One of the best decisions I have made while staying in Birmingham is living at Hamcam,, I swear I left with tears in my eyes, during the Covid-19 pandemic this place become my home, the staff are so so friendly more like family... Emma, Joanne, Lucy and Kim, you are the BEST.
If I can give more than 5 stars I will... Best place and people ever.
The price is affordable and I got the bus pass deal which was perfect, its only 20-30 min from the city centre. I stayed in the halls; shared the kitchen with other students and the bathroom. Also, Hamcam have the best view ever, its so green and beautiful, feels like you are surrounded by nature. 100% highly recommended, it's the best.

Living at Ham Cam halls was definitely the best choice I made. It is a calm and safe place on the outskirts of Birmingham. It feels nice to be able to leave the centre and get out of University environment. A bus pass is included in the rent, and it also allows you to explore! I feel that I know much more of Birmingham than my friends that lived in the University dorms. I also get to know a lot of different people, from different countries. The shared kitchen is really nice to get to know each other, have meals together, and just chat. The security guards and the office staff are also very nice and helpful! And there is a pub and even Zumba classes once per week. To make it even better, the views and the place are beautiful. There are even squirrels living in the gardens! You are surrounded by nature and just 30 minutes away from the centre. I 100% recommend.

Such friendly staff. I choose this place because it was the only one I could afford with my student loan and still have a bit of money left over! £75 a week including all bills is very good value compared to other places I looked. Alright it's not in the city centre but you do get a free bus pass.
I loved all the outside space in the summer and even in the snow!! This is my second and final year, just wish I knew about this place sooner, could have saved a fortune on first year halls!

This is purely student town. Most students are undergrads but some post grads also. All possible facilities are there such as good canteen, games courts, huge lawns, laundry center, gym, access to public transport just 2 mins walk from gate. 4 bed apptt had 2 bathrooms. If you are in Birmingham in a small building situated uni for studies only then compensate the life of a student by being in a proper campus. This place is large enough to become a university itself. I just loved being there and miss it a lot. The cost is lowest living cost and you get huge lawns, free transport card for the whole year, plus sports facilities including big enough campus to have two rounds and your jogging run is complete. Rooms are all double bed sized, table and chair and two door small almirah. Heating is super duper. Lighting might be just one bulb only but you have a table lamp. Bug window that opens up to good green pasteur view. Absolutely good secure and high security provided. The area it is in has all types of international shops, indian, pakistani halal and aldi and what not. Plus a 10 mins walk and you are in soho road area which is a major market area to buy anything such as clothes, fresh groceries, fruits, mops and every thing. All major banks have branches there as well as jobcenterplus. Highly highly recommended. Its 12 to 15 mins bus trip to city center.

1000% RECOMMEND !
Had an amazing time living here. Sad it is coming to an end. The website doesn’t lie at all, beautiful campus greenery, an all inclusive on-site pub, gym, laundrette, tv room, not to mention the super fast WiFi, what’s there not to love?
Feel it’s further away from the City Centre? Living here gets you free access to a student bus pass. Exploring the city was enjoyable and it definitely saved me money on the cheeky Ubers and cabs.
Personally, being in such a peaceful environment really helped me focus on my studies, especially during my final year and with the help of the communal study rooms too.
The 24/7 security will definitely make you feel safe as an individual which is an important factor, especially for someone like me who moved to Birmingham not knowing anyone at the time.
Overall, the staff have been super friendly, helpful, warm and welcoming to me from day 1 and here I am 2 years later with a completed degree, moving out.
It’s truly been a joy living here.
Thank you HamCam Team for your Hospitality.

I lived at HamCam for 2-3yrs - it was generally alright with friendly staff, however I was really disappointed with their reaction to the pandemic. I paid for around 14 months of unused rent/utilities with no form of discount, and when I asked about a possible discount I was told (quite rudely) that my contract stands so I had to pay, despite my contract including access to shared spaces such as a gym, TV room and study rooms which were all closed.
Issues have come up before about cleanliness (we pay for the shared areas to be cleaned) being lacking, and I have had guests before that were rudely spoken to by cleaners/staff members and made to feel uncomfortable - essentially, you get what you pay for.
Would I have stayed closer to uni if I could have afforded to? Yes, without a doubt. But it's good having somewhere in Brum that students can stay for cheap.

This is my second year living at HamCam, it is excellent value for money! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I feel safe living here with the security that they provide and the free bus pass issued makes travel around the city easy and accessible. I have never experienced any problems living here and I’m definitely considering it for my third year! I love it!!!
10/10 would recommend :)
