We booked Ivans UK Tours so that me and members of my family could travel to Falmouth in Cornwall. It was only a short trip but Ivan took all the hassle out of it. He booked a lovely hotel for us just outside the town. We took a scenic route to Falmouth avoiding the motorway and enjoyed a picnic that Ivan had provided for us by Tintern Abbey. On the second day we visited Falmouth and the University there. Ivan was very helpful taking his time to show us interesting places to visit. On the final day we travelled up the motorway but stopped off at Bovisand Bay near Plymouth. I had wanted to go back there after visiting in the past. Ivans driving skills were great as he drove the minibus down the Devon lanes.
After such a pleasant experience we intend to book his tour service again.

Had a nice and interesting hike today with Ivans UK Tours. We hiked from Arbor Low Stone Circle via Lathkill Dale to Youlgreave where we had a decent meal in the local pub.
Despite the rainy and windy weather, it was a nice adventure and lovely hike through the Lathkill Dale river valley. Ivan showed us several interesting caves and a lead mine and hiking along the crystalclear water of the river Lathkill made for a really worthwhile experience.
The only small downside of the hike was that it took longer than initially expected, 4 hours instead of 2. But the delayed arrival in Youlgreave was very much rewarded with a good and delicious meal in the local pub, George Hotel Youlgreave.
All in all, it was a pleasant day out and I am happy to have joined. Thank you very much for organising, Ivan.

A TRIP TO ORKNEY:
The Best Bits!
1.Orkney itself: the landscape - sea, lochs, mountains, cliffs, remoteness; seabirds and animals. Also the glimpses of a past way of life : the little cafe in a shed on Hoy and its lovely food, the old kirk/ heritage centre on Hoy, the Italian Chapel, Skaill House, St. Magnus cathedral, the little shops tucked away in remote places where you can buy almost anything, but mostly, for me, the wealth of prehistoric archaeology everywhere!
2,Quality of our accommodation : probably the best holiday home I have ever stayed in : stylish, modern, spacious, well equipped and comfortable and a joy to come back to at the end of the day.
3.The services provided by our tour guide : these included pre- planning, route finding, pre- booking of all sorts inc. ferries ,
admissions to neolithic burial chambers etc., navigation and driving, and providing breakfast.(yay!)
In addition, pick-up from and return to home was provided and help with luggage - a much appreciated service .
4.A flexible service: A road
journey to the far north of Scotland and beyond is long and arduous but our journey was punctuated by regular stops and breaks in places where there were things of interest en route: castles, the Kelpie horse statues, viewpoints and picnic stops, rivers and lochs, cafes and bookshops.
5.A competent tour guide : the success of this trip relied largely on the qualities of Ivan: his organisational skills, his driving skills and his ability to get along with awkward or non- awkward customers alike. In my opinion, he excelled in his approach to this venture. He was at all times effective, accommodating, hardworking, tolerant and always pleasant and good humoured.
Thank you, Ivan. We had a wonderful holiday.

Myself and the group had an absolute blast of a day around Bakewell with Ivan! Ivan gives off a great happy go lucky vibe, being fun, polite and thoughtful of his guests. You can quickly see that he’s experienced in hiking and even more so, passionate about it. Currently on the works of another adventure with Ivan, around the Lake District, very excited!
