Did not know what to expect, but was blown away by the guide. The stories and history was fascinating. I have not laughed and had such a good time in a while. Nice way to explore a little bit of Central York. Great for small children to join as well. I will definitely be telling my friends, family, and coworkers about this experience. I think it is worth coming to York just for this! I will come back with new people!.

Excellent historical and informative ghost walk through the fantastic city of York. The tour guide was absolutely exceptional. We are not from York, so the fact the tour was on really made our time in the city fantastic. Plus as the tour guide was from York, we got some really good recommendations for places to eat and other executing things to do in the city. Would highly recommend, both me and my Wife had a fantastic evening.

Alright if you do a ghosthunt in York make it this one! The guide was fantastic! As a performer myself I can say it takes a lot for me to not think of the 'backstage' and enjoy the experience but he really managed to get me enwrapped. The tour was really fun, he had impcable humour and he managed to make us all suspend our disbelief even though we did the tour in the middle of summer, in plain daylight and on one of the hottest days in the Uk. Even despite all of this some of the stories really chilled us (at least something did) he combined the fun superstious side of ghost stories with a bit of history as well and all jokes aside he was amazing!

The tour was entertaining, factual and quick paced. Stopping off at 5 different ghost sightings, the audience were involved, it was very funny and also very sad regarding the stories being told. Definitely worth booking onto.

A fun little romp, although we arrived on time and couldn't find our guide - we think our group left a little early. We found them but were accused of freeloading and struggled to find a chance to explain we had bought tickets. When we did show proof, this went kind of unacknowledged? Made the experience a little stiff and uncomfortable after that, although the guide was a great character. Fun for kids and families.

We had the Ghost Hunt of York tour tonight. The tour guide is theatrical and hilarious. He is very good at getting a large group of all ages to engage with the spooky fun.

NOT little kid friendly. Though for 12s and up, or adult parties a good time. Giving three stars as no punches were pulled and seemed to be accentuated, for a small overall outing with two under 8s with most stories about small children dying by accident, purposeful abandonment, or mass murder.

Great tour, excellent guide very enthusiastic, really kept in character and was funny. It was very cold though standing outside for about an hour so if you are visiting in winter months I would definitely recommend you wrap up warm! Very entertaining though and would highly recommend

We had really bad weather and some perfectly timed thunder whilst on the guided walk. Although the guide was very entertaining, I thought we would have found out a bit more about the dark side of York. Possibly rushed a bit because of the weather. Was good value for money though and it’s one of those things to do when in York.

Great value for money. Really entertaining with laughter and spooky stories. The guide made sure everyone could hear and see him. I would recommend to others. There was approx. 40 in the group and it took about 1 hrs 45 minutes. Great entertainment.

If you're in it purely for factual descriptions of ghost tales, this is not the tour for you. If you want to have a good time, laugh a lot, and see a little bit of York on foot, then definitely do this. We just got back from a big trip of the entire country and this tour was one of our favorite parts.

Brilliant fun for the family and a chance to learn about the grottier side of York's history. Some gruesome murders were brought to life by our guide who managed to entertain and herd a large Easter holiday crowd through the cobbled streets. Spooky rather than scary, often very funny and well worth the money. There are lots of ghost walks - this one leaves from the top of The Shambles at 7.30pm.

Wasn't sure what to expect with this, but it was absolutely brilliant, best thing we did in York all weekend. Would highly recommend this hunt there are others but you can see why this is rated the best. The other hunts that where going on had about 10 people with them there was about 30/40 on this one and once you've experienced it, it's easy to see why. Starts at half 7 at top of the shambles and is £6 per adult and £5 for children, will definitely be doing this again.

My partner and I joined the Ghost Hunt of York with our dog, Teddy. Our tour guide arrived promptly on time and took us on a wonderful tour of the ghost tales of York. As we were a small group, he made extra stops to show us little details of York that we would have otherwise of missed. We learnt a lot about York's hauntings and enjoyed our hosts entertaining demeanor! The "special effects' were quite something too. Really want to know how he did the knife trick! A great time all round and would thoroughly recommend. Puppy approved too.

This is not a shiver in your boots, super scary ghost tour. If that's what you're after try another. Nether the less, whilst the stories have a spooky undertone this is a great piece of theatre and suitable for all. The guide never broke character and clearly has a passion for the arts. No concerns with larger group and not being able to hear/see. A good bit of fun and worth the small cost. Definitely recommend doing the latest session.

We met up with our tour guide and was really looking forward to finding out the history of york but whilst we were looking for our tickets online on our phone we lost the group (idiots) so the following day we messaged andy to explain.. he was very understanding and very kindly refunded our money plus the booking fee.. we didnt expect that at all as it was completely our faults.. we will definately be booking for a future trip

I’ve lived in York for a year now and have finally made the time to be a tourist and can honestly say that this ghost tour was THE MOST fun I’ve had in the past year!! The guide was witty, fun and kept everyone in the crowd involved (all while keeping social distancing measures). This tour definitely won’t scare you, but I was laughing to the point of tears at some points in the tour. The stories told are very interesting and all ages of people, from young children to older adults, enjoyed this tour!! I can’t recommend it enough!! Who knows, I may do it again!!

I've been on this ghost tour numerous times since I was a child and I love it. I recently went on it and enjoyed it just as much this time as I did the first time despite knowing what was coming. It is funny and intriguing. The guide is brilliant. Having been on most of the ghost tours in York I can honestly say this is my favourite one. I highly recommend it for both adults and children. You won't be disappointed.

I have been on a couple of Ghost Walks in York, which were very good, but this one on my opinion is by far the most entertaining one. We went on Saturday night. The group was very very large, but the young guide expertly led us around without disrupting traffic. He was very funny and kept us entertained throughout the performance with stories, jokes and an amazing conjuring trick. There is a lot of audience participation, which was fun. The guide is an excellent actor and entertainer. If you have a sense of fun, and enjoy a good ghost story, this is the ghost walk for you. Very reasonably priced at £6 adults and £4 children.

Me and my partner were walking through the shambles in York when we were approached by a very odd man in a top hat and cloak who gave us a leaflet for a ghost Hunt. Now, I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to this kind of thing but my partner loves it, so we decided to go along after dinner. I wasn't expecting much but what I did get was a very enjoyable tour that had me gripped all the way through. The tour guide, who's name I forget, was fantastic and didn't break character at any point.

I think it's more aimed at children than adult. to be fair was entertaining in a funny way definitely don't go for any actual true stories.i have a bit of a phobia about touching people and closeness to strangers and this set my anxiety right off first where told to all stand close together in a corner, hold hands ect really not my thing. Lots of walking with not much stories think £4 would be a better price.

I enjoyed this walk. The weather was absolutely appaling. Raining the whole time - despite this the guide was engaging, on time, funny and talented (from a drama point of view.) Looks like he could be a member of the Sutherland dynasty (Donald, Keifer et al). Don't think it would ever deserve a one star rating as some have left !?! Was happy to pay, most activities in York are overpriced but this was perfectly reasonable. I've been on another one in York previously but this was better of the two.

The staff were actually lovely but the food wasnt great. I ordered 3 egg omelette which was really small and chose salad instead of chips because I'm dieting. The salad came with a dressing all over which I didn't ask for and couldn't eat and ended up paying £9 for what looked like 2 eggs ... husband had a panini which wasn't bad but quite dry and baby's food was good.
