but they only have coke and lemonade. Fortunately there is a Spar store nearby, it is possible to buy water there
D. T.
Clean surroundings, lovely city, helpful people. The coach services were good.
M. S.
Bit drab but it does what it says on the tin
P. E.
First coach journey Plymouth - london
Very cheap definitely using this method more in the future
A. B.
Will update my review when I actually catch a coach. Having popped in to see what £5million gets you.
Seems a lot of money to achieve so little.
If half of that amount had been spent on Bretonside we would have had a superb coach station where all coaches could drop off and pick up.
A year on and I am still not impressed but the Falcon coach service is ideal to get to exeter or Taunton for free with bus pass.
M. P.
Surprisingly clean , considerably spacious considering its at the far end of the car park.pleasantly surprised
s. r.
Good, clean and nice staff to help in boarding and drops
C. T.
Nice area and space to have luggage and wait for coach arrival, nice staff around the coach boarding area and very clear on where to go and be where you're meant to be.
J. j. (.
More modern than the old one,but a bit on the small side, staff helpful and ticket prices very reasonable though .no shelter outside though if it's raining .
O. H.
Close to the library and the library is close to the Ireland store. Nice place
J. T.
Friendly and helpful staff
P. R.
Very nice place to visit
T. W.
Little small but good acess to the city
A. O.
Nice and clean, shop and cafe closed at night. Toilets are 30p to use. Machine to purchase tickets online by card payment.
C. W.
clean good facilities. Except you have to pay to go to the toilet. I know this is normal now but in such a small place I didn't expect this
G. B.
Staff avaliable to help not too crowded today
E.
It's a coach station. They've done it up. There are seats and buses and the odd shop. Dunno what else to say really.
R. “. i. t. s. G.
A vast improvement on the old Bretonside bus and coach station. Much more accessible and central with a small indoor waiting area with shop, toilets, help desk etc.
S. S.
Not much in the way of facilities but fairly efficient boarding
P. S.
Sorry not impressed. Information cloes early. No where to buy water, snacjs or coffee unless you go into the cafe next door which also closes early. No where for visiting coaches, very sad
D. L.
Ideal for picking people up after their travels, information centre closed and not busy.
C. M.
Pretty looking but really pointless over head triangular sheltered loading area for the coaches offers no protection from the element's what so ever but 10 out of 10 for effort
J. D.
Limited hours of staffing.
Needing coins for 30p to go to the loo....really?!?!
G. R.
OK nothing much to say
B. W.
Quite nice as a bus station. But was rather suprised to find you have to pay 30p to use the toilet facilities.
C. Q.
Have to pay 30p for toilet
S. H. C.
Warm waiting area, albeit a bit small. Plenty of pay and display spaces. Shelter for poor weather outside.
e. a. h.
Clean and buses are on time most of the time
I.
Very nest and tidy. The new bus station is a great improvement on the old one. Its much easier for all to navigate and catch their coaches.
S. S.
It's a coach station, the cafe was shut n u have to pay to have a piddle!!
J. B.
Coach late then had to wait for driver to have his break
J. H.
Small bit clean and organised - not really fair that you have to pay to pee there but then I think that about all toilets at all bus / train stations
L. R.
Clean and well lit... female travelling alone
N. “. M.
Situated in a decent place as long as you leave enough time for your coach ypu can buy anything for your long journey
L. C.
Good services, and staff are friendly, services aren't open 24/7 but it's nice to have somewhere inside and warm to sit while waiting for a coach.
L. S.
Great place, needs more shelter and toilets open
G. V.
Much improved in recent years( it was possibly the worst in the UK) Has basic facilities and is handy for the town centre.
A. P.
The waiting room is only open till 5pm and then you have to wait at the back in the cold
V. H.
Outside toilet cubicle that requires payment to use. Often the timetables are incorrect and the staff on hand appear to know less than the incoming travellers.
J. D.
Plymouth was exciting visited the aquarium well worth a visit once your in its exciting but can lose your way up and down lifts trying to get out lol
C.
Dropped son off to go back to University. Nice when everything runs smoothly :)
J. D.
Indoors waiting and ticket office closed due to travel restrictions. Seating outside available, go up past library, pass Iceland then turn left then left again to get there. Amazon locker Waltz outside sill available.
M. M.
Small but easy accessable toilet and a coffe shop and clean and comfortable seating
J. W.
Clean and warm but would have like free toilets after a long coach journey
S. T.
Good location with adequate parking. Not much in the way of facilities and the indoor waiting area is small.
W. K.
Bus driver and his mate were overdoing everything
A.
Solid coach station with good support staff and security
D. B.
Could do with a late night snack place close by or hot drink machine. It's a coach station not the best on a cold wet night
N. B.
Extremely Clean, very efficient and friendly Staff
S. H.
Helpful and friendly even early doors 😊 just have change if you need the toilet
L.
Clean, tidy and quiet at midnight.
A. A.
It's too small and no facilities.
M.
Always clean and the buses are on time.
H. M.
Visitors beware this stop off is a outside waiting area for the coaches. Check the weather for the area that day and come equipped.
l. q.
It's cheap travel to me in place of a train which is very expensive.
N. E.
Since it has been redeveloped it is such a nice place to visit. It put's you right in the city center very nice indeed
D. M.
Everything u need in one place for a quick stop on our 12 hour travel
V. M.
Small and efficient. The platforms can be viewed from Plymouth library if you were waiting for a delayed coach to arrive.
T. E.
Much better and you feel much safer than the old one plus you right on the Drake shopping centre
M. V.
