Beautiful Accommodation! You have to see this location and accommodation the place was so beautiful. I went there with my two friends to do a viewing which we will be staying at the University in September. We met a kind and lovely manager called Aneeta who was really friendly and very informative. The accommodation it self was fabulous with some amazing social spaces to chill for students and they had an amazing study space also for students. As soon as we entered the accommodation it felt like a great place to be and the environment felt really good. There was so many friendly people and straight away made us feel at ease, this place has definitely won me over. This is definitely the best accommodation in Birmingham so far and I can’t wait to stay here in September

Amazing place to stay whilst studying and working. Staff are friendly and helpful and the room, kitchen and social areas are better than most other accommodations in Birmingham. I was hesitant to move in at first because of all the negative reviews I had seen earlier in the year however I found that most of them had been addressed and that there was a change in staffing and management. Madiha was the person who highlighted where changes had been made to improve the experience and I could see firsthand changes that had been made. There is room for improvement. I found that it wasn't always clear when certain areas were closed for whatever reason whether it was for a security reason or maintenance such as the cinema room or the rooftop terraces. Also at times some security staff were a bit overzealous when carrying out their duties but the majority were friendly and helpful. It's a little pricey and they use circuit laundry so those are things that are a bit harder to change. Overall for what you get it's fairly good value; A view from 24 floors up of Birmingham City Centre for everyone (see photos attached) not just those who've got rooms up there, ample study spaces, 4K wall mounted television, access to a small fitness suite/gym, a show kitchen, a fairly sizeable room and at prime location

This is my first time staying at Onyx and it has been a good experience so far. The facilities, rooms, location and overall experience are great. The social spaces, table tennis, pool table, cinema room and rooftop terrace are all amazing features that make staying here a unique experience. Especially being part of Aston Snow Club, we have been able to host events in the social spaces which everyone has toughly enjoyed. The staff are all an absolute credit to Onyx, extremely friendly and helpful with anything you you need. I can’t recommend it enough.

Amazing Accommodation! You have to see this location and accommodation to believe it, it truly is an amazing place, I went there with my son to do a viewing who will be in University in September. I met a lovely Sales Manager by the name of Aneeta who was really friendly and very informative. The accommodation it self was fabulous with some amazing social spaces to chill for students, we went and on the way were met by a number of reception staff and the managers who were all a great bunch and very helpful and straight away made us feel at ease, this place has definitely won me over as a parent. As a parent I want the best accommodation for my son and this is the very best in Birmingham by far!

Really happy with this choice of accommodation. Previously living in on campus & canal-side, the quality of living in onyx is miles above. Staff have been extremely helpful with the football social events we've hosted downstairs (for free), from a personal point of view I feel the staff are extremely friendly, almost friend like. As anyone can see the accommodation is extremely modern, with additional activities that can be done (pool, cinema, table tennis) (Part of the Aston Stags, see example of what onyx hosted for us in the attached photo)

Really high quality accommodation compared to the competition. Well laid out rooms, with a big shower. The kitchen and seating area is also really good and the TV is very high quality. The workers here extremely nice helpful especially the marketer call Aneeta. She helped me with literally everything to do with my accommodation and she was very honest about the place and explained to me how they’re new and they’re still trying to improve everyday. After booking my room she kept me up to date with emails or calls about my room and the importance of saving money. Onyx is really very nice place to live in for students especially from aston. The amenities provided are that of a 5 star hotel. The staff here is very friendly and always ready to help. Madiha has been super helpful throughout the year and always made myself and my sister feel at home. Every time my friends visit, they love the building and are amazed by how modern and “instagrammable” this building is. Super fun place to live with a lot of events going on at all times.

I live in Onyx along with ~15 or so of my friends. I'm in my final year currently and have had by far the best student accommodation experience with Onyx and their staff. I love the design of the whole place and the modern décor. Any problems I've faced have always been dealt with swiftly and the staff are fantastic. Specifically, Cam and Dekra have been absolutely magnificent, always up for a laugh and will deal with any enquiries you may have efficiently. I have also worked closely with Aneeta on behalf of Aston University's Snow Club. Aneeta is fantastic and I really value our Onyx and ASC's partnership - hosting events, promoting the building and having fun in the process. Keep up the great work Onyx/FSL

I came to see Onyx with my son and was blown away with all that was available from the sky lounge on the 24th floor to the onsite Gym that is actually a real gym and free for students to use, the Cinema and 10th floor roof terrace. There is so much for the students to do the staff are very friendly and accommodating Anita the lady that showed us around was so informative an absolute asset to the company she not only showed us around she went through student wellbeing, security and engagement and then helped us with creating the booking. Anita you truly are wonderful and can not thank you enough.

Visited the place to pick my brother for xmas holidays. Amazing place. Well maintained sparkling clean and has changed massively in the last few months. Having moved into Onyx in September I couldn't recommend it enough! Location is perfect, a short walk to Aston and BCU campus, and Birmingham city centre, while also running along popular bus routes. Amenities such as sky terraces and cinema / gaming rooms really set Onyx apart from other accoms in the surrounding area. Living with two flats of other Aston Stags - couldn't recommend it enough!

In all honesty the bad reviews are simply misleading. When you actually visit the accommodation you'll find it does look very accurate to the photos it displays. It has plenty of reasons as to why it is more pricey for example, the gym, study rooms and lounge areas which encourages students to interact and enjoy their uni experience. Highly recommend particularly thanks to Anita!!

Dhekra as been absolutely amazing, from I entered the accommodation on the 11th she’s been helping me out. From getting my fob to continuously helping with problems with my room such as my door. When the place opened it was terrible. The staff was inconsiderate had no care for mental, emotional or physical health and well-being. All the social areas were locked off even when the government permitted half the things. However I went back today and saw a whole new staff team who are unbelievably pleasant. They stayed overtime for me so I could have my issue resolved with no questions asked. Madiha and Anita specifically helped me through the process. Madiha via email and Anita via face to face and honestly speaking a new team of staff is by far the best decision ONYX has made. Thank you Madiha and Anita for ending my stay on a great note. I won’t forget it :)

Best Accommodation in Birmingham in my opinion and I’ve lived in 3 so far, didnt really have the best start but generally over the few months I’ve been here form January so far, everything’s been sorted, from the staff to the environment, everything’s just welcoming and comfortable.
