The tour bus is a great way to see the city. You can negotiate a little on the price. The top desk gives the better views. Keep your eyes open for the cats. You can get off and on as often as you want, our driver was very humorous.

Really worth doing as you get all the information as you drive along the sights. Its a hop on hop off service which is great. If you have any trouble getting around this is the perfect way to see York. You can just sit for a hour and take in the view. We took our little dog on the bus and she loved it too.

Excellent tour at a very good price. I took it with my husband and 2 kids and it was very informative, entertaining and a welcomed pause after a day of walking around. Nick, the guide was very knowledgeable and we all learned lots! Actually, I would recommend to start with the tour so then you can have the time to enjoy each of the stops from the beginning or plan visits to the places you found more interesting.

Great Hop On Hop Of bus service to enjoy and experience York City from an open top bus. Although this ride is included in your york pass you will have to collect your ride ticket from its exhibition square stop. One trip of the entire york city takes around 45 min and you will get a bus every 15 mins. I would say this is must if you don't have your own transport. Recorded audio guide was good but it would very intresting if they can arrange for some live guide.

The Hop-on-hop-off bus tour is a must do if you are interested in history. The live guide will tell you all sorts of information about York as well as sayings.

An excellent place for a short break. My ideal programme: Start your day in York with : A lovely pastry and coffee outside the beautiful Minster.(The East End) There are two excellent outdoor coffee shops. Go to the West end of church and ask for directions to the nearbyTour of York bus stop. Normal advertised price is £16 per person.( Ask politely for their lowest price and you may get a discount price of £10 each ...keep that to yourself though!) Enjoy this great guided bus tour...do it as many times as you like in 24hours. Now have a gentle walk along the amazing Shambles, visit the Shambles Market and then have lunch by the River Ouse, either your own lunch or a bought one. Enjoy visits to the lovely parks or go for a FREE visit to the National Railway museum. ( A mans paradise, sorry ladies...although you would love the Pullman carriages on show) Walk along the city wall...that's a lovely experience. There is loads more to see and do...even a Fashion Outlet on the A64 !. You will love a weekend in York. Dont tell too many people though or the queues will be too long.

Friendly and lovely staff- the bus driver and the presenter. Not so long journey, I think about 50 minutes for a full round (only about 4 to 5 stops people hopping off and on during my round). Did few rounds with stopping at different attractions. Did learn a lot from the talk on the bus.

This was a great tour of york and chance to see famous parts of york. The tour was very interesting and great photo opportunity and great way to get around. The staff were friendly and helpful. Weather was damp but still enjoyed. Only thing would have made better would be live tour guide as find these are better and more entertaining.

I really enjoy the journey in the bus. For one hour you can rapidly visit York and know about its history. But I have an important requirement, the service of buses and boats needs scan code machines because they are still asking for printed tickets. Then you need to go first to the visitor center even when you have online tickets. But at the end of the journey I recommend dropping off at Art Gallery and having a delicious ice cream Fresh For You Daily.

For £16 each, I thought this tour was a little expensive for what it was.

Decided to take the open top bus tour around York. It was great for seeing the sights and to get some history about the place. I stayed on for the whole route and then I used it to travel to the areas that I was interested in walking around. Good fun.

This is included with the York Pass which is great otherwise would’ve been a bit disappointed paying full price (£16 for adults). Very interesting ride takes about 1 hour for the full loop but once you’ve done it I don’t think you’d need to do it again as York is very much walking distance to everything. Exhibition Square great location to walk a nice section of the city wall after.

Not the cheapest bus ride but it certainly gave our legs a rest and made exploring York a lot easier and was a great way to see and hear about the city. We also had a good view from upstairs. Certainly the best way to see all the city wall if limited for time and have tired children in tow which we did. They would never have seen anywhere near as much without the bus ride.

Very enjoying ride like a guided tour. It gives you earphones to know about the places it crosses so that you may not miss anything. You can enjoy the open bus on upper deck or cosy at the lower deck. We took ride in upper deck feeling the wind. The best part is you can get down anywhere and board again. The ticket is valid for 24 hours for any bus.

Pricey for what it is. Guides can be wonderful and full of little snippets of interesting information or just going through the motions its pot luck which type you get they also have the audio guide rather than a real life guide on some buses. Either drop the price or make it a 48hr rather than 24hr ticket to give better value for money. Lots of walking tours are available in York that go into far more detail.

Our historian was a young lad called Tom, he was very informative and comical too, need to go round twice as different things are said on each journey, very good and worth the money.

I have been on around 8 tours in different cities, this was one my favourite. The tour was full of history and York was a beautiful place to visit. The bus was very clean, friendly driver and plenty of seats to choose from. Would highly recommend with or without children.

Friendly drivers who offer help and adv8ce to get best from ticket. A nice paced informative tour. Takes about an hour to get right round. I got to see more of york than I would have without doing this tour. It was part of the york pass when I was there which was great. It really puts a link between many if the sights and museums in York. Felt it could have mentioned a couple of others that it passes such as bar convant but it dies cram quite a bit it already.

You will of course get some extra information, but for transport it is better to buy a day ticket on the bus for about 5 UK pounds. (Original) Ik vond de hop-on hop-off bus een beetje tegenvallen. Het centrum van York is klein en per voet kom je makkelijk overal. Je krijgt natuurlijk wel wat extra info, maar voor transport kan je beter voor circa 5 UK pond een dagkaart op de bus kopen.
